BlueSky Callin' Me
Posted a year agoWow, really been a long time since I've used this feature huh? Guess I ain't been doing much with FA as I used to...then again, with my health as it is, I ain't exactly been putting a high priority on my 2d work, alas.
Anyway, with everything that's been going on everywhere, between Twitter descending into a cesspit, Cohost shutting down, other places hanging on by a shoestring and a prayer...it's about time to do the whole "platform diversification" dance again, huh?
As it happens, I've already made a BlueSky account to get onboard - two of 'em in fact, with possibly a third planned! Gonna be using them somewhat more now, especially since I've kinda gotten into different styles of content creation that aren't exactly ideal for FA, at least not the way I do 'em.
For my 2d artwork, a bit of 3d modeling stuff, and the occasional promo vid for my VR-based assets, you can go to my main account here: https://glenskunk.bsky.social
For my spicier VR-derived malarky in photo and video form, with collaborations and other kinds of goodness, you can find it here: https://twunkskunk.bsky.social
As for my more hardcore erotic artwork (like my FA alt account), that one will be a bit longer in coming along; I'm waiting for a tagging/ID update to BlueSky to go fully live to make that happen so as not to ambush people with the wilder stuff right out in the blue.
As an aside, I've also been debating with myself if I want to lockdown my Twitter accounts and remove all the stuff I posted on 'em to prevent future scraping; between the removal of opt-out for their machine learning tools next month and their changes to the way the block feature works, Twitter no longer feels like a particularly safe or sane place to post (not that it was ever really safe or sane, especially not the past few years...).
If you'll forgive me for speculating for a moment, I suspect the block feature changes and the removal of the opt-out for Grok 2 training is linked; given the tendency for a lot of us artists on there to block AI scraping accounts whenever we find them (to say nothing of the folks who push out endless AI-generated imagery), it makes me feel that the block change was done specifically to allow those scrapers to keep working even if they've been blocked. The management of Twitter is doubling-down on their ML tools in my view, and while I believe the problems with harassment and stalking are definitely worrying effects of the block change, I believe the main goal was to make sure the AI scraping could get the training data they needed regardless of the wishes of the people who make the artwork being trained on.
That basically leaves a lot of us artists with three options - lock/private out Twitter accounts and severely limit who can and cannot access our stuff, add Glaze and/or Nightshade to *all* of our uploads, or up stakes to platforms not so gung-ho about machine learning and training their AIs on their users' content. That last one seems to be the option a lot of folks are taking, with many going to the trouble of deleting everything from their Twitter accounts, locking/privating those accounts and changing the passwords to keep malicious actors from appropriating their online presence for their own gain. We already have problems with scambots and impersonators in the Twitter creative space; can you imagine the damage someone could cause if they got a hold of your original Twitter account to start shilling crypto or machine learning scams?
Will I go through with any of this? At the moment I'm undecided, but the way things are going, it's not a possibility I can ignore or be complacent about. I am definitely planning to move everything that was specific to Twitter over to BlueSky and elsewhere; hell, in the case of two accounts it's already begun in earnest.
And as for FurAffinity? I'm even less decided on that point...I don't really know enough about the current explosion to really say one way or the other that leaving here or staying would be good ideas, but personally speaking it isn't the same anymore. Maybe it's just the aging talking, the carpal tunnel syndrome, all the other madness in my life...I dunno.
Heh, this turned into a bit of a ramble huh? But then got a lot to cover and a lot of space I can fill...but let's end it here for now shall we? I may still post a few odds and sods here, but truth be told I don't consider much of the 2d stuff I've made recently to be particularly worth posting here, too black and white, no color...maybe I should fix that.

