Not only will it be 4/20, but it will also be Easter, so I'm sure it will be an interesting day at the con xD

I've been itching to make some new characters recently, but I think I really want to try making some designs of original open species for myself! Its been QUITE a few years since ive been in the loop with the original species community here (or on DA where i first got into them) so i am so very lost when it comes to finding current ones.

Hey guys, I feel like I need to talk through some thoughts and give an update on what's been going on, and some personal plans here

I'm going to be pulling back from doing commissions for a while. It's become a pretty big issue trying to handle deadlines while fighting with my mental health these last few months. Problems that I thought were coming up because of college classes and deadlines have not lessened at all since graduating this past May, and have honestly gotten much worse with the lack of a schedule or routine or just any external force that reminds me to be a person and manage my life. I've had a hard time staying on top of commissions on and off for years and it's become obvious that it's rooted in a much more complicated problem than I thought it was.

I've been working for the last few weeks with my partner and friends to finally get it under control and seek some kind of help, but I've never done this before and I have no idea what to expect. I haven't ever really talked about mental health with a professional before, or tried things like therapy or medication for mental health, so I can't predict or plan for anything right now. I'm just going to have to see how it goes, as much as I hate that fdkjghf.... I'm very lucky to have a good health care system in my city and a supportive partner and friends who are helping me through this, it's just going to be a waiting game for a lot of it unfortunately.

For the time being until I can get things figured out, I'm going to stop doing YCH and taking commissions in general. I just don't feel comfortable promising any kind of deadline while its this difficult to find it in myself to draw anything other than impulsive half-finished sketches that I end up hating the next day. Whenever I do feel up to it again you'll know, comms are just more than I can handle right now.

Aside from that, I also have just been feeling really disconnected from the furry fandom in general. The couple of friends I had in the community before the pandemic I don't really talk to much anymore, and I feel like it's been a little weird ever since moving to my new account. I don't even feel like I connect with my fursona anymore which SUPER sucks. Trying to unify my other NSFW social media by using Jubilee as a little mascot probably hasn't helped that at all. I thought it would be cute and fun to have a little theme going with a character, but it just feels weird now, and too brand-ish. I think I might move some of my old art from that account over here just to keep things together, because I still really like some of the stuff on my old account and it makes me sad they aren't part of my gallery anymore.

I think I just want to spend some time drawing casually and drawing whatever I want for myself, and just trying to reconnect with what made me happy about being in this community before my brain started giving me such a hard time. I need to take some of this stress out for a while so that I can enjoy drawing again, and not feel like everything I do needs to be profitable or marketable or anything for a little while. Hopefully it'll be like hitting a reset button, and things will be better on the other side of all this.

On a more positive note, I have been able to do some fun stuff in spite of The Horrors. I spent a few months painting a mural at a local middle school, and was a part of a jack o lantern festival as a pumpkin carver this fall, so that was pretty cool! When I have my own means of transport I'd like to do more mural jobs, bringing about a dozen paint cans back and forth in a shared car was pretty awful, but I still really enjoyed it.



This was really long, im sorry, but I just wanted to get it off my chest. If you read this far, thanks for hearing me out! I hope I can start posting some fun things here again soon. And if you have any favorite people here on FA you think I should give a follow, whether they be an artist or a suiter or just a really nice person in the community, I would love to get to know some more people here! Its hard to make friends when youre too anxious for big group chats flsdkg

I've been trying to find some cute pixel icons to decorate my page, and I've found a lot that are really nice, but none of them fit the theme I'm trying to go for. I'm trying to find some cute citrus-y icons to go with Jubilee's overall palette.

I've found a few databases/collections of decorative icons, but it's been hard to find new ones. I was hoping maybe someone has come across some collections/artists I haven't found on my own yet. If you know of anywhere I could find some more sets to browse, and especially if you have seen some cute citrus-themed icons, please let me know!

