Where Else You Can Find Me
Posted 2 years agoAs it becomes more and more likely that my days on this site are numbered, I think it'd be wise to point you all to other places where you can find my art.
e621: https://e621.net/posts?tags=perfectlynormal
The most complete archive of my art. Everything there is .png quality and at the highest resolution you're gonna find (outside of my SubStar). There's probably a few pieces missing there though, I'll try and fill in the gaps in the coming days.
Discord: http://discord.gg/SNHxtn5
My public discord server! One of the first places I post my art. Also a place you can share your own work if you're an artist, or just find people to socialize with. If you just want to join to lurk that's all good too!
InkBunny: https://inkbunny.net/perfectlyNormal
The funny bunny website. Besides FA this is my most popular gallery and it has most of my art on it. Also the most likely to stay active. They have a rule against humans on there so anything I draw involving those won't be posted there.
FurryNetwork: https://furrynetwork.com/perfectlynormal/
Decided to give this site a try. Just made the account so nothing on there yet.
Itaku: https://itaku.ee/profile/perfectlynormal
Made this back when the Twitter shenanigans happened but it never got any interaction so I stopped uploading there. Gonna give it another chance now though!
PillowFort: https://www.pillowfort.social/perfectlyNormal
Made this a couple years back. Another case of a page I abandoned because of lack of interest that I'm gonna give another chance.
I'm not planning on deleting any of my art from here or deleting this page. I'm probably gonna quit uploading here at the end of June though so if you wanna keep up with my new content you'll need to pick at least one of the sites above. In the case of the latter three sites I'm not firmly established on them so no guarantees I'll remain active there.

Addressing the News
Posted 2 years agoHey everyone. Figured I'd give my take on the whole policy update since it pretty much targets the thing I've drawn most. Obviously I'm not super happy about this change. I don't tend to like rules that aren't quantifiable or that restrict people for no good reason and this feels a lot like both of those things. What qualifies as "child-like" is gonna vary from person to person, and existing rules here were already really inconsistently enforced. I just can't see what this rule actually accomplishes either. What is this for? Who is this protecting? You're delusional if you think stopping me from uploading smut of a purple weasel gremlin from a video game is doing anything to protect children. Is it because of some legal reason? Then maybe you should be transparent about it.
I'm not really planning to do anything in response to this. If, despite the backlash, this goes through, I expect this account to get banned or at least stripped of most of it's content. Since I'm not focusing as much on furry art these days I don't exactly care to juggle a shit ton of alternative sites hoping one of them catches on. My previous experiences with Pillowfort and Itaku never really went anywhere. I'm still active on Inkbunny of course, and all my stuff will end up on e621 and my Discord server as well. If I end up picking up any other sites they'll show up on my Carrd directory. https://perfectlynormal.carrd.co/
The lack of good sites to post to was certainly a factor in my decision to soft-retire from furry art. If this goes through it'll be my second time losing my primary account (the first being Tumblr). As you can imagine, losing the bulk of my audience isn't particularly motivating. Still, I was never in it for the numbers. If I lose this account I'm just gonna keep drawing other places.
To end on a positive note, I've been working on some art recently, so you can expect some new content from me in the near future. Take care!

Switching Focus
Posted 2 years agoHello everyone. I've been thinking about this for a while and I think it's about time I came out about it. If you don't want to hear me ramble and just want the short version, I'm gonna be shifting my focus away from furry art. I'm not quitting, but I'm not making this my main thing anymore.
I've been doing this for 7 years now. I never really expected to last that long, I've never really committed to anything for that amount of time. What I'm finding more and more though is that I'm not nearly as interested in this as I used to be. I thought it might just be burnout but this has been a pretty persistent feeling for a while now.
To be perfectly clear, I'm not ashamed of the work I've done. I don't feel any regret choosing this path. Getting into art was probably the best thing I could have done for myself, it's done a lot for my confidence and self worth, and it's introduced me to a lot of cool people. I'm not about to become a prude, I'm not about to start shitting on the community, and I'm not about to start nuking galleries.
What it comes down to I guess is, I'm not as horny as I used to be and there are other things that I want to pursue. I don't wanna get to into detail because I wanna keep stuff separate, but it's something I've wanted to do for a long time and I feel like I'd regret it if I didn't try now. there's also some real life matters that I can't really afford to neglect any longer.
I'm not quitting entirely, and in fact you may see an influx of art from me for a while as I tie up some loose ends. If you sent in a commission pitch to me last time I opened, I do still intend to get to all those remaining pitches. Thanks for your patience! If you're waiting for me to open again I don't really know when I'll be taking any more comms. I do want to, if for no other reason than not wanting to disappoint (Needing more money is a factor as well).
Regarding my Subscribestar, it will continue to operate but I'll no longer be doing twice a month polls. I did a post over there that goes into more detail if you're interested! I'll also be running a bunch of polls on there to wrap things up on that end so if you want to spend 4 bucks there'll be 4 polls to vote in.
I really do appreciate all of you. I've had a lot of fun with this whole furry art thing. Thanks for reading!