3D Modeling Shenanigans and I Need Help
Posted 5 years agoHey peeps, it's yer friendly neighborhood GlenSkunk here! Wanted to drop a line to you folks to let you know what's been going on...recently, I've become enamored with doing 3d work again. Hard! I've taken Blender out for a spin and have started doing character models here and there, porting them over to VRChat and (hopefully) Source Filmmaker.
While the former is a fairly straightforward process for me to do, the latter is proving to be much more difficult to pull off...textures not loading, models being too complex, hard to find documentation or help with it, or making sense of it...right now I'm trying to bring this character model ( http://puu.sh/GP4O3/07ea01883e.jpg ) into SFM, but I'm getting strange results, like the model being outright invisible in Crowbar's model viewer, and just showing up as the usual purple and black checkerboard in SFM itself (as well as being ridiculously small for some reason I haven't been able to determine). Been trying to suss out what's gone wrong for me here, seems like the model isn't loading the textures like it should, but I'm fairly sure the textures are in the right place and named correctly, at least if the Crowbar info on the model is to be believed. (SFM seems to show the textures being sought in two locations, one of which appears to be nested within the other folders like some weird Matryoshka doll of folder hierarchies...)
So, in short, I'm kind of stumped here. If you have any knowledge on building and porting custom characters into SFM, or know someone who has done so, please get in touch with me about this! It's kinda frustrating trying to figure out what the problem is when you can't find the info you need or even figure out what info you have. I know I've done SOMETHING wrong here but I can't figure out WHAT it is.
SFM problems aside, I have been enjoying making stuff for VRChat too, though I've still plenty to learn there. In fact, with how much I've been enjoying 3d work of late, I've been pondering opening up for 3d character commissions on a limited basis! Still need to work out what pricing to go with and who might be interested in such work, but it is something I'm considering!

Patreon PSA from Wolfblade
Posted 5 years agoWell, this is a fine pickle...looks like Patreon may be in danger of going under due to a variety of, well, self-inflicted wounds if the news is anything to go by. You may want to diversify to a new platform whether you're a creator or subscriber, just in case. You can read a much fuller PSA about this from this journal by Wolfblade: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/9581853/
GlenSkunk Now Has His Own Discord Server!
Posted 5 years agoYep, after a long time, I finally went ahead and made up my own Discord server for my art and interests. Lots of silliness will abound and there will be cardiophilia content; however, you will need to opt-in to specific roles to access that kind of content!
You can join it via this link: https://discord.gg/NRFuJwg do bear in mind this is an 18+ server so we will ask you for your age to verify if you can join.

Wanna Do More Painting!
Posted 5 years agoWell, recently I've discovered that I can do rather nice painterly work on my Samsung tablet using ibisPaint X...it takes some work but it's definitely doable! It got me thinking that I'd love to do more painting work, but I don't get commissioned for it terribly often...
So I'm gonna have a special offer...for the rest of April, my painting tier of commissions will only cost $75! That's right, I'm cutting half the price off! Now the painting tier will be equivalent in price to my regular smooth shade tier, so if you want a painting please hit me up! This offer WILL end with April's end, so do get to me soon if you'd like such a work!

The Raffle Winner!
Posted 5 years agoAlrighty, it's after 12 pm, so the Thump Smut Freebie Raffle I held has now closed entry, with 13 entries - very good! That means that the winner will get a nice colored pic out of this too!
At the recommendation of a friend, I am doing this using a publicly available RNG program called rfc3797 - rather than the always-random results of something like Wheel Decide, this program requires me to put in a set seed to pick a result from the options available; this is referred to as an entropy set. For this draw, I'll be using the winning numbers from yesterday's California Fantasy 5 - 11, 13, 28, 30, and 32. This will allow you all to verify that the result I've achieved is as it should be, should you wish to.
Using this approach, the winner is...
ShapeofSound ! Congratulations! Please send me a note or some other kind of contact and send me the references for your character along with pertinent info about them, as well as telling me whether you want it solo or with one of my characters...and of course what sort of heart preference you have!
Thank you all for participating! Maybe next time I'll make another one of these, but open it up more broadly so anyone can win, whether I've worked for ya or not XD

