Goodbye Jagermeister
Posted 12 years agoAfter a couple of weeks battling seizures, it turned out that our shepherd Jager had an aggressive brain tumor and was rapidly deteriorating.
We put him to sleep this morning. Please keep our dog friend in your thoughts, and hope he's found a better place.

New house!
Posted 12 years ago
pup1k and I just bought a house! Exciting times are ahead :3King's Island and Cedar Point
Posted 13 years agoWe just got back from a roller coaster trip to Ohio, filled with a lot of firsts!
First time at King's Island, first time stuck on a roller coaster (Flight of Fear), first time we got fast lane passes at Cedar Point (first time we rode Maverick more than once!)... what a fun time!
Next roller coaster trip will probably be back to Six Flags New Jersey for another run at El Toro! :D

Merry Christmas!
Posted 14 years agoTwas the night before Christmas,
when all through the den
not a critter was stirring, not even a hen.
I wish a very Merry Christmas to all of you!

Dinner was success!
Posted 14 years agoWe had a big dinner last night, completely filled the doghouse to the brim. :
Pup1k: made Aged Prime Rib (!), turkey, ham, cheddar cheese soup, green bean casserole and stuffing. :
TahoeTaxidinae: brought some amazing slow cooked corn. Other fluffies brought maple carrots, and a whole stack of delicious pies.
We all wined and dined and champagned until food comas set in. To our wonderful friends, to a great 2011, and to an even better 2012 coming up!

FurFright Recap
Posted 14 years agoBest con so far!
I had my tussle with the ceiling fan, but I'll get my revenge somehow ;)
It was so awesome to see so many friends and to meet new ones. And for anyone who comes back next year, you should TOTALLY try Oyama Japanese Steakhouse nearby, very tasty hibachi!
Next up: MFF

New camper trailer, with free project included!
Posted 14 years agoThis weekend,
pup1k and I bought a new camper trailer. This one has hard sides, a full kitchen with large fridge, a bathroom, and all the accouterments you could ask for...except a floor.
But the price was right (read: dirt cheap) so with the help of
manikwolf, we started disassembling what we have and planning a new floor.
Along the way, we'll probably pimp the camper: upgraded seating, new sound system, maybe a tv... Ooh ooh how about gullwing doors and spinner rims? :D

Where to next?
Posted 14 years agoGot back from MegaPlex yesterday. We had a really fun time around the con and orlando!
It was especially nice to put names with faces for those of you I meet for the first time :)
So with the con behind me, where to next? A cruise? Mountain climbing? Road trip?
What's your next big adventure?

Fursuit commissions
Posted 17 years ago
pup1k and I have decided to open up fursuit commissions! We will take a maximum of three at a time, starting from a base price of $900 and up. Spottyfox productions promises a quick turnaround time, and great fursuit quality!
Send a message to either
pup1k or myself, or email me at padfox (at) spottyfox (dot) com, and we will get with you and help you design a fuzzy friend that will be with you for years of cons and activities!Homemade recipes
Posted 18 years agoFollowing is my faaaavorite recipe for Mac & Cheese. So nummy :3
This is a response to
keto 's comfort food journal; I offered to trade this recipe for someone else's and I'm keeping up my end of the bargain :3
* 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, plus more for dish
* 3 good white bread, crusts removed, torn into 1/4- to 1/2-inch pieces
* 2 1/4 cups milk
* 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoons salt
* 1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
* 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
* 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
* 2 1/4 cups grated sharp white cheddar cheese, (about 9 ounces)
* 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese, (about 4 ounces)
* 1/2 pound elbow macaroni
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Butter a casserole dish and set aside. Place bread in a medium bowl. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoons butter. Pour butter into bowl with bread, and toss. Set breadcrumbs aside.
2. In a medium saucepan set over medium heat, heat milk. Melt remaining 6 tablespoons butter in a high-sided skillet over medium heat. When butter bubbles, add flour. Cook, whisking, 1 minute.
3. While whisking, slowly pour in hot milk. Continue cooking, whisking constantly, until the mixture bubbles and becomes thick.
4. Remove pan from heat. Stir in salt, nutmeg, black pepper, cayenne pepper, 3 cups cheddar cheese, and 3/4 cup Gruyere. Set cheese sauce aside.
5. Fill a large saucepan with water; bring to a boil. Add macaroni; cook until al-dente. Transfer macaroni to a colander, rinse under cold running water, and drain well. Stir macaroni into the reserved cheese sauce
6. Pour mixture into prepared dish. Sprinkle remaining 3/4 cup cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup Gruyere, and breadcrumbs over top. Bake until browned on top, about 20-30 minutes.

Fursuit head progress!
Posted 18 years agoHi!
Well, I'm pretty much done carving my next fursuit head, and I decided to put some progress shots together with a little narrative to make a progress journal :)
If you're curious, you can check it out at http://www.renofurries.com/rugby
Please excuse the complete lack of actual design. I'm being lazy :)

Posted 18 years agoThanks to everyone who commented and faved the pics of my suits :)
A lot of people have been asking me if I do (or will do) fursuit commissions, and here's the scoop on that:
I would LOVE to take fursuit commissions, but I'm not quite ready to do so yet. I want to get a couple more heads under my belt to clear up some of the issues that I'm nitpicking on Padfox and to see if this wasn't just a fluke.
I also need to redevelop a few aspects of suits which were based heavily on other fursuit maker's concepts; I don't want to be an idea thief!
I'm working on another head this weekend, and although I doubt it'll be done that fast (I'm taking this one a lot more slowly), I think I'll be able to work out the things that bother me about my last head. I have a lot of ideas that are just bubbling up :3
So, for the TL;DR people: I'm not taking commissions YET, but keep your eye on me and I might open them sometime soon :3
Thanks again for your support!

Fondue and New Suits Already?
Posted 18 years agoSaturday night
pup1k and I finally got the opportunity to thank my sweatshop staff... erm, I mean, friends properly for all the effort you put in!
rooboy
cyxthedragon and
tahoetaxidinae came over, watched movies, and partook of a 3 course meal of fondue. Puppy, it was wonderful!
Last night I started the base for another head, which will be a remake of an old classic. Pictures will be up.... not nearly as fast as for Padfox, because there's no WAY I'm doing another suit that fast!
Anybody have any ideas on how to integrate a bottle opener into a fursuit head? >3

Karaoke in Super Awesome Youtube Video!
Posted 18 years agoHere's the video of the Karaoke from Saturday.
pup1k and I sang "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". Just be forewarned - we were QUITE liquored up and tone deaf at that point!
Enjoy :3

This time around we've picked up the 80s version, so prepared for some big hair rocking videos soon XD

Karaoke!
Posted 18 years agoTo celebrate the creation of Padfox, we had a little party on Saturday to thank everyone who worked in my sweatshop all week to get him done on time :3
Special thanks go out to
rooboy and
cyxthedragon for coming out every single freakin' night to help - you guys put probably 20 hours each into helping me and you have no idea how much I appreciate it :3
Additional thanks to
tahoetaxidinae! I know you'd have helped me more if school weren't in the way, but you stayed for the long haul on Wednesday night!
So we threw a little get together on Saturday (which Tahoe didn't make again *pout*) , had some Curry and some (OMGGOOD) chili cheesecake and ice wine, compliments of
pup1k, then degenerated into Mojitos.
Let me tell you something, no three words combine better than "DRUNKEN FURSUIT KARAOKE"! And for those traditionalists among us, you couldn't tell the difference between singing and howling, so we DID stay in character! HAH!
I know my head needs a few more touchups, but I think I did pretty well for my first one (and in 4 days no less). Lemme know what you think!
