General | Posted 15 years agoWild Nights!!!!
General | Posted 15 years agoOK..so its so close now, only 4 days off...to say we are excited is a marked understatement.
Yes WE...the mate Askari Cheetah is coming along for all the furry goodness. Its her second only Furry event, the first being Memphis last year. Shes taking a break from Roller Derby for a weekend, can you believe it?
So she has some ideas for some great ideas for some photo shoots~shes an aspiring armature photographer.
We will be asking for fursuiter volunteers to pose for some shots and theme set ups so bring your creative ideas or props you have lying around. (you know you do, your furrys,we all have weird junk that would make a great picture titled WTF?)
Other activity planned by me are being kept a secret until the opening ceremony...trust the Yote, its gonna be awesome. Lets just say, fear should not be a factor~and no other fur has done what I'm planning.
The weather looks good, perfect camping weather!!! But whatever the conditions good times are ahead for sure, me and Askari will see all you guys there, don't miss this if you are at all able, 2010 Wild Nights will go down in history!!!!!

General | Posted 16 years agoThis con was WIN ALL DAY.
I threw out so much "swagger" at this con~its just stupid!!!!!!!!!!I'm talking Lady GaGa level...yeah I went there~
If I mentioned all the epic happenings that I experienced here I would consume all the bandwidth on FA....
not to mention all of the complete overload of LOVE for this Coyote shown by so many "furfans"...I was a bit overwhelmed.
From the second anniversary dinner of the cutest couple on the planet (Kuri and Leo) to the reunion of everybody I fell in love with last year...this con has topped all that proceeded it.
Sub level 3's final show of the tour....room partys...pb&j's from the con suit (personal life saver) The best handler(s) ever...new friends~old ones...dance party on Sunday...and the Flamingo...a gigantic bucket of DEEP FRIED MAD PROPS to anyone who helped me OWN the Cougar...when I saw it in the lost-n-found...I almost died from lol's...how fitting was that?
I wonder how the poor Hotel staff (who are so nice and forgiving) felt about the amount of rainbow confetti the Coyote threw on everybody? I think I tuned this one guy a little Gay~er...there was so much...PFCD in full effect, so post any pic you may have of your Oki....
As always, its one love...see you @ Wild nights!!!!!

Standards
General | Posted 16 years ago People....they fall into certian "catagorys", well at least thats how I sort the herd. I tend to hold them to a certian standard, and if you wanna be in touch with the Coyote, you better mesure up. Yes, it sounds like I'm being elitist, but its just my way. What brought all this on was a friend request I got on facebook, let me tell ya'...it was a doozy.
This young mans self discription was so contradictive and self absorbed that it boggled the mind. One quote is as follows...
"I'm semi Homo-phobic to the male gender/loving to the gay female side, but I'm not one of the haters.Metal loving, and I think we should start listening to what nine inch nails says, and forget Milley Cyrus. Angry but not crazy, long haired hippy type but I'm clean with a beard."
What does that even mean....he likes lezbians I guess, but I'm sure it was for all the wrong reasons. He also hid his "metal loving" face with a weird studded hat and a long black bandana, his eyes all bugged out and head tilted back to make him look what I'm sure he considered "hard"~What a joke. His final message was for all of us to "Deal" with him...so I did. I refused his friend request and told him in a note that I have certian people standards and I blocked him....deal with that.
So what are your standards?
Do you accept friend requests without investigating your potential new buddy, or do you just let anyone in? I feel this saves me a lot of potential encounters of "failed" personallitys...than having to worry if by me rejecting them, even kindly, is this gonna be the one straw that sends them into a mall with several handguns.

General | Posted 16 years agoLast night was nothing short of Epic...our season opener for Tornado ally Roller Derby! Our opponents for the evening were the "Backwoods Bettys" from fort Smith Arkansas.

