Lately I've felt like drawing icons. I just like the idea of doing a bunch of really quick, but decently looking things. Problem is, I feel like most of the icons I have ever made are pretty ugly/not dynamic.

So I ask you, what do you consider to be a good quality in icons? Hell, you can even link me to icons you think look awesome.

In other news I've been working on a comic. I'm having an absolute blast finally rewriting/redoing my comic that I've had in my head for a good six years now. But I confess, writing sometimes gets a little tedious and I have a notoriously short attention span. So anyone care to recommend some music to me? I'd prefer that the music not have lyrics cause I tend to focus into them too much. Foreign lyrics are okay, but it's the melody I'm really after.

It's been some time since I last even logged in. A lot has happened in the past year and I'm ready to start drawing non-stop again.

I GOT RATS!!! The darker one is named Captain K'nuckles and the hooded one is Flapjack. Yes, Yes their names are dorkily awesome and despite the names, they are in fact female.

Off to do my awesome homework. It's making duotone tests and reading folktales!

I make an online comic called Devil Bids Us Skoal. I spend most of my art time working on it as apposed to other illustrations. On my DA page I usually upload pages but I haven't done that here because I'm not sure if it's "okay". My webcomic is not anthropomorphic nor does it star animals. I know that FA certainly does not forbid uploading human artwork, but I get the feeling that there is only so much that the community is willing to take. I'm really unsure because I'm still new to this community and I really have no idea what is and isn't acceptable.

So my question: do you think that the FA community would mind if I uploaded my comic pages even though they are not anthro?

For those of you who don't know, Disney is buying marvel. I'm a little worried about what's going to happen between the two. Sure, pixar has been treated well, but they were in the same business that Disney tries to say it's in. Disney owns a lot of shit. I'd hardly say that they make children's movies.

I have heard that the buy out could potentially help marvel since they could get access to more licensed characters. All that this is going to lead to is marvel hearing that we like pop culture. So they put pop culture in our pop culture so we can nerdout while we nerd out. Evidence


I'm not at all saying that this deal is going to ruin marvel, but I would expect them to change. And it could be in a good way or a bad way. I just tend to not trust Disney.

Well yesterdays sketch session was awesomely fun. I'm going to be doing sketch sessions on a weekly basis now. They're going to all going to be on Wednesdays at 9 PM Pacific and will last 90 minutes.

I'm switching back to ustream 'cause I don't see the advantage of livestream, nor do I really understand how it works. I'm pretty sure that the quality problems are due to manycam, but I can't afford any of the "good" programs. So I'm going to set up a donation/tip box so I can hopefully get a few kinds souls to help me get one of said programs (and maybe a decent enough webcam if time and generosity prevails).

Also, anyone know of a program that is small and allows for drawing with layers, decent selection wand that allows for expansion of the selected area and has something akin to the pencil too (I don't like how soft the brush tool is).

I'm going to be going a live stream tomorrow afternoon. I'm not going to be coloring anything, I'm actually going to be doing sketch requests. I still suck it when it comes to digital sketching so don't expect much. I'd prefer not to draw original characters cause they require references and stuff, but whatevs.

I'm moved in (for the most part) and have internet again. I managed to get them to come over a week earlier to set it up. Being nice to the customer service pays off kiddies.

I'm going to be moving in a few days and then I'm visiting my family. So for about a fort night I'm not going to be on very much. In fact, I really shouldn't be on now. I've got to get these papers, comic pages and arts for other people done.
It's going to suck.

Summers here really suck. All of my friends and associates are elsewhere. And since I done with classes I've been given more free time than what I'm capable of filling.

So I'm going to offer art trades to one or two people. I'd prefer to do a traditional media trade that we mail to each other, but I realize that not everyone is comfortable with that. If you're interested just say so and tell me.

For now, I'll just watch Gordon Ramsay yell at people and work on my comic.

Whoo!! I just finished my last class for the summer! Well, I have to write a few papers, but one is nearly done and the other two aren't due for nearly two weeks.

Until fall quarter starts up I'm going to be aggressively looking for a job and probably do a minicomic. I have a few ideas, but I need to work on the plot and characters a bit more.

For now, I'm going to kick back and not stress out. Best way to do that: get drunk and watch cartoons.
