OMG! WE BRING NEWS FROM THE NETHERWORLD!

Hello, P4E fans! The fact that you're reading this little journal entry reminds me why I love our fans so much. It's been such a long time, and yet, here you are, ready to find read about our newest update.

Well, here's the skinny. Things are not exactly back on track for all of us--our personal lives have gotten in the way of things. Family drama. Financial woes. Moving and whatnot. But the Montoyas have never taken defeat easily, and neither have Paws For Effect! (that's a Princess Bride joke, thar.)

It's safe to say that things are getting better, and while I wish I could give more of an update, all I can say is that we still exist, we have not been flushed down the toilet, and we are very much wanting to continue to create musical fusion. We just lack the means to do so, at the moment.

However, as you might have guessed, that will (most likely) be changing in the near future. Nick, David and I are getting together to discuss the future of the band, and hopefully start some work on new material.

Please, please, please, keep listening and don't give up on us--we swear we'll be back and rocking this summer! Thank you all SO MUCH for your support. If it weren't for you, this band wouldn't still exist.

We're finished!

We recorded the last song today.

We told you all that you guys would be the FIRST TO KNOW when the album was finished -- and you are officially the first to hear about it!

Now, we're going to master all the tracks and make sure they sound perfect. Once we're finished with that, Nick will record some acoustic solo performances of a handful of the songs.

Those acoustic songs will be bundled together with a special deal we'll be cutting to you guys -- for just $10, you'll get all 12 songs in MP3 format, PLUS you'll get an additional 7 acoustic versions of those tunes! These are special recordings that will not be available ANYWHERE ELSE... (unless people start trading those MP3s or something... freakin' pirates.)

Once we have everything ready, you'll be able to buy the album directly from us. Later on this summer, the album will be available on iTunes, and when it is, we won't be able to cut this deal anymore! So, if you want to get your paws on these special recordings, get ready to act fast! :)

Nick had a bit of a cough for the past few days, so we've taken a break - but we recorded a long song and a short song - so that's good!

Here's a tip from your friends in P4E... if you're having trouble with something, just simplify the situation!

We had been working on this third song for quite a while. We didn't get it sounding right until we cut back and made it SIMPLER. When in doubt, take a step back and let things fall naturally...

Wow, we're actually making progress.

That's 2 songs thus far!

We've got our newest, and best, version of "You Were Mine" recorded. And today, we finished up on "Firewalker". These are all brand new recordings, and they're a lot more sophisticated than what we've recorded before... we're all really excited!

We're thinking about hitting the studio again tonight to record another tune, but we also know this fact: We need to pace ourselves, or else we'll face burn out. So, it's best to take it slow. Do one song a day. Stay excited and energized. That way, we'll actually finish what we start!

At this rate, we're hoping to get the album finished in time for July. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more info! We'll be back real soon!

We officially recorded and finished our first track today. It sounds really great, if I do say so myself! Got a lot more work to do, but the hardest part is behind us.... now it's time to kick it into high gear.

...we're doing some testing today in the studio and working on our debut album. We need to get everything sounding JUST right before we start production, though. We'll be recording a test song in just a few moments.

Moves, family tragedies (which actually end well), financial issues, and a depressing few months have kept us out of the studio.

We're alive! And yes, we're working!

I'm re-working our recording set up and making some major tweaks. It's taken a long time but I think we'll be ready to start working on music again by next month. We've taken a long break but we'll be back! Nick is working on new music (at least that's what he tells us!) and David has been practicing composing some solo bass guitar tunes. (which we'll try to post soon!)

We're all really sorry to have left you guys hanging for so long!

We've relocated to a secret underground location and are now officially set up to start making more music.

And guess what?

We got a new song coming up.

David and Nick both recorded their instruments, and I recorded my drums - so now all that's left is for Nick to sing it. Once he does that... we'll post it for everyone to hear.

We're really excited to be back and we can't wait to get back into the swing of things!

Hey everyone!

We all really want to apologize for being so quiet lately - but we assure you that the wait has been well worth it!

If you guys liked our song "You Were Mine", then just wait. As a band, I think we've returned to what we do best, and a new catchy rock/pop tune is well on its way to being delivered to your ears.

We've got a new song cooked up that we're working on right now. In fact, I'm typing this while my paws are still buzzing from the feel of the drumsticks as they smack against those toms and cymbals and whatnot. It's exciting, isn't it? I just finished recording my drums, and now Nick and David are gearing up for their turn on their instruments.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled, & as always - thank you guys so much for the patience and support! We owe you one.
