That's right!! I got the final approval for my Hookah 101 panel!! It will be Saturday at 10am in the Middlesex room! We are working out all the finally kinks and bugs out of it (legalities and all that) but there you have it!! Come join me and other furries who like to hookah! From noobs to experts, learn the the basics of this ancient past time! After the panel join us outside for a hookah circle!
OH!! I should mention that there is a possibility that I may be doing a raffle during the panel for a hookah starter kit. The jury is still out to vote on that, but I'm excited non the less!!

Posted 11 years agoIt has come to my attention that Capt. Deek will no longer be running the Tabletop room for the foreseeable future. In fact, the person taking over will be none other than 
!!
The one person who has repeated stated he neither cares nor understands the games.
If that wasn't bad enough: the hotel staff treated us very hostile, we had people preaching to us since the hotel booked a religious faction during this time, and we had people belittle us since there was also a wedding/pageant going on as well! The game rooms were shut down due to "noise," baseless accusations about things that were going on in the room, oh yeah and "sanitary."
For real ... let's not do shit about the half naked gay rave out on the front area where 10-15 dudes were making out all drunk and shit. Let's not do anything about the room parties when it was expressly stated that no more than 4 to a room. Let's let someone abuse their power and have the con book filled with their and their mate's artwork. I didn't see one piece of staff work. It's a shame that someone can throw their power around and fuck over other talented artists.
No, let's fuck up one of the highlights to people's con. I know for a fact I brought people over to the card side of the con. These people were looking forward to it next year with Deek and all.
I'm done for now. Mainly since I have to run into work now, but I will update this once I get home.
As you can see, Furthemore staff as been in contact with me. While ultimately I feel my opinions are being brushed aside and discounted as "ranting," I will be in touch with them via the trouble tickets. I do understand that my journal seemed self serving, but my issues are still valid concerns. Thank you all for your concern and notes, being good or bad, or the few who like to stir the pot by saying the staff is calling me a troll and to ignore anything that comes from my beak. I never asked to be white knighted, but people have done so on their own. I ask that anyone still white knighting my cause which for the record here was not about losing Deek! please stop. Was I pissed? Yes. Do I feel this is a bad choice? Yes. However, it doesn't put aside the issues that I or friends were having.

I've known her for years, from guitar girl, hair cuts, to now finally embracing her natural art talent! She's sister to my gf, and a bundle of insane energy to be around. I've watched her art blossom to the greatness that it is now ... and her art is reasonably priced too. If you haven't seen it yet, she made me a badge to help encourage my cooking ... of course that means she gets more goodies to eat and test, but hey ... I'm not going to complain. :D
So yeah, check her out if you have a free moment.

With poignant childhood aromas, the flashing neon of puberty, all that sentimental candyfloss...The next, it leads you somewhere you don't want to go...Somewhere dark and cold, filled with the damp ambiguous shapes of things you'd hoped were forgotten. Memories be vile repulsive little brutes....
Like children, I suppose.
But can we live without them? Memories are what our reason is based upon. If we can't face them, we deny reason itself! Although, why not? We aren't contractually tied down to rationality! There is no sanity clause! So when you find yourself locked into an unpleasant train of thought, heading for the places in your past where the screaming is unbearable, remember there's always madness.
Madness is the emergency exit...
You can just step outside, and close the door on all those dreadful things that happened. You can lock them away...

Posted 12 years agoSo it's been a wild, rough, and hard 6 months for me. While I've been around, I haven't been around at the same time.
I have a lot to do in order to get myself straightened up.
I'll be more in contact soon, and removing/uploading art as I xfer to a new commissions account for things I do.
Soap business still chipping away at my options, waiting for replacement material that I screwed up on a tail then never doing them again, and just general getting my life back together.
Sorry is the first thing I can say, even though it's not enough at times. I promise though to do what I can to make everything right.

Posted 13 years agoIt started out for shits and giggles since I was sick, but I watched an episode of Beyond Scared Straight. Having gone through the Scared Straight Program, all I have to say - What the actual fuck. My program was a sugar coated lollipop compared to this!
I know a lot of it is due to being on TV, but honestly I think the generations following me need that harsh reality. So many parents have slacked off thinking "I never want to discipline my child like that. I never want to be the parents I had." I hated my parents at times. I hated being disciplined with a belt or a broom handle. I hated being yelled at and made to feel like I was nothing.
Yet, look how I turned out. I have a moderately healthy respect for authority, my own regards to military, government, law, and society aside. I have good friends around me that know I'm always there for them (even they won't be around me cuz I'm warmed over death atm :P). I have a good paying job, working a second job because I know nothing in life is handed to me, no matter how bad I wish it would be. I have that sense of right and wrong, and know if I choose to not follow the rules or break the law that consequences will follow and it will be my own doing not someone else's fault.
TLDR - I love my parents. Thank you ♥

Contest Time! Getting the business off the ground!
Posted 13 years agoFor those who don't know ... about 6 months ago I made a deal with myself to get my business off the ground. I've looked at a lot of angles, talked to a lot of people, and been shot down a few times.
Then the cancer struck about 3-4 months ago and I was devastated. I threw everything away as it were. Bills piled high, lost my ability to drive, started 2x 40 hour jobs to make ends meat. It took a while, but I managed to get back on my feet and start living again. Driven more to get this business going and do something with my life. I'm in treatment now, and things in that department are going well.
Now I'm in final stages of preparation. I need a few things, but one things before anything can move farther ...I NEED A NAME FOR MY BUSINESS!I'll be specializing in all natural lip balms, solid perfumes, and bath fizzies (maybe sugar/salt scrub too) for starters (I will also be doing EROTIC flavor perfume oils during this time as a test market - these may/may not be offered online), then gradually making candles and incense, to going all out with soaps and liquid bath soap. I'm starting small because I know the market sucks out there, and I'm not the only person offering this kind of stuff. However I'm different in a few ways.

I normally don't post things like this here, but since I'm in total disbelief after reading this, am royally pissed about it, and know that some of my old college friends watch me here... plus there's the chance that some of my other watchers live in the area, here we are...
I logged into my Facebook account this morning and was greeted by this message from one of my old friends from High School.
"ATTENTION ALL OF MY BAY CITY FRIENDS! PLEASE READ!
As everyone knows my youngest brother, Bradley, has special needs, it's no secret. His entire life he's only ate a few select things and that's never been an issue when we've gone out to eat as a family. Until the other day when my mother, father & Bradley went to Heather's to eat and the owner said that Bradley couldn't eat what he brought with him. Mind you this has never been an issue in his 21 years of life at any other restaurant - locally owned or a franchise. My father repeatedly tried to explain to the owner my brother's situation. In the end my father paid the bill & was told "If you want to come eat here again leave your son at home".
I know that my family and I will no longer support or give any business to Heather's in downtown Bay City when they have an owner that is so small and close-minded. I am absolutely appalled and stunned that someone could say such a hateful thing!
I'm especially furious because with being a teacher I try to educate my students to accept and embrace others differences and to not bully others. Yet here we are and apparently I need to pay a visit to my hometown and teach a lesson to a grown man about this concept."
This is a message to anyone in the Tri City, Michigan area. Do not eat at Heather's in Downtown Bay City because apparently unethical treatment of special needs kids is on the menu! As a business owner myself, I can say that this is one thing that you do not say to customers. Period.
