I don't bother making 'lists of people' or 'lists of friends' because honestly, those things are a bullshitty way to try and rub into everyone else's face who ISN'T your friend more than who is. Seriously. FEEL BAD IF YOU DO ONE OF THESE, because no matter WHO you include on, you are going to forget someone who thought they were important to you. You're going to hurt their feelers. And no one needs hurt feelers on Thanksgiving.
I'm dedicating this journal to everyone who reads it, of course, and all of the people who ever talk to me. But mostly I'm dedicating it to forgotten, undervalued friends. Also people who are alone or who are working this holiday.

More MFFing!
Posted 13 years agoI had an amazing time with people! Mostly being my roomates, Keden, and Azu! Kitsunia was there for a day too! I was introduced to the amazingness that is tabletop gaming. We played Smallworld and Munchkin Quest and they were both pretty fun, although the latter is a little more complicated and long than I like. I definitely prefer the original.
I don't know, we went out for foods, the pizza was great and now I want it and cannot have it, we went to the casino and won, and then decided to drive home at 4AM instead of sleeping for two or three hours and THEN driving. Which turned out to be the right choice.
I even drew in someone's sketchbook.
I'm not talking about a lot of shenanigans and amazing shit that happened because other people do it better than me and I'm pretty lazy and tired. And I'm kind of pleased that I did not entirely PMS my way through the con, although I was pretty grumpy or snarly at times, and I really appreciate people not holding it against me. <3

I also like to avoid large crowds, so if I turn you down please don't take it personally! I really hate slamming restaurants with parties of 6+.

Posted 13 years agoI've decided I'm going to tentatively open up for these cute grump loaf things. I need a name for them, wow, because every time I try to describe them, it sounds weird. They are like these:

Right now I'm only able to draw the loafs, but perhaps soon I'll expand to something more exciting, like sitting. I might do experimenting on you if you commission me!
These'll be simplified versions of your character! I can do wings also. Doesn't need to be dragon, but definitely looks best as a quadruped animal! If you're an anthro and want one, I can easily turn you into one using magic artist powers. However, I have a lot of trouble with 'bug' type animals and taurs! ;; Sorry if you are one of them! I just do them no justice.
These will be $15. They don't take me long, hour and a half at most, and hopefully I'll get faster!
I am, however, only opening for five at a time! So send me a note saying that you want one along with as many character references as you please, and what text you'd like to have, if any! Archer-themed Badges (Great for MFF's theme!) - $15-$20 (Depending on complexity). I will cover printing, laminating, and deliver these at MFF! Just let me know your favorite character (or leave it up to me), and I'll turn you into a badass ISIS agent.
Shaded single-character pinup images begin at $40.
---For something a little more complex shading or character-wise, prices begin at $50.
---Want a detailed background? Add $10
---Want multiple characters? Add $20 per character. UNLESS you want one of my characters, Oni or Ary - then add only $10.

Posted 13 years agoSo, suddenly, it looks like going to FC in January is a possibility! Some friends found a nice ticket price... but still, it is a $600 trip in travel costs alone. @.@

I haven't decided what I'll do. I'm thinking a free flat-colored single character image, and hey, if you felt like throwing - say - $20 at me, I'd shade it and put a background in as well! But anyways, the first person to send me a screenshot of the 20,000th pageview (or the closest number to it) will get a drawing!

Should I do an auction, or have a flat buyout?
Or an auction with an instant buyout price?
If I do an auction, how long should it be up for?
Are you more interested in purchasing a solo pinup, or taking a role with other, possibly random characters?
Or are people even interested in these as a whole? I must admit that for me they are nice and give me the opportunity to draw poses or scenarios that I personally enjoy, but I don't know if the idea appeals to potential clients! Is there anything you guys would like to see changed with the process? Maybe more input, choosing a background, etc?
I am very curious! Would appreciate any answers!

keziah is currently in danger of losing her house and worst of all - her daughter. Her parents are kicking her out of the house, but she can't move anywhere yet because they've also given her a court summons to decide the guardianship of her child.