Spreading The Thump Smut Everywhere
Posted 5 years agoHeh, bit of a silly thing, but last night it occurred to me that there may be quite a few folks who have seen my work or the work of others and have thought "man, I so want to see my OC like that, but how can I get it done?" I know at this time a lot of you are dealing with some financial troubles beyond your control, among other stress-inducing malarky.
So I'm gonna make a little offer - during the next twenty four hours or so, I'm gonna open up for a freebie raffle specifically for heart fetish art! If you've never gotten me to draw your character in thump smut before, here's an opportunity! It can be just your character, or your character with one of mine! Here's a few things to keep in mind for this:
-This raffle is intended for people whom I've NEVER drawn thump smut for - if I HAVE drawn it for you before, I would ask that you not enter at this time, so folks who haven't had a chance can get one easier.
-The raffle will start out at a sketch level, but the more people who enter, the higher the quality of the final piece - a little incentive for y'all!
-The winner of the raffle will be selected by RNG from a list I make of entrants, to be determined after 12 pm Friday more or less.
-As mentioned above, you will be allowed to have one character of yours in the picture, but that can be either your character on their own, or with one of my own characters.
-If you do win the raffle, please send me references for the character of your choice by whatever means you are comfortable with - FA/IB notes, Discord, Telegram, e-mail! Also be sure to mention their sexual orientation, favorite sexual positions (if applicable), noteworthy fetishes they have, and suggestions of their personality. (I will be developing the idea for the final work from this information rather than asking for more specific pose/situation ideas - I want to be inventive with this while still respecting your character.)
-I will only be accepting ONE entry per person - please be respectful and do not use multiple accounts to try and gain multiple entries! (This includes accounts across multiple platforms!)
-To signal your interest in joining the raffle, comment below with the phrase "Thump Me Up Skunko!" somewhere in the comment - this is IMPORTANT!
Thanks for taking a looksee here, and good luck! I look forward to seeing who winds up winning this little freebie raffle!

Would You Date/Bang a GlenSkunk?
Posted 6 years agoHad a bit of a thought in my head for a while...I've wondered how many folks would be interested in dating and/or banging the character of GlenSkunk, the big silly skunky. I know some folks find him quite appealing (though I know a few wish he weren't so *ahem* thumpy about things), so I'm wondering what would happen if I opened up some sort of special event or YCH deal with the dude what kind of response I might get. So I'd like to open it up to all you peeps following me here: would any of you date or bang the feep skunk?
GLENSKUNK COMMISSIONS WIDE OPEN!
Posted 6 years agoHeh, yep, I have a lot of interest in taking on new commission work - after finishing my most recent one, I have a lot of open space to take on new works, so please, don't be shy, step on up! Drop a note in this journal, a PM via the FA private message system, or some other contact method if you prefer! My current pricing info can be found here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/20764137/
Commissions Be Open! (And Have Been For Quite Some Time)
Posted 6 years agoHeh, hey folks, just wanted to let y'all know that I am very much open for commission work - I've been clearing out my backlog some and noticed I could squeeze in a little more work! So if you're interested, let me know, whether via an FA note, a chat program or a comment or what not; you can check out my current prices here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/20764137/
I am wondering if I need to adjust my commission pricing at all, since I haven't updated the prices for my work in about three years...dern inflation catching up to me! If you have any thoughts on how I should price my work please let me know, I'm still getting feedback before I go hog wild. (Also, anyone who commissions before I update prices won't be asked to pay more as a result - not fair to ya to have to fork over more money because of a change on my end.)
My current commission pool (no particular order) is here: https://trello.com/b/IuGnnx2R/glens.....rt-commissions gives you an idea of where ya stand. Note that only the commissions in the "Paid" and "In Progress" columns are currently active; "Interested/Info Not Given" and "Not Paid" are essentially a sort of holding area for folks who have expressed interest but have not gone further with me, and I do sometimes clear entries out if I don't hear from the prospective commissioner about a piece for long enough, so do bear that in mind. When it comes to my commissions I do ask for cash up front, or at least cash before I begin work proper; you can read my full TOS on my front page if you want some more details!