Just wanted to give a heads up: I changed my avatar to match the one i use on my other socials. As much as I like the pixel art of my sona, it felt too weird having FA be the only one that didn't match. Now it's my weird little eye-searing guy across the board!

Also, I made myself pages on both Cohost and Bluesky. I'm having an easier time working with Bluesky's UI currently, but I'm hoping to post a bunch of stuff on each site to get a bit of a gallery going there as well. I have two of my anthro characters up on my page, and one character with a werewolf design!

I'm curious about what PP alternatives people have been or would be okay with using for commission payments. I've been considering a few different options but I'm still concerned with keeping a level of privacy wrt sites that may make me show my full legal name and address and things when payments are processed, and i dont know how far people would trust sending comm payments through things like money transferring apps.

Do you offer comm payments or have you paid others for commissions with something other than PP? Have you seen other artists using something different? Have you had good experiences with alternatives? I feel so lost fkdghjfl


EDIT: I'm considering that the best option might be to use an online storefront and post product listings for individual commissions, though im also looking into commiss.io a little

I'm working on uploading a backlog of my old art from the last couple years so I can get my gallery on here up to date. I'll be submitting quite a bit of stuff over the next few days, including stuff for my scraps folder.

I really would like to get back to being on here regularly, especially with other social media sites getting real scary about nsfw recently. I still love drawing it and sharing it, but I think this might be the only place I feel safe doing so right now. If there are other sites you use for nsfw artwork that you feel safe on, please let me know! I would love to look into them!

Hey, it's been a hot minute!

This is just gonna be a quick "hey I'm not dead" thing. Hey, I'm not dead! Things have been pretty not great for a while, huh?
I'm going to try and get back into posting art here if I can, I have some things I've drawn over the last.... *year and a half* that I kind of want to share. I've been wanting to do a little redesign of my fursona as well (my partner may have coerced me into drawing them as a furby...) so maybe I can get around to that, too! Things will probably depend on my workload at college. Yay BFA!

There may be some changes to the work in my gallery over the next few weeks/months, as I am trying to draw more of a line between my SFW-only social media and SFW/NSFW mix social media, as I have had a lot more family members (and just people I don't want looking through my porn art) asking about my social media. It will mostly just be removing links, merch posts, and making sure all of my signatures say prettyboyfix on here, so nothing too alarming.

If twitter is a thing you do, I'm also prettyboyfix on there! I have my account locked to keep The Youths away, but I'll accept virtually any follow request as long as your age is in your bio!

Has anyone else been having problems with their images being kind of blurry and a little smaller after uploading them?
I cant seem to figure out why its happening, and when i upload the pictures anywhere else (twitter, discord, etc) they arent blurry.
If anyone knows how to get around this, or is having the same problem the last few days, aaaaa????

Hey guys! I'm actually kind of back for real this time!

You've probably seen that I've been uploading art again recently. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things with NSFW art so that I can get back into doing commissions again. I've decided to put my online store/merchandise on hold for the rest of the year at least (since I'm on a lot of waitlists but not IN with any conventions currently) and solely focus on commissions and Patreon, which is still somewhat in the works.

I'm planning on moving out of state for college next spring/summer, and I want to get myself on track with finishing enough commissions in a month to be able to cover rent for a split apartment. At the current estimate that would be around $300/mo to cover housing. Since I will be a full time student, I would like to avoid cramming a part time job in with my class schedule so that I'm freely able to delegate time to classwork and commissions as need be, instead of having to struggle to find time for classwork in between work hours.

The point of the matter is: I'll be reopening YCH commissions sometime soon, with the intention of having a batch every month alongside possible standard commissions like character headshots and fullbodies. Pricing is still in the works for those, because its been so long and my art has improved since the last time I offered commissions. I'm having to reevaluate how i price out my flat rate and auction works, but they'll be figured out soon enough!

I don't think ill immediately be pulling in $300 right when I start doing this over the next few weeks, but the hope is that I'll be able to save up a good amount now and gradually work up to earning what I need for rent between commissions and, eventually, merchandise/Patreon!

