The webcomic addict shares another bunch of links...
Posted 6 years agoSome years ago I've made a small list of webcomics I used to read. That list certainly has aged.
And since the number of links in my webcomic folder has exceeded 60, it is high time for a new selection...
The order of my recommendations has nothing to do with any sort of ranking. I just start of the top of my folder and pick what I like on the way down.
Orbit:encounter: www.furaffinity.net/user/orbitencounter/
For starters something you can find here on FA. I copy/paste the description from the front page:
Orbit:encounter is a survival horror web series about a small space otter called Oscar who has been sent to a derelict research ship to retrieve a data cache. What could possibly go wrong?
Victory Fire: https://www.deviantart.com/sulfurbu.....-fire-book-one
I'm normally not into PMD comics, but this one really caught my eye.
Vexxarr: www.vexxarr.com/Index.php
Sarcasm is by far my favorite kind of humor. And here I got it in servings of metric tons... and cake, much cake ^_^
Armello BLIGHT: www.deviantart.com/purpleground02/g.....7196210/armello-blight
Armello is one of my favorite games. And this stunning (fan-) comic tells us the prequel of the race for the throne.
Godslave: http://www.godslavecomic.com/
Let's do a trip into Egyptian mythology. You don't care for history? No problem, everything happens in our time and age.
Skin Deep: www.skindeepcomic.com/
Another trip into mythology. What myths? All of it!
Wilde Life: http://www.wildelifecomic.com/
Supernatural slice-of-life would be a good term to describe this excellent written comic.
Addictive Science: https://addictivescience.kemono.cafe/
Transformations galore! For science!
Savestate: http://www.savestatecomic.com/
Cute slice-of-life, centering around gaming and the occasional eldritch horror.
S.S.D.D: http://www.poisonedminds.com/
Started as a series of standalone funnies and evolved into a time travel SF story that is told on two time lines simultaneously. Very impressive.
Swords and Sausages: https://www.tigerknight.com/ss
Funny stories, a cast of loveable characters and cute art. What more can one ask?

Crawling back from the pit...
Posted 7 years agoIt's been a couple of years since I went on a (never announced *sigh*) hiatus on this side.
It was several reasons combined, beginning with artist block, other interests and real life issues. All that and more leaded to a growing lack of interest in drawing and uploading art.
But still, here and there something found its way to paper, mostly on vacations, when I had my head free. So a couple of sketches emerged over the years. And this year, I started a new sketchbook designated for marker exercises. I'm back again to colored works.
Finally I decided to re-open my FA and upload something sporadically. I will start with a selection of my backlog, especially the vacation ones.
We'll see where we go from there...

Looking for suggestions
Posted 10 years agoI'm plagued by an severe case of artist block... again *sighs* It's incredibly hard to come up with something that motivates me enough to actually bring it to paper. This has to end.
Why am I telling you this? Well, I think I'll pass the ball to my audience. It must be a reason why some people added me to their watchlists, after all. And maybe someone wants to see me drawing a certain theme or style more often... or something completely different for a change.
So, what do you think I should draw next? I really could use some pointers ^_^u