Paintstorm is Awesome, and Painting Commissions are Sought
Posted 8 years agoHey peeps, your friendly neighborhood GlenSkunk here, hoping you're all having a good time! I'm writing to let you know what's been going on in Glenland of late. It's been pretty noisy over here - adding an addition to your house tends to create a LOT of noise, especially from the power tools sawing holes into the walls and all, blegh.
Anyway, lately I got turned on to a neat program called Paintstorm - it's a very powerful painting program that has some very good color mixing/blending functionality, a bit like in SAI 2 or similar. The amazing thing about it is that it's only $20 - my jaw dropped when I found out it was so inexpensive. And after trying it out for a recent commission, I have to say it's working out splendidly, I love it!
With that in mind, I'd like to let those of you interested know that I'm on the lookout for new painting commissions to do - more practice with Paintstorm and more fun to be had, yay! And it's especially important for me right now since earlier this month, I had to shell out $700 to deal with rent, so I'm feeling a bit more pinched than usual financially. So if you're interested in a painting commission, or another kind if you want something more within your budget, then feel free to hit me up!

Collaborative Commissions and Other Madness
Posted 8 years agoHey peeps, your friendly neighborhood GlenSkunk here! Just wanted to drop a journal to let you know that, yes, I am still about and alive - even been streaming a bit now and then, as some of my recent uploads have shown. Wanted to let you all know about an interesting collaboration that I've been doing with a fellow artist.
You may have seen some work recently where I've done animation work on still artwork - this is my collaboration with
stevefarfan - AKA Caramel the Calf! He does the still art, and I integrate my animated work in to it to create a unique animated still, a nice half-way point between a full still and a full animation! For only $100 you could get something like it too - a still pic with an animated part, be it an erection, a heart, whatever we have available for you! We customize the animation in size, color and timing to fit your needs, and we also offer extra addons like hand-animated cumshots!
You can also go check out the other art on offer from
stevefarfan - he's a very capable artist, widely versed in art styles and techniques, and has other collaborative art deals with some other folks! Full details on these offers and examples of the styles he can draw in are available here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/24828879/
We look forward to seeing you and hope you decide to commission us! If you do so, we very much look forward to your business!

Psst! Commission This Guy!
Posted 8 years ago
Mal-Cat <- Dis dude right hereHeh, doing a little signal boosting for an artist I've met fairly recently; he could use the commission work, and his prices are pretty sweet! Also, for those cardiophiles among my watchers, he's more than happy to give that a go, but any commissions for him would be greatly appreciated! Starting from $8 busts to $30 full body pictures, and plenty more besides! Go give this guy some business, it'd be appreciated!
GlenSkunk Patreon Relaunched...As a Tip Jar?!
Posted 8 years agoHeh, yeah, decided I wanted to make myself a tip jar so folks can tip me a little every now and then if they like my work. The old way of doing the whole tiered rewards thing just wore me out, and I wound up falling too far behind to be able to keep up. So, this way, it’s not at all required to pledge to see new art or get rewards, you just tip if you feel like you want to!

A Thought Occurs to Me - Character Design Adoptables?
Posted 8 years agoI've been seeing some character adoptables here and there - folks designing characters specifically for the purpose of selling to other folks who might give them a good home. Sometimes this is sort of necessity, when an artist is low on money and has to part, regrettably, with characters they'd designed some time prior just to stay afloat. Other times, it's a custom thing specifically for sale, with the idea being that it gives people who might otherwise have a hard time designing their own character get a good one.
So I'm curious - would anyone who watches me be interested if I made an adoptable or two? I'm not sure if I want to do it as an auction or make it a new commission type, would rather depend on the level of interest. Any thoughts?