If there is anything specific you want to see in new YCH, like more YCH with multiple characters, more chibi style, or more of a specific kink, feel free to toss them my way! I'm always open to suggestions, and I write all of them down!

I've been wondering recently how much and what kind of my own art I should be posting here, and thought it might be a good idea to just.. ask what you guys want to see!

I've been debating where to draw the line on what to post here. Currently ive been limiting it to:
-Anything PG-13 or 18+
-Commissions
-Anything that involves anthro characters

But this leaves out:
-SFW art
-Art not including anthro characters
-Schoolwork art assignments
-Merchandise art and preorders
-Photos from conventions
-Cosplay

So im here to ask you guys, what do you actually want to see me post here? Am i good with what i have, or should i branch out more and share more things? is there anything you DONT want to see here? (i wont be offended, i genuinely value your opinions on this)

Without having to say anything, you can probably tell I havent had a whole lot of time for FA and art in general recently. Things have been a little tough personally, on top of a high workload for my classes in the last month or so of the semester with finals/portfolio review/etc. (I'm suddenly taking on two more majors that i wasnt expecting) Thankfully, the semester ended last week, so thats off my plate for now. I have conventions for the next three weekends in a row, but im just an attendee and only making one cosplay for all three of them, so i still have SOME time to work on art. Once June comes around, my workload isnt going to get any lighter, because ill be working through the summer on my portfolio, new merchandise for conventions, and a cosplay for November that i really REALLY want to be perfect.

If youve commissioned me in the past year, youre probably well aware of the fact that results are either immediate, or they drag on for weeks before im able to finish a piece. This is something ive struggled with for a long time, and it pains me a lot to make people wait that long for me to be able to pull myself together and finish their commissions. Its not fair in any way to have one person's art done in two days, and then another person's take two months. Its unprofessional and I cant keep letting it happen, even if it means a complete rework of how (and if) i take commissions in the future.

For the foreseeable future, I wont be offering any/many YCH commissions. At most ill offer single ones just so that i have less on my plate and can focus on just one at a time. Ive realized that if i cant finish a commission in one or two sittings, the amount of time it takes me to finish it grows exponentially-- partly because the time i have in private to work on NSFW commissions is limited to a few hours at night on weekdays if im at home.

I have ideas for what i may do instead of the commissions ive been taking for the last few years, so that im actually able to handle them, but ill save that for another day and another long-winded journal. For now, I wont be taking on any new commissions.

So my convention is this weekend! Prep is almost done, and im pretty spent. Ive been making very slow progress on commissions when i have the time to do so, but once this weekend passes im going full speed and finishing everything i have piled up. I'm hoping at the end of april to do some new springtime YCH, since the season is finally changing, but that will depend on how soon i finish what i have. no cleared queue = no new stuff, unfortunately.

If youre into BNHA, Voltron, FEH, or my art in general, anything i have left over after this weekend will be up for sale online. Ill probably link my store here when i come back, or throw up a submission with pictures. I might throw in a doodle with orders or something, not sure yet!

I have three conventions in May to keep a grip on, so at the very least ill be offering some smaller commissions leading up to that to try and give myself a bit of a financial pad so i can... eat.... dfsfdh (anyone going to ACEN/Anime North/Colossalcon???)

Thank you so much for your patience, i know ive been severely lacking in posting art here for a long time now, and ive been slow as molasses with commissions too. As of next week ill only have one project with a far off deadline to work with, and some sparse schoolwork to keep going at until early may. Im hoping this spring/summer will be a good time for me to catch up on posting artwork over all of my social media!

Con prep has been hell, and eating all of my time, but ill be submitting my print order tomorrow and then that will be the end of most of it! Then im just waiting for things to come in, and making buttons. Commissions will be back on a regular schedule tomorrow, so im sorry if youve been waiting on a progress shot! Ive been chipping away at them!
