I finally remembered what password I used when I signed up for my FA test account back in the stoneage, and I've decided to move myself there. It's simply  phrixus rather than phrixusgryph. Nice, clean, efficient and so on. If people are interested, go watch me there instead ^v^;

In addition to this I'm rebuilding some stuff in the FA Agent before I release it with full notes / journals and comments support. There may also be a feature for clients to keep track of active commissions and so on, depending on demand. It's something I'm looking into anyway. The program will also be released with a new version of the GWx support libraries which, among other things, will make the UI a bit more refined :P. It'll look largely the same though.

So the lazy bird has finally fixed the annoying bug which may cause the agent program to crash randomly if FA doesn't respond fast enough. I believe this has to do with ISP caching so not sure if too many have experienced this problem. If the site doesn't respond within the normal timeframe the system will simply say it had issues talking to the site and will try again later. I briefly tried to have it immediately check again but I don't want to cause unneeded connections to the site.

So 2.0.1.4 is pushed out and ready to go.

And so the gryphon is 30. I feel oooold. Probably quite strange for a temporal gryphon but eh XD. I has the day off but I can't think of anything fun to do since everyone is working >v> Most things have to wait till this weekend. Mlah. At least I can go get some stuff done in town I suppose XD.

Seems I failed to take .Net versioning into account correctly when I rebuilt the program. That should now be fixed in 2.0.1.1. It MAY ask you for your details one more time and after that, that should be it :P.

So I've been quiet about the program for a while now due to it turning into a scary mess of things that shouldn't be there. The program was originally written as a proof of concept for myself but it seems people are a bit interested in it after all.

If you've been hanging in there despite the programs tendency to blow up randomly due to me failing to remove debug directives correctly, the updater should deploy a new version for you shortly. I apologise beforehand that it will re-ask for your details since the two programs do not share the same settings format.

I think I've tracked down all the bugs in the updater and the Agent program itself is rebuilt from scratch. Please do let me know if you have any issues. Provided nothing goes wrong with the main startup of the program, there is a crashlogger which will try to save a file with information about the crash if something goes wrong. I'd very much like to see this if it happens.

So, if anyone is still interested, you can get the installer from www.gryphonworx.co.nz or just fire up your old version which should then auto-update to the new one.

Since I'm apparently on a streak I decided to fix some more stuff just because.

* CHG: Changed request structure to have a more unified codebase between Windows and Mango versions.
* FIX: Fixed a nasty bug where the program would not recover if it lost its database. This was originally due to a debug scenario I was running. I'm sorry >.<

So since I've worked a ton lately, what with our team losing one of the members, I've not really had time or energy to program. There's other stuff to do anyway >v>. Regardless, I've now actually had a weekend and have thus finally fixed that bug which steals focus from games and other things when the popup shows. I think anyway. I've tested with different games and it doesn't seem to cause them to minimize anymore. I hope anyway ;).

So a few of you know that I'm an aspiring novelist. I have a publisher interested in my work but it's far from completed. I need a few images drawn of novel characters and I an artist who believes they can pull this sort of thing off. For now I don't know if I will use the images for any public reference. Sooo ... here we go. Can anyone recommend an artist who would be good at this sort of stuff? I know a lot of different people, but most of them are busy and therefore I thought I'd post to ask here. I don't expect this journal to get a whole lot of replies though I believe it to be at least worth a shot.

I'm NOT going for a toony style at all. This is supposed to be as realistic as possible.

* Popup window now only shows new messages so it wont show your total every time. Still shows total on mouse-over of icon though.
* Auto-updater has been implemented. Please download the Build 11 installer and install it, after which the software will continue to update on its own once Build 12 is released.

So here's a little app which sits in your system tray and periodically checks if you have new messages waiting on FA. It doesn't do anything more than that but more features appear to be coming. Pretty handy so far anyway, and free.

So after a long journey which involved flying to Oz and back again on the same day just to see my embassy there and spend $1200 to renew my passport in total, I have returned home to rest. Alright, here goes.

Since quite a few people have expressed liking for my Sepia picture I thought I would try my hand at commissions ^v^;..

I thought I'd open two commissions for 3D busts like the one of Sepia, http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4670060, that I posted earlier today. Hopefully the price of $25 sounds reasonable. As this is my first try ever at offering commissions, it's an experiment with the price ^v^;

Please reply here if you want one. It's also helpful if you have a multi-angle shot of the characters head, say side and front so that detail is easily seen but I can work with single-shot pictures as well. I will be doing this in addition to my day-job so it might take up to a week to finish them depending on my work schedule ^v^; just so everyone knows.