General | Posted 16 years ago So as some of you know...i had a procedure done on my eye yesterday to correct my vision. This is the first step to keep my eyes healthy for the future. I at high risk for a condition called mascular degeneration. Thats pin point blindness, and if left unchecked it can cost you your vision from the center outward. So far, I only have the risk factors for it, I have an awesome Optomologist who did my surgery. He said my outlook is very good as we caught this condition in a timely manner.
So now for the cool part...I was given 20mgs of Valium and sat in a dimly lit room....I was more chilled out than a Penguins ass. Next they led me to a room with a lazer robtic machine about the size of a Miata. I sat down in a recliner and the robot took over, leaning me back ond cradleing my head into a form holding pillow. (I so want one of those)
The doctor then put a speculem on my eye to hold it open, i watched a little flashing light as he put some numbing drops in my eye. (that sucks by the way) Feeling like I was floating on air, I hear the lazer begin to fire, it made my vision blurry and my eye water like crazy...but I didn't really care...(Valium is good) the whole thing took like ten mins. at the most, thats the amazing part. The doctor then removed the destroyed portion of the cornia with a loop shape instrument and flushed my eyeball with the coldest water i have ever felt.
A few more pops of the lazer and I was done~ a series of eye drops and some cool sunglasses and the Coyote is fixed.
Now I have to wear a protective contact for a weak and sleep in these clear goggles to protect my eye during the night. so now you all are updated, modern medacine has given me my sight back, thanks to all of you who sent me ims and called to see if I survived, you guys are the best. One love, Oki~The new and improved Coyote!

A day in the life
General | Posted 16 years agoThe life of a working mascot...you show up early, help set the track peramiters, hump a few dozen chairs into neat rows, and finally...mop the floor with a combination of tap water and mountian dew. Thats right, the ever so popular highly caffinated drink choice of young americans ~hyper to the point of a brain anurisem~ everywhere...Mountian dew.
It should come as no surprize that it also makes a great floor cleaner and tracking agent for roller skate wheels.
All of this activity done befor every Roller Derby match by boifriends/girlfriends kids of the team Moms and even a few loyal and loving fans who vollenteer there time expecting nothing in return not even a seat for the evenings bout, they insist on paying and supporting our league. You don't find that kind of love in the NBA I can promise you that.
This was our season opener event on New years Eve @ the Cox convetion center, downtown Oklahoma city. The floor was the most unforgiving of surfaces...concrete that had an almost mirror finish. (hence the Mountian Dew bath pre game) Thankfully our floor at the Farmers Market is the old school hardwood, an almost perfect surface to skate upon. We battled the Green country Roller girls(Tulsa)...they hit like trains and have been together collectivly as a team for 5 years. to say they beat us would be an understatmen~not to the point of embaresment, but damn, it was brutal. An official even got taken out by a pile up he was trying to avoid. your Coyote even had to jump outa the way several times when our girls got "booty checked" into the crowd!!!
Its all good you gotta know, even though we got stomped, theres no fights and we all went out to an awesome little techno bar afterwards and danced in the New year. And yes, I wore Oki into the club....good times indeed, cause its not a party untill someone shows up in a fursuit!!!!

Parenting Fail
General | Posted 16 years agoI'm gonna post this video link..but I gotta warn you, I'm doing it under protest....I'm not one to ever promote cruelty..especially to kids. This is a total bitch move on the parents part, tricking this poor little guy at Christmass.
As many of you are aware, Calamity Cougar and I are constantly pranking each other...but its all in good fun. This is below the belt...see for yourselves. In this Coyotes opinion, its everything thats wrong with Christmass. This is he kind of thing that scars kids for life...

D.R.A.M.A. a retrospective
General | Posted 16 years agoD.-Damn...here we go again...or DOH!!!!! (blatant Homer Simpson reference, complete w/ head slap)When the simple request for an opinion gets spread back to the unintended person in question.
R.-Rude...spreading/repeating half truths and assumed intentions is just bad manners, especially when someones feelings are involved.
A.-Ass...for the way it makes you feel when your called on it by your once and now most likely former "best friend".
M.-"Mark"...As in, ..."little punk ass mark, should known better than to trust that bitch with there finger on that trigger..."(Ice Cube, the Preditor album) Once your "marked" as a drama Lama, its gonna haunt you like a poltergeist.
A.-Aftermath....who does it benefit...who has it harmed...who can rise above it.
Was it really worth all the ruckus...even if your found to be completly "right"...
Thats drama, the most unavoidable cosmic joke ever put carelessly into motion, by our own hand...in my humble opinion.

