Oh my...
Posted 13 years agoA few points to make as it has been forever and you deserve them...
1. I have pretty much abandoned the idea of publishing the trilogy. It costs money I don't have and really, thanks to the beauty of the internet, it's pretty unnecessary. Plus, with the continuing mayhem I contended with up until about a month ago, I really had no room in my life for dealing with it. That said, I am going to release a re-edited version that is a bit tidier and contains fewer grammatical errors than the one currently posted. That is done and will take moments to do; I am just about to head off to noms, though. I put my tummy first ;)
2. I am now living in a cubhouse! Somehow, it became a reality. I have an awesome roomie, my big bro who you can see listed at the top of my page. It's just the two of us for now, but I hope to bring on one or two more cubs who we are close to and have a pre-existing friendship with. In the meantime, I am so happy and content. Words cant describe how nice it is to be 'me' and have a cozy place to call home. ^^
3. I am pondering writing again. Nothing set in stone; I am not even going to bother giving a date on when I will start the process. However, I do miss having that one outlet to run to when the mood strikes me. Also, I have had a lot of ideas bouncing around my head, ones I think would look good written out. All I can say for sure is that it will involve the same characters that starred in the trilogy, will have a mystery-type theme and a fairly serious tone. In other words, sorry, but don't expect a 'Blue Glow'.
That's all for now. Thanks for reading! Your 'watches' are most appreciated! ^_^

An update...
Posted 13 years agoA. Am I alive?
Yes.
B. What the hell happened to publishing this story?!?
I will give you the short answer as the long one would entail a whole other story to explain. Basically, my wife and I have agreed to separate. It was very mutual and we honestly gave it our all. We both love each other dearly and talk pretty much every day. However, with her wanting to live the picket-fence life with babies and dogs and a house and fights over where to spend the holidays and me wanting to live the littlefur life in a different state and to take on a 'momma' to live with...I think you can see why it just wasn't working.
So, I packed up and moved out to Washington State. I am still getting settled, though I have met some amazing folks who have been great to hang out with. I feel as though I am already established here and am coming to realize that I made the right choice. The work I am doing here is much more rewarding than my old job, too. I am finding the emotional fulfillment I had been lacking for as long as I can remember.
Eventually, I will publish the trilogy. I fully understand if all of you have lost your patience with me. I apologize. It is done, it is edited, it is in its final form. I just have to acquire enough funds to commit to said printing and that will take a bit of time as I am still recovering from moving expenses.
Again, I am very sorry for the delay. Thank you all so much for stopping by! ^^

Posted 13 years agoThe bad news: I am not completely done proofreading the trilogy. The good news: I am very close.
As of tonight, I am halfway through 'White Starlight'. Luckily, it is going very smoothly as of now. I figure I should be done by this weekend and once I pen a new preface, I can finally submit it. Since this is getting printed, I just want to make sure it is up to snuff, or at least as much as possible.
The reason that it is going a bit slower than I hoped stems from two factors. Firstly, life has been getting in the way. Nothing serious, but it's been relatively busy. Plus, we are dog-sitting and she is a bed hog, so my sleep had been slacking. Translation: I get home from work, have some noms and then grouse in the recliner.
Secondly, proofing 'Red Sentience' was a nightmare to fix! I don't know how you read it! Seriously, I am moved that you not only bared through that mish-mash of effluent, but that you left compliments on top of it all! Every other sentence, it was a misspelled word or a undesired homonym or nonsensical jargon. It was agonizing and I am thoroughly embarrassed! I am so glad I went through it again. :P
That's all for now! The next post should involve me giving you all some sort of price! ^^ Thanks for your time!

About that publishing...
Posted 13 years agoSo, I have FINALLY forced myself to sit down and work on proofreading the trilogy. I am happy to report that 'Blue Glow' is done. To be honest, I feel as though that will be the hardest part.
Why? I think a lot of it has to do with that fact that I have read it through many more times than the other two. I still love it, but it's old-hat, leading to me finding fault when I should only be correcting punctuation and such. I kept comparing something I wrote years ago to how I would like to write it now.
Fortunately, I pressed through and without changing anything in the way of substance, have completed the task. Onto 'Red Sentience'!
As I said, I think it will go quite a bit quicker from here on out. My goal is to have it all edited and submitted to Rabbit Valley by the end of the month. Hopefully then, the kind gentleman I've been in contact with will give me an estimate cost-wise, which I can then pass onto to those of you who wish to purchase a copy.
Thank you all for your patience and patronage! ^^ It means the world to me!

