Patreon+Some lil updates
Posted 4 years agoI made some small clarity tweaks to my TOS as well as adding some new art to my webpage. Just thought I would let everyone know!
Web updates:
Added more art to the gallery
Made changes to the "Process" section. Its less wordy and more accurate now!
TOS:
Wording tweaks for clarity
All art will go on my Patreon
Put +18 rule closer to the top
Also for those who don't know, I do have a Patreon! All my art gets posted there in HD resolutions before it ever hits FA. As well as wips for everything I'm working on and some extra art from time to time :3
Don't feel obligated to join, but it does really help <3

Trying to find someone on telegram? (changed username??)
Posted 4 years agoI have someone on my list to message back about commission work but I can't seem to find them. The name I had listed was "Bunny Unit" and I had a note saying they where on telegram. If this is you please shoot me a message and let me know! I think you may have changed your username and I don't know how to find you ^///^)
Check out my new commisson page :3 Plot twist its a websi...
Posted 4 years agoHey-o! I wanted to let you know I made a website. I've shown it off to a few people already but I'm finally ready for the public release :3
Click here or go to purrrevil.com to see it!
Its more convenient for me than a regular png commission page as everything can be easily organized and updated as needed. There have been some small tos wording and formatting tweaks as well as a new faq page. AND there are some buttons on the main page that make contacting me a hell of a lot easier :3 (you just gotta click a button ^u^)
Lemme know what you think! Also if anyone is interested in commission work I am in fact back open. However the queue is quite loaded at the moment so if you wanna snag a slot for the upcoming few weeks I'd recommend you act fast ^///^ Once my waiting list hits 10 people I'll be closing it again till I work through everyone. (2-4 weeks depending on everyone details+complexity)

Quick update, running late
Posted 4 years agoHeyo, I just wanted to let people know I've been running late on my current workload. I got a few days behind between the holiday, personal issues and just overall being slow. I'd much rather take a few extra days than rush everything and have it look sloppy. I have not forgotten about anyone. Feel free to pm me if you have questions.
Because of all the issues and my wrist problems I may keep commissions closed for a while. I would like to get some YCH projects done asap after catching if possible. I can get them done quicker and it will help me catch up on the lost funds (I hope ^////^) My bank is looking kinda sad ngl. And I want this job to get a little more sustainable so I'm not so stressed about money all the time. Hope that isn't tmi >////<)

Commissions delay!!! (small home emergency )
Posted 4 years agoHey-o! Just wanted to post a quick notice. Me and Sly's basement is currently flooding so I haven't been able to get back to anyone about commission work today! There might be a small delay on progress since this has taken up a good chunk of my work day >\\\<)
About a half day delay?
It should be alright btw, we already have a plummer out and I don't believe there any serious damage. Just gonna be a lil expensive :/

Quick update!
Posted 4 years agoGood morning!
I just wanted to let you all know I'm working on coming back from hiatus and should have stuff ready to post by next Monday ^-^)
I may do some personal clean sketches for this week if I have the time, but I really don't want to push my wrist just yet. My plan is to finish what I owe then take some anatomy classes once my wrist is in working order :3 Commissions should open back up after that. If you already messaged me about a commission, that's still being worked on. I'm planning on messaging everyone updates individually later today.
I'll only be working half days and if the pain comes back I'll have to stop and reevaluate the situation. I'm hoping since I don't have a lot of work rn so I should still be able to get them all done in a timely manner. I'll be working with my old art glove over my brace (so I don't scratch my tablet) And once the pain/ache is 100% gone I have a new art glove that has a little wrist support that I'll be using, probably forever? Its a nice glove but it has a little compression and less wrist support than my brace so I don't want to wear it just yet. (I believe the brand is Dokiwear for those interested)
Let me know if you have any questions! Also if you have any anatomy lesson suggestions? Right now I'm thinking either Proko or Marc Brunet's classes. However they're both somewhat expensive (I have to double check, I haven't looked at them in a while)so I may start with Proko's free stuff and see if I can buy some nice inexpensive figure drawing photos to learn with. I also have some books I need to get through and a furry specific one I pre-odered back in Spring that should be here around my birthday. Any studies I do will be posted on Patron of course, (along with all artwork, a week early) for those interested :3

Short Hiatus
Posted 4 years agoHello I just wanted to let everyone know I might not be posting for a little while. I messed up my wrist last Thursday and it hasn't gotten better. I'm going to schedule a doctors appointment on Monday and go from there but until I get a professional opinion I don't plan on drawing or posting. I'll keep you all updated if anything changes.
( Sorry if this update is short or lacking. It hurts to type :p )

Pls send my friend some love. This is all I ask~
Posted 4 years agoI have this friend from 3rd grade called Liquordogg and they're the absolute best. They're literally the reason I'm a furry, but they're not on FA! They've been trying to sell Commissions on Instagram and y'all should give em some love(also span them into joining FA, come on I want them to be successful y'all, and Instagram sucks ;u; For new furry commissioners at least...)
Here's their account, if you have insta check em out, and also tell them to get on FA already!

