First journal of 2025

I hope that everyone had a nice new years and an enjoyable set of holidays. There is no doubt that things are likely kicking into gear again for people and I am no different. Work continues to grind away and things haven't changed much. I am hoping that next month that I will get a raise or things will be more financially complicated for me this year. There is a big question mark on how taxes will look for me going forward but I will be finding out in a somewhat short period.
For writing, things were much slower this week. I was able to finish the one project that is posted. I am working on the next chapter of the Pokemon cannon. But I am afraid that I will lose interest in it eventually as I still don't know what I want to do with it. What I do know is that I don't want it to just become a Pokemon version of my other story. This is why Rogziel will continue to be the "main character" so that I don't fall into that possibility.

Retrospective on 2024

I hope that everyone is enjoying the holidays and weekend. I just got back from my short snowboarding trip and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was nice to get off work for a few days but the grind will resume on Monday. As for my plans on 2025, the biggest thing I have planned is a trip that I am still working out the details of. I'd also like to focus more on spending a little more time doing things for myself rather than worrying about work. Time will tell if I can pull that off or not with my job situation.
In 2024, I feel like I was a little less productive than the year before when it came to writing. I was able to finish the canon story involving Pent and Xavier. It was nice to see something to completion that was a passion project for me for a while. I also picked back up the Pokemon stories but am still struggling with the question of where I want to go with them. Commissions and trades continue to be slow but I am still trying to figure out a way to reach more people and widen my audience.
Personally, this year was a bit of a mixed bag. I committed to a condo and it remains to be seen if it will be worth it or not. It has a lot of small problems that will likely become bigger as time progresses. I was also involved in a wreck that totaled my previous car. While I am fine, this is setting me back financially as the old car was completely paid off. Professionally my job hit a rough patch this year but things seem to have smoothed out for the time being and I am hoping for a raise soon.
As always, I thank my audience for their continued support. I appreciate every commission and trade I get. I know stories aren't everyone's cup of tea but I do my best to do the best I can. I assure you I still have things in store for 2025 and hope everyone will join me for the journey to come. Happy early new years everyone. Have a nice day and a great holiday.

Raffle results

I hope everyone is looking forward to the upcoming holidays. I, for one, will be taking advantage and heading to the ski resort for a bit of fun. For those who don't know, I am an avid snowboarder so I like to take advantage when I can. I will likely be unable to respond during the week of Christmas due to this. It is difficult to say since the resort's wifi has been spotty in the past. I will likely make one final journal update before the end of the year with my annual retrospective so I hope you look forward to it.
In terms of writing, I made very little progress this week. It has been harder to motivate myself to do the Pokemon cannon. I'm not sure if it's because I'm burnt out, disinterested, or just unmotivated in general. So it will likely be slow going until I get back more into it. I am also curious, would people be interested in seeing a Chespin form of Xavier in that story? A poll has been posted below. I hope everyone is getting ready for the holidays. My job continues to grind along and I've been given some different responsibilities now. I haven't gotten a raise recently but I am expecting one in a month or two. I will definitely need it considering they are raising my fees where I live for the coming year. I am still unsure if I will remain at the condo as it's going to need a lot of work. I need to figure out one big project for next year: replacing the appliances or renovating the bathroom. It probably won't be all at once but I'll figure it out when I have money to do one or the other.

I have nothing on my plate right now other than the personal Pokemon cannon project. That will likely be a lot slower since I don't have a definitive plan of what I want to do with it. There is also the question of if I want to include Xavier in it. I had thoughts of making his Pokemon form a Chespin but...I don't have any ideas for a unique take on it. I also don't want to invest in more alternative art for him when he doesn't have that much to start with.

I can't believe that the year has gone so fast. December is literally right around to corner and so too are the holidays. Things continue like normal for me and I have a small trip planned in a few weeks to go snowboarding. I will be going on a short vacation around the holidays to enjoy myself though I won't be gone long. I will still be around during this time but things might be slower on the furry front as the year comes towards its end.

I think it's most or less about whether the situation will continue as it is. I still have my doubts as I don't have much confidence in my employer. Upcoming raffle ideas

I hope everyone is well and that you have all been having a good month so far. Work is getting better fror me. I am somewhat in a position of middle management now, which is a nice change of pace. I have a bit more responsibility with no extra pay but I feel a bit better about the situation now. That being said, I am still hesitant to think things will continue like this. I hope everyone is well and that of your weeks went as planned or better. My own was fine. Work continued as normal but continues to be a big question on my life as it currently stands. I don't think I'm at risk of losing the job but there is a lot of things happening that I'm not sure of. Plus that and I haven't been happy in a while jobwise all play into it. Still for now, things will continue as normal until it becomes more necessary to move on.
In terms of writing, I made a bit of progress on the Pokemon cannon. I will likely be focusing on some holiday gifts in the next few weeks so it will have to take a back seat for a while. That being said, I am still trying to figure out exactly what I want from the Pokemon cannon. I have a basic idea but wether that will be interesting or gain traction with my audience, time will tell.

