She really is a great artist and an even better friend, such a sweet, sweet gal so you should go and check her stuff out, throw her some faves, maybe a watch, and if you find yourself impressed, go ahead and send her a PM inquiring about the headshots she's selling tonight.

Movie Inspired Feels!
Posted 9 years agoSo first off, I haven't been very active here for a few months and that's for a multitude of various personal reasons I won't get into here. I just needed to put something up that's more recent than almost half a year ago! XD
Anyways, so last night I was down in the dumps (again personal reasons) and was in one of those moods where I could have done any number of different activities but everything just seemed... blegh? I'm sure people have experienced this before to some degree. Where everything you think of to do just makes you go, "Hohum, BORING :/ ". So I just kinda Eeny Meeny Miny Moe-ed a movie to watch last night and ended up on that Inside Out movie that came out a little while ago (2015?).
Let me tell you, that movie was great! Really tugged on my heartstrings and even though not all of the feels the movie gave me were happy ones (which is kinda the point of the movie imo) it helped to get me out of that "blegh"/unfeeling state.
So if you haven't seen this movie yet, I'd highly recommend it! Even of you're NOT feeling blegh, lol. Cx But definitely give it a go if you're feeling that blegh, emotionless vibe. All in all, it's a great flick!

MFF Here I Come!!!

Things are finally coming together and the excitement is building! After my surprise layoff (a good surprise, don't worry!) and then the holiday weekend kinda had me on my heels with making a solid thing of all these loose plans I had made much earlier in the year when I thought MFF was just a pipe dream. A few emails, skype chats, and phone calls later we have a room full of furries to minimize expenses and maximize the fun! =^_^=
So for those of you who don't know, I'll be road tripping my way out to Chicago from Frederickburg, VA, my hometown, with a pitstop about an hour or so Southwest of Kansas City to pick up two of those furries, my furbro John and his BAE. I'm leaving super early tomorrow morning and we should be arriving in Chicago around 3pm Thursday and will be staying until late morning Monday.
Now when we first arrive, I'm probably gonna be pretty bushed because one half of this trip for me is about 28 hours of driving and ~1,600 miles. And when we get there Thursday, we won't even be in the con hotel, we'll be in the Aloft down the street some.
As luck would have it, someone I watch on IB and here on FA were asking if anyone had a place to crash for the con and so I offered. 24 hours and a lot of shifting plans, the dust settled and the end result was much better than where we started. Turns out from Friday until Monday me and my buds will be IN the Hyatt!!! I never DREAMED I'd be able to stay in the hosting hotel when the rooms filled up in no more than like 30 mi, lol.
So a shout out to my new friend Carrot for working their magic because it's 100% because of him we got that room. So thank you Carrot!!! =^u^=
Welp, as I sit here waiting for my car to finish getting detailed, I'm looking at what I have left to do compared to what I've accomplished so far and I'm feeling pretty darn good about this. All that's left is to get some road snacks/drinks, pack my suitcase, pack the car, and then just double check everything in the morning! Yes, things ARE finally coming together, all the late calls and planning meetings all over the internet, all the cleaning and organizing, all the lists (I've checked them twice!) I've made... all this effort was totally worth it! =^w^=
So with that, I leave you all and hope that everyone has a wonderful week and weekend regardless if you're attending MFF or not. If you're doing any travelling, as far as I am or not, be safe and have fun!

MFF '15 Badge Artists?
Posted 10 years agoHey everyone! I know it's really last minute, but I now know for CERTAIN I will be attending MFF '15 this year! Hooray! =^_^=
Now this is my first convention ever and first furry convention too so I'm not really sure how the badge thing works. Will I be able to get one there do you think? Is it too late to have one commissioned and maybe mailed to the hotel I'll be staying at?
If any con vets have any info and would like to share, I'm all ears! Or if you know any artists who are offering badges at the con or who might be able to get one done and mailed in time would be awesome too!
Hopefully I'll be seeing some of you there and hopefully we'll all have a blast!

I still have a bunch more to submit but I'm trying to do my best to space them out. I have spent the past 2 years collecting art of Xander through commissions and gift art and now I'm finally in a place where I feel comfortable sharing it publicly. Cx
The pieces that are gifts hold a special place in my heart, because there's nothing like an unexpected gift to make you feel special and loved and each and everyone of them did just that for me. I look back and not only are the works pretty and extremely well done, but I can feel all those moments ts of friendship between me and those artists, the long all-night chats about non furry stuff, understanding gripes, brainstorming how to achieve goals and live life to the fullest.
Basically what I'm saying, is if you get gift art it should be more than just an image to ehow, it should be something that bolsters you every time you see it. All of these do that for me and I'll treasure them always! =^_^=
Like I said, I've got more to post but I am doing my best to dole them out a couple at a time. I hope that you guys continue to enjoy them as they come and feel free to fave and please please PLEASE check out the other character owners and especially the artists who put the time, skill, frindeship, and love into these pieces! ;) -shameless plugging puma is shamelss-

Then the last night, or at least vague images and sensations from the last night, come dripping into your conciousness slowly but steadily until you STILL have no idea where you are but you've developed a deep seated feeling of shame and disgust for yourself?
For me, this morning is one of those mornings. >.<

