Hello all! I really want to do some mini comics but not entirely sure on an idea yet. It'll more than likely be chibi styled *or It'll be normal, depends* it can be SFW or NSFW, show some information about them or just be a random little slice of life thing. Since a majority of people may not be familiar with me commission wise, I decided to write this to give potential clients an idea of how I work or what my schedule is. I know when I am commissioning an artist I am unfamiliar with I like when they are upfront and honest with me. So here is some info on my schedule and how it will affect how I work! I hope it helps!

Weekly Schedule:

Wake up: 9-10 am
Sleep: 2-3 am

Monday & Wednesday:

9am-12:45pm: Drawing/ Homework
1-2:15: Class
2:15-5:15: Drawing/homework, or social
5:30-6:30: Class *30 min wait time I tend to spend drawing*

Info:

Personal vs. Commission: I absolutely draw anthro! You may not see it much mainly because the majority of my examples are personal works. I also tend to upload commissions a lot quicker and personal work I tend to wait as I don’t have a deadline to keep.

WIP: I always give WIP at the sketch stage, the faster you get back to me, and the faster I can complete your art! And please be honest, you’re paying for it, I want you to be happy with it :P I will also do a WIP after coloring to make sure all is well before I post it. I will stress, because I work traditionally, BE SURE YOU ARE HAPPY WITH THE SKETCH!!! Once I ink I cannot make any changes to it unless you want me to completely redo it and I will probably charge for that. If you are not comfortable with this, I do have digital line work as an option. I will not charge for this, it’ll be the same price as the traditional lines.

*Reminder* Original: I work traditionally, so if you would like the original lines, let me know! Preferably before I start so I can lay your commission out properly. It’ll cost $5 for shipping

Turn-around time: I tend to work pretty quickly. It does depend on how fast you get back to me, my school work load for the week, and work (to a lesser extent). Average turn-around can be a week to 2 weeks. In reality it’s much more likely to be a few days turn-around, however, I don’t like saying that in case something comes up that throws me off.

Possible Interferences:

Social: My social life doesn’t tend to interfere much, if I have commission work to do my friends & such tend to plan activities where I can join in but also work on art. On days my boyfriend has off though we may make some plans to go out for a bit.

Homework: My school work load is pretty spaced out and easy to work with and finish. I try to get everything done on Tuesdays or on Fridays.

Work: My work schedule is easy to work with, my hours will change but not enough that it’ll get in a way.

So I have been trying to get out of my art funk for a while now and I just can't seem to get my pencil moving. I draw a circle, erase. I draw a line and a circle, erase. I just can't seem to get my drive going.

Poses seem to be the biggest culprits. I got an idea of what I want to do, then I just stumble around on the poses for a while.


Any who, I would love if you guys could swing some ideas my why. I have been in the been in the mood to draw my babes in a NSFW fashion lately so I'd love to hear any suggestions.

One theme I am thinking of and have been interested in is drawing Kezhon with a bondage theme. Giant man being put in a submissive state is kinda sexy and fun to me.

I had more of a journal written up but friggen internet flaked out on me and I'm a little too annoyed to try and work it out now.


Most of my plans for 2017 are art and comic related.

Improve my art and do more comic work. I don't know what it is but 2016 was kind of rough for me art wise. Had little to no energy! But I'm gonna try and pick myself up for 2017.

I also want to try and be more active on here. Same issue as above applies here. Just kind of... meh... this... last... year.

Hey guys! So I died again, I suck I know v_v

I have been drawing a lot. As soon as I stop being a lazy cuss I'll be uploading a lot. 2017 Ref sheets are on that list, they are all done image wise and just need some text! And some reorganizing ^^

One of the big things was that I have been very sick the last week. Mostly doing nothing but sleeping. Pretty much my lymph noid is swollen, muscle pains (like really bad muscle pains!), fatigue, and the ever lovely splitting headaches that feel like my skull is being shattered. I'm feeling pretty good now, I'm going to be attempting the doctors again today (tried yesterday but it's a walk in and we were waiting there like an hour and a half).

Again, sorry I suck XD but haven't been lazy! Actually doing things (well not so much when I was sick, just slept when I was sick).