New Tablet, New Possibilities, Need for Cash
Posted 8 years agoHeh, hey folks, GlenSkunk here again, wanted to keep you peeps appraised of what's new in Feeptopia. First of all, I have a new tablet! One of my commissioners was SUPER generous and opted to help me get a new Intuos Pro tablet, and let me tell you; using it, it makes me swear that I should have made the leap to it a looooong time ago. *chuckle* My carpal tunnel and tendonitis are also lessening, which means I'm finally better able to tackle my commission backlog!
That brings me to a bit of unfortunate news. Since I haven't taken on any new commission work in months (since even before I got tendonitis, though the tendonitis and carpal tunnel sure didn't help), I've been in a bit of a financial squeeze. Ordinarily I'm loathe to take on new work while I still owe commissions, especially long-standing ones. Unfortunately, in this instance I'm not sure that's a realistic option.
So here's my thoughts on what I can do to get things moving; I was thinking (with permission from my current commission clients) of hosting a sketchathon where I do a bunch of sketch commissions over the course of a stream (maybe even multiple streams depending on interest). That way I could earn a nice chunk of money without straining my arms too greatly (though my carpal tunnel and tendonitis ARE better, I'm still not 100%, so I want to avoid overdoing it). But I would like permission from the people who have commissioned me and been waiting for their work before I go through with it, since I know it may be upsetting to see such short term work go ahead of their long-term waiting. I have also considered a slight price increase, but that will depend a lot on how long it'll take me to get through my current backlog.
So please feel free to leave a comment, especially if you have a longstanding commission with me! (Though that's primarily if I don't contact you directly first, but hey). Hope you all have a good day!

Guh, First Carpal Tunnel, and Now This...
Posted 8 years agoWell, tonight's been rather...frustrating for me. My Monoprice Tablet has decided to not work right - pressure sensitivity is completely GONE for Clip Studio Paint and Photoshop. It also was gone in the tablet driver software itself, but some tweaks managed to get THAT working again, anyway. Unfortunately, nothing I've tried so far has managed to help sort out the issues with my current tablet. Not the first time this problem has reared its head (I saw a journal about this exact same problem I put up three years ago, under Windows 7 rather than Windows 10). So I've gotten frustrated enough to consider getting a new tablet, so I'm looking for recommendations for one that would suit my purposes and (hopefully) work better under Windows 10 than my current setup is doing right now. x_X For reference, the tablet is a Monoprice HA60S, 10x6.25 inch or so. I'd like a good quality tablet, but I don't think I want to spend the amount of money a similar sized Wacom would cost me...oi vey...
The Strain Lessens, and College Resumes
Posted 9 years agoHeh, hey peeps, your friendly neighborhood GlenSkunk here, putting up a journal to let you know that, yes, I'm not dead! I'm still kicking, and I ought to let you peeps know what's going on.
As some of you are aware, the arm strain I mentioned in my last journal turned out to be a combination of tendonitis in the shoulders and carpal tunnel in my right wrist. Nasty situation, but not that painful yet, thankfully. So for the past couple months I've taken time off from art and other stressful arm things to let them recover, along with exercises and pain meds and all. It's been a slow recovery, but in the end my arms are now back in better shape, some tension and bit of soreness still, but much much better than it was before. I hit a milestone today too, in that I actually tried to draw something again for the first time in two months! Yay! Of course, what I drew would be better suited to my Cardiobombastic account, but it was something! Just in time too, since college begins again for me next week. So I'm going to try and ease myself back into commission work, first the stuff I owe to many peeps, then reopening for new ones! Does depend on my college workload of course, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
So yeah, feeling better and looking forward to a new year! Yay!

Arm Strain Entering the Picture - Commission Slowdown
Posted 9 years agoHey folks, GlenSkunk here, dropping a line to let you peeps know that things are, well, a bit complicated over here. Lately I've been having some rather unfortunate arm muscle strain, starting in my right shoulder but moving down to my forearm and hand too. It's quite aggravating, especially since when I try to draw with my tablet, my muscles really tense up and pain sets in. I think for the time being I'm going to need to hold off on my art, since it's clearly causing some trouble for my art at present. I don't really know WHY this is happening, but I suspect it may be awkward positioning when I draw and/or use the computer.
So for now, I'm going to have to close my commissions (though in truth I haven't taken much new stuff over the last few months), and I'm also going to let you know that if you'd like a refund on your current commission, please send me a message and I'll do what I can to help there. In the meantime, I'm going to try and rest my arm, and see the doctor if need be. Thank you all for understanding.