Yes but it was less of a teenage angst thing. while I was still in the Army, some buddies and I got drunk and we're watching Predator. You remember that part where the big Apache dude stopped over the ravine to make a stand against the alien? He takes this big ass bouey knife and slices a long cut across his chest. It started us talking about how many movies we've seen where the hero is so bad ass he can inflict pain on himself to save the day (or just generally be a badass) like John McLain shooting himself in the shoulder to kill the bad guy at the end of Live Free or Die Hard, or the numerous times you see similar stuff. We started talking about whether we would have the guys to do something like that so we tried it, lol. I decided to try it on my forearm and ended up doing like half a dozen really shallow slow drags with a borrowed knife. It hurt like hell and everyone else and I hypothesized that maybe a quick slash would be better. So I did that and probably should have gone to get stitches, lol. It was totally dumb and now I have a huge scar on my left forearm but now I know that shizz ain't as cool as you think it is AND a quick slash is better than a slow drag. Useless information imo. >.<

It started us talking about how many movies we've seen where the hero is so bad ass he can inflict pain on himself to save the day (or just generally be a badass) like John McLain shooting himself in the shoulder to kill the bad guy at the end of Live Free or Die Hard, or the numerous times you see similar stuff. We started talking about whether we would have the guys to do something like that so we tried it, lol. I decided to try it on my forearm and ended up doing like half a dozen really shallow slow drags with a borrowed knife. It hurt like hell and everyone else and I hypothesized that maybe a quick slash would be better. So I did that and probably should have gone to get stitches, lol. It was totally dumb and now I have a huge scar on my left forearm but now I know that shizz ain't as cool as you think it is AND a quick slash is better than a slow drag. Useless information imo. >.<

Posted 10 years agoSo I realized that my last journal is no longer current. I'm no longer sick as a dog (which is REALLY sick for a feline) and feeling much better.
I seem to have developed allergies now that all the pollen is kicking after all the rain has been coming through Northern Virginia. But that's completely manageable with over the counter med and eye drops. Just have to maintain some personal discipline so I don't try to rub my eyes and I'll be alright.
Work has been good, now that the rain has slowed for a bit. For those of you who don't know, my job is directly effected by the weather, too much wet and I can't work until it dries out. Several weeks in the past two months have been pretty meager in the pay department because of losing 2-3 shifts every week due to rain. So I'm looking forward to really putting some hours in and getting that $$$ to actually live a life again. XD
Well, that's about it, for anyone who's watching me who cares. If you don't care, lol, just disregard this posting!

Sick Puma is Sick

Picked up a headcold all decked out with chills and a fever Tuesday morning after work. I went to bed Tuesday morning thinking my sinus issue was maybe just an allergy flare. Then I woke up three hours later to find I had sweat the bed. :/ Rolled over to change the sheets and almost hit the floor I felt so shitty. Like that utter body fatigue where even breathing seems like a chore? Not ashamed to say it, I just rolled over to the other side of the mattress and made my plushies sleep in the wet spot. X)
I got myself some good over the counter symptom management meds and still suffered through Tuesday night feeling like someone was trying to pop my eyeballs out by injecting massive amounts of fluid up my nose and feeling like a trip to the bathroom required a chauffer.
The fever broke this morning, which was a huge plus, because I actually got my appetite back and some good rest in before work tonight. I felt good enough that I even washed the sheets that I should have changed last night. XD
But then I went to work. I would have never imagined a job as easy as mine could be so physically draining. Everything felt like it weighed 8x its normal weight and time seemed to tick by at a snail's pace. I practically had to drag myself out of my work truck to my car. Then I battled my way through watery eyes and sneezes geared more towards blowing the back of my head off instead of clearing my nose.
Now I lie here in bed, attempting a second go at this sleep thing. Problem is, every time I'm almost asleep, a drip runs out of my nose and makes me jump. Is this what it feels like when your brain turns to mush? It comes out through your eye sockets then drains out your nose? Makes me wonder if its possible to die of dehydration from your nose... O.o
A lot of you reading this wont care, which is cool. I'm not writing this for you, I'm writing it for me, as a way of distracting myself from the discomfort I'm experiencing now, to vent some of my frustration, and to ultimately help me get to sleep. Hopefully it works.

PS: I am not dying and as bad as I have dramatised it, I am not going to the doctor yet. The fever did not get above 101°F and it lasted less than 24 hours. The sinus drainage that is accompanying the pressure/pain is still clear and watery, and not the white/grey thick mucusy snot that heralds the coming of a sinus infection. So I'm just miserable but not necessarily in dire straits. Cx

I'm talking about the swirling blackhole of having those few people who you really, REALLY want to hear from, those who apparently obliviously wormed their way deep into your heart and affections. Those who also apparently have no idea how hooked you are on them and how even a few seconds of their attention completely flips your day to the best one you've had in forever.
In actuality, feeling this way, experiencing it firsthand makes me feel like such a goddamn jackass because I've been the offending party in a similar type situation in the past. I guess maybe this is karma; letting me know that The Golden Rule is in effect at all times so watch your ass!

I understand that the law quoted at the very beginning is a true law. However I personnaly think its a stupid one that doesn't protect anyone from any real harm. The fact that they specifically named "museums" and "researchers" is a little preposterous to me. Its as if they were preparing for this issue before it ever even arose. I wonder who paid who off here to get this Section 1201 to be created and put into place formally?
I'm also disgusted that these different organizations are willing to fight against the specific exemption of certain digital entertainment museums and researchers from this Section of copyright law. Its not like its to the point where everyone is rallying for the thing to be completely thrown out, even though I believe that should happen.
This just screams of sneaky, underhanded manipulation of the government and legal system by business ventures. Let's not pretend like it doesn't happen people, we all know it does, I just can't believe it would be this blatant and over such a petty thing as keeping old videogames playable.