Another thing that's been keeping me busy is job searching. Finding a job out here is a pain in the ass!
I do plan on opening commissions soon, both to make a few extra bucks and to help save up for FWA (and possibly Anthrocon but that's pushing it). I love going to that one every year, love the people!

Hey all! How are all of you? I'm doing pretty good myself just... busy? Mainly got distracted by Supernatural binge watching >3> Love that show

I have been doing Inktober, most of those pictures have been uploaded everyday on my Instagram: Poesraven1990

I will get to uploading them on here. I'm going to space those out so I don't end up spamming everyone. Spring Fever will be finished. I have like, 2 more pages to go and the one is almost completely colored.

I'm going to start finishing up the 2017 refs before December hopefully, or more like January and get started on Alpha during winter break so that I can actually post in it during the Spring and be on time. I kind of suck with scheduling.



Commissions are open, and I am going to be posting an October/Fall offer here soon. Just have to work a price sheet out.



Mental Health stuff:

While I was out east me and my friend had some real talk, and after considering some things, there is a possibility that I might be borderline (borderline personality disorder) and after doing a little research I do agree with her. I am thinking of going to a professional to see for sure because if I do have it, I want to get some kind of... treatment? for it. If not, then get help for whatever the hell is wrong with me.



Final note, have been working more on Dissociative, mainly character stuff and planning. I'm finally gonna get a brand spanking new rough draft worked out, AND I'm going to plan out a good cover. I finally got an idea of what kind of genera it is, how it's going to be put out (Issues, novel, etc etc) And a rough idea of how I want to start it (honestly, starting it is what's throwing me off cause I can never figure out how to start anything!)

Here is what I've decided:

It's going to be a: Psychological slice of life
I'm going to put it out as: Issues (I feel that opens it up more, less restrictive, can do holiday specials and other fun themes, and spend more time with the characters)
Starting: This is a little shaky, I know I want to start it with Ravenna, really spend some time with her first, then probably get into Kezhon and/or Liam next, cross that bridge when we get there.



So, if you guys have anything to throw in about anything, speak up! I'll greatly appreciate it!

Hey all! So I failed again, this time though, it's a lot of super important stuff.

This Saturday we are having a get together of sorts with our Knitters group, we do it every month at someone's house. It's at Gram's house this month (Can't have it at mine since I live in a College apartment) so I am helping her cook and what not.


Turned out my roommate is a mega spoiled bitch (I actually thought she was really nice until I heard the shit she's been trying to pull) and complained to our housing coordinator that what she wanted to have a new room (apparently I'm the 3rd roommate she's been though and this is her first semester here! We're only like 3 weeks into the year). Me and our coordinator believe she just wants to have her own room with no roommate but it's not happening. Luckily the coordinator likes me and is loooong tired of her bullshit, so she gets moved with another roommate and I get the apartment to myself! Woohoo! Or at least until I eventually get another roommate but I'll take it! What's stressing me out here is I had to completely clean the apartment because she was checking out, which is throwing me off of everything else I need to do.


Third and most importantly: My Mom is getting married next week! Thursday I'll be flying out east with my Grandparents and until that time I've been going into extreme baking mode trying to get Macarons just right for her wedding! I finally got them right! It took a long long time but I finally got them! Now I just have to try and make enough to feed around 80 people ;w; *I really don't have to, but I would like to*


*Coughs* I may or may not have also been distracted by Supernatural but that's besides the point *Coughs coughs*

So that's pretty much what is happening with me and why things are behind again. I'm stressed to hell but after the wedding is October! And there should just be a landslide of work coming in!

Hey all! Is my bird-day! WOOO!! Offically 26 years old... damn... so close to 30... STOP IT AGE!! TT3TT *actually nah, I don't have too much of a problem with that. The 20s are filled with so much uncertainty and are too close to the teens, I think I'm read to be over this age range. Still things I need to do before I get there though, time to get my ass in gear! *No seriously me, STOP WITH THE YOUTUBE! It's dangerous man!*

That being said, sorry once again I have been kind of... not on here... what happened this time? Well there was a 3 day trip to Vegas with the Boyfriend by mostly it's just that I suck at things. Not gonna lie, I just got distracted. Also I my FA has been really messed up lately. Won't let me delete anything! I think it's my computer doing it, needs a good virus clean up.