Thirty One Years Alive, and College Begins Again
Posted 9 years agoWell, it's been a while since I updated some of ya on what's been going on with me. Summer's been pretty uneventful, slowly knocking down commission work, having some fun here and there. And now this week there's a couple of big things! First, college begins anew for me, with me currently taking 3d Animation II and Painting II for some more advanced study and what not, may have another class or two depending on how the waitlists shake out. Secondly, August 30th 2016 marks my 31st birthday, hurray! I've survived another year! Here's to another good one to come, and of course some of you streaming artists out there may find me coming to you to commission a little birthday art on the day or for a bit after!
Summer Comes In, Time for MORE COMMISSION WORK!
Posted 9 years agoHeh, hey peeps, wanted to let you all know that I'm still very much open for new commission work; I've slowly been whittling down my existing backlog, so I feel comfortable taking on a bit of new stuff! And if you want me to stream what ya want me to do, that's fine too, it can be very helpful!
Additionally, I have been wondering about raising my commission pricing a smidgen, to account for the improvements in my work since the last time I did a price increase. It feels sometimes like I spend a lot more time on my pieces these days, but it can be hard to tell when you're in the midst of a creative surge. I wanted to ask you fine folks out there if you would be amenable to a slight increase, and if so, how big an increase would be acceptable. At the moment I'm kinda thinking something like this:
Sketch: $15 (stays the same; I knock these out pretty quick so I can keep them as they are)
Inks: $25 (a $5 increase, just to take into account the effort difference between sketch and inks)
Cel shaded: $40 (A $10 increase; oddly I find cel shading sometimes trickier to do than smooth shading, but I'll still keep it lower since in the end it IS a lower-effort thing.)
Smooth shaded: $50 (A $10 increase; I've added some painter-like elements to my works, like occlusion for deep shadows and reflected light and all sorts of goodies like that!)
Painting: $85 (A $15 increase; paintings tend to be the most complex thing I get asked to do, so naturally those prices tend to rise more simply because of the sheer amount of time and effort involved!)
I may also add tiers for simple animated work, comics or real-life acrylic paintings, although for the acrylic paintings I WOULD be more limited in what subject matter I could take on since it's a lot trickier to keep a big canvas for private viewing than a digital image.
So, to sum up, I'm still open for commissions, am considering changing the pricing a smidge, and thinking about adding formal tiers for more complex types of work! Lookin' forward to hearing from you!

An Artist Challenge - Heart Smut Character Design!
Posted 9 years agoHeh, thought I ought to make a journal about this, as lately I've been issuing a challenge to a number of artists I know. You see, I've been challenging them to design THEIR IDEA of a character ideal for heart smut - they're totally free to do what they like with the idea, and we all have some fun with it! It's actually yielded some very interesting results, like these few here:

So I was wondering - would any of you artists out there be interested in taking on this challenge? I'd be very curious to see what you came up with; if you do decide to take it up, please link me the results in the comments of this journal too! No worries if you don't want to either, I understand. ^_^ Have fun!

A Curious Query - Who Wouldn't Mind Being Heart Porn'd?
Posted 10 years agoHeh, as the title says, I've been somewhat curious - among the various people who follow me here on FA, IB, Tumblr or what have you, who would not mind having a character of theirs heart pornified? Who would actively welcome it? (I know of a few on that score, but there may be others!) I'm particularly curious about artists following me who would not mind or welcome me heart pornifying their characters at some point. And if so, how intense or mild would you find comfortable?
Of course, I'm also well aware that some of you out there would really rather I NOT do such a thing with their characters, so if you want to let me know you'd prefer I not do so, please tell me! I'm not a mind reader, and while I know that it's never good to do something like this to someone's character without asking where possible, it's always good to get a definitive no, too.