And it comes to a close...
Posted 14 years agoI have just posted the final segment of the Cody Carrington saga: 'White Starlight'.
Little else to say, except THANK YOU for 'watching' me and my progress. Your kind words and advice have been a harbor through some tough times. It allowed me to channel everything I had into this story.
The trilogy has been my therapy. I hope you've found some solace in it, as well.
Thank you all again! ^_^

Sorta lied...
Posted 14 years agoI said I wouldn't pester you again until I was on the penultimate chapter. However, I have an idea swimming around my head that I just had to run by all of you wonderful folks to get an opinion. Therefore, I'm harassing you as I work on the antepenultimate chapter.
In case you haven't stopped by the page to read the updated profile information, I just finished up chapter nine of a planned TWELVE chapters; yes, that is an increase of two, count 'em TWO, chapters over my original estimate. Tonight, I started chapter ten on page 150. At this rate, I am likely to hit 200 by the time all is said and done.
Now, I was looking over all this work, putting together 'Blue Glow', 'Red Sentience' and the yet to be named 'part three', and I'm thinking...maybe I should punch-out a few hard copies. Furthermore, if I'm gonna do that, why not do it right?
So, I contacted Rabbit Valley and asked them if they would print me off a few sets of the trilogy. They aren't able to buy the rights from me since I have already posted it on Jade's site and FA. No problem there: I was brought into this story an amateur and that's how I will go out. However, they did say I could send them the story, they'd print it out, slap on a simple cover and BANG...the entire trilogy in one nice neat little product.
Why am I bothering you about this? Because I want to know if any of you would be interested in buying one. No, I don't know exactly how much it would cost at this point. It kind of depends on how many people would be interested. I can promise you all one thing, though: I'm not in it for the profit. I would not charge you any more than what it cost me per unit, plus what it costs to ship it to you.
Once I complete 'part three', I am going to send the wonderful gent I spoke to the page count and at that time I'll be able to get a better idea. Still, before I commit to buy some, I would like to know if it would be worth it.
Again, I don't have a price, but I am guessing (emphasis on the GUESSING) they shouldn't be anymore than $30 apiece; that's probably on the high side, but I'd rather overshoot and then have it be less expensive in the end. Therefore, if you are interested and have a small amount of funds you could spend, let me know.
Oh yeah, and consider this the 'two minute warning': the next time I bother you via journal, it will be to announce that the saga of Cody Carrington is complete.
Thank you for your attention! :D

Here we go again...
Posted 14 years agoAs you may have seen in a few of the comments posted in reference to 'Red Sentience', I had hoped to pen a third and final piece to the saga of Cody. The idea of a trilogy really appealed to me, but that meant working out a few logistics, getting the time to write and so on.
Well, I'm happy to report that I am in the think of it all over again. I just completed the prologue and first chapter of the yet-to-be-named final installment. I am not sure how long it will take to complete. I have a feeling this will be the longest of the three, as the first chapter is running around 14 pages in length(12pt, TNR, ss). For the sake of comparison, 'Blue Glow' averaged about 8 pages a chapter and 'Red Sentience' had a rate of about 10.5.
I am really liking the elements I have incorporated into the synopsis. Playing with a few different styles and aspects, some new emotions... Should be interesting to write as I'm not completely sure what's awaiting me around the corner.
Any-who, that's all for now. I will keep my progress updated in the top section of my page. I will likely send out a quick journal entry as I get closer to the end.
Until then, thanks for all the watches and support! ^_^

'Red Sentience' Update
Posted 14 years agoOkay...
The finish line is in sight. I am really shocked at how quick this has come together. It's probably in part because I've had pieces of the plot swimming around in my head for a year or so, even before I finished 'Blue Glow.'
Right now, I have eight of the ten planned chapters roughed out. The final two should go fairly quick since those have (for the most part) been written in my brain for a while. After this, I'll slap on a postlogue, pen a preface and of course, the obligatory proof-reading. Still, I think I'm on the downhill slide.
I could have the story ready for editing by this next weekend. Theoretically, with any luck, I could start posting it in a couple weeks. I'm thinking of going with a chapter-a-week sort of route. That way, it won't be so daunting to those who want a quicker read. (It will likely be around 130-135 pages [ss, TNR, 12pt. doc] when all is said and done.)
Anyway, expect the next update to be something along the lines of "It's done!" ^_^
Thank you for your time!

New Novel in the Works: 'Red Sentience'
Posted 14 years ago'lo all!
Just thought I'd let you amazing people know I have been hacking away at a follow-up to 'Blue Glow'. As you probably formulated by the title, it is titled 'Red Sentience'. It picks up a while down the road (time-wise) and follows Cody through a new adventure in childhood.
I don't want to give away too much. If I do, then I will feel as if the story has already been told and then, what's the point of writing it? So, no spoilers here. :)
I waited until I was through enough of it where I could feel confident in saying that it definitely will be finished. Actually, it has gone really smoothly (knock on wood). Of the twelve sections I've planned (a prologue, ten chapters and a postlogue), I've rough drafted the prologue and the first four chapters. That comes out to be about 53 pages, single spaced, 12 pt font, So, yeah...things are going all right. :)
Anyway, I may be hitting a patch in the near future where I won't be able to make writing my top priority. However, I do have all my ideas down and I know exactly where to go from here. If all goes as planned, I could have it written and proof-read in a month or two. *fingers crossed*
So, there you have it! Thanks to all who have given me a watch and especially to those who have left the compliments; they mean so much and I appreciate them immensely! ^_^
Thanks!
