Hey there
Posted 7 years agoSorry for the unexpected drop off the internet, life got busy.
I got a job finally and got into miniature painting.
I really do apologize for leaving so many messages hanging. I'm going to be going through them all and trying to respond in a better time. I'm going to see if I can set my notifications to send me an email so i know when I have a new message.

Unexpected Hiatus
Posted 8 years agoHey guys!
Sorry for being quiet for so long. Sort of had an unexpected hiatus and have been focusing on some other things lately. As a result, I have not touched my cintiq in a few weeks [bad Proto... bad...] and haven't really been working on art. But don't fret! I will be working on it again soon!
Been getting quite a bit into taxidermy and miniature painting!! I'll probably upload a photo of my miniatures soon, I'm quite pleased with them! I will also be open for painting commissions soon.
My taxidermy has been going well. I've gotten my dermestid beetles and they have sped up my work considerably. Thanks to that, I've been able to work on my jewelry more often!
You can check out my Etsy here!
I've been invited to vendor at an event in Denver in october! a one day market event that has vendors selling punk, goth, metal, and horror themed items! I'm super excited and hopefully I'll have a lot more jewelry to take there once my supplies come in.
You can check out my Taxidermy stuff here! *** CONTAINS PHOTOS OF GORE and dead animals.*** Please do not visit it if you cannot handle that stuff. All the animals I work on are either roadkill or died of natural causes. I also post photos there of anatomy and bone references that are useful for artists.
I've been more active on Discord lately, so please, if you are a commissioner send me a note asking for my discord ID number and I will send it to you.

Commissions updates
Posted 10 years agoHey guys, working rather slow lately, sort of a shitty time of year. I haven't really been able to focus on much lately. Here's a list of things I need to complete:
Sugiguardian- colored/shaded fullbody sketch. I'll throw in a small BG as well.
Riley- other fall/winter icon
Adleisio - sketch [I lost the sketchbook paper you gave me, do you mind if I do a digital one instead?]
Zantal- coffee paint of a RAWRSCARY Feral crocodile
Fix zantor's badge to the proper eye color
Nick - 2x environmental sketchythingies &colored sketch
I'll be opening smaller things and a YCH or two as well since I am really in need of some cash.
I need a fucking secretary to help me with keeping on track with commissions lmao.

how do normal people do this

I've never played a Fallout game before so I got a fun crash course and I made My Bae, Isaac because there's a GODDAMN MAN BUN for a hairstyle and I fucking LOVE IT. First RPG game where I'm playing as a dude! Mostly because I hated all the hairstyles for females lmao.
ON TO CONTINUE MY HABIT OF STARTING GAMES AND NEVER FINISHING THEM BUT I'll finish Witcher 3 eventually that game was really fun and Geralt is a silver fox goddamn man holy shit
Commissions are still being worked on don't fret. I'll probably open up again soon.

Posted 10 years agoIf a submission has comments disabled, don't send comments about the piece to the artist via the note system. It's fucking rude..
If they wanted to have comments about the piece, then they would have left the comments enabled.
I've gotten no less than three messages about the last one. I am not going to reply to any of them, I am just going to delete them.
Do not say "finally someone who understands" or "I know how you feel" if you are not within my circle. I have only told about six people the entire story. Some of the friends that I talk to every single day and treat like family don't know the full story. Acting like you know how someone feels about a situation you have not been told about in its entirety is fucking rude.
I don't mind the messages like "if you need to talk, my inbox is open" [i sort of delete those anyway, but the thought is noted and appreciated] but when people try to kiss my ass and act like they know what's going on, that is what pisses me off and that's the quickest route to getting on my shitlist.
Do not send me "Im sorry" messages about this, I have no interest in your apologies. Just don't do it again.

