Final Call - Need Preds & Prey for Friends of Rodent series

Just because I've used you in a series before, doesn't mean you can't be in this one as well.
So, if you haven't already submitted a character and are interested in doing so, please head over to this earlier journal for all the details:

Friends of Rodent IV - I need Preds and Prey

I knew that for Friends of Rodent III, it was going to be difficult finding people to join because I was only looking for Psychotic Killer characters. I just never imagined it was going to be this difficult to find Preds and Prey for this newest series.
Yes, I am looking for Preds that are more monstrous or unique in appearance, but given how many 'creature-like' characters I see, I'm just surprised at the low turnout so far. 7 preds filling out the info so far.
And prey? Only 4 people have signed up as prey after 24 hours? Have they all been eaten elsewhere already?
I can only assume that Rodent no longer has many friends to offer free slots to.

Friends of Rodent IV - Beastly predators & tasty prey CLOSED
Posted 14 years agoCHARACTER SUBMISSION STATUS = CLOSED(This is free for submitted characters. I will be paying for the artwork to be done)
I know... series III has not been done yet, but while waiting for RL and motivation for the artist of that series to flourish again (I never ask artists to force themselves to work on art for me until they are ready), I thought it was time to open up for a Series IV of the Friends of Rodent Commerative Coin Collection. :)
If you're not familiar with my Friends of Rodent series, the idea was to create images that have the look of commemorative coin collections, where each coin features a character of one of my 'friends'.

Now, the theme for this series is monstrous predators. That is, I'm looking for predators who might be considered or confused as Creatures or Monsters (yes, this does include dragons and dinosaurs). What it does not include, are normal furries who simply happen to like to eat others. Though it does include anthros who are unique enough to not be your typical canine or feline; as well as those who may devour others in a unique manner.
However... and here's the fun part... I also need the prey for these predators. That's right. This round will not involve my characters as either predator or prey, but instead will involve Friends to play both rolls (other than one coin that will involve the artist's predator consuming one of my characters).
So, I'm going to need 27 predators and 27 prey, but before submitting your character:
READ THE FOLLOWING NOTES
NOTE 1: You can only submit one of your characters for each category of predator or prey. If you have multiple predators or prey, you have to pick which one you want to enter. Also, if you are chosen as a predator, your prey will not be chosen, and vice versa. I want to allow as many different people a slot as possible. Also, your character must normally be associated with the category you select. In other words, if your character is almost always a predator, please don't designate him as prey just to try to get him into a slot.
NOTE 2: Most likely, more than 27 entries will be made for each category, meaning that not everyone will be selected. I do not use random selection, but instead base my choice on uniqueness of the character (particularly for predators), as well as if I've never used them before in a commission. But don't forget that this is a "Friends of Rodent" series. That means that if you've never posted a comment to one of my submissions (and I've never commented on yours), I probably don't know you. The characters of such people will naturally be lower on the list of who gets picked. These are meant for friends, not simply random watchers wanting free art.
NOTE 3: You will be asked to provide your vore preferences. I will then use this information to pair up predators with prey. Adult situations are allowed (such as cock vore), but this is not a preference of the artist and so will not be a common theme (especially if the predators do not list that as an option of predation). Therefore, every prey must provide at least 2 preferences of how they enjoy being eaten. Preds can supply as many options as they are capable of performing. :)
NOTE 4: When providing your character description, assume that the ARTIST DOES NOT KNOW YOU. This means, either have some good picture references, or provide a good, textual description. Include any specific details that might upset you if done wrong (such as eyes being different colors from each other). In other words, make it easier for the artist to do it right. There will be no review stage, so the artist will use what you provide in the description.
Now, what I need from you...
Character Descriptions
Please fill out the blank form given below to describe your character. This information is necessary because the artist does not know your character and if you want your character to look and act anything like them, you need to help the artist out.
Text descriptions are helpful for smaller details, but most artists prefer to work off of existing picture references. So please include any such references if you have them.
NOTE 5: Vore Types: This has 2 parts:
- willing, unwilling, or either. This determines if the prey should be seen struggling/afraid or not.
- Soft, Medium, Hard, or Any. I know... nobody heard of Medium before. So, what I mean by this is the vore should be Soft, but some blood is okay and enjoyed. Just not being completely shred open or losing limbs. 'Any' means that you don't have a preference and want to just be surprised by the results.
NOTE 6: Vore Methods: Predators must choose at least one, but can select as many as they are capable of performing, and enjoy seeing. Prey must choose at least two. The final decisions will be forced by what the selected predators can do. If all 27 predators only say 'oral vore', then the prey selection will be limited to only those who included Oral vore in their preferences. I will not force a predator to do something they do not do, nor subject a prey to a fate they will not enjoy.
- Basic selections include: Oral, Tail, Anal, Cock, Unbirth (assuming female preds), Nasal, Vampirism, Absorption, Soul, Navel, Pouch, cooking
- Custom/Unique selections: Tongue (devouring through opening in tongue), Tentacle (devoured through opening in tentacle appendage)
(Remember, if no predator peforms a particular method of vore, it won't happen. Which is why it is important for the Prey to include multiple options.)
If a predator has some other unique or interesting method of consuming prey, feel free to include it in your description and I can add it to the list here.
NOTE 7: Vore Gender: Some people only like to devour or be devoured by specific genders. So if you do have such a preference, please designate that as well:
- male, female, herm or doesn't matter (you can specify a preferred choice, though willingness for others if you wish)
And remember that a Gender choice can affect being selected. For instance, if 5 preds only eat females and there's only one female prey submission, than only one of those preds would be chosen. Same for prey who might only want to be eaten by a female or male.