Speed bumps
General | Posted 16 years agoAhhh the road of life...your on cruise control, the sun is out the top is down, you have a fresh Rt. 44 Cherry Limeaid and that song you forgot how much you love to dance to just came up on your I-pod...life is good.
All of a sudden, without so much as a yellow light to warn you...~BLAM~ your car hits a speed bump the size of Dallas. The Ipod dumps the song~you try to slam on the brakes only to crush the Limeaid between your legs...and the top flys off the car...then it starts to rain....and you hear the remaining air leave your tire....
So...how was your day?
My point to this clever metaphore you ask?
I'm getting older, and with that comes the ravages of age...I at high risk for"Macular degeneration". Thats a ten dollar medical term for center point blindness. Now befor you start sending me seeing eye dog aplications...I've caught this in time my friends...with the proper diet and vitamins (yes vitamins) I can stave off this condition indefinatly.
And to add to my full on kick in the ass diagnosis...to fix my left eyes degenerative condition...(20/150 nearsightedness) ~yes that legaly blind~ it will only cost me a meer $1389.00 after insurance, lasers are expencive.
AWESOME, there goes my con budget for the year...I'll have to stay close to home.
But...and theres always a "but" with me...I found a plasma donation center...$50 bucks every 26 days, and i have no fear of needles...and the mates gonna do it too. So the Yotes gotta do this....lifes too short to miss any of it.
One love~Oki

An unexpected bonus
General | Posted 16 years agoAs it happens in life...plans can change at the most inconvieniant of times. This Oklacon was to be no exception...about a week out my mate, who was going to be the 6th peson in the private cabin...sadly had work commitments and could'nt swing the time off. Being a manager in big box retail does have its draw backs. Oh well, time for the Coyote to improvise. As it happens I'm a huge believer in networking...I'm constantly keeping in touch with all the furs loca and across the region~this would prove to be a worthy endevor. A fur I met @ MFM named Ravenon popped on and said he was comming to Oklacon. Knowing his character fairly well, I invited him to stay as our missing cabin member, paying his share of the cost and sparring him the "new guy"horrors of the A frames. Not that its bad to bunk in them...but he drove all the way from Knoksville Tenn. I figured he deserved a break.
So I introduced my new friend to the other members of my pack furs and he fit right in, a Rabbit in with a Lion, Kitsune,Golden Retriever,Albino Fennic, and a grey muzzel Coyote....wow, talk about diversity. OK...the bonus...Ravennon is a freak about these chewable vitamin "C" tabs...he offered them up like candy to all members of the cabin...at first they were kinda hard to take. I mean, wow, they hit your tongue and its like an explosion of orange goodness. I found my self eating a couple a day in fact, I felt great and never got as muh as a sniffle the entire con. I'm not sure if it helped in this aspect or not, but I had no hangover the next morning from my night of Champion style escapades...hmmm, maybe this Rabbits onto something after all.
I have now made them part of my daily routine...thanks to a new friend that I'm glad to have in my pack...even if he is 13 hours away...thanks Bunneh...your trechery is forgiven.

Oklacon '09 7 Furry Sins
General | Posted 16 years agoSomehow...some way...with the help of a lot of friends and the devine intervention of every Pagan God you could imagine...I survived an EPIC Oklacon. Lets start with Thursday night...the first night...I arrived with a new friend Ravennon "A Bunny called Death" from MFM and Foxglove "Rough Rollie" Fennic, around 4 pm. Scored the keys to the cabin for met up with Imperial Lion and his mate Kurisu and proptly moved in and set about establishing the Den for the pack...this included a Nerf gun fight and some Beer. Later that evening...I suited up and began searching out all the furs who I had been promised would be there.
Finding the New Mexico Fallout furs and Soulcat....win, he had some whiskey. Hookah was in the future for the Yote....another win....Texas beers....win....peppermint schnaps...win....Coyote is now officially "FULLY LOADED".
Alas it was time to retire for the evening...on the way, i was distracted...imagine that, by a fur who thought it would be a good idea to have me pounce his mate...a shy fur who had NEVER interacted with a fursuiter. And he brings him to me....You do the math. As it happened Merkendesser and an old friend helped the Yote to his den...I have to give a huge hug and thanks to none other than Calamity Cougar.
Yes, you read it correct, Draconis, as he is known out of suit, made sure I didn't hurt myself or anyone elese who stummbled into my path of distruction. Getting me into the cabin was easy...keeping me from setting on the air mattress, I mean, the Rabbit sleeping there...then standing up and falling MUZZEL FIRST into the rifridgerator~sending it slamming into the wall....laughing all the while...wasn't so easy.
Gluttony...my first Furry Sin, the first of many that weekend...more to follow~