Bookmarks of an web comics addict
Posted 12 years agoInsomnia strikes me hard at the moment, so I thought why not share some of my favourite web comics (what a sleep depraved mind can come up with, I wonder ^_^).
This is only a selection and far from complete (the bookmarks in my web comic folder passed the 50), but maybe there will be updates... probably after some sleep.
There is no particular reason for the order of links; I simply start at the top of my folder and going down.
Crimson Flag http://crimsonflagcomic.com
Virmir draws the fluffiest foxes. And here are lots of them, in every variation... Ah, yes, and magic! ;)
The Whiteboard http://www.the-whiteboard.com
You don't have to play paintball to like this comic.
Exterminatus Now http://exterminatusnow.co.uk/
Kind of a Warhammer 40,000 parody – in Sonic-look ^_^
Sabrina-Online http://www.sabrina-online.com/thismonth.html
The daily life of the skunk girl Sabrina. Great comic with monthly updates.
Better Days http://www.jaynaylor.com/betterdays.....04/post-2.html
One of my all-time favourites. Drama-esque and sometimes NSFW, but definitely worth a look. The comic is finished, but Jay Naylor made a sequel.
Original Life http://www.jaynaylor.com/originallife/
The more light-hearted sequel to Better Days, focusing on Fisk’s family.
Plush And Blood http://www.plushandblood.com/Comic.php
Violent plushies! A bloody issue, but my dark soul was very pleased ^_^
MegaTokyo http://www.megatokyo.com/
Something non-furry this time. Wonderful made clash of cultures, world-views and parallel worlds.
Twokinds http://2kinds.com/
I copy/paste the summary from the TopWebComics list, it’s very fitting ^_^
A clueless hero, a mischievous tigress, an angsty warrior, and a gender-confused wolf.
Slightly damned http://www.sdamned.com/
What do you have to do to enter hell’s “Circle of the slightly damned”? The protagonist of this very cute comic is about to find out ^_^
Housepets! http://www.housepetscomic.com/
By far my favourite webcomic this time. Rick Griffin's masterpiece with one of the cuddliest casts on the web.
Digger http://diggercomic.com
Did I said masterpiece? Here's another one. The art style is unusual, but give it a try. I'm sure you won't regret it.
That's it for now, have fun ^_^

In case you haven't noticed...
Posted 13 years agoBack from vacation
Posted 13 years agoWell, everything ends sometime and vacations are no exceptions *sighs* I had a great and very relaxing time (wow, is that really sun tan?).
I’m back home and looking through my sketchbook it seems I actually took it to good use. In the next couple of days I will post everything I made through these wonderful days. And I hope you will at least partially enjoy my sketches as much as I enjoyed drawing them. ^_^

On vacation - Artist block... what artist block?
Posted 13 years agoWell yes, I'm currently on vacation on the beautiful isle crete (actually about a week already).
And bit by bit, the will to draw comes back to me. I'm scetching a lot when I'm not practising the age-old art of wasting time *cough*
So, when I'm back, hopefully there will be a heap of fresh art to submit. And judging my current mood, there should be.
That's it so far. Greetings from Crete! ^_^

Nabyn
Posted 13 years agoAfter the closure of ArtSpots I was searching for another nice place to maintain a gallery.
Thanks to
teiirka wo invited me to Nabyn, I found one… And finally worked up the dedication to actually make a new gallery there *cough*
If you’re interested, or already have an account there, visit me:

Posted 14 years agoNeed to get out of this artist block --> FREE ART!
Posted 14 years agoAn artist block isn’t something unknown to me, but this one is a real severe. A month has come and gone and I’m still not able to get something on the paper, aside from doodles and a couple of lines in a new story.
So, instead of keep on stewing over the infamous empty sheet, I thought about getting suggestions from other sources. Maybe this will drag me out of the hole. When I’m looking through my gallery I can’t help but notice the crowd of randomly created characters. It could be nice to draw characters of other furs for a change.
And that’s when we come to the interesting part ^_^
I open some slots for character requests, going to the first five to respond to this journal. Just give me a short notice what you have in mind and we could work something out.
-> Please keep in mind that my gallery is rather clean and it will stay that way. Yes, I’m afraid that means: no cock ;)

Leave a comment and I'll...
1. Tell you something I'll learn about you by looking at your FA page for 13 seconds.
2. Tell you which color you remind me of.
3. Tell you my first memory of you.
4. Tell you what pokemon you remind me of (or another weird creature, I’m not that good in pokemonology).
5. Ask you something I've always wondered about you, and your answer has to be as vague as possible to keep the suspense.
6. Tell you my favorite thing about you.
7. Give you a weird nickname.
8. Tell you what's on my shirt right now.
9. Challenge you to post this on your journal.

