Hope ya'll are having an awesome Friday - mine has been pretty cool. I signed up for conceptart.org's Level Up! program at the awesome introductory rate of $49 for three months. It's basically a collection of classes/workshops designed to take your painting and concept art skills to the next level, something I've been sorely needing. I've already learned so much in just the first composition and color/light classes - the instructor is amazing, and he explains things in a way that really makes sense to me, a person who's entirely self taught. If you have any interest at all in improving your work, I highly recommend it. The money I've put down has already proven to be worth it!

Because of this, I will be focusing most of my creative energy on these classes and assignments, meaning my normal output of PERSONAL artwork will be slowed. This DOES NOT include commissions - although I may take some extra time with the YCH to really apply what I'm learning. I'm really going to be pushing myself to bring my artwork to the next level in the coming months, and hopefully you'll be seeing the fruits of my efforts soon!

But seriously guys, I can't thank you enough for all of the support you've given me. Every watch, favorite, and comment makes me so happy, and even though I'm really bad at taking compliments or replying to things, I want you to know that you're all part of what keep me going. I'm going to improve for myself and for you guys. nwn

Heeeey guys! As you may or may not have noticed, yesterday I posted a YCH auction commissioned by :3 I encourage you to bid on it, because it's gonna be a full digital painting at the end of things, and I'm going to make it as gorgeous as possible, so don't miss out - I may not do another one of these for awhile!

Other than that, I'll be (finally) heading back home to Pittsburgh on Friday. Needless to say, I didn't have the greatest time up here in Minnesota - kinda got sick, people were being jerks, among other things. I'm seriously in need of some cuddles from my kitties. :C

One last thing - I'm looking into taking an 8 week workshop to improve my painting skills, because I'm getting to the point where I'm feeling stuck and in need of guidance/a solid mentor. Being entirely self taught is great and all, but I need to get some confidence and instruction in what I'm doing, because I've honestly felt like total shit about my work recently. Hopefully this will give me something, because I'm gonna be paying $600 for it, haha.

Hi guys! I really, really want to start taking reference sheet/concept art commissions, but I don't have any (current) examples. I'm currently working on one with a friend, but multiple examples are key! That's where you, my lovely watchers come in!

Have an awesome character idea? An idea for a brand new species? Can't afford a reference sheet right now?

You're in luck - I'm going to be taking one ABSOLUTELY FREE 'concept art package'. ($100+ value)

What this includes:

~three view (front, back, side) painted reference sheet
~5 headshot expressions (3 to be included on the actual reference sheet)
~3 sketches of your character in action
~all progress sketches/lineart

~Because of the scope of this commission type, I like to stay in easy contact with my client. Therefore, you MUST be able to add me on Skype so that we can message back and forth. Trust me, it'll be a lot easier for both of us.

Hey, I never did a hello journal. woops.

Anyway, hi, I'm peachschnapps. As it says in my profile info, you can call me Peach or Peaches or schnapps or whatever you want, really. I'm from Pittsburgh, PA, and I currently live with one of my partners and our three stupidly lovable kitties. Usually I'm hanging around in my apartment, either working, playing video games, or watching movies.

As with many artists on this site, I'm still learning how to perfect my craft! My main focus, however, lies in digital painting; common themes in my work include anthropomorphism (wow what a shocker), creature design in general, sci-fi, and fantasy. Interesting anatomy is also an obsession of mine, which is why you'll see a lot of transformation artwork coming from me. I enjoy concept work, especially character design, and it's something I'd really like to do professionally someday - once my work gets to the proper level, of course!

Other than that, I enjoy going to cons and hanging out with my wonderful friends - I've gone to Anthrocon every year since 2011, and I usually go to MFF as well as other smaller cons up the east coast. This summer, I'll be getting a fursuit of my character Poppy from Madefuryou, and it's something I'm incredibly excited about! I love making people smile and laugh, and a fursuit is something I've wanted for a very long time.
