So recently my bf got a new pc and is getting back into making youtube videos. it just your typical lets play channel and he wanted to get art done of his character in different outfits for the various games he plays. he is ideally looking to commission an artist for consistent work that he'd be able to hit up quickly with. he is willing to pay a decent price if he has too.

now he did look around himself on a website called freelancer which seems like a decent place to start. but his first attempt fell apart since he didnt notice some red flags with the "artist" that got in contact with him. i dont blame him he has never commissioned with an artist before. well to make a long story short he is being charged 60$ for something that looks like anyone can just put together in an hour using premade clipart assets off of google. he is currently disputing the artist with the website at this moment and i decided to take it upon myself to help him find another artist.

So if you or anyone you know is looking for some decent work he is willing to pay a good price. like 60$ wasnt a problem for him and for the right artist im sure he'd be willing to go higher.

yesterday was my birthday and i finally got the new tablet so i am streaming today

*screams into oblivion*
Recently my tablet went ka-poot. And i just got paid. Friday is my birthday and i'm thinking of splurging and get a new one. I'm hoping to find one with a screen that's big enough to fit in my lap. A bit on the cheaper side if possible. But not shitty cheap where the product is probably less in quality. The one i was using was the huion wh1409 if that helps as a point of reference.
so far from my own browsing the Huion KAMVAS Pro 16 is what has my eye at the moment.

It's been raining a lot today and when i asked my bf if he brought an umbrella with him. he hadn't so i thought it be cute to walk to his work with an umbrella and surprise him. along the way as i was standing on a corner politely gesturing to the driver in front of me to go ahead and make the turn. instead we battled as to who would be more polite. i finally just decided to cross and hustled my way so not to make him wait any longer than he'd have to. he turned up against the gravel next to side walk and tried offering me a ride. i politely declined. he again asked if i was sure and i very cheerily raised my arm into a flex expressing "yeah it's fine, it's good exercise" i then pulled the umbrella over myself and kept on my way. the umbrella covered where his face would be but i noticed his car still slowly creeping along side of me. i kept walking for a good 5-6 sec before i took another glance over. he was still looking towards me and was even saying something. i couldn't hear him clearly. i approached cautiously and got close enough to hear but not too close in case something ended up happening. upon standing there my mind blocked out the words he was saying and was horrified to see this man was masturbating in front of me. without skipping a beat i said "You're a FREAK get the fuck out of here" i then stormed away. he was gone and i was so busy fumbling with my bag trying to find my phone it hadn't occurred he hadn't drove ahead of me yet. i got to another corner of the street and he was turning in on the street. i slowed my pace to a near stop and steadied my legs ready to sprint if i had to. he slowly drove away taking one last glance at me. i then quickly rushed and finally grabbed hold of my phone. i spent the rest of my walk talking with my bf just in case something did happen he'd know.

alas i'm safe at home now but there were so many horrifying outcomes to this tale. i am still in a little bit of shock from it. it feel surreal now that it's over. i'm going to be dwelling on it for next couple days but i am at least proud of how i reacted in the situation.

so i want to try something a bit experimental. since i'm terrible at pricing my own art i am going to try a name your price kind of thing.
you ask for a drawing i will send a rough sketch. then you pay what ever you'd like and i will line and color it.
keep in mind i am looking to do something in a very cartoon-y chibi-ish style that i do a lot in my work.

but essentially there are no set prices. you aren't paying for the sketch but rather paying for the follow up.
i'm not expecting much in terms of how much you pay but i would at least encourage a 5$ min but it's not mandatory.
please understand this is something experimental and i have no idea if this will be a reoccurring thing.

i'm going to start with a 5 slot limit. but tbh i work fast and it will never stay be full/ stay full for long

been saving myself some money to buy a game that some friends want to play with me. i just landed what i needed to buy it aaaand... sales tax so i'm like 3$ short. fuck me right. anyway i just wanted to vent a little. on a side note whats a good way to keep getting commissions. i very rarely land any. i know a commission sheet is probably my first step but i always get too nervous on pricing my art. i worry about over pricing so much i undercut myself and burnout from stress cause i am working hard on something for so little ya know? if you have suggestions on how to self promote myself better i'm all ears.

so i find designing charecters to be really fun. and i want to start making them into adoptables i am currently looking for ideas/themes to work with.
i am looking for general mashup of ideas be it themes, speices, occupations. anything really.

i have been drawing most of today between chores. and i'm just not feeling up to streaming tonight. i just want to draw and listen to youtube drama.

idk nothing interesting going on just want to have sort of a filler since my last journal is no longer relevent

my birthday is on the 30th and i got plans for this weekend as well so any commissions i have currently will be on hold till monday

I'll keep it short so to break it down real quick i was born and raised in the city. i moved around a whole lot but sit resided there. at some point i was sent all the way to the other side of the country (Oregon) for school i came back but due to some financial troubles my family moved out to the burbs. real corn towns. as a city slicker i wasn't too fond of this change of scenery and as years went by moved again and alas moved yet further away from the place i call home. but over the past year from living on my own i have succeeded in moving back into the city with my BF and it feels so good to be back.

i heavily look forward to seeing my BFF Aki again me and them are childhood friends and they re just as close tome as my bf if not closer.
and since i am in the northern part of Chicago i will be close to the Hyatt Regency O'Hare so con events such as Acen, Anime Midwest, and Midwest Furfest are all within reasonable travel distance so i definitely am going to make an attempt to attend these events
