Maybe exiting the fandom
Posted 12 months agoSadly in around 3 short months I maybe forced to start leaving the fandom I've been apart of almost 20 years.
From my earliest days on furcadia I feel that with the upcoming implementation of project 2025 that the fandom, being involved with the fandom maybe to dangerous.
Some of you may remember I use to be more willing to go to cons and meets but with the rise of fascism in the US I have felt less and less safe. Every time I see a friend with something like (Name)@(furrycon) or something along those lines. I worry that con will be the first attacked by some right wing, red hatted looser.
Now I worry that that will become national policy.
Ill wait as long as I can but don't be surprised if I disappear one day.

Posted a year agoSadly last night Biden had a cold or something and it didn't look well in the debate.
Although he actually answered questions he was eaten alive by his pro fascist opponent. Whom did nothing but dodge and weave any and all questions.
So saddly I think it maybe time to abandon this sinking ship soon to be formerly the United States.
That or be caught up in the civil war that Trump will be starting.

Remaking a game server. Need help and mods
Posted a year agoSo a while back someone whos really cool, gave me a work station PC work station that I've been using as a zomboid server mostly or what ever game I wanted to host.
Im not great at server stuff and debating if I wanna run the server as a Vanilla Zomboid server or a DCS server.
Would anyone be interested in helping me set up this server and any game suggestions?

Stargate SG1's 7th season. Towards teh end.
Heros Part one and part two.Man, that is how you do a cerebral scifi show. I wont spoil it but man. Near peak story telling there. Premiring Febuarary 13 and 19th 2004. Perfection and althought the red herring in the teasers was a little off putting. Its only because the gut punch of an ending
Then you had Episode 19 of that season. Reserection. Although not the highlight of the season, id even say it was the low point of the season. But the low point of Stargate SG-1's GREATEST SEASON
Oh? Then you have the 3 parter ending.
Starting with Inauguration. A slow burn to start The last two episodes of the season. Episodes called "The last City" Part 1 and part two.

Normally Im pretty centrist but the last 6 months have really made me realize how fucking terrible Trump supporters are.
YOu have no concept of compromise. Its all about what you want
You have zero logical consistency. Its about how you feel.
If you support Trump you are not a "Law Abiding Trump supporter."
That is an oxymoron. A man that incited violence against the American people. Every single one of those people on that lawn on Black Wensday should have been rounded up and tried as enemy combatants. I had former family there that I have disowned.

However we must not be complacent. I fear that the Altright will grow increasing more and more violent. I suspect withing the next week we will have at least one domestic terror attack.

The civil war has begun. When the History books are written, this will be the moment that they will say the war started.

Posted 5 years agoSo my father is in his mid 60's and recently sort of retired from his job. To help supplement his income he continues to work as the Town I grew up in's Civil defense department as its director. Adding to his retirement fund.
The issue is that he is a hard core, right wing guy that believes to his core that Donald Trump should be installed as President for Life. Every word the man says he clings too as the unspoken Truth.
To give an idea of how disconnected he is from reality, I write this to you Reddit as he and my mother are ON AN AIRPLANE COMING FROM LAS VEGAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE THIRD WAVE OF THE PANDEMIC with my mother, whom has been on and off chemo for years because of Multible Scheloris (Which is an neurological disorder brought on by the immune system attacking the nervous system) She is incredibly vulnerable. So he loaded her onto an airplane and wont wear a mask if he can get away with it.
When I asked him about how many people had died of covid in town(Which would be his job to know) He scoffed and said "9, we had 15 that died of flu this year." I asked him this in July. I told him
"So in a nut shell, youre not in the flu season and you have had roughly 70% more deaths for something you keep insisting is a normal flu?"
His usual story of "Grow up When I was your age I was buying a house" he loves to throw out.
The thing is if you ask him in a professional manner at his job as Civil defense Director about the pandemic he'll tell people "We are taking some precautions, No need to panic" He himself is both putting my mother in danger and the lives of hundreds of people when he isn't taking this pandemic seriously.
The thing is he's in Massachusetts. An area that is best known for having Public healthcare, or as my father calls it "Commiecare"(His words not mine) My mothers MS makes her uninsurable in any other state.
So here is the reason Im posting this. I know if his personal feelings where to become publically known. Say calling up the local newspaper with the story and pictures. Given he is in such a Liberal area, The city would be more than happy to boot his ass out.
For years the local Fire department has been trying to absorb his department to get a bigger budget. This would be the perfect excuse for them to do so.
Again though, Its not like in all other situations involving disasters in his 20 years doing this job he's done a bad job. The hand full of times Disaster relief was called he was cited as "An excellent and diligent Leader and manager"
We're talking a fire, or big story, train derailment with hazardous chemicals. Not a years long pandemic. I feel as his personal beliefs make him unable to objectively see the severity of what's happening and putting so many people in danger.
But if I do call him out publicly I could in theory have an issue were whom or what ever replaces him maybe worse.
TLDR My father is to wrapped in his own BS to deal with the pandemic for an entire town

Posted 5 years agoLately I've been seeing a lot more blue jays in the fandom. Its not really the unique thing it was when I first created the character in 2006ish. Im not complaining or anything. Far from it but I always feel as though IM kinda just going witht hte flow at times and I sorta like to be one of a kind and unique. SO Im wondering, if I were to sell the copywrite and all the artwork what might you consider to be a fair asking price?

For those that don't know, The Trump Regime, after a Rose Garden press conference, ordered Federal Agents to clear Lafayette Park in Washington DC by force. A crowd that was not violent or looting or at all breaking the law.
So he could stand in front of a church for a campaign video.
Even the church's priest was removed at short notice for this.
Im not a big fan of religion. I am an atheist, but even I feel that a areas of worship, should be left out of politics and people should be free to worship as they see fit.
This is not a simple "Political difference." Reporters were beaten, less than lethal force was used against unarmed Civilians and all without due process. This is, at best, Treason. Treason of the highest order.
Politically Im a centrist. But things like this disgust me to my very core. At this point, if you side with this Regime, you as well should tried for treason or renounce your citizenship and leave this nation.

Posted 6 years agoSaddly due to circumstances beyond my control, a roommate failed to pay rent and just spent all of it on themselves.
Without my knowledge and and I had no idea. Last night I came home from work and there was an eviction notice. I have two weeks to either pay up or be gone by Christmas eve. I don't have the money to move or to pay the 3800 to stay.
So really that means I'm having a mass sale of everything I own.
Including all my characters and art work. Including this account. I'll be making a formal submission when I get home but I'm saddly stuck doing this.