End of my Inktober promotion

I hope everyone is doing well and that your weeks went well. My own were a bit of wreck from all of the things at work coming to a head. In short, without going into detail, HR confronted me about the situation and I probably told them a bit too much. Still, I am very much prepared to look for a new job if the need calls for it. Things seem to have settled down in that regard, but time will tell if the whole situation blows up in my face or now. For now, my job circumstances will remain the same.
As for writing, I think I have decided what I want to work on. For the time being I will be focusing on my Pokemon cannon. There are only currently two chapters with it but exploring the world of Rogziel and the Pokemon version of Pent seems fun. I will make Pent different than he is in the "traditional" cannon but still hold true to myself. I don't have a firm plan on what I want to do with it or how long it will be so I will just roll with my gut instinct to continue writing it at the moment.

A reminder and an update

I hope everyone is well. My week was pretty crummy at the situation at work has gone from one bad thing to another. I will be looking for a new job very soon if things don't change. I am losing patience and my frustration is growing. That being said, for now things will continue as normal. I am hesitant to change jobs until I find something else. I am not entirely sure what that will look like but I will be updating the necessary things to make that happen. I wish things could be different but such is life.
I made a lot of progress in writing this week. I finished two stories and have concluded the Pent and Xavier saga, at least for the time being. I have one small project on my plate but other than that I am not sure what I will work on next. I am at a loss for what to do next and don't know what I want to work on. The Revival Promotion

Work was a mixed bag this week and I was able to make a bit of progress on the Pent and Xavier story. The latest installment of which has now been posted on all of my profiles. I had a small social issue which I think I managed to resolve for the most part. That being said, the primary purpose of this journal is to promote my upcoming promotion for October.
What is it? Is there a story you enjoyed but want to see revisited with a different spin to it? Anything from different characters, settings, or even ending. Are you wanting to see a specific story continued? This is your chance to revisit a story that I may have forgotten about or abandoned. I am calling this the "Revival".
What is the promotion? During October any "Revival" themed story that fits the above description will be discounted to a $10 per 1000 words rate. Additionally, any Halloween-themed story will also be discounted to the same rate. I am also considering running a drive for additional discounts during this campaign.
Are there any restrictions? If the characters in the story are not unique to the story or they belong to someone else, they must be re-designed. Stories must be at least 3k words long. My usual commission restrictions also apply.

I hope everyone had a good week. My own was a little overwhelming and my inner conflict over my job issue continues. It hasn't quite gotten bad enough to look for a new job but that is becoming more and more of a possibility. At what point I do it remains to be the question. I have a pretty high tolerance for stress and drama and even that is being pushed to its limits. Still, for now things continue as normal and I push ever toward an uncertain future.
In terms of writing, I made a bit of progress this week. The most substantial of which has been posted on my gallery. The Pent and Xavier arc has also made a small amount of progress. It is hard to say when it will be published but I do have a clear idea for what I want to try and do with them. It will likely take a chapter or two to convey it so I hope everyone will look forward to it. As for the historical fiction bit...I haven't worked on it and it's on the back burner at the moment.

An update regarding my telescope

I hope everyone had a good week. My own was fine for the most part. I was able to get my telescope fixed which was nice. I will likely be taking some time off work and doing a staycation at some point. I still can't afford to go anywhere but in the near future I'd like to do something more involved I am a little worried that my condo might become overbearing eventually. They will likely hike up my fees in the coming year and they are already high. Time will tell if this particular condo will be the one I end up sticking with.

Running a promotion

I hope everyone is well and that you had a good week. My week was a mix of experiences. Things at my primary job are getting frustrating. I think I came out ahead of it but I am considering if it might be time to move on to something else. There are a few issues with this; primarily location and my own experience. As such for now I will continue but at some point in the future, I will have to decide if I want to keep putting up with it or expand my horizons.
Regarding writing, I did make a small bit of progress on my current project. I have come up with a basic idea for the new story arc. Part of me wants to continue the Pent and Xavier story arc but I also don't want to overdo it. I will likely rotate between the two for the time being. I am trying to plan some sort of vacation here eventually but I need to save and figure out my options before that happens. Writing hasn't made much progress lately. I think the only way I am going to be able to write now is if I do it on my breaks. I could write at home but I'm usually too tired to do that. I hope everyone is well. This week went alright. I attempted to replace my bathroom sink. It went alright but I still had to end up calling a plumber to fix a leak. Having two jobs now is a bit overbearing but I have worked like this before so I can manage. I have very little free time now but I'm still managing time to do stuff for myself. I just hope there aren't any more unexpected expenses as I feel like I keep facing setbacks and don't want to have to take even more out of retirement to make ends meet.
In terms of writing, I finished another chapter of Pent and Xavier. I wasn't planning on continuing their story, it just sort of happened. I still don't have any firm ideas of what I want right now, I'm just kind of writing whatever comes to my mind. I have a follow-up poll for people. Since most everyone voted on cubby romance, let me know who you'd like to be the main character. I have included Arthur and Santiago since they were the only recurring characters in my previous canon.