January Update
Posted 3 years agoJust thought I'd drop a quick journal to talk about what I've been up to!
This months been pretty interesting. I started off really dragging my feet on the Yoshi/Flygon pic. It got to the point where I kinda dreaded working on it. This wasn't the first time I'd felt like this with a pic either. Honestly I feel like my art has kinda stagnated more or less for the last couple years. I finally decided to actually try and figure out why this was happening and how I could break through it. So I spent about a week just examining my whole process, thinking about my art style and what I wanted to accomplish with it, studying other people's art and looking at what they were doing and what it was conveying.
My major conclusion was that I was far too much of a perfectionist. Every part of my process from sketch to lining to coloring I was spending like twice as much time as I really needed just to make everything pixel-perfect. It was kind of an aspect of pride for me, and something I kinda had to get over to make drawing not actively miserable for me. I also found I'd begun to rely too much on 3D references. I tend to pose models out in blender to serve as reference for my art, and while it is useful for sure I've noticed that with some of my art I just focus way too hard on it and the results end up kinda stiff and janky in a particular kind of way. I did some other stuff to kinda optimize my process as well. I made templates with my layer structure all pre-built. I made myself a whole suite of brushes (that I intend on releasing for subscribers eventually). I found a cool plugin that allows me to select brushes with just a flick of my pen.
Moving forward I'll be continuing to think about my process and style and experiment quite a bit. You can already see a change in my last few pictures, and I feel like it's a change for the better. It's definitely allowed me to complete pieces a lot faster. As always I very much appreciate feedback, so if there's something I did in a piece you like, or dislike, absolutely let me know. Of course if you're waiting for your turn on the commission train you should expect the result to end up a bit different from my previous stuff.
The second thing I want to talk about is, my second animation is now in production! This one ended up being much larger in scope than the Bob animation. For the first couple days I've worked on it I was starting to feel like I might've bitten off a bit more than I can chew. Now that I've had a chance to get in the flow a bit and figure out a few tricks, I favor my chances a tad more. If all goes well I should have it all done by the end of the month. The current plan is for subscribers to get first access. I haven't decided how long I should wait to put it up publicly. A month seems to be the standard from what I've seen. Honestly I'm still not a huge fan of paywalling at all but animating is such a giant workload that I need to justify it somehow. I do want to get peoples' thoughts on posting a teaser to advertise the animation. The plan was to find a particularly juicy frame and post that up ahead of time.
Anyhow that's all I have to say for now. Hope the rest of your January is pleasant, thanks for reading.

Year in Review + 20 Sub ANIMATION POLL
Posted 3 years ago2022 is winding to a close so I figured I'd do one last journal for the year.
Overall I think I'm feeling pretty good about how this year went. It didn't go quite like I planned but when does it ever? If I regret anything it's not doing enough commissions and holding myself to the schedule I wanted to. Something to keep working on I suppose. Overall the year has been good to me though, much less trauma. I managed to get quite a bit of art done, and I still have a week so I'm hoping to get one or two more things done before the new year hits (plus I still have the other double dick december pic to release anyways!).
At the very start of this year I officially launched my SubscribeStar, and it's been way more successful than I ever hoped. I really appreciate everyone who's supported it, past and present. It's been a great motivator for me to draw plenty of fun stuff. I just hit 20 subscribers, definitely more than I expected when I started. For the occasion I have an extra special poll open which will decide my next animation! Below are the poll options. I'm hoping I might coax one or two of you on the fence into dropping the four bucks to join in.
1: A dick pushes up against Midna's vag, only for her to slide it up to her ass because she's a freak like that. Includes penetration and some buttsex.
2: POV: You're fucking Abra, only for her to teleport away off of your dick just as you nut. She psychically holds your hands back and watches your ruined orgasm.
3: Switch Dog using a vibe wand on her spade, culminating in a squirting orgasm. Looped because she won't be satisfied with just one.
Even if you can't/don't want to support me financially I really appreciate you all. Thanks for all the favs and comments and everything. I've really enjoyed this whole furry porn thing. I've never really stayed committed to something in my life like I have with art. It's been a fun ride and I'm not about to get off now. I've almost hit 2400 watchers now (Edit: Hit 2400! Thank you so much). A bit short of my hopes and dreams of hitting 3k for the new year, but nonetheless a significant amount of progress. But hey, there's still a week so I suppose it's not impossible that I suddenly blow up and gain 600 watchers before the year is over :).
Anyways, thank you all for enjoying my weird drawings. Hope you all have a banger 2023!