But I do have some good news! Guess what I'm working on? Finishing Spring Fever! Yup! Coloring it all up now! I'm also going to really try to buckle down on getting other things done, first thing I want to do is contact a few awesome people who offered to give me a hand with things such as script and panel layout. I kind of slacked off badly and I feel bad because they were super nice to offer their aid and I kind of drifted off doing things.

Reason for that is mostly cause I get distracted, youtube is the biggest one... sometimes I can work on things while it's playing but not always. I can draw while a video is playing but I can't do script or anything word related or it comes out as a jumbled mess.


However I will say I'm really happy with where my art is going, lately I have really been pushing myself to try new things, and understanding what my strengths and weaknesses are and how I best work. I don't want to say comfortable cause I personally believe that comparability in art is counter productive.

*I do have things to upload, the reason it hasn't happened yet is that my scanner is not plugged in. Right now my grandparents are putting in a wood floor and all of my things are crowded into my room until I can get moved into the apartments*


And one final thing: One part of me regrets how long it's taken me to get started on my main comic, however another part of me is not. My characters keep evolving and my art keeps improving, and in the end I think that'll lead to a much stronger comic. Once I get over the first barrier of how to start it, I know I'm going to just zoom on from there.

Hey all! I'm finally back from my vacation! Well... I was actually back a few weeks ago but:


1. Preparing for school stuff
2. My computer apparently really really hates to run this site, if I have to see that little spinning circle one more time my fist is going through that screen!


Anyway, I hope you all are having a fantastic summer so far! Mine was great, it was a lot of fun and I got to see the people I wanted to see, which included Carl!
For those of you who don't know, Carl is the guy Kezhon is based off of. He's a pretty awesome old schizophrenic hippie guy and took me and my mom in when we were homeless. I got into art cause I loved watching him paint and well... he's pretty nuts XD and is still the very odd individual I remember.

First, apparently I'm getting scratched by poltergeist... I have this skin thing where if I scratch when I'm warm it'll leave nasty looking welts. They normally go away but it scares people because it looks painful (it's not) he saw this and said "You're scratched" I went on to explain this to him when he cut me off "You think it's you but it's really the poltergeist" Me: ...Ok Carl, I'll keep an eye out

Second, we ran into him at the town library on the computer. He spent some time explaining to me how to use google which I kind of humored him on. On his screen I read what he was looking up and... I dunno, something about the shape of a time traveling spaceship that can cross dimensions and something something something... he got a call and most of his conversation consisted of him talking about something he was going to make this spaceship and that the government was blocking his research. I kind of held my tongue and just thought to myself "Carl the reason your not finding anything is because your typing in a whole paragraph (seriously was about as long as this paragraph), and even google can't figure you out man" Then he went on to talk about how he chased off a poltergeist and it ran into a dog.

I should emphasis that Carl, while strange, is completely harmless. It was great seeing him again and it was nice to see that he was still doing so well.



The whole summer was pretty relaxed and I was able to get some art work done. As soon as I put in some finishing touches I will be uploading once again ^^ I have been playing around with another chibi style which I hope you all will find adorable!

Character stuff: Also while out there I talked to my friend and we revisited our old writing group and have it up and kicking again! I hope to get more work done on my comics. I am really sorry with how long it takes me. A lot of it is I can get pretty self conscious as well as I just don't know how to start things. I'll have middles and endings, point B-G figured out but I always have trouble starting, I'll have like five hundred ideas and just never know which one to start with.

At some point I may just post a few options and just have all of you decide which one you like best. That's a maybe though.


Also I am getting a jump start on 2017 refs, which has been a lot of fun to do and working on some documents that explore more into my guys that I am thinking of sharing for those who are interested.


I'll be getting to notes, comments, and all that happy fun stuff here later (probably tonight), there is a lot to go through!

About Ref Sheets:

Next I wanted to ask you all a question.

While I am out east I waned to get a heads up on working on everyone's 2017 ref sheets and I was curious on what would be a good layout.


My first idea is having them as a long (height wise) ref layered from important information like the physical appearance down to the least important but there if someone needs it, ex.: likes and dislikes


I may go with that one buy I just wanted to know everyone's opinion, especially from artist who regularly work with refs. What they find the most convenient.



