RIP Roger Moore

He was always the real James Bond to me, with his movies coming out during my youth.
There are so many wonderful memories with how goofy and fun those movies were, and it is sad to see him go, even with how old he lived to be.

What gives frog tongues the gift of grab?

Internet videos of frogs feasting sparked Noel’s curiosity about their ability “to eat furry things, hairy things, slimy things,”

Beware of new Gmail phishing scam
Posted 9 years agoFull article here:
http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2017/01.....hing-scam.html
The ruse aims to steal usernames and passwords for Gmail and other services, and "is being used right now with a high success rate," according to Mark Maunder, CEO of WordPress security plugin Wordfence, who described the campaign in detail. Like other phishing attacks, this one starts with an email. Instead of a random person, the email may appear to have been sent by someone you know, and it may include an image of an attachment you recognize from the sender.
"You click on the image, expecting Gmail to give you a preview of the attachment. Instead, a new tab opens up and you are prompted by Gmail to sign in again. You glance at the location bar and you see accounts.google.com in there," Maunder wrote.
Once you sign in, the attackers have full access to your account.

World's Largest Cave
Posted 9 years agoDiscovered in 1991, but not explored for 18 years, this just goes to show that even on land, there is still so much to be discovered on this planet.
The largest room in the Sơn Đoòng cave is more than five kilometers long and stretches 200 meters into the air.

The images are spectacular. I definitely have to research this some more.

Supermoon - The Werewolves may be extra savage on Monday
Posted 9 years agoOn Monday, Earthlings will be treated to a so-called supermoon — the closest full moon of the year.
Monday's supermoon will be extra super — it will be the closest the moon comes to us in almost 69 years. And it won't happen again for another 18 years.

Vore in Gamera 2016 trailer
Posted 9 years agoGamera movies have always been good for the occasional vore scene, and it's awesome to see the new movie will have at least one scene. Hopefully there is more than just what the trailer shows.
I love the camera work here, beautifully capturing a true sense of size and power for Gamera and the Gyaos. The almost molten look to the saliva falling from Gamera's mouth also looks amazing. I also love how genuine the danger and tension feels here, as well as how terrifying, such destruction can be. This will hopefully be an amazing movie.

AnthrOhio - Away May 5th - 9th
Posted 9 years agoI'll be heading to AnthrOhio (previously Morphicon) tomorrow and returning on Monday.
While I'll have my laptop with me, I won't be getting online all that often. So, if any artists I have open commissions with try to contact me, please be aware that it may take a little while before I reply.
I look forward to seeing everyone else who goes.

R.I.P. Keith Emerson
Posted 9 years agoThe musical world of 2016 has taken another hit with the loss of keyboardist, Keith Emerson, who unfortunately committed suicide at the age of 71.
Just the other day, The Beatles producer, George Martin passed away at the age of 90 (he also produced bands like America, Ultravox, Jeff Beck, Kenny Rogers, Cheap Trick…). Just not a good year for any aging members of the music industry.

Inanimate Object Transformation commissions
Posted 10 years agoHey everyone,
I've recently gotten several transformation comic page commissions by the wonderful transformation artist, AbbySoto, on DA.
These do not involve furry characters, so I'm not posting them to FA; but I know some of my watchers might enjoy them, so here are the links to their appearance on the artist's gallery on DA:
1) TF'd into Fireworks
2) TF'd into Cigar
3) TF'd into Scat
(remember to click the Download button to the right of the images, to see the full-sized versions)
Enjoy and check out the rest of AbbySoto's awesome work. :)

Website for Artists to find Commissioners and vice versa
Posted 10 years agoI was recently introduced to the wesite: https://commissionr.net/
I do not yet know how effective of a site it will be for finding new artists, especially with how little time I have to be on sites other than FA anymore. But I figured it was worth mentioning, as I know a lot of artists are often looking for new ways of finding people to commission them, and this might be of some help to them.

World we're missing - How your characters might see color
Posted 10 years agoAs we all know, humans have 3 color receptors in their eyes: red, yellow and blue.
Birds, however, have a 4th receptor, in the ultraviolet range. There is no color name for this range, because we simply cannot see it.
This means that birds see the world in a way that is unimaginable to us, and why birds can so easily discern the differences between males and females of their species, which might appear identical to us.
Considering all of the unique species which artists and writers create around here, I thought this might be of interest to a lot of people, for possibly adding that extra little dimension to their characters.
You can read the entire article about how birds see color, here: http://blog.nature.org/science/2015.....563&loc=b8

I'll be able to get online at the hotel, but I don't have much time to do so while at conventions, so it may take a little while for me to reply to any attempted contact. But, I'll try to reply as soon as possible.