Small note on future uploads
Posted 3 years agoBecause of the most recent FA update, I'm forced to lower the resolution I upload at here. Previously I'd been posting at a res of 3200 * 3200 using the file replacement workaround but that's no longer possible. I will continue to upload at this res to other platforms, including InkBunny, My Discord Server, and e621. Even higher resolution versions are available to my subscribers on Subscribestar. I'm also trying out Itaku, though time will tell if I continue uploading there since I have yet to get much traction there.
I can't help but feel a little frustrated, since FA was my only gallery that didn't really have a caveat. e621 is arguable the best place to find a collection of my work going forward, though there are a few things missing and you can't really watch artists on there. As far as the rest of the site update goes, I can't say I'm a fan. The UI is super lacking in cohesion. Sometimes avatars and things have rounded corners sometimes they don't. There's the weird gutters on the sides for no reason other than to waste screen real estate. The comments section just has a completely different visual design from everything else???
I will say one positive thing though, profile banners are a very welcome addition. I was planning on doing a banner for my substar already so I'll definitely be making use of the feature. For now though it is the fish. Also I am happy for LaPatte getting the opportunity to do the site banner. He's a pretty nice fellow from my limited experience interacting with him and he did a good job!
So overall, pretty mixed feelings about the site update, and most of them aren't super positive. All would be forgiven though if they just added the username change feature please I'm begging you!

Other Websites
Posted 3 years agoSo the news is that a certain website that I may or may not have a seething hatred for and may or may not have stubbornly refused to use for years and may or may not have a name rhyming with "bitter"… anyways it doesn't seem long for this world. For previously state reasons I'm quite pleased about this news. Said hypothetical website has some of the worst UX design I've ever, well, experienced. In particular it's just horrible for art. It's designed in a way that your posts are essentially disposable. Honestly I could go on for a while but I'll spare you that. Though I do hold some resentment for artists who chose to use that website as their sole place for posting, I do feel bad for the people that rely on it. I imagine this is particularly devastating for self-employed artists.
So there's no doubt that people are going to move on to other websites. The question is where? Some people seem to be trying out Itaku, I made one myself, though I haven't started using it yet (It also seems to be experiencing some heavy load at the moment). I also made a PillowFort a couple years back if you remember, though I ultimately ended up abandoning it because I wasn't getting any traction on it and certain aspects of the site's design were really lacking in polish and features. I suppose I'll still link to it though. Maybe I'll give it another try if it seems like the site is any less dead.
I'm curious to hear, especially from my fellow artists, what other sites might have potential. I wanna be sure I snag my username on whatever site might take off. It'd also be nice to get in early and get a head start building an audience. I've been looking at Mastadon as an option but I'm not sure what instance of it my art would be appropriate on. I'd love to hear any other suggestions as well.
In case there was any concern, I will continue to maintain my FurAffinity as my primary gallery. I do have a bit of concern with this website. particularly with the trend of users getting suspended for drawing certain characters. This site does have my biggest audience though. And as much as there might be to complain about with site functionality, it at least functions as an art gallery which is far more than you can say about that site that's currently dying. I've also got My InkBunny and My Discord Server.
In any case, I've got plenty of drawing to do. You can expect a completed comm to drop this weekend, it's an extra special one! I've also got a couple other irons in the fire but it'll be a bit longer before you get to see those. I appreciate you as always, take care!

November Update
Posted 3 years agoHey everyone, been a couple months so I just wanted to keep everyone up to date with what my situation is.
Had a bit of trouble really getting much done for a while, about a month. So the last few weeks have been dedicated to getting my mojo back and catching up on Substar polls. Thankfully that's gone very well and I now have some momentum going. The plan is to keep it going and use it to clear out some commissions.
I wanna thank all the people who sent in a commission pitch for their patience. I wasn't exactly planning for a month-long hiatus immediately after opening up comms. I fully intend to get to all of you in time!
The bad news is that my tablet stylus is on the fritz. I can still draw with it but the button is acting up so it's kind of miserable to work with at the moment. Already got a replacement on the way though so it's merely a minor inconvenience. Maybe I'll take the opportunity to do some studies or other less demanding stuff.
I've been trying to get into time management again. Tried it last November and it worked wonders, seems to be working well this time as well. I think the only reason I stopped was because I kept getting sick at the start of this year. I've got a bit of a personal goal to get a certain number of pics done before the end of the year!
Anyways thanks for reading my ramblings. Take care

