FireFall Beta Invite
Posted 13 years agohttp://firefallthegame.com/
I have a spare beta invite code, and I'm giving it away on Friday to.... someone.
Just comment on this journal if you want it; I'll pick a name at random at the end of the week. :)
PS: Don't forget Paws has moved. See the previous journal entry, but this little contest will be pulling from replies to this journal. :D

Tomorrow is the Fifth Anniversary...
Posted 13 years ago... of the inexplicable disappearance of the Salt and Vinegar Ruffles potato chips.
This was the best S&V brand ever, ever made, and in March 1 of 2007 it disappeared off the shelves with no explaination from the company. If you google it you'll see there's been all sorts of groups and petitions to bring it back.
What do you miss the most, of the Awesome-Snack-That-Got-Shanghaid-By-Ninjas Variety?

Posted 14 years agoSo yeah. as of Friday I was prepared to relax at home for the weekend, do my remote newslettery stuff for work on Monday and Tuesday, publish Wednesday... and then relax for the rest of the week.
On Thursday night our neighbours had this big-ass party. They've hardly ever made a SOUND in the past (and I didn't really know anyone lived there) but my roomie noted that things were loud enough there that everything here was shaking apart. Long story short, the party was broken up and dispersed, but on Friday we learn that soooomeone that was a guest at the party delivered with them (hopefully unintentional) an assload of bedbugs. So now on Tuesday, as a preventative measure due to them being right next door to us, *we're* also getting our apartment sprayed for bugs.
Now according to the info we've been given, the list of shit I have to do reads like a hazmat list. Moving everything 1 foot away from all the walls. Removing all the panels for light switches, power outlets, everything laundry-able has to be run through a hot dry cycle (to kill potential bugs), everything from any drawers, dressers, etc, has to be packed into airtight containers or wrapped in plastic and left out in the open. Computers, etc have to be unplugged. Oh, and because we have a cat? Vacation of the premises for a full 24 hours. Which means..... eww, a hotel room.
Lucky I have a cruddy laptop to pass the time with.
But I also had a clinic appointment today. And now I'm scheduled for a physical on Thursday around noon... and I have to get lab work done before then (IE Monday) though the local place has all their appointments full until Tuesday noon, so I'll be walking in there around 7-8am and hoping they'll be able to fit me in somewhere there between then and noon. Bleh.
So yeah. Lots of moving shit today and tomorrow. Monday morning will be a wash while I'm sitting waiting for an EKG, blood tests, etc. Tuesday will be spent with an exciteable cat trying to find a hotel that accepts pets, lol.
I sooo can't wait for next week to end.... and it hasn't even started yet.

Posted 14 years agoRound two in my bid for commission arts! I've already inquired for a second piccie of Paws, waiting on a reply. The artist,
saladbird has a very interesting style and comes as a recommendation from friends! There's not a huge lot on her gallery yet but according to her journal she's still relatively new. So I've commissioned to assist with financial stuff (and to get another piccie!). ^^
More will follow when life is worth bragging about! Or something like that.