RMFC Recap!
Posted 10 years agoHad a TON of fun this con, despite not being very prepared. I learned a lot about what to do for next year as well. I had a great time with my group of friends and I got to meet a whole bunch of new people as well! I got a lot of commissions which I am excited to start on after I take a few days to recover my lost sleep and just de-stress.
- Have an assistant. It will help a LOT. They can talk to people about prints while you get some of your work done. They also help shoo people away who have been there for 45 minutes. Either pay them or if they are doing it out of kindness, draw them some stuff. Seriously, get an assistant. I’ve already got one lined up for next year (thank you ruru) but make sure to get someone who’s your friend and who you can trust 100%
- DRINK WATER. GET FOOD. GET SLEEP. I was running on 45 minutes of sleep on Sunday and it was not great. Drink lots of water. Even if you have to pee every 10-15 minutes, it’s still better than being dehydrated. If you have an assistant or you have a friend at the con who is getting food, give them money to get you some food. Take five minutes to run to the hotel cafe or something. Food is incredibly important. Take a few minutes break to eat your meal. your customers will understand.
- Make prints. Make at least 5 to 7 of each thing you are bringing if it is a smaller con. 10+ of each if you are at a smaller con. I will probably sell more prints next year, but this year being my first and because I had people hovering in front of my table, I did not sell many. Matte prints are nice, but glossy are good too. I prefer matte myself.
- Commissions will be your main earnings. Do special commissions that are convention only. This will be a bulk of your sales.
- Have a cash box. Do all of your pricing in increments of $5. Have at least $150 in your cash box for change. (20 $1′s, 15 $5′s, 10 $10′s, etc.) Cash is much easier to deal with than cards. I personally only did cash because the new SWIPE things aren’t out yet for the new cards. Take your cash box back to your room or wherever you are sleeping at the end of the day. Do not leave your cash box in the dealers room.
- Take inventory of your cash box every night. This is very important to make sure no one has stolen any money.
- If you think you might not have time to do the commission at the con, let the commissioner know. All of mine were incredibly understanding and super nice about take home commissions.
- Limit your con commission slots. Just do it. You’ll be happier.
- Slash your prices on prints/material goods on Sundays. I slashed mine by almost 50% and got rid of some stuff. Sure it’s not the money you want to be paid for, but it’s still money and less stuff you have to keep track of at home.
- Take a few minutes to get out from behind your table to stretch and walk around. This is very important. Your back and legs will thank you. Talk to friends, view the dealers area. Go have a little fun. Buy some cute shit. You deserve it.
- If someone is bothering you, go straight to con ops. Don't even give them a warning. Just go right to the con staff. They will make sure to talk to that person and deal with them properly.
Advice to con-goers.
- Do not hover around an artists table for an hour talking to them. They have shit they need to get done. I am honestly too nice of a person to tell people I need to get working so I ended up with a lot of talk and not much to show for it. Please do not crowd an artists table. Commission them, say hi, or buy something, and then let them continue. You block people from viewing their work and buying things.
- DO NOT. PUT YOUR SHIT. ON AN ARTISTS. TABLE. JUST DON’T FUCKING DO THIS. I Had a few people do this and it was incredibly irritating. If you need to set something down for a second to get your wallet or a reference, ask them first. Ask “may I set my stuff here for a second?” and then do your best to get your shit off asap. You are messing up their table layout or bending prints. You are keeping people from viewing their work. ARTISTS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE STUFF YOU SET DOWN ON THEIR TABLE. IF IT GETS STOLEN, WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE. IF YOU NEED SOMEWHERE TO STORE YOUR SHIT, GO TO CON OPERATIONS AND ASK. DO NOT ASK SOMEONE WITH A TABLE TO DO THIS. WE’VE GOT ENOUGH SHIT TO KEEP TRACK OF. Even if they are a friend, do not do this.
- Did I say don't put shit on an artists or neighboring artists table? Don't do this. It is disrespectful.

Posted 10 years agoTHESE FUCKIN THUNDERSTORMS NEED TO GO THE FUCK AWAY SO I CAN ACTUALLY DO SHIT LIKE SEND PEOPLE THEIR ART
UGH
I'm so fucking tired of severe weather this year already. It's keeping me from doing work and playing the games I just spent a load of money on.
Pretty much every time I've decided to hop on the computer for the past week a fucking thunderstorm rolls through and I have to turn off the comp to make sure it doesn't get fried if the power goes out
but on the other hand I'm actually doodling in my sketchbook more and working on my headworld stuff, so that's sort of a plus... for me.
I apologize to those who I have not sent their art to yet. I'll try to get on it asap :C