(CLOSED) Commission Time!
Posted 3 years agoEdit: Thanks everyone who sent in a pitch! I got a ton of fun ones this time, looking forwards to working on them! This should keep me busy for a while, expect plenty of content in the following months.
Alright, it's finally that time. I'm taking commissions again. If you're interested, shoot me a note (or DM me on Discord) with a commission pitch. It should contain the following:
• One-two sentence description of what you want
• The tier and options you want (see https://www.furaffinity.net/commiss.....s/peternorman/)
• A visual example of any characters I wouldn't be able to find on google images
We can work out additional details later down the line once I'm ready to start. If you're really eager to get those additional details written down, just keep them separate from the pitch, please!
I'll be doing these artist's choice, so the order I draw them in is entirely up to what mood I'm in and what sort of workload I want to take on at the moment. I can't promise I will get to your comm in a timely manner, but I'll try to get through all of them before I open again. You're free to change or cancel your commission up until I start working on it. If your commission is time-sensitive please let me know and I'll try my best to prioritize it, but I can't guarantee anything.
I prefer to do business over Discord! You can reach me at perfectlyNormal#8009 or Through my Server
If that isn't an option for you though, I'm willing to work with you over notes so long as you're prepared to respond promptly.

August Update (Get Notified When Comms Open!)
Posted 3 years agoHey! Hope everyone's been having a good Summer. I've been melting a bit in the heat but I'm hanging in there!
Figured I had enough to say to warrant another journal.
First off, I'm getting back on the commission grind! I'm not open publicly yet however. I'm clearing up the few pitches I had left over from last time I opened. If all goes well I expect to open later this month. If you're interested in getting a pitch in, you can get a ping on my Discord Server! Just join and ask for the commission role. There's no obligation to participate beyond that, though naturally you're welcome to! My server's also the first place I post my art, and I also upload WiPs and doodles that don't make it over here.
Next I want to plug my Subscribestar.. I'm getting close to that 20 subscriber milestone. Once I hit that milestone I plan on doing another animation! If that's something you're interested in seeing and you have 4 extra bucks, consider supporting me! I'm putting up the first poll later tonight, and this and next month are gonna have an extra poll, so it's an opportune time! And if you are subbed, I really appreciate you. I hope I can keep making art you enjoy!
Lastly I want to say a little something about my life situation. I don't talk much about personal stuff on here, I'm sure you can understand why. I've been saving up for about a year now, trying to scrape together as much money as I can. Chances are I'm going to be moving next Spring, and depending on what choice I make it may mean a big change in my lifestyle. I'm at a bit of a crossroads right now. I could go with a traditional job in the path I've been studying and keep art as strictly hobby. But there is an honest possibility that I could make enough to sustain myself off my art. I've always been afraid that making art the thing that pays rent and puts food on the table would change my relationship with it, make it a point of stress. For the past few years I've kinda considered being an artist as the most important part of my identity, but I'm honestly not convinced I want to do this for a living.
Either way, the situation isn't too dire, there isn't really any chance of me being homeless or anything. If I do end up going the route of a more traditional job, I'll probably continue doing my Subscribestar which means at least 2 pics a month. I doubt I'd do commissions however. I'd also like to get more experimental with my stuff and maybe branch into some other endeavors. I do really love art and it's given a lot of sorely needed meaning to my life. I really appreciate everyone who's supported me and given me reason to keep drawing. And of course I appreciate anyone willing to contribute to my savings because moving out is expensive!
In any case I've got a lot of drawing to do. Thanks for reading and take care~

2000 Watchers! (Q&A and min-update)
Posted 3 years agoHey everyone, just wanted to announce I hit the 2K milestone today! Thanks to everyone who smashed that mf +watch button, I hope to keep providing you with plenty of content. I hit 1k back in October 2020. Getting there took about 4 years. Only took a year and a half or so to get the second grand so that's encouraging. Maybe we can get to 3k by next May!
I would've liked to have done a special pic or raffle or something for the occasion but the truth is I'm pretty slammed at the moment. I've got some SubStar pics to catch up on and some commissions to get to, among other life things.
What I can do is a little Q&A. Any question you have for me, just shoot it down in the comments and I'll answer it as best I can. Questions about my art process, if I'm going to draw something, what I ate for dinner, what color my underwear are, my social security number, just ask away!
Expect more art soon by the way. I was out of town for a bit but now I'm back and ready to get the ol' juices flowing again all up in your submissions page.

Easter Update
Posted 3 years agoHey folks, been a while since I've wrote up a journal so i figured I'd do one just to keep you all up to date.
So first off I finally tried animating! Seems it was successful based on the reception. I don't know how often I'll be doing animations because they take a lot of time, but I do have some ideas in mind for future ones. Turns out I really enjoy animating, feels really refreshing since I haven't really been doing much new with my art the last few months. In the future I may consider doing animated commissions, but only with people I can properly vet and trust. Not sure how I'd handle pricing though, it'd probably have to be on a case by case basis. For now I want to do a few more animations to refine my process and all that before I start offering them for comms though. The other thing to mention is that future animations are going to be one-month timed exclusives for my SubscribeStar. I don't really like paywalling stuff, and my normal content is always going to be free immediately, I really need the extra incentive to help justify how long animating takes though. I do really appreciate you guys regardless of if you financially support me at all though!
On the topic of commissions, I still have a few people on the queue I was never able to get to. I have a trip planned in May so the plan is to get back on commissions after I return from that, so around mid-May is what it's looking like. If you're still waiting for me to get to you I really appreciate your patience. The start of the year has been a lot of stumbling for me what if getting sick or falling into art block hell every other week. Really hoping to get past it and get back on the grind like last October. If you're not on the queue my best estimate for when I'll be opening again is sometime in June.
Last thing to mention, I'm edging closer and closer to 2000 Watchers! No idea if I'm gonna do anything special for it, if there's any suggestions I'm happy to hear them!
Look forward to lots of cool shit in the near future! I have so many things I want to draw aaa

Jan. Update (SUBSTAR LAUNCHED)
Posted 4 years agoHey everyone, 2021 is over and I say good riddance! It's a new year and I'm intent to keep my momentum from the last couple months going into the new year. I want to make this a much better year for me which means learning better habits, cutting off what isn't positive for me, and drawing a fuck ton!
First things first, I've finally gone and made a SubscribeStar. You can join here for $4 a month! I decided to go with Substar over Patreon as they seem to be far less interested in controlling what kind of content I can and can't draw.
I'm treating it as a "tip jar with benefits", meaning you won't need to subscribe to get timely access to my work, but there are some bonuses, especially for fellow artists.
BENEFITS:
• I'll be hosting polls twice a month to decide between three picture ideas for me to do. (I'll also be accepting suggestions for these polls but I cannot guarantee every suggestion will get a spot)
• You'll get access to the highest resolution versions of my artwork, typically around 9600x9600 pixels. For past artwork (2020 and 2021), I'll post the highest res version by request
• You'll get access to the source files of my art. Due to the large file size this is by request only. You have the option of .KRA or .PSD format
• You'll get access to exclusive timelapses
• Special roles and channel access on my Discord server
• Early access to potential future comics and animations
• My gratitude ♥
What won't be locked behind the paywall is anything I currently offer for free. Everyone will still get access to high quality and timely releases of my artwork. I also won't be locking away the opportunity to commission me or anything like that.
Speaking of commissions, things have been a bit slow between the holiday season and me being a bit under the weather at the moment. I'm still trucking along though and whittling things down to the last few pitches. Here's how I intend to go about moving forward with my schedule: One week I'll work on commissions. The next week I'll draw the poll winner, do personal pieces, studies, or work on animation and comic content. I'll alternate back and forth between these two. I'm hoping this will be sustainable for me.
That's about it as far as business is concerned. It's no secret 2021 was a rough year for me, and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same. I'm determined to make this year the best it can be. I want to thank everyone who offered their support during that time. You're a bunch of internet weirdos but you've really helped me to get through this and make myself a better person. And thanks to everyone who watches me, favs, comments, or beats off to my art. I've got a lot more where that came from so keep your eyes peeled!

Nov. Update
Posted 4 years agoEDIT: I'm not accepting any more pitches for now. Thanks to everyone who's submitted one, work will now begin on commissions
We're closing in on the end of 2021 here and I say 'good riddance'. This year, particularly the past few months, has been particularly tumultuous for me. I don't want to get too into personal stuff here, suffice to say the year's been a downward spiral of events that led to my worst depressive episode since middle school. I'm not just going to wallow in despair and collect sympathy from people though. I want to improve my life and there's two things I know can help: Using my time in a productive way, and money. I've resolved to make each of my days meaningful, and to save a good chunk of money.
So that's why I'm going to be hitting that commission grind. I've completely restructured how I'm going to be doing them. There are now 3 tiers to make things a little easier to understand. I'm charging a bit more for the higher detail stuff but I'm still offering more affordable options too of course. I'm going to be working on an 'Artists Choice' system for now on. Essentially, I'll be taking pitches for the next 2-3 days, and the order I do them in is completely up to me. Mostly I'll be prioritizing based on what ideas are most interesting to me and what sort of workload I feel up to at the moment. I'll try not to let the people behind the pitches affect my choices too much, I want plenty of new people to get a chance! Unfortunately this system does have the possibility of me getting more pitches than I can do in a reasonable time. I can't guarantee that I'll be able to get to your pitch, I don't take payment ahead of time so you're free to cancel your pitch later. If your comm is time sensitive then let me know and I'll try and prioritize it, but you may be better off finding a first come first serve type artist instead.
If you're interested, please read my Commission Page and then send me your pitch. We'll hash out the details once I'm ready to start so just keep it simple, please. Thank you everyone!

Sep. Update (Back on the Horse)
Posted 4 years agoHey everyone!
I ended up taking a bit of downtime from drawing. Without really getting too into it, real life has left me very emotionally drained as of late. I haven't been completely unproductive though, I have a handful of pics to upload. I'll be putting em up one per day starting with today. It's a Wednesday so you know what that means~
I've missed a couple of monthly journals. In the future, I'm pondering just going back to doing journals as I need them. A lot of the monthlies have been pretty lacking in substance. I do still want to get your opinions and keep you up to date on everything though, that won't change.
I'm hoping to really get back into the groove and pump out plenty more art. My "Things to Draw" list is a mile long, not to mention there's still probably a ton of folks that want a commission from me. I'm approaching 1500 watchers too. I'm hoping to break 2000 by the end of the year. Only way I'm gonna do it is by making a lot more art!
As always, I appreciate you all! Take care

Jun. Update
Posted 4 years agoHey everyone, somehow it's already June.
I have exceedingly little to talk about, but I feel obligated to do these monthly journals. I managed to injure a muscle in my shoulder near the start of May, and that really killed my momentum. Thankfully, my shoulder's pretty much feeling better, but I have yet to really get back into the swing of things when it comes to drawing. My hope is to get things going again here this month. I'm really hating myself for being so slow to get shit done, I know there's a lot of people patiently waiting for me to open up commissions.
As always, I appreciate you guys. Take care!

May Update
Posted 4 years agoHey everyone, happy May
Unfortunately April was a bit of a rough month for me. Sometimes when I'm having some difficulty on a piece or just not feeling good emotionally I just lose all confidence in myself and my work. I just want to make it clear that I would've given up on this long ago if it wasn't for you guys. I wanna thank all the people in my discord server, that comment on my art, or even just fav or share my pics or whatever. I really appreciate the support.
With those emotions out of the way, I just want to give a brief update on what I'm working on. Last time I queued up way more commissions than I really should have, so I'm finally just about done with those. I feel a bit bad about making people wait so long but at least I don't take payment up front. I'm definitely going to be doing smaller commission queues in the future though. I'm also going to experiment with different methods of taking commission, namely 'artist's choice'. Basically I'll have people submit their proposals over a couple days and pick the ones I most want to do. I'm not exactly making a huge amount per-hour on these so I'd like to at least get some enjoyment out of it too.
I definitely want to play around more with different art processes too. I've gotten comfortable with the 4 color sketch style and I'm in the process of polishing my fully rendered style, so I'd like to try and find something in the middle. Maybe some multi-tone cel-shading or something. If you know of any artists that you think do a simplistic rendering style well I'd love to get some more inspiration. I'm gonna be doing a few personal pieces trying to figure out something, while also clearing out my "things to draw" list just a bit. If you want to have some input on what I draw I'm starting to do polls on my discord server, so feel free to join if you wanna vote on those.
I think I'll end this here. As always, have a good month!

Apr. Update
Posted 4 years agoHey everyone, happy April
Things have been slow recently so I don't have much to discuss. I have a fully rendered piece in progress about half done, and a bunch of other pics planned. It's really just a matter of sitting my ass down and getting things done. I have college to worry about again but since it's only one class I doubt it'll cut into my drawing time as much as it did last Autumn. I'm pretty disappointed with the amount of content I produced in March, I'll try and make up for it in April.
I plan to launch a Subscribestar relatively soon (~1-2 months). I basically have a big to-do list that I've been working on the last couple months. I intend to finish that all up before I launch it. I'll probably also open up for commissions again around the same time. I'll have a post dedicated to it when it launches, but to briefly answer some big questions, subscriber incentives will be mostly supplementary stuff as well as having a bit of input on what I draw. I'm opting for Substar rather than Patreon because of the latter's ToS forbidding content that I produce and am interested in producing.
I'm really happy with how well received my contributions for the Blaziken and Lugia pack were received. I'm considering entering a couple other packs, though it'll depend on if I can force myself to be a bit more productive. Sometime way down the line I might host my own pack too, though I don't have any concrete ideas. I'd love to do it for something a bit less appreciated, doesn't necessarily have to be a Pokemon either. Feel free to give some ideas!
That's about all I have to say for the moment. Make sure to keep an eye on those submission notifications, I'm sure I can get my lazy ass to get at least a bit of content drawn for you this month. As always, I appreciate you all. Take care!

Take care!
Mar. Update (Input wanted)
Posted 4 years agoHappy March everyone. Funny how a few less days makes February seem so much shorter.
I've got a laundry list of things I want to draw, and I've been working away at it slowly but steadily. Currently I'm finishing up my contribution to a certain art pack, so be excited for that. Fully rendered pics can be pretty exhausting though, I definitely need to get in the habit of doing some quick sketches in between these bigger projects to try to keep myself from getting burnt out.
Since I've been more or less successful at putting out at least some content every month, I'm pondering finally putting up a subscription page (i.e. Patreon or Subscribestar). Not sure which service I want to use, leaning towards the latter since I've heard quite a few bad things about Patreon. Art is primarily a hobby/secondary income source for me, and I don't really have plans to live on it. Without going into too much personal shit, though, I'm planning to move out in the next year or so. Moving out is kinda expensive as it happens, so I've been working towards a savings goal. Having the extra money coming in and the motivation to draw more would be a big help towards that goal.
I've said it before and I'm sticking with it, I have no plans to paywall my content. I intend to keep posting my art for everyone as I finish it and at a high resolution and quality. I also don't plan on locking commissions behind it. I intend for this to be a sort of tip-jar situation, just a way to get a little bit of extra passive income. That said, I do intend to provide some incentives for subscribers.
Currently, the incentives I'm considering are: Access to source files and full-res images (I generally work around 6400 or 9600 pixels and downsample to 3200 for publishing), Votes in a monthly or biweekly poll to choose what I draw, Work in Progress pics, Discord server role and channel
I want to know how much interest there is in this. I'd also like to know what incentives you'd like to see. Please let me know in the comments.

Feb. Update 2: Update Harder
Posted 5 years agoHey peeps, just letting you know I'm still kickin' and working on stuff.
I have a couple pieces to upload today and a couple others in the oven. I participated in a pack for the first time, Otterjunk's "Blaziken Bucket Deal". I felt bad that I'd missed out on the Lapras one and I was all too happy to give the world more on-model Blaziken smut. I'm also participating in another pack so get excited for that!
I feel like these packs are a pretty great way to get some exposure and network with other artists. I'd like to organize one myself some day.
I'm really hoping to start pumping shit out this month. I've got so many things I want to get to, you have no idea. I may play around with some productivity hacks, maybe straight up switching my internet off for a few hours every day to just focus straight up on productivity. Of course, I don't want to burn myself out, but I'm at my worst when I'm squandering my time and not turning it into anything.
Last thought for this journal, I'm hearing whispers that Nintendo/TPCi is once again going after some Patreons. Unless of course it's a DMCA troll, not that it matters because Patreon's DMCA system is unfortunately easy to abuse. There's likely some big Pokemon reveal coming up though, so it might just be the real deal anyways. For now I suppose I don't have to worry since I don't have a Patreon or equivalent paywall. I don't think it's likely I'll be targeted with anything but I still can't help but worry about it a little. Pray that the Nintendo ninjas don't come for me.
I wish you all a happy February!

Jan. Update (Happy New Year)
Posted 5 years agoHappy New Year everyone. Somehow or another, we made it out of 2020 alive. I don't expect things to just magically get better, but I can only hope that 2021 will be a bit less disastrous. Despite everything, 2020 wasn't all bad for me. It was my most productive year yet for art, and I really feel like I've learned a lot. I'm hoping I can make this year even more productive.
I have no less than 3 pieces in progress at the moment, 2 of which I'm hoping to finish up later today. I have a lot of other rad stuff planned in the near future as well, so keep an eye on those submission notifications.
For 2021 my goal is to solidify my art styles. I want to figure out some consistent methods so that I can really start pumping out the art. Experimentation is good of course, but every time I'm messing around with a new way of doing things it really takes up a lot of time, and I'm already a pretty slow artist as it is. In the worst cases it can lead to me having to scrap or redo a whole bunch of work, and that's never fun. I have a list of no less than 85 different things I want to draw and I'd really like to chip away at that cause there's some fun stuff on there. In the future I might start holding polls on my discord server for what I should draw off of it.
That about all I have to write about for this month. I've been doing these journals for a whole year now with this one. I think they've proven somewhat successful in keeping you informed and giving me a chance to organize my thoughts.
Hope you all have a good year!