Because there were so many wonderful entries, I talked with the artist, and we are going with 2 pictures, instead of just 1. This means that 6 predators have been selected.
Unfortunately, with there being 36 entries, 30 of them could not be used. This is disheartening, as I really wanted to use each and everyone one of you, but there's no way I can get another 10 commissions to do so. Heh.

Posted 15 years agoWow. 2010 was more active for me than I ever imagined in regard to both commissions, and gifts.
While I fell just shy of commissioning 100 artists and writers, the list only reminds me of how many fantastic, creative members FA has.
My thanks to all of the people I have worked with this past year in humoring this rat's weird flights of fancy, and I hope to continue working with more of you in the year to come.

Hey everyone. With the completion of the Friends of Rodent II series, it's time to set things up for Series III.
If you're not familiar with my Friends of Rodent series, the idea was to create images that have the look of commemorative coin collections, where each coin features a character of one of my 'friends'.

The theme for Series III is insane, psycho killers
So, I am looking for people I know who have a psychotic character who enjoys killing others for fun.
NOTE 1: You must be a friend of mine, or at least someone I've corresponded with before (even if it was only through posts here on FA). There is no need for Rodent to have 'met' these characters in some way before this, but the owner of the character must be someone I know. I am paying an artist to do these, and want to do so as a gift for my friends, not total strangers.
NOTE 2: I'm not looking for characters who are simply evil and enjoy killing, but those that were created and defined as at least somewhat insane or psychotic. However, because I do not know how many such characters belong to friends of mine, if you have a sufficiently evil and cruel character, you can include them as well. Just be aware that there will be a cut-off. So, if there are a lot of entries, some may not be selected.
NOTE 3: The selected characters will be shown performing an act of violence upon one of my characters, with a high probability of their being blood and gore. The details of the scene will be up to the artist to decide, though it should also be noted that the artist does not draw sexual scenes or bits. The final pictures will be Mature for violence, but not Adult for any sexual content.
NOTE 4: When giving your character description/reference, please be sure to include the character's modus operandi.
That is, what weapons he or she may prefer to use, along with what they enjoy doing to their victim.
Do they prefer strangulation? decapitation? dismemberment? gutting? electrocution? drowning? shooting? or just ripping someone apart with their claws?
I want to have the characters portrayed carrying out an act of murder in the manner in which you created them to enjoy doing it.
NOTE 5: This is NOT a first-come, first-accepted situation. The journal will be open for at least 1 week, or until a suitable number of entries are submitted. So, take your time and think about who you may want to have in this series.

