I'll have more updates soon, but in the meantime, here is the synopsis for all who are curious:

A young girl, Cassie, sends messages in bottles out to sea with the hopes of them reaching her father, a fisherman, whom she misses very much. Instead, these bottles are swept away by a current and begin littering a grotto where a young merboy, Odys, has taken up residence since being separated from his own family by a recent hurricane. When Odys finally confronts Cassie about the “garbage” she’s been throwing into the water, Cassie is understandably in complete disbelief at the sight of a mermaid——or “merman”, as Odys is quick to correct her. Though their relationship begins to a rocky start, the two become fast friends, and Cassie resolves to help Odys find his way home. Along the way, Cassie discovers the true depths of her own family’s dysfunction.