My husband calls me Oni as well! I'm also called many different variations of Andrea by many different people.
2. How tall are you?
Not tall enough to see on top of the refrigerator or reach the top shelves. 8(
3. Natural hair color? (if you can remember it)
Darkish brown!
4. What about eye color?
Hazel. The green-to-brown ratio depends on what I'm wearing, I guess.
5. What orientation are you?
Very much straight, though I go through phases of bi-curiosity.
6. Are you single, taken, or undecided?
I am happily married!
7. What do you do in your spare time?
I will happily read for hours if I can find a comfy and warm spot. I also play a few video games, will occasionally draw for money and pleasure, and go hunting.

All the food ever so I'm constantly eating and never die?
Really, various soups... chicken tortilla, zuppa, tomato basil bisque, beef and barley... like one cup of almost every soup ever, and a grilled cheese or some kind of bread to dip in said soups.

In reality, I would love a Toyota Prius c, because I don't want to buy gas any more than I absolutely have to. If I were choosing something with a little more 'oomph' and didn't care about gas, I would totally choose a Dodge Charger, especially if it were outfitted like the police's.

Moths of any type. Also butterflies. Let's further this by saying 'any flying bug'. Also, all bugs.
28. Most hated pet peeves?
While my 'trigger' is definitely cheating of any kind, my biggest pet peeve is All People Ever. There's just too many for me to list! People that don't read, people that only read if there's a dragon in the book, people that won't play games because omg you kill a dragon...

I thought I just answered this question. ALL. PEOPLE. People that drink and drive, people that use drugs in the workplace, people who pirate games and try to justify it, people who hate cats...

Posted 13 years agoI'm looking for input on what you guys would like to see me draw for the whole 'draw it again' meme! If anything, I mean. ._. I don't really even mind if it was someone's commission or trade; I just think it'd be fun to redo something.
Art's going really slow. I'm working on
thedrake's commissions, but it's going slow. The second image is nearly finished, though - yay!
The reason for everything being superslow is that I've gotten a job. It's okay. Not great. I'm actually looking for another one now... I'm not really cut out for the 'factory' workstyle. Standing in one place for ten hours a day is wreaking havoc on my feet and back. Debating going back to school to get some kind of degree... but I don't really even know what I want.
I guess the nice thing is that it's ten hour days, so I do get three day weekends!
Anyways. I might end up doing some freebie stuff for the people in the Dragons of War series because I feel so damn bad about taking so long with it.
I don't know what to say. =F

I'm seeking for nine volunteers for a series of four commissions I am going to be doing. There's a few requirements, so make sure and check those out before you volunteer - and keep in mind, sadly, this isn't free!
Requirements:
- Must be a dragon
- Must be feral/quadruped
- Must be okay with themes of war, battle, and death. Your character WILL be roughed up - possibly more than a bit!
- This is hand-to-hand fighting, so no magic powers or breath weapons! Sorry guys!
The 'fee' for this is $10, and you will appear in the four images I'm doing! If you think about it, this is basically you paying $2.50 per image, which, while I may be biased, is quite a steal!
If I do not get a full nine people, the image will be complete - I'll just use some random dragon designs, but it'd be much more fun with peoples' actual characters!

I Hate Kale
Posted 14 years agoWho eats this junk? It has like no use. I mean, you throw it in your zuppa tuscana and all, but really, wouldn't spinach work just the same? I feel like it completely throws off the flavor, unless you're crazy and like the taste of leaves.
Also, it takes forever to soften. I hate crunchy vegetables in my soups.

Why do we ink?
Posted 14 years agoSomething I was talking about with a few people last night. Why do we ink? Why do we convert sketches to lineart, instead of keeping them sketches?
For me, I feel like I lose feeling with my lineart. For example, the picture I recently submitted with Oni:
