I got my dream job!

This job is going to require maximum commitment, so while this is great news for me, unfortunately there’s some bad news that comes with it.

I’m due to start my job in just over a month (exact date TBC). Since it requires so much commitment, I’m going to wrap up art completely over the next month.

I do have art to complete before then and I will do so, but after these are completed I won’t be doing any more art.

So I got a dream job, but this also means I’ll be saying goodbye to the vast majority of this community, the exception being a small circle of close friends on Discord.

I’m going to miss it, it has been a huge part of my life for over two years now. I may commission other folks very occasionally, but other than that there won’t be any more Racc art as of next month and will also lose touch with most people I know :(

I was trying to see how long I could go before the nuns at KoFi found my work, screamed and pooped themselves. Sadly today is the day they unpublished my page because it isn’t wholesome smiling and cuddling all over the place :(

On a serious note, what does this mean for subscribers and my work?

Since subscribers have already paid towards my work and seeing it early, I see no reason to set up a Patreon to make people pay again to see my work, so over the next week I will be posting my KoFi stuff on here and on Twitter, with finished works going here and sketches going on Twitter.

I want to thank everyone for supporting my KoFi while it was up, I did my best to name my works in such a way that it would not be picked up as fetish content so that I could keep providing for longer. Sadly though, KoFi won. I’m sorry I couldn’t keep it going longer :(

As a thank you to all you lovely folks watching me, I'm working on a big raffle piece! There will be two slots available, it'll be a YCH kind of thing. Also celebrating 3k on Twitter so I'll be doing my best to make this double-special :3

Just wanted to drop a journal here to let folks know that even though I'm done taking on paid work now, I will still be doing things that I wanna do, including but not limited to trades, gifts, maybe the odd raffle here and there, usual artsy stuff!

Got another project in the pipelines too that isn't related to all this stuff you guys watch me for, but I encourage you to keep an eye out in case it is stuff you'll like.

Once again I want to thank everyone who's been a customer or a donor that has helped keep my work going since I started. Having the work has really helped me to improve and I can now look back on this part of my art career as a personal-renaissance of sorts.

The title will likely be enough info for most people reading this, but here's the info on it:

I get my first payslip from work on the date above. My salary is just under £21k per year, and I have a student loan which I will have to start paying off if my earnings for the year exceed £21k. I'll be paying 10% of my income to student loans if I do earn over that.

What this means is, if I dont take on paid art work, 20% of my money will go to the government. However, if I do take on paid work, 30% of my money will go to the government, leaving me with less money in my own pocket.

If my salary goes over £21k at some point anyway, then I'll take on paid work again. Sadly, it could be a couple years before that happens.

I may take on one or two more commissions before this date, or I may do a YCH auction to help with commuting costs before I get my first pay slip.

Ultimately though, as of April 25th, commissions will be closed for the foreseeable future.

Instead I'll be focusing on personal projects, art will be much less frequent but I'll be hopping on the Blender bandwagon to make an avatar for VRC, and eventually I hope to learn to animate with that!

It's been an honour and a pleasure to take on so much work over the past 15 months; over 200 pieces!

In the next week or two I'm going to get back on things. I want to start by finishing the raffle, which has taken far too long and I am really sorry for that. After that I'm going to work on completing and posting a sequence as a gift for someone.

Following that, I'm going to change how I do my commission work.

The first big change is going to be no more berry refs, they take a lot of work. They also don't seem to be having the desired effect, people seem to just see them as discount sequences and keep asking for additional things that honestly should be for sequence work. I could put up the price to match the work, but at this rate I'd be near doubling it and that just doesn't feel right.

Secondly, inking takes a hell of a lot of time for me to do for just $10, so I'm restructuring my commissions. I'm going to put inking as an additional option for top tier works that have full shading and everything else, and inking is going to cost more than it has done up until now. My art style is going to change too, I'll be offering more sketch-style images with options for colour, shading and backgrounds.

Commissions likely won't open for another two weeks, in which time I hope to have shown off what my art is going to look like going forward.

Apologies for doing this again. I know that I have people waiting on me for gifts and I know my raffle winners are waiting on me to complete the raffle, but all this art stuff has gotten on top of me and I can’t keep up anymore.

So I’m gonna take some time to focus on a personal project that is very important to me, and when I return I hope to get a more realistic schedule together.

I may do the occasional sketch for fun because those don’t take a billion hours, but other than that expect nothing from me for the next few weeks.

I’m sorry again for not having my shit together and being a terrible artist.

Happy news: I have finally finished my final year coursework! :D

I have to say, I'm so glad I got into making art here back in December, because life got really hard when 2021 hit. I have to be honest; if it weren't for all of you out there supporting me, and boosting my confidence every day, I probably wouldn't still be here. Upon reflection, things really got dark a few months back and the only light was this community. But over this past three months, I took the boosts you all gave me and I turned things around. And here we are! I'll be graduating very soon and looking for a job. I really, really didn't think I'd make it.

So thank all of you so much, this goes out to all of you because you are the ones that helped me push through and come out the other side. I'm so going to pour all of my love for you guys into this raffle I'm working on, I hope you all enjoy it <3
