0.6 is love, 0.6 is life?
Posted 9 years agoI'm so excited for 0.6. I think it'll be our biggest cycle yet in terms of just how much better interactions will become after this. So many new features, improvements and new content in general. Can't wait to show you all the new stuff we've been working on. :)
Zootopia review
Posted 9 years agoI'm one of those who take movies pretty seriously. I absolutely hate getting my experience spoiled by either high expectations or, well, spoilers. I keep far away from trailers or anything else that could possible ruin my experience.
So this last Friday when I went to see Zootopia together with my friend Dogson, I had absolutely no idea what I was going to watch, other than it would be a "furry movie" basically.
As the movie started, I immediately fell in love with the art style and universe that Disney has built. Each scene is so well made and pleasant to view. I didn't want to blink or look away any second during it, in fear of missing something. The characters are appealing and have so much personality, the story always kept me interested, and the humor made me and the audience burst into laughter constantly.
I was surprised by the depth of the movie, being able to please both young and old alike, and by its strong message.
Verdict? I was very pleased with the experience, and I'm hoping to see more of Judy, Nick and Zootopia in the future.

Protip when editing
Posted 10 years agoWe just realized we have forgot to mention this extremely useful method when editing interactions:
Press and hold Left Shift when using the Move or Rotate tool, to make it a lot more precise. This makes detailed posing a lot easier!

Fixes on the way, but first sleep
Posted 10 years agoSo today we released an alpha build of Yiffalicious for the first time to the public. It has been super scary and waaay tighter than we would have liked, but it seems we made it in time. :)
The release has gone very smoothly in some ways, but (as expected of an alpha) not very much so in other ways. While the app does seem to work quite well on newer systems, older ones are struggling. A common problem seems to be missing character models or missing dicks. So our top priority is to try and fix this. Hopefully it shouldn't take too long! We'll let you know when a fix is out.
Unfortunately, it's way past bedtime here and while we would like to be with you all night, we need to tend to our sleep. First thing in the morning though we will get back to you and start working on Yiffalicious again.
We would like to thank everyone for giving us this opportunity to work on this. It means so much to us. If it wasn't for you, Yiffalicious wouldn't be. Thanks again so much. And good night!

Dropping support for Linux and Mac
Posted 10 years agoWhen we announced Linux and Mac support, we hadn't really investigated the market share of these platforms for our targeted audience. But after close examination, we have come to the conclusion we have more to gain than to lose by simply focusing on Windows only. We understand this will surely disappoint some of you, but we think it is the right choice.
The reasons for this are many, but in short we feel it doesn't make sense to limit and delay the app for all users to accommodate the needs of 5%. By dropping support for Linux and Mac we can rely on advanced Unity features that are only available on Windows. Furthermore, only having to focus on one platform will make testing and deployment far easier and quicker. We believe this focus will result in a higher quality app, with more frequent updates and less bugs.
(By the way, in addition to this, while we don't support Oculus rift just yet, Oculus has dropped their support for Mac too.)
If you've supported us on Patreon and are sure they've charged you, and would like a refund because of this change, please send us a message (on Patreon) and we will sort it out.
Thank you.