Seeking some fellow rat victims for a commission {CLOSED}

Okay, I know that there are some fellow rats who watch me, and I'd like to include some of you in an upcoming commission. So, rather than sending out notes to each of you individually, I'm putting out this journal with which you can reply to.
Note: This is for people who's main character is a rat, and not someone who simply has a rat character somewhere in their repertoire of characters.
First, the artist I'm commissioning for this has a number of commissions already on queue, so it will be a while before this is done. In other words, don't expect anything for a while.
Next, I don't want to give away the full details of the commission in this journal, but the fate of the rats would not be all cute and cuddly. If you don't know the types of things that can happen to a rat in the commissions I get, you haven't been paying much attention to my gallery. ;)
If you really wish to know more before deciding, send me a note and I can give you more details that way.
Obviously, to use your character, I will need information and descriptions/references on the character; similar to what I had asked for in the Friends of Rodent II journal, filling out the following information:

"Friends of Rodent II" - Looking for Victims/Prey

As with the previous Friends of Rodent 'coin collection' that was done by Van-Weasel, I want to do a second series, but this time for my Prey friends. Although these are going to be done by a different artist, you can see the general type of size and layout that these images will include here:

THE RULES:
1) Your character must be a prey character most of the time. This is not for pred characters who simply want to be in a role-reversal pic with Rodent. THIS IS FOR PREY. Characters who have played pred but prefer or highly enjoy being prey, are okay. I know who you are.
2) You must be a friend of mine. I am not the artist. I am paying for each of these pictures, and it is only for people who are currently friends of mine. If the extent of our interactions have been an occasional 'nice pic' comment or a few Fav's on artwork, that does not classify us as friends. This is not an offer for Free art, but to give my Friends the chance to be my Prey.
3) I will make the final call on who will be used in this series. There is not an unlimited amount of slots available, so depending on the turnout, some cuts will inevitably be made.
4) This is a vore or snuff series. That means desires for cuddling or yiffing will be ignored. Also, the artist is not in a position to do adult situations, so that means no cock or anal vore. Sorry for those who were hoping to have such an encounter with Rodent this time. But blood and gore is perfectly fine, as well as your normal, tasty soft vore.
5) Although this is a "Friends of Rodent" series, I will allow the use of my coyote Tannis, or my vampire rat, Sebastian Kallozar (Vampirism only) or my unnamed Jackal(graphic soul vore only), for those who really have no desire to be prey to Rodent, but would like to be with one of the others.

I don't care if you're from the planer Zerg of if you can use the power of your mind to melt metal. The artist only needs to know what you look like, and what type of situation you wish to be in.
7) You must supply the situation you want your character to be in. I am going to allow my characters to be used however you may wish to fulfill these desires (within the no adult content limitation). But in regard to vore, snuff, blood, gore, etc... what you want to have happen to you, is what I will allow to have happen.
Please be as general, yet specific as you can. The artist is going to be given free reign over the actual look of these pictures, beyond the basic idea, so please consider that in your request. For instance, just saying I want to be eaten by Rodent is a bit too vague. Do you want it to be head-first, feet-first, rump-first? Should there be any blood?
However, at the same time, don't try to describe the request down to the finest detail. In other words, nothing along the lines of "I want to be eaten feet-first, up to my chest with only one arm sticking out of Rodent's mouth and my head back and eyes closed, panting in excitement.
Beyond the willingly being swallowed feet first, the rest is going to be up to the artist to decide on.
8) This is NOT a first-repliers accepted situation. Take your time to think about what type of scene you want your character to be in, and find supply references and information that will be the most helpful to the artist. As stated previously, I reserve the right to decline any requests based on content, your character not being a preyish character, or you not being one of my closer friends and only looking for free art.

MFM Fursuit Pictures
Posted 16 years agoIt took a couple of weeks, but I finally managed to edit and upload my photos from this year's Mephit Furmeet convention.

Because this was my first time at MFM, I don't know any of the fursuiters there. So, if you see someone you recognize, please pass along the link. I enjoy taking photos of fursuiters and always hope they get to see the photos. So, any help with that is greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, I tried something new with the fursuit parade, where I set the camera to it's 'sports' mode. Given how quickly the fursuiters will often walk by, I had hoped that this mode, which continuously refocuses while shooting, would have worked better. It didn't. So, most of the parade photos are slightly blurry and some were discarded completely because they were so bad. Live and learn. :)

Posted 16 years agoThere's a lot of music out there, and everyone has songs that have affected them in some way. Through good times and bad, music can console or drive us forward. For myself, it was Progressive and Classic Rock that filled those needs that I had, and later on, various New Age would set my imagination free.