1. Choose a few of your own characters. Five at the most.
2. Make them answer the following questions and have them interact.
3. Then tag some people.
Characters:
Casim Steinbach
Jenna
Mark Dreamer
A High School Freshman Journalist approaches the group with a survey...
1) WHAT SPECIES ARE EACH OF YOU?
Casim: Caith Sidhe, but the more common term is Catling.
Jenna: Same Species. And I very much dislike the term Catling. It is discriminatory where I come from.
Casim: Honey…
Jenna: If you really need an abbreviation, use “Caith”.
Mark (looking at Casim and Jenna): You could call them Cat-morphs. They’re a mix of features from different feline species.
Jenna: Thanks, smartass.
Casim: And what are you? I’ve never seen a Caith like you.
Mark: Oh, I’m not a Caith. In fact, I’m human. A curse changed me into a snow leopard. The sages at Metamor Keep (that’s the place where I live) call people like me animorphs.
2) BOY OR GIRL?
Casim: Last time I…
Jenna: You mean, last time I checked, you were a boy!
Casim (chuckles): And you’re very much my little girl.
Mark: I’m a guy… still.
Casim: Still?
Mark: Well, the animorph-curse isn’t the only one on Metamor Keep. Another one could change your gender.
Casim: Ouch!
3) HOW OLD ARE YOU?
Jenna: Kind of an indiscrete question, dear.
Casim: I’m 26. And the love of my life…
Jenna: Don’t you dare!
Casim: … is a few years older than me.
Mark: Good dodge, buddy. And for me: I don’t know.
Casim: Truly?
Mark: I lost my memories.
Jenna: (mumbles) How cliché.
4) WHAT'S YOUR HEIGHT?
Casim: Four foot eight. That’s a perfect average for my species, bytheway.
Jenna: Four foot seven.
Mark: Five foot eight.
Casim: I noticed your head is a little higher above the ground. Do you have any Stoor Sidhe genes in you?
Mark: Uhm, I think not… What’s a Stoor?
Jenna: Big, sabre-toothed lump.
5) ARE YOU A VIRGIN?
(Casim and Jenna simply looking at each other and starting to giggle)
Mark: I don’t know of the time before I lost my memories. But now, well, you could call it that *cough*
6) DO YOU LOVE ANYONE?
Casim: Well, my family, most of my clan relatives, the sea, a good time…
(Jenna nudges Casim rather hard)
Casim (smirking): And first of all, my beautiful kitten.
Jenna: And I love you, although I’m wondering sometimes.
Aed: My friends.
7) DO YOU HATE ANYONE?
Casim: Not really.
Jenna: Yes, there is someone. I’m going to change that sometimes.
Casim: Cutting his head off?
Jenna: You bet!
Mark: No, I don’t think so.
8) HAVE YOU KILLED ANYONE?
Casim: Yes, I work sometimes with the border riders, its part of my duties. I fought some battles with bandits.
Jenna: No need to get mushy about your kills, love. They were scum. And for me, yes.
Mark: Looks like all of us have blood on our hands.
9) DO YOU HAVE ANY SECRETS?
Jenna: That’s a dump question.
Casim: If I said “No”, would you believe me?
Mark: Sure. Every time I look into a mirror. There’s a complete mind full of secrets within the head of the guy I see there. But he will not tell me anything.
Casim: I should introduce you to my brother. He made similar experiences.
10) WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE FOOD?
Jenna: A medium raw T-bone steak with mushrooms and onions.
Casim and Mark: (together) Meat!
Jenna: (sighs) Men are simple.
Casim: But happy.
11) WHAT DO YOU DO TO RELAX?
Mark: I’m reading. The keep is famous for its huge library.
Casim: Oh, you’re a man of the books too?
Jenna: Another bookworm. Written words are dead; I’m riding out when I need to relax. (Smirks) Or I grab my boy and…
Casim: (hastily) …Engage other recreational activities.
12) WHAT SEASON DO YOU LIKE BEST AND WHY?
Jenna: Spring, the snow is gone and it’s not too hot then.
Casim: Autumn. I like it how nature changes colours.
Mark: Winter, the only season when I’m not too hot beneath my fur.
Casim: Quite a coat you’re carrying around. Ever considered trimming?