Notes on Fursuiting
Posted 10 years agoI've only fursuited once, but I feel like I need to say this.
Do not stuff your fursuit head in other people’s faces. I had this happen a few times and it was very uncomfortable and I actually had to physically push one person away because they kept pushing theirs right into mine (rather roughly too) and I was afraid mine would get damaged.
Do not touch other con-goers without their permission. This includes other fursuiters. Some people are uncomfortable with furries and do not wish to be hugged or touched. Some fursuiters do not want to be hugged. You absolutely need to respect this. If you want a photo with someone, have your handler ask them or speak very clearly.
If you want to hug someone, hold out your arms for the universal “hug?” gesture. If they do not return it or turn away, do not pester them. Leave them be. Do not hug them anyways. I had multiple fursuiters do this when I shook my head and hands no. I know it can be hard to see, but you really need to make sure the person wants a hug before you do it.
You need to be respectful of other people’s wishes at all times when in suit. This is why furries get bad rep, because some furries do not respect physical boundaries.
I had a rather large badge that said “Please ASK before hugging me.” and everyone but the fursuiters asked me first. Other con-goers were very respectful of asking me. They even asked if they could put their arm around me for photos. Even children asked me if it was ok and if they couldn’t read yet, their parents asked me. Everyone but the fursuiters were very respectful of my personal space. [there were maybe two that I met that actually asked me first]
Also for the love of god, do not hold children. No matter what the parents or kids want. I had a few people ask me to pick up their kids or hold their baby and I flat out refused. If you drop them or something you’re in for a world of legal trouble. Be aware of where your hands are. I know this is hard because we can’t really feel or see, but try to keep your hands to their shoulders or upper back only. This keeps the photo from turning out awkward looking and they can’t accuse you of molestation or something. For photos with kids, kneel down to their level if you can.

Paypal's thing
Posted 10 years agoGeneral overview of what's going on with paypal. Their policies are subject to change at any time after I post this. I just want to help keep people's accounts safe <3 If you're gonna be all "MEH I DON'T BELIEVE U!!!" Then just call paypal yourself to confirm it. Honestly I'll probably just hide rude comments. If you can't be nice, just don't say anything. (you should've learned this from Thumper all those years ago)
TLDR version;
As long as you are sending your commission payments as "For Goods and Services" you will not get in trouble. [and of course, as long as you don't mention if the payment is for anything nsfw]
If you already use invoices or send things as 'For Goods and Services' then you are a good lil Jellybean have nothing to worry about. (gives u a gold star)
What is it?
Paypal will be updating it's policies. This includes a $2,500.00 fine if they catch you breaking their Acceptable Use Policy. (because most sites have this in order for you to use them, surprise!) This will go into effect on July 1, 2015.
They can also close your account, hold your balance, suspend you from using paypal in the future, and take other legal action.
Why are they fining us for breaking their AUP??
Because breaking rules sort of has consequences, especially when you are essentially stealing money from them while they provide you with a easy-to-use service. They are also dealing with people much bigger than artists that are repeatedly breaking their AUP and they have to scare them off a little with a big fine.
It has always been against their AUP to skirt around fines, but now they are getting tired of it, and rightfully so.
Why are you telling us this?
Because when you send commission payments as "gifts" to get around Paypal's fees, you are essentially committing small fraud. Which is illegal. Which violates Paypal's AUP. If they catch you, then they can fine you $2,500.00 per violation starting July 1, 2015 (among other things like locking your account and keeping you from using paypal in the future, taking legal action, etc.). I personally called Paypal to confirm this, you can too if you want. [go to 'contact us' on Paypal's website]
Fraud is the deliberate deception to secure unfair or unlawful gain. So basically by deliberately skirting the fees, you are committing fraud. Please don't do this.
HOW DO THEY KNOW???
Because when an account is given multiple "gifts", then it's pretty much reason for suspicion and they will most likely investigate. And yes, they are allowed to investigate anything that might violate their AUP. Also, if a commissioner sends payment and puts anything about "commission" or "artwork" in the payment, then it's a dead giveaway that you are trying to get around the fees.
They will not get you for a single transaction. You have to be making multiple ones to raise suspicion. But honestly? Just stop being a cheapskate and use their services the way they are supposed to be used and you'll have no worry at all! (honestly, it's just a few dollars)
How can I avoid this?
Abide by their AUP and just send commission payments as "For Goods and Services" instead of being a little buttfuck and trying to get around the fees. It's not worth the risk and Paypal takes a very small fee. Adjust your prices to deal with the fee so you still get what you need. [I honestly don't have a problem with the fees]
Do not accept payments that are sent as "gifts". Tell your commissioners to send them as "for goods and services."
ARTISTS: Send invoices. Here is a tutorial on how to do that properly. These are amazing little things and help you stay organized <3
Commissioners: do not send your payments as gifts. This risks your account and your artists. If your artists asks for it to be sent as a gift, then please let them know of the AUP or send enough to cover the small fee.
But what if I am sending a legit gift or tip??
as long as you aren't sending legitimate gifts too often, you should be ok. Or using a person's "donate" button will help too. I would ask about this though, as I am not 100% sure.
Tips, however, as long as it's actually a tip, you can probably just put "a tip for your hard work, thank you!" in the payment notes and you SHOULD be ok. Just don't abuse it.
I'm not gonna do this, I don't believe you
That's fine. You aren't obligated to believe me.
If you need any help understanding any of this, please let me know and I'll do my best to help you.
Paypal is not out to get you. As long as you abide by their AUP, you will not get in trouble.
They also aren't going to get you for a few "gift" transactions here and there. As long as you aren't doing enough to raise suspicion. But honestly, it's just better for you if you just send it as "goods and services."
And selling porn is against their AUP anyways, but just make sure not to mention anything NSFW while making invoices/sending payments and you should be fine.
I literally called paypal and said "so it's against your AUP to pay for goods/services by using the gift option to send payment instead to get around the fees, correct?" "yes ma'am. That's fraud. Depending on the amount, we may or may not report it to the IRS, but we will fine and take other actions if we catch it happening." "HA I KNEW IT. THANK YOU. NO ONE BELIEVED ME." and then the lady laughed.

