Barrin open for (emergency) Sketch Commissions
Posted 9 years agoFrom here - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/20110309/
Hey everyone!
Alright... so my wife
claudyboo was hospitalized just recently and the doctors are doing good work to make sure she's okay. The problem is that after reading my insurance handbook, I'm gonna need $250 for the copay, which I don't have at the moment.... So I was hoping to have a few more commissioners to assist me with this if possible. These wing-it sketches are generally fast to do and they please the eye and the commissioner, and I would have to only do 10 of them (maybe 11 or 12 due to paypal fees).
The wing-it sketches are $25 USD for a one character sketch. I've been posting a lot of them recently so you might know how they could turn out. You have the freedom of telling me what character you want drawn, what clothes (if any), and if the pic will be for general, mature, or adult audiences. From there on I have free range on the pic. If you are interested at all, please note me here on FA. My commission list will be posted on my trello if you want to keep track of my workload and current list: https://trello.com/b/kSdWdwxg
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/20110309/
Couple of examples I got:

The song used in the videolink was a good choice too but the visual style sold it for me. Convinced me to approach
barrin84 for a commission with the two escorts of the day, Barroness and Zeo.
What was your first favourite, if it still exists?

Posted 12 years agoMy 360 and me (a positive MS experience).
Posted 13 years agoSo just after the release of Halo 3 I decided to finally get a 360 for my next-gen system. I went into my local GAME store and saw this wonderful black beauty on a display box. A 120Gb Xbox 360 Elite.
I took it home and began my next-gen experience. Then I began again when I realised I'd forgotten to migrate my gamertag over. Not so bad since I'd only done a couple of missions in the Halo 3 campaign. Got the pink puffler achievement twice
So my list of games slowly expanded:
Halo 3
Halo: ODST
Halo: Reach
The Orange Box*
Saints Row 2*
Mass Effect
Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect 3
Lego Star Wars Complete Saga (worth it for being able to kill Jar Jar with no consequences and there's even an achievement for it).
GTA4
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Gears of War
* - both of these were determined by the power of Yahtzee's praise when I'd previously had no interest of Portal and Saints Row 2 advertisements made it seem like another GTA4.
But then the inevitable happened: RRoD, the crimson ring of despair! However, this only just happened after.... 5 years and 4 months constant usage. So I started what I thought would be the long, tedious process of the service center. Only I didn't.
It began with a login to the Xbox online service center. The big hitch? I forgot that my password was case-sensitive. Once done; problem, cost and payment taken, I got the confirmation email and waited.
The next day the UPS guy showed up and asked if it was ready which it wasn't because I'd only just made the service call the night before. So I was left with the cover sticker which I put on the box of my post-packed 360 and made the call for a pickup. I waited in and they came the very next day and picked up my little black box. I checked the online tracker at ups.com (no login needed for it) every day and waited until it finally arrived at the service center.
Microsoft sent out another confirmation email, the first was that my order had been processed, that my 360 was in service and I'd be updated when it was fixed. This was the longest point of no updates since it was being serviced and the next update would be the completion.
Completion came and with it; another email and another UPS code since they'd already packaged it to be sent back. So early that ups.com hadn't even got the number on the online tracker page yet. So then came another few days of checking ups.com and watching my 360's journey back home. Today it finally arrived back in. Unboxing it was a little like the first time only I had all the cables still out from when I'd unplugged them.
Now came the arduous task of re-claiming my content. I had to reset my network connection, login my gamertag with the password (thankfully I remembered the case sensitivity this time despite it throwing back at me once) and then reset the system settings since I had it on 1080i display (480 default is like going back to VHS after DVD).
What I thought would be the worst part was the re-claiming. They do warn you that you may have to do this, both before and in a cover letter after, and it seems like an arduous task given the full downloads for some of these is in MBs and you have a lot. ME3 for example has 2 1.5+Gb downloads, Leviathan 1.65 and the EC at the cap of 1.99Gb. However the system seems to recognise the Content License Transfer protocol and only checks the content skipping a full redownload. Took a grand total of twenty minutes for ME3's content which inlcudes that update at the start and all the DLC I had including the two big ones mentioned above.
I had an update disc which wasn't fully up-to-date itself but one thing that also came with it was a month of Live membership to make up for not having it. I wasn't too bothered since it had only taken about 8 working days from start to finish and most of the hiccups were on my end.
The reason I want to put this out here is because it is a positive story about Microsoft. My 360 lived 5 years without any major problems, there was no kerfufle about delays to the service, the choice of courier was spot-on and the speak has been nothing but plain and complimentary and to get some free Live time after not expecting it was icing.
So take note: a positive MS experience.

Posted 13 years agoNo really.
After 8 years NCSoft has pulled the plug on the first superhero MMO.
I have no words for it...
My last journal about them was less than glowing, all over a name, but I still paid and played. I went to work today after resuming my solo staff character and came back to 'the end'.
At a time when I was feeling down I escaped to the City. It was Issue 7 although I started paying for it much earlier but never quite got into it. I had played since the European beta which was Issue 3 starting off my character, Tyger, with some crudely made costume of tiger print, tiger print with basic colours. It was the first time I could make a tiger man the way I wanted.
He was the basis of Tyger now who was based off Psi, originally a Furcadian, who was himself based around Tygra from the Thundercats of old. For years I have been that Tyger and now...
I just can't express the words for it.