Dec. Update
Posted 5 years agoHey all, happy December!
College is finally wrapping up for me for the moment so I'll have a bit more capacity for drawing than I have in the last few months. I'm really gonna push myself to get some shit drawn this month because I've really been unproductive recently.
I have a few thoughts regarding commissions, though I won't be able to take on any for a while longer. First off, I'm considering commiss.io as a platform for taking commissions in the future. Paypal is, in short, not super ideal for the kind of content I tend to do. If anyone has any experience with it, either using it to take commissions or paying for commissions through it let me know how it was.
Second is that I'm considering simplifying how I price my commissions a little bit. I'm thinking I'd break it into three tiers. Tier 1 would be a fairly unpolished sketch with limited colors and rendering. Tier 2 would have the option of either a sketchier piece with rendering, or a piece with my more typical polished linework, but no rendering. Tier 3 would be the more fully rendered and polished style that I was experimenting with in the Mesprit/Typhlosion pieces. I'd love to hear if you have any opinions on what sort of options you'd like to see.
Finally, I'm compiling a list of people that are interesting in commissions. If you want to be put on this list and notified when I'm going to be opening again, let me know in a comment below.
I hope you all have a nice holiday, merry Christmas and all that business.

Nov. Update (Opinions Wanted)
Posted 5 years agoHard to believe there's only two months left in this cursed year. Unfortunately I've gotten a bit behind where I wanted to be with my art. College has kept me busier than I anticipated, but that'll be wrapping up by December. I do have a piece in the works that I'll be finishing up this week, but otherwise I wouldn't say to expect so much art this month. I'm wanting to really solidify my art style and my process. I also want to work out a separate process for quicker drawings. The idea is to have a real methodical and deliberate process for my polished, rendered pieces, and then a more optimized, truncated process to churn out more sketchy pieces.
I'd really like some opinions on what the strongest and weakest parts of my art style are. I really want to get an idea of what parts I should keep/bolster and what I might want to scrap and redevelop. I also want to encourage more feedback on my artwork, I really want to hear your thoughts so I can make my art the best it can be. And yes, this includes criticism. As long as you're not a dick about it I'm not gonna take it personally, and I don't wanna see any white knights coming to defend my honor. If there's something you think I'm doing badly, I wanna know so I can maybe do it less badly.
I hope November treats you guys alright. I really appreciate you all.

Oct. Update (1,000 Watchers!)
Posted 5 years agoHey everyone
First of all I'd like to apologize for the lack of content last month. I wasn't really in a good mindset to create anything of quality, just needed some time to recharge my battery. I've been working on derusting the last few days. Starting today I also wanted to try doing Inktober for once. For now I'm just going off of the official prompts but if anyone has any other prompts to recommend let me know. I'm going to be using this as a way to experiment with different art styles and to try and train myself to draw faster. I already have a plan for todays prompt.
A few days ago I also hit 1,000 watchers! Feels good to finally be in the quad digits club. I had a picture planned for this but because of how September's went and general busy-ness, it's gonna have to wait. For now, just know I really appreciate all of you. I'm really happy so many people want to see my weird-ass porn drawings. October 5th will also mark my 4th year on this site. Hard to believe that much time has passed.
That's about all I have to say for now. Thanks for all the watches, favs, and comments. I'll try and keep improving and putting out quality art for you guys. Have a spooky October!

Sep. Update
Posted 5 years agoSeptember has arrived. I'm a bit disappointed in myself as I'm still finishing up the last few commissions I took back in July. Maybe someday I'll be able to complete things quickly.
There isn't too much to discuss for this month. Once I'm finished with these remaining slots I'll finally be able to design my character properly, and there's quite a few other things I'd like to draw before getting back to commissions. I do hope to open some slots come October, though I'll definitely be doing less than I took on last time. I'm considering maybe taking a couple slots at a time that I can finish in a week or so rather than taking on a larger queue like I have been.
I'll also be starting one last semester of college at the end of the month, though I've actually found having other things to busy myself with helps me value and manage my time a little better so I'm hoping it won't have a negative impact on my productivity.
Lastly, I'm getting awfully close to that big 1k. I don't really draw for the clout or anything but it does feel good to see those numbers go up. I have an idea for a 1k celebration picture but it'll probably end up a bit late.
Hope everyone has a good September!