I hope everyone is well. There isn't much to update on this week so I'll keep this journal short. Essentially, I am trying to figure out how to expand my audience. As I said before, interest in commissions have more or less dried up. I've tried discounts, promotions, and events and not much has changed the interest in them. Additionally, I am beginning to lose confidence in my own ability to write and don't have nearly as much drive to write as I did before.
I have identified a few problems. I realize that the furry fandom is more visually art-based than written. Regarding FA and Commissions

I hope everyone is well and that everyone had a good week. I now have two jobs due to the financial difficulties I am facing because of all of the issues with the condo. As such, I have even less free time than before and am working more hours than one would expect. It wasn't something I wanted to do but the cost of living has gone up more than I am comfortable with on one job. Some might expect that my job field pays more than most others but that is simply not the case. That being said, it was a necessary but unfortunate decision.
Writing is continuing at a snail's pace. I am going to continue to work on the Xavier and Pent saga, even if it was technically ended. I don't really have anything else I want to write, though my ideas for the two cubs aren't very developed at the moment. Commissions will remain open but will go back to normal prices. I am unsure what to do about commissions. Interest has essentially dried up and I've tried all sorts of different things to drum up interest. So if anyone has any ideas how I can promote myself going forward, it would be appreciated.

I hope everyone is well. It's been a while since I've posted so I figured I would do a small update. Work is going fine but things have picked up in terms of professional responsibility and how much time it demands from me. In addition, even despite this I have not gotten any sort of raise recently. The condo is nice, and overall I am happy with it, but there are a lot of little things that need to be fixed. As such, financially I am a little bit stressed right now. I haven't incurred any personal expenses lately other than out of pure necessity. As such, there is a good chance I will likely have to take a second job if things don't improve soon.

Moving done

I hope that everyone is well and that everyone is having a nice week. I am all settled into the condo now for the most part. I have a few small things left to do but it's mostly minor. It feels kind of weird having your own place. I look at everything differently now and always see something wrong with it. Still, I need to tone down expenses for a while. That being said, it was mostly uneventful except I may have injured my knee. It seems to be pretty minor and I haven't decided on seeing a doctor just yet as it hasn't stopped me from doing much. Regardless, I am happy in new spot for the most part.
In terms of writing, I did manage to finish one story for someone. It's posted and I only have one other thing to post but it will be a while before it is. I am facing a bit of an issue with writing. I have gotten to the point where I don't know what I want to write. I have some mental blocks preventing me from writing some things. The move will officially be happening this week with a cleanup of the old apartment to follow up afterwards. I am mostly packed now with boxes everywhere and the apartment is a mess but such things are to be expected with the move. I still have a few things left to do but the next big challenge will be actually moving and unpacking. That being said, this week I will have sporadic availability so if you message me, I may not answer until I get settled in and have internet at the new place.

Micro May Reminder

I hope everyone is well. Things are moving a long for me. I now have a move-in date for the condo. May is going to be a bit busy for me but I will be able to manage. That being said, closing is this week and this will be the most expensive purchase I've ever made. I'm still not sure it's the best decision...but at this point I've committed too much to it and am legally bound to complete the transaction. I just hope this isn't something I regret in the long run but only time will tell if that is the case.
In terms of writing, I did write a little bit and finish a story I won't be posting for a while. I have one other thing planned but it's another small project. I hope everyone is well. Things are moving a long for me. I now have a move-in date for the condo. May is going to be a bit busy for me but I will be able to manage. That being said, closing is this week and this will be the most expensive purchase I've ever made. I'm still not sure it's the best decision...but at this point I've committed too much to it and am legally bound to complete the transaction. I just hope this isn't something I regret in the long run but only time will tell if that is the case.
In terms of writing, I did write a little bit and finish a story I won't be posting for a while. I have one other thing planned but it's another small project. That being said, I still don't really know what I want to write next so stories will likely continue to stay slow for a while. If anyone has an idea, feel free to throw it my way. Micro May Promotion

I hope everyone is well. It's hard to believe it's almost the end of the month...but here we are already over a quarter into the year. My closing on the condo is a few weeks away now...and things are being done that I'm not comfortable with. Namely, I have to take out of my retirement for the down payment...but at least I have the money. I just need to make sure I cover myself tax-wise. I am also concerned I will regret it in the future but at this point I can't back out.
In terms of writing, I did write a little bit this week. Nothing big or extravagant...just a gift for someone. So that being said, I didn't get a lot of writing done. I still don't know what I want to write right now so things may continue to be slow for a while. That being said, I am going to try running another promotion here shortly so see below for details.

Condo Concerns

I hope everyone is well and that everyone is having a nice weekend. Things are moving along at a pretty quick pace for me now. I am around a month away from needing to move. My condo's closing is a few weeks away. I've already spent money on it. I can't help but think it's not the best idea...but at the same time given the current circumstances, it's the best I can do. I just hope I don't regret this huge purchase in the long run.
In terms of writing, I did write a bit this week and finished the brotherly story that people seemed interested in. Still...I don't know what to write now and I've lost a lot of motivation to write. I am not sure if I am going to be doing the promotion for May. No one seemed interested in March so I will post a poll below to see if people would like one for May. Commissions have all but dried up but I haven't quite given up. Still...I'm not sure what to try differently. If anyone has any suggestions let me know below.
