Posted 14 years agoFacebook's current deluge of the sick & ignorant, those happy over the deaths in Japan, claiming it "karma" for Pearl Harbor, disgusts me.
It is disturbing and sick that so many people on facebook are happy and joking about the deaths in Japan, saying it some kind of "karma" for their grandparents attacking Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. No, I think they got far more then just "karma" when two of their cities were obliterated short years later.
To all the twisted and vile people who like the death of innocents for the "crimes" of their grandparents, pray, pray very hard, and to all you hold dear, that you are not held to such standards. Pray harder still that YOUR grandchildren are not.

The cursed campaign finally completed.

So, I have been writing a sci-fi setting for the d20 rules for a few years now, and I wrote a very long, detailed campaign to set part of its history. The setting is set in the year 2200 C.E. and the campaign in question is set in 2100 C.E.. The purpose of this campaign was to get some player interaction with the setting's history, as well as set up the events of the major turning point in the setting's history and place legendary people in the form of the PCs.
The problem with all this is, it took three tries to run the campaign though to completion! The first time I tried to run it, the gaming group broke up 1/3 of the way through. The second time we took a break for a couple months 3 sessions in! But, now third time is truly the charm. We began on 08/20/2010, and we finished finally this week. So it took about 20 weeks, but we did it! I am so happy.

So now my kitchen looks like the Pacific ocean, littered with towels, everything moved to get to the pools of water!
This could have all been avoided if he had damn well opened his Goddess-damned ears a few months ago! You know, last time this happened! But no! That would have cost him a few extra dollars to replace the valve and fittings. Can not have that! Much better to cause massive water damage to the kitchen . . . AGAIN!!

So I have just finished watching the anime series Romeo x Juliet, and as it ended I spent a few minutes weeping like a hurt and lost child. I oft have troubles showing my stronger emotions, but novels and shows seem to make me cry with strongly emotional endings.
So I pose to one and all, do you react so to such things? Strong reactions to things you know to be but flights of fancy, mere stories? Is this, like for me, how you judge a story well told, with characters you grow to identify with or care for?

Free to Play EverQuest 2?

As the title says, S.O.E. has made a free-to-play server for EverQuest 2, guess where I have been spending all my gaming time for the last week or so?
I got to play EQ2 for the first time a few months after it came out and really enjoyed it. The original EverQuest was my first MMO, and as anyone who knows me can tell you, I have played pretty much every MMO out there since then. I Love RPGs, and am a very social person most of the time, so the MMORPG is like the perfect game for me.
When I got to play EQ2 way back when fell in love with it. Anyone who has played MMOs with me knows I ADORE trade-skills, achievements/collections, and player owned homes, well EQ2 is really good at both those things. Their trade-skill system is loads of fun! They have tons of achievements to earn and collections to find and complete. And they have many homes for you to chose from, a different type in each city, and several sizes/costs of each of those types. And to make the having a house part even better one of the nine trade-skills is carpentry, so you can make furniture for your house! Carpenters can also make inventory containers (boxes), some that are quite big, 40 slots are the biggest if I recall correctly, so they are not just a fluff trade-skill, that and people will often pay well for good furniture.
So of course when I saw that there was to be a F2P EQ2 server I chomped at the bit till it went live. Now it is still in Beta, so I hope they will fix a few things, some of the totally F2P restrictions are a bit bad. You can fix them by paying money, the lowest "paid level" being a one time $10 for decent upgrade. But most of the rest of their paid levels and most of the stuff in their cash store are badly to VERY badly priced. But here is hoping the cash model gets fixed with player feedback.
But the main reason I make this journal is not just to tell you all what I am up to so enjoyably of late, but to also ask if anyone else is playing. Only a few of my friends are interested in playing on the F2P server, the ones that like EQ2 like I do are all on the real servers, I am the only cheap-skate I guess.
I am trying to get enough of my MMO guild-mates together on this server to found a branch of my MMO guild here, so hopefully there will be a new branch of the "Truly Naughty Troop" soon.

Why is it when I am gone, or busy around the house, and I set my IMs to away, people send me messages and then get upset when I do not answer?!
Nine times out of ten when I say I am AFK or busy, I really am, the rest I forget to change the message back. I really do not mind the messages, sharing a thought, or asking me something. The former I thank you for, the later I will try to get back to you.
Yesterday and today I was busy, we had a heat wave, got hot and muggy, so was trying to get the kids out of the house and getting away myself. But as always I turn my computer on when I get up, so I can use it if I need it, recipe looking up, movie trivia, or IMing a friend on plans. When I am busy that is pretty much all it gets used for during the day. But it is on, and so then is my IM.
So I FINALLY get some quiet time to myself to sit down tonight, mothers can understand that comment better, four teen age kids can run you ragged, and low and behold among my IMs are not one, but four people asking why I am not talking to them, did they do something wrong, what is going on? I Love you all dearly, but WHAT THE FUCK?! Seriously!?
*growls and glares*
I am going to let that go and go sit and watch something fun or funny. Good Eve all.

Oh my, there went hours of time, it has lists of most of the non-porn anime out there, and you can list which ones you have watched, or are watching, or hate. Then after all of that, I noticed it had a similar list of manga, so there goes more time.
But I must say, it is fun, keeping track of what all I have seen, want to see, and how much of my life I have spent watching anime.

As I noticed with my DA page, it has been some time since I last updated my journal. I have always been bad about that, chalk it up to bad memory and just being scatterbrained.

Thank you, in our top story tonight, my Human's main computer is still quite dead, so her time online is more then a bit erratic. She can still get on, just not nearly as often or for as long.

Thank you, in our top story tonight, my Human's main computer is still quite dead, so her time online is more then a bit erratic. She can still get on, just not nearly as often or for as long.
In other news, my Human has been spending most of her time either reading manga, or playing pencil and paper RPGs with a wonderful group of friends.