I think that may be all for now, I'm going to try and respond to some comments a post a few things before I resume packing.

Hello hello everyone!

I am back from FWA! Actually I was back since Monday, I meant to do this journal sooner but as soon as I got back I caught up on my sleep and went to classes so yaaay. Anyway, it was awesome meeting everyone! I had tons of fun and probably spent more money than I should have...


I got to hang out with these guys:  buibuiboota  BlitzBitz  l2edPanda and many others who I forgot their names because truthfully I suck at names

Played in a cards against humanity tornament and found that yes, I am a horrible person, glad to know my family's dark sense of humor got me somewhere.

I don't think I got to meet everyone I wanted, but I still had a blast ^^ FWA is one of my favorite cons!

Oh, I got some cute plushies and of course some art! I will probably do an FWA special art upload on my commission account soon, or I might wait until everything comes in the mail. Haven't decided yet.

Now, to go through all the cards I got and ACTUALLY watch those people besides collecting them and leaving them to sit in a box for all eternity.



Art/Comic talk:


One thing I love conventions is I get the chance to see other peoples work in action or see them in person and really study them, and I always realize a lot about my art. Some things I may already know but just now get a clearer idea of how to improve on them.

Somethings I need to start working on is actually doing more with background. I do, do them, I have done them before and I know I can actually do them very well. It's just that I have to start forcing myself to do them more often. I have a drawing I was working on for a while (I kind of bounce around with drawings sometimes) that actually does have a background or some kind of setting. I don't know what it is but unless I'm doing something comic oriented I just completely ignore backgrounds.

The next one I knew of, and that's shading. I feel that I am getting better with shading, I do feel quite comfortable with where I'm at now, the next part is practicing with using different colors to shade. That should be fun.



Now with comics, actually more precisely with my main comic. I figured out what it's going to be and how I'm going to do it. And you may be questioning that and what I mean by it is, I know what the story is going to be about, beginning to end except for a few bits here and there, I just didn't know if it would be like... a psychological drama or what, which is still pretty accurate.

In a way it's going to be more of a slice of life type of deal with messed up individuals finding ways to function with dysfunction and originally I wanted it to be one large book, but instead I think I'm going to work it out in issues. I feel that I can have more fun doing it that way, I can jump to each character easier, spend more time on them specifically, expand on their stories more, with one of my favorite comic series "Fables" it was always fun to have the little holiday specials where it could be more story based or it could just be more relaxed and you spend that issue just spending time with those characters, it would also create a chance to get other artist involved, kind of a break for me and a change in styles to make it fun and interesting.

I dunno what do you all think? It would be easier script wise compared to how I was doing it before, and it would be more fun for everyone else, have a serious issue, more relaxed issue and I wouldn't have to condense so much.

Also, I was thinking that it would be ok to talk more about Kezhon's backstory, since the story itself is about him recovering from it and how the recovery effects the ones around him or what they do to help him.


I was also considering opening a pateron for the comic, however it more than likely won't be for a while. There is some work I want to complete before I do so and I would want to work out good awards. Any suggestions would be awesome!

Hey guys, I'm still alive! WHOA! I know right?

Don't know what happened there for a while, mind kind of just shut down there for a while. Can't wait for summer, think I just need a break from eeverything. I tried doing comic work and I dunno, just couldn't focus. So just did some fun drawings which I will be uploading here shortly ^^


Anyway, since I was kind of dead for a while-ish I decided to post a few things, first one being just a few character facts I felt like sharing.

1. Kezhon's name is actually a combination of a few words I really liked. Long time ago, when he was just a crossover character of rurouni Kenshin and Inu-yasha I wasn't really original with his name, I just left it Kenshin. Then, as I started to lose interest in anime and decided to focus on him more and he started becoming his own character, I decided I should change his name. I wanted to keep it a "K" name so I started to look around, strangely enough in Encyclopedias. I always enjoyed reading those. I found a whole list of words and picked out a few I really liked. I can't remember all the words, or how many there actually were, could have just been two. I remember one being Kenya, the country in Africa cause I liked reading about it. His name was originally spelt with an "s" instead of a "z" but I thought the "z" looked nicer.