Mark: Once. It looked horrible.
13) IS THERE ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE YOU REGRET DOING?
Jenna: Nothing. Really.
Casim: There was this really dump duel with a sword master who was far better than me. I survived it by hair’s breadth.
Jenna: (snorts) Your brother wasn’t very keen about it.
Casim: You could say that. He almost broke my jaw and didn’t spoke with me for weeks.
Mark: Uhm, maybe?
Jenna: That’s starting to get old, big guy.
14) WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR LIFE EXPECTANCY IS?
Casim: A Caith Sidhe could reach about 250 years.
Mark: Really?
Casim: Sure, doesn’t everyone?
Mark: Well, I’m basically human, so if I’m lucky, I could reach 80, maybe 90. With the help of the gods 100, but that’s it.
Casim: Strange. In my home humans are almost mythical creatures, but no source called them short lived.
Mark: Are we talking about the same species?
Jenna: Probably not, wouldn’t be the first time the world of mouth is messing up something.
15) HOW DO YOU IMAGINE YOUR DEATH TO BE?
Jenna: What scenario do you want to hear, the optimistic or the realistic one?
Casim: Hun…
Jenna: Good, good, the sugar coated one: In bed, surrounded by my loving family and dear friends.
Casim: Actually that is how I imagine my death.
Mark: Violent. Metamor valley and surroundings aren’t the friendliest place to live.
Jenna: Why is he allowed to use the realistic setting and I am not?
Casim: (sighs)
16) YOU ARE TO BE PUT TO DEATH FOR A CRIME YOU DID NOT COMMIT, WHAT WOULD YOUR LAST WORDS BE?
Casim: At that point all words are spoken.
Jenna: Curse them all, and I know something about curses!
Mark: The dream is over.
Jenna: Care to explain this?
Mark: No.
17) IF YOU'D HAVE WON THE LOTTERY, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH THE MONEY?
All: Winning what?
18) IF ANYONE CAME UP WITH A NICKNAME FOR YOU, WHICH WOULD IT BE?
Casim: Uhm…
Jenna: … Blockhead, Mule, Oddball, that would be you (snickers).
Casim: Thank you very much, “Madame Man-eater”.
Mark: Already happened. Several ones, from “Spotty” to “Stripper”. Don’t ask.
Jenna: (giggles) Stripper?
Mark: Don’t. Ask.
19) IF YOU'D BE FANTASTIC AT ONE SPORT, WHICH WOULD IT BE?
Casim: Uhm…
Jenna: Fishing is no sport, dear.
Casim: (grumpy) I was about so say dashball.
Jenna: (ruffles his mane) Of course, I’m only teasing you. And for me: Maybe something involving riding.
Mark: I’m a good sprinter, but fantastic? Seeing some of my fellow keepers, “fantastic” is a world away.
20) AND FINALLY, DO YOU HAVE ANY PHOBIAS?
Casim: What’s a phobia?
Jenna: Something that makes you freeze in fear.
Casim: Sorry Mister, I won’t tell you.
Jenna: The same goes for me.
Mark: Being buried alive.
That’s it.

That’s it.

virmir Go Germany!
Posted 15 years agoI just returned from a party we made after the game Germany - England and I'm pretty tanked now. ^_^
I’m quite sure I’m gonna make myself unpopular, but I can’t keep it to myself. It’s stronger than me…
For 44 years we had to look at one particular goal. Now it’s time for our opponents from the isle to make a similar experience. ;)

Posted 16 years agoBack to the five
Posted 16 years agoI’m about to make a change of anatomical design on my characters.
When I drew my first anthro cats, I gave them five fingers and plantigrade Legs. Later I changed to digitigrade legs with four toes and dewclaws. The dewclaws were removed short time later. I think the feet ´re looking better without them. And finally last year I changed the hands to four fingers.
Some weeks ago I looked back and realised: I don’t have a clue, why I did this! I can’t remember. -,-
So now, after weeks of struggling with this problem, I make a (for the time being) final major modification: Back to the five fingers.
I will probably stick to the four fingers on funnies like “My Nemesis”, ´cause it looks cuter. ^_^