REALLY important paypal upate [everyone should read]
Posted 10 years agoEVERYONE needs to start using Invoices. This is very important.
UPDATE: THIS IS AN UPCOMING POLICY CHANGE THAT IS GOING TO TAKE EFFECT ON JULY 1, 2015. IT IS NOT CURRENTLY IN THEIR TOS. MAYBE YOU SHOULD LOOK ON THE SITE FOR LONGER THAN TWO SECONDS.
Paypal has recently updated their TOS and it's something that everyone should pay attention to.
"10.3h If you violate the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy, … you will be liable to PayPal for the amount of PayPal’s damages caused by your violation … You acknowledge and agree that $2,500.00 USD per violation … is presently a reasonable minimum estimate of PayPal’s actual damages … PayPal may deduct such damages directly from any existing Balance in the offending Account or any other Account you control."
DO NOT SEND PAYMENTS AS "GIFTS" You will be risking your commissioners account and that is really really bad.
Artists, REQUEST PAYMENT THROUGH INVOICES. It lets YOU control how money is sent.
Commissioners, DO NOT SEND PAYMENT unless you send it through "for goods and services." If your artist requests 'send as gifts' BEFORE you send payment, tell them about the $2,500 fine per violation, as they probably do not know about it.
Yes, paypal fees suck, but it's better to have a few dollars missing than to get fined $2,500 for a $20 purchase.

Updates~
Posted 10 years agoAlright, thought I'd update some people on what's going on.
Commissions are being worked on. Very slowly however.
The reason being because I am very desperately trying to finish my partial and cosplay pieces before DCC in May. I'm also trying not to do a rush job on it so it looks good and not shitty. I get incredibly anxious when trying to finish a cosplay and it's making the whole process slower.
I thank you all for your patience <3

Posted 10 years agoso I met a cute boy at home depot the other day when I was looking for a heat gun, he noticed my dead space shirt and then we got talking about video games and he has the same video game likes as me?? and he hates call of duty?? and thought the 4th Halo was shit?? and loves dead space and mass effect??!! And he thinks that collecting everything is important in a video game?
he's also anime trash and got excited when I told him I watched and enjoyed Space Dandy and the Miyazaki movies and then invited me to come hang out with him and his friends during their weekly Monster Hunter battles at the local card shop?
plus he's super cute??
and I told him about my Shepherd partial and he didn't seem too freaked out that I replied to his question "so are you a furry?" and I answered "oh yeah I'm fucking furry trash." and he could've been internally screaming but still gave me his number?
Also didn't seem freaked out that I had an assload of reptiles?
he's a little shorter than I prefer but he's still super cute? and adorable? and my face felt like the surface of the sun I was blushin' so hard. Haven't had a guy flirt with me like that in... well ever xD; I'm not used to it! I don't know how to flirt!
Not gonna rush it tho. He needs to hang out in the friendzone to make sure he can handle being a friend first. If it goes well, then maybe I'll consider him. :o

Beh
Posted 10 years agoI can never think of titles for journals, pfft
Plan of action for today: Sketch commission, freebie headshots, and then the trade I have
Take a break and watch an episode of game of thrones
Then work on a picture I plan on making available as a print
Commissions are OPEN But my price sheet is going to get a bit of a makeover and updated prices and such so I'll probably work on updating that later tonight.