2. Servil's name is from the word Servile: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/servile

3. Kezhon and everyone else used to be able to physically transform, however it was changed into more of a mental transformation. Will be discussing this more later with a "Dissociative study" page

Hey guys! How are we today?

First off, I was planning on uploading things a few days ago, a few pictures and update my commission account, buuuut I got caught up with a few things:

1. Finishing up the last of the mid-term essays

2. Getting ready for the campus cook off on Wednesday (I just realized that I have a class that day that ends at 6:30, everything starts at like 7:00 dammit dammit dammit! What is with them and this horrible timing?? Ugh, guess it's going to be a mad rush that day*

3. For some reason, the internet hates my desktop. For the last several days to a whole week my computer just would NOT connect! Everything else worked just fine, I could get to the internet from my phone, from my cintiq but again, not my desktop. It's working now, no clue what was happening there but it was infuriating

Anyway, tomorrow class was canceled so I will use that day to finally get some stuff uploaded ^^ Aaaand then start my mad shopping and baking rush so I can get as much as I can done for the cook off, I'm proud of my cooking dammit! I wanna show off!


Now, my plans for Spring Break!


One plan I had was to go to Twin Falls, have a little fun but the majority of my break I will be focusing on art. I slacked off on so many thing, I need to catch up big time. Comic stuff, fun little drawings, information pages, script work, all that! Man... I can not wait for summer ;m;

Hey all! Decided to do this now since FWA is just around the corner ^^ and also because I finally gave up trying to upload anything for today -m- Internet's being a major dick wad and trying to upload or even send an email is like trying to pull a tooth from the root with an old pair of weak pliers while someone sprays lemon juice onto a paper cut... sorry for that imagery.

Today is a fantastic day, went for a walk, ate lunch in the park and actually slept like a normal person last night so today I'm in a huge mood to just do art!

Hey all! So I'm really trying to become more active on here in general, I'm not sick anymore thankfully, and I think my sleep schedule is slowly getting back to normal. Hopefully! Sometimes I have to force myself away early in the morning and kind of go through the day exhausted just so I can go to sleep early, it's rough, but until I can get looked at, that's what works.

Anyway, a little later in the day I do have something to upload and I'll be getting back to work with all my projects ^^ And now onto the main topic- er... ramble of the day!


What I have learned from Chibis:

So lately I kind of have just been focusing on chibis. A lot of it I think has to do with how simple they are, I've been a little too run down to really focus on anything too detailed and I HATE not drawing! And thanks to them, I feel like I learned a lot about how I work and improved a good bit with anatomy and digital work.

Like I've learned that I can not draw digitally, it just feels very unnatural to me and no matter what I do I just can't do it fast enough or be happy with it. And thanks to my new scanner/printer I can scan in my sketches and just digitally ink them. Inking doesn't bother me a lot, as when I'm sketching, I like that grab that paper and lead have, when I'm inking, it doesn't really matter what surface I'm doing it on as inking is pretty fast and smooth.

So I think my artwork has improved a lot thanks to this, and I'm less likely to shy away from shading. As before, I would get a little frustrated and discouraged with the digital sketching and didn't want to go much further than that. This process speeds things up that I'm more willing to sit and focus a little more on it.


Also with the simplicity of how I do chibis I find that I can focus more on body anatomy more than face anatomy. I love doing faces, but sometimes I feel like I focus too much on that area than I should. I realize I draw bodies a little faster and more proportionate now and force myself to do more detail after everything is done.


Again I like spending time with chibs because they are just so simple I can just sit and play with them. I don't do that often with my normal detailed work as I'm a little more fussy with them. Chibs look fun and are fun so are great to experiment with, so, I'm sorry if you see a lot of them for a while, but I really do think they help with my normal work and that's what matters to me. *Not to mention they are just adorable*


Final words:

So I think that's it... I have a new chib price sheet to upload today and after I stretch my legs I'll be back to working on comic work! I'm thinking Alpha will be ready by late March to spring, if no more distractions come up, and the last of Spring Fever will be finished mmm soonish! Final colors need to be added then on to shading!

So sorry I kind of died for a while there, a mix of class, being sick again, working on comic work (yup! Things are getting done!) and kind of been in a meh mood. I think it's the change in weather, it kind of drains me something awful.
