One-Scene Wonder Story Commissions are GO!
Posted 12 years agoI'm officially putting the one-scene wonder story commission idea into operation. Five slots, same as before, but for $5 each. That $5 gets you a story that focuses on one scene/location/event of at least 1000 words. If you want one, send me a note or respond on this journal. Send me your story idea and I'll write a draft for your approval. I'll change up the draft as needed and once everything's in order I'll send you the final and my Paypal info. The whole idea is to turn over these commissions as quickly as possible.
The scene can be smutty or non-smutty. No extreme violence, copyrighted/corporate characters, underage characters, or bathroom-related bodily functions, please. All genres are fair game.

New Conmission Idea (One Scene Wonders)
Posted 12 years agoI've been thinking of different ways to solicit commissions, ones that might sync up better with my writing style and schedule. Watching sketch streams gave me one: doing stories that focus on one scene, painting a word picture in 1000 words or less for 5 bucks. Does that sound like a good plan to you all?
Edit: Just to clarify, this scene could be smut, a fight, a conversation, a meet-cute, or just about anything else.

They're Extinct but They're Proud of You
Posted 12 years agoQuick Species Poll
Posted 12 years agoI'm working on a new short piece, hopefully to be up tomorrow or this weekend, but I wanted to take a quick stock of what people were looking for. What species are you guys more interested in seeing right now? Should I stick with mink for this tale or is there another kind of critter you would like to see in the lead role?
How Do I Feel? :)
Posted 12 years agoYep, that about sums it up. Things are fantastic. Job situation is good, financial situation is good, social situation is good...now I just need to get the writing situation back in order. Still willing to do them thar story commissions!

Commission Reminder
Posted 12 years agoGood news, everyone! I'm out of that shitty job!
Bad news, everyone! I have no income!
Just a reminder that I'm ready to try story commissions again. Check my front page for prices; help a starving mink out if you can. :)

Legend of the lost commission
Posted 12 years agoHey all, do you remember
Greif? Had a nice, sexy style, seemed to be an up-and-comer on the site a few years back, then deleted her gallery without notice, absconding with the money she'd made on commissions and leaving many commissioners without the pictures they'd paid for? I got a commission from her and actually saw the finished product before she poofed, but I didn't have the presence of mind to save it beforehand. If you or someone you know have any saved copies of Greif's work, can you check through to see if you have mine? It's just something that's bugged me in the back of my mind for a long time.
In other news, story commissions are still available, and I won't be vanishing in the foreseeable future. :)

I'm gonna try this ONE MORE TIME (story commissions)
Posted 12 years agoOk, my record is shit when it comes to doing commissions. You know it, I know it, Bob Dole knows it. But I'd really like to get some extra income, even a few bucks, since my new job sucks. So, taking a cue from
Milkjunkie, I'm going to offer five story commissions at $10 per 2000 words. If I don't actually turn these around, that's it, no more chances for me.
Anyways, the drill. To get an idea of what I'll, look at my gallery and faves. No excessively gross fetishes. All genres are good. Note me or reply here.

Update! (Housing, Icon, Misc.)
Posted 13 years agoI have all the motor oil I could ever need. I just hope the space chickens don't get into it.
ANYWAYS I found a house! Group living seems to be the wave of the future and I'm eager to give it a try. Everyone seems very friendly and eager to have me on board. Freaky coincidence: one of the housemates is the twin brother of someone I knew in college. The world's just funny sometimes.
So, what's up with you?

Minkis in Mobili (househunting)
Posted 13 years agoIs there anyone in the Northern Virginia area looking for a room/housemate? My new job takes me out of DC, so I've been looking for lodgings back in NoVa. Wacky hijinks are assured!
*Kermitflail*
Posted 13 years agoI got myself a new job! This last gig has been a huge drain on everything; it's like a lead weight has dropped off my shoulders. Let's hope it's also a weight off my writing hand. ;)
Minksgiving!
Posted 13 years agoThe turkey is stuffed, the pig is glazed, the buns are in the oven...and dinner's almost ready, too! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
Feeling Sandy
Posted 13 years agoWork's been cancelled tomorrow! Along with practically everything else in the DC metro area! Means I can finally sit down to bang out my Halloween stories. :3
Thank You!
Posted 13 years agoSince it would take me some time to thank everyone for the faves on Cougr's pic of Orbital and the subsequent watches, I'll just say it en masse: Thank you! Now I hope I can come up with a Halloween story that gets the same reaction... <3
7 Minutes Well-Spent (with Alan Rickman)
Posted 13 years agoTMI Tuesday (just a bit)
Posted 13 years agoI just saw something that I think explains a lot about how I ended up where I am today. This barely qualifies as Too Much Information since most of it is just context.
One of my favorite movies growing up was Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. No, not the Disney version. Not the Rankin-Bass animated version either. My favorite was a 1985 animated made-for-TV version produced by Burbank Studios in Australia, which pumped out an average of two movies a year during the eighties and then folded. Why we even had it is still a mystery to me.
Anyways, I just put it on this evening for nostalgia's sake and noticed something that I'd never (consciously?) noticed before: in one of the opening scenes, around the 3:45 minute mark, Professor Arronax and Conseil are climbing out of their carriage on the way to board the Abraham Lincoln. Featured prominently in the background is the prow of a ship, decorated with a figurehead of a mermaid with HUGE FREAKING TITS. Seriously, they are bigger than her head. And no scallop-shell bikinis or Godiva hair; big, fat nipples all over the place.
I must have watched this movie hundreds of times. Every time, right at the start, ridiculous juicy boobs. My love of gazongas makes a lot more sense now. I need to watch the rest of the movie and see if there's anything else I missed. If there's a statue or something with a giant dong, I'm going to flip the fuck out.

Gift List! (Birthday followup)
Posted 13 years agoMy girlfriend got me a copy of Arkham Horror! I only started playing a while ago, but I already love it.
I'll update this journal later with the other stuff I get, 'cause that's obviously what I should be doing instead of writing. X3

It's Muh Birthday!
Posted 13 years agoIn about an hour or so, I'll be 24! So yeah, I think this officially finds me in my mid-twenties; couldn't ask for a better time or place, too! I'm on the Outer Banks with my family and girlfriend, enjoying the tail end of a week's vacation.
I really, REALLY need to find a new job or get a promotion. Without this break, I think I would have hit meltdown. Progress seems to completely evade me and our office in general. So frustrating.
But whatevs! That's in the future. I'm just going to enjoy the moment for now.