Do you check out the original artist on commissioned pieces?
Posted 11 years agoThis question came to mind after seeing an artist's commissions rules include one that says the commissioner is not allowed to repost the artwork anywhere. The reasoning was that this takes away from Views and Faves on their submission of the piece, and it does not get them any new watchers.
When I post up new art, I tend to keep an eye on the original artist for the next week or so, to see if the original work gets any more faves, as well as if they get new watchers, from people who were watching me. In a majority of the cases, I do see a handful of my watchers add that artist to their watch list, but there are many instances where they do not get a single, new watcher (and often have fewer than 500 watchers of their own, so I know they are not already being watched by most of my watchers).
So, given that all of the artwork I post up is by other artists (whether commissions or gifts), I was wondering how many of you actually check out the original artist's page, if you're not already watching them as well? This is particularly when you favorite the artwork on my page.
The primary reason I post up the artwork I get, is to help advertise the artist and offer an additional showcase for their work. Many of the artists I commission have fewer than 500 watchers, so I always hope that people follow the links back to the original artist and at least check out their gallery.
Personally, whenever I see someone post a picture they had commissioned, and it is something I consider faving or saving, I always check out the original artist to see if they might be someone I want to add to my watch list. I just wonder how many other people do the same thing.

DDOS Attack - The Perfect Crime [satire]
Posted 11 years agoOkay, I wanted to push off my previous journal, so figured this might be a fun way to do so.
Please note that what I am putting below here is merely meant as satire, in response to some of the conspiracy theories I've heard in regard to the DDOS attack that FA is just recovering from.
I do not in any way think or believe that this is what happened, but merely want to point out how easy it is to come up with some theory that is just as feasible as any other, no matter how unlikely.
How to pull off the perfect DDOS attack crime.
You discover that the more popular website you are in direct competition with, is about to do a gofundme drive, in order to improve their services and advance them to be more like what you offer. Being the new kid on the block, you know that the only advantage you have right now, is that you offer services that they do not. So, you know you must stop them. But what can you do?
For starters, you know that anyone on top is always seen as the bad guy, so you will use that. Your own popularity is primarily because past issues experienced by your competition have led people to abandon them and come to you. So, now you just have to devise a plan to capitalize on that.
Site downtime is the biggest threat to any web site, so that's where you'll focus your plan of attack. So, you secretly orchestrate a massive DDOS attack against them, to coincide with the launch of their gofundme drive. This helps in two ways, as it not only shuts down that site and thus drive desperate users to your site, but it also keeps people from learning about the gofundme drive, for several more days.
Of course, you know that attacking just that one competitor would raise suspicions, so you instead broaden the attack to include the other furry art sites as well, though you make sure to minimize any harm to them. It's only the big boy that you're really after, but if you make it look like an attack on furries themselves and not just a single website, people's sympathies will go to all of the art sites, and not just the one you are after.
The attack goes off as planned, and true to your hopes and desires, those desperate for their furry porn, do indeed flock to your site, which was miraculously, barely affected by the attack at all. Everything is working out perfectly, but that's not enough. You know that the big site will recover and be back online within a few days, so you need to do more. But what?
Of course... You already know that there is a lot of distrust and animosity toward the admins of that site, so turn things around and use that against them. Anonymously release the news you had learned about the gofundme drive. Claim that there was no way the admins could have known they would need money to beef up security, unless they orchestrated an attack on themselves, in order to show where that security was lacking. Make sure to cover up any facts that the gofundme's initial intentions were to improve hardware and work on performance and functionality enhancements. Just spread the rumors that it was all an inside job, rekindling any feelings of distrust people already have.
But the conspiracy theory doesn't spread quickly or widely enough, and the users of that big site show their support and start to donate thousands of dollars. Now desperate to stop this from working, you create an anonymous lulz.net account and use that to contact gofundme, getting them to take down the gofundme drive as inappropriate material.
Unfortunately, that big competitor is able to recover the money already donated, but at the end of the day, things still worked out for you. Your site has gained more users and the hatred and mistrust of your competitor has grown. They did not raise all that they needed and wanted, so their ultimate plans will be further delayed. You are safe for now and nobody is the wiser that it was you, who orchestrated it all.
You have pulled off the perfect DDOS attack crime.
