I am a COLORING Artist!
Posted 5 years agoI feel like for every 1 person the recognizes me as a coloring artist (those people mean the world to me!) I feel like I have 8 people trying to commission me to draw something.
If you want work from me get a different artist to do the lines then come to me for color.

I rarely type out Journals but thought I would to explain how Tuesday Mornings current coloring came to be.
I have always been honored that Black-Kitten allowed me to color Monday Mornings! It was a learning experience and to be able to color such amazing work is just satisfying! He draws my favorite expressions and his lines are impossible to color poorly. I'm so glad I was also allowed to join in the Beach Trip comic by him, that I also colored. :3
Of course when Tuesday Mornings started coming out, I asked if I could color that too, and he said yes!! :D This was forever ago at this point because after I started coloring I ran into life things such as depression, lack of free time, and a rough relationship. But I still plucked away at it whenever I could. I kept the progress all unposted until I had it finished, but eventually when I got a Telegram Channel I started posting the progress there.
Eventually I get some messages while I am streaming about someone else doing their own color. I honestly forgot about it, then stumbled upon FluffyTuft's coloring progress on e621. At first I was a little upset because I was already doing a coloring and I did the first and whatnot. But then I looked at his work again and loved the details he was adding and did not want that to go to waste. I contacted him and he was more than happy to join in on the collaboration! He also has a Zootopia comic and other amazing work, go check him out!
Picking up some more amazing talent should have made me start coloring faster. I was motivated to, but all those life things were still factors. But over the past year I have came out of the furry closet, started going to cons, developing amazing friends in the community, and got out of that relationship. So I have been feeling better! Over the past month or so I kicked into overdrive and finished the last 8 pages and got the comic finished. No delay from FluffyTuft, he is fast and amazing!
The comic is finished and posting is starting VERY SOON! I thank you all for your patience in my massive delay at finishing/posting. (I mean Wednesday is already finished lol) I will be posting 2 pages a week, 1 on Tuesdays and 1 on Thursdays.

1. Thank you so much for almost 100 favorites in 11 hours on the After the Beach pic and for your activity on my other commissions! The new watchers are very much appreciated as well! I have also been getting some paid commissions, the recent bird ones and some future ones. That is new and exciting :3 Really though, thank you guys so much!
2. I am trying to stream every Friday at 9om CST. I have been streaming at other times as well, and have a Telegram Channel where I send notifications only when I am streaming. Hiatusness of the Owlalope (Tuesday Mornings Update)
Posted 7 years agoI am so sorry to all the peoples who have been waiting patiently for Tuesday Mornings (and now Wednesday Mornings) to be colored. I want to see it done too, and trust me, it will happen. Over half of it has already been colored by me with amazing shading/lighting effects by FluffyTuft. I am just holding off on releasing it until we are close to finished because I want to release either a page a day or bi-weekly. The progress we have done is below the post.
I feel so bad about how inactive I have been lately, and I have been missing streaming/coloring so much! I have just been struggling with finding alone time. I am super introverted and me and my gf end up having company over a bit too much and the free time I do find I always end up having to clean the house. Note to Coloring Artists: CONTACT ALL ARTISTS INVOLVED WITH THE PIECE YOU PLAN TO COLOR AND MAKE SURE THEY, AND THE PARTIES INVOLVED WITH THE PIECE, CONSENT TO YOUR COLORING OF SAID PIECE!!!
This isn't meant to be a rant, more of a word of advice. Back in the day I used to just find lines I liked and color them then upload them. Then I had an artist contact me that was unhappy that I colored a piece he had commissioned, so I removed it, then started asking people. I colored a piece by Scappo (crappily since it was forever ago) and then contacted him after it was done. I lucked out, he gave me permission, but in his message he mentioned that it was uncool to post a colored version of his art without his permission. Hearing that from an artist I have loved since the early thousands made the point clear. From that point on I had more of a grasp of how artists themselves feel about getting their art colored. Some artists out there release some colored art and some B&W art, and they do not wish for anyone to color their work because they consider it "done". As a coloring artist I don't personally see most of these pieces as "done" because on a personal level I love to see color in art. I am not negating their views of their art being in a complete state, it was just the driving force that got me to start coloring, I wanted to see art that wasn't in color in color! Then there are some artists out there that exclusively draw lines and allow anyone to color them, that is personally awesome in my eyes. I am all about open and sharing when it comes to the art community. But that brings me onto my next point. As a coloring artist I have run into my first case of someone stepping into a project I have been working on that I have all intentions on finishing. That is Tuesday Mornings. I am not trying to dis the artist that has also taken up coloring the comic, I just wish they would have contacted me before they started because at this point everyone is familiar with my style, which has improved since Monday Mornings. As I said, not trying to bash on said artist in any way, it just makes me feel odd that there are going to be 2 different colored versions of the same comic out there.
On a side note, the person's coloring has incredible lighting and shading, so I contacted them if they would like to put our works together to end up with a collaboration!

What is a Furry? What is a Fursona? (Tumblr Q&As)

Q: I have a question and I think that you are the best to answer this... so I'm not a furry, but I like reading NSFW furry comics. Does that make me a furry/ is it weird that I read it and I'm not a furry?
A: I have always considered Furry a very fluid term. I think there are are several sub-categories of the culture, and it it is up to the individual on whether they consider themselves a Furry or not. Some of those aforementioned sub-categories would be Wears a Fursuit(s), Has a Fursona(s), Enjoys Furry Art (Story/Theme or Illustrations), Creates Furry Art in some way, or Involvement in the Furry Community in any way. People may have some of those traits, yet not consider themselves a furry, I have seen it and I don't judge! :P
Q: What's a fursona?
A: A fursona is a persona created for the furry community. It is usually an animal that the person feels closest with, or is their spirit animal. It could also be a mixture of animals, both fiction and non-fiction. The personalities of these fursonas could either be loosely based off their irl personalities, or be a complete reinvention of one's self. Some people also create multiple fursonas, and depending on how they are feeling, or other factors, they identify as these separate 'sonas. Much like the decision to consider yourself a furry, there is no concrete template to how a fursona works, it is mostly up to the individual.