Updates {+ Upcoming 1K RAFFLE & Patreon!}
Posted 4 years agoHello Everyone!
I cant believe we hit 1K watchers! I want to thank each and every one of you <3 I plan on doing another raffle soon for the milestone (similar to the last one). However this time I want to make it a pin-up ych since people seem to really enjoy those :3 I'm also posting a new commission sheet soon. I have it made already but since my commissions are closed at the moment it doesn't seem appropriate to post it quite yet.
I want to start doing more ych projects as well if I can squeeze them in between commission work. If anyone wants to see any particular themes in the ych work let me know and I can make it happen! (pin-ups, nsfw, harnesses etc~) Right now I have about 3 in the works. At least one of them will be unlimited slots.
Lastly I wanted to mention I started a Patreon! It's still somewhat new but I would really appreciate it if you checked it out <3 I plan on giving early access to all my finished artwork there. As well as some other goodies :3 Here's the link: https://www.patreon.com/PurrrEvil

Small TOS update
Posted 4 years agoAdding a small addition to my TOS:
"All reference sheets and reference images need to be presented BEFORE the first sketch. If a reference image you send has different characteristics than what you want in the commission that must be clearly stated alongside the reference. "

Some changes perhaps?
Posted 4 years agoHello!
Starting Monday Commissions will be my only form of income. I may have to have a price increase to make sure I'm making enough to pay my bills but also expect more art! If anyone has ANY tips in regards to taxes or self-employment, please let me know! I've been trying to look up information on my own but to be honest it's all a bit confusing ^///^)
Thank you all!
-Alyx
EDIT: Also would people be interested in any YCH content?

Minor commission update!
Posted 4 years agoI'm going back to my old way of taking commissions since the google forums didn't really work out as I wanted. Feel free to send me a message on your preferred platform if you would like to commission me at any time. I do three commissions a week, and the waiting list is always open if you would like to reserve a spot in the future! Make sure to point out you would like a commission in your message since I tend to avoid small chat messages during work hours. Thank you!

Travel plans changed
Posted 4 years agoI was going to be traveling this week but it got canceled due to plan changes. I found out late yesterday that Sly took the next week off of work so that we can still go somewhere this week instead. Unfortunately, that gets in the way of my commission schedule and I may be slow or unresponsive over the next week. I'll still be working this weekend and I'll keep everyone updated :3
I'll be open to commissions again next week when I get back but until then I won't be taking any new work. If I already messaged you or told you I'll be working on your project, I'm not canceling on you(unless you want to cancel, that's understandable) I'll just be working slower than normal is all.
Thank you for reading! I hope everyone has a nice weekend ^u^)

New commission page! And changes to TOS
Posted 4 years agoI finally finished my new commission page! Feel free to look it over here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/41594516/
There is only one change to the prices. A $5 increase to backgrounds. This is because I feel I've gotten better enough at them to ask for a little more, especially because I put a lot of time into them. Everything else is the same.
I also have new options listed. Chibis, Icons, and stickers. Reference sheets are currently closed. They may be open in the future but I have not decided yet.
I took out sketches since my sketches tend to be messy and no one ever bought them ^-^;)
There are also a few add ons to the TOS. Since I tend to draw multiple pose sketches for commissioners I now reserve the right to use the discarded ones on other projects. This way I'm not tossing out my work and tbh it's motivation to put maximum effort into each sketch :3 Most other changes say the same things as before but better detailed out. Or they are things that I thought were implied but are now stated outright for clarity. ^u^)
Oh and the most important change is that I now have a commission forum! I wanted an easy way to keep all my info organized. (I used to just dig through old DMS when looking for info about a commission) THis should make it easier! Everything else is the same. And always feel free to DM me questions! Or if you prefer to just chat I can ask you the questions personally and fill the forum myself. Whatever is most comfortable for you <3
If you have any questions, thoughts or critiques let me know in the comments. I'm trying something new here and your opinions on the changes are always appreciated! (even if they're negative haha)

Side account?
Posted 4 years agoHey-o! I had a quick question I wanted to ask you all ^u^)
You may or may not know that I'm a big fan of adoptables and character design. I've been debating for some time the idea of making a side account for selling adoptable characters and designs I make. Would anyone maybe be interested in that? I prefer not to post that kind of content here since I would hate to spam this account with anything other than detailed/finished art I make from scratch(aka commissions and personal work). But I would love to do more free form design work and maybe sell premades for around $10-20 depending on the complexity. (I would mostly stick to Desireeu bases at first since they're my favorite)
I've also debated making my own bases with assets to use since that sounds like a lot of fun! I love options in bases and it would be really cool(i think) to make a base that had a TON of extra assets that you can pick and choose from. Like an add-on pack for hair, one for tails, one for clothes etc. The goal would be for each add-on to include a large amount of mix and match content. It would also make it more available to more people, so instead of charging a ton for a base with assets, I could charge a tiny amount for the base, and a little for each asset pack and so you wouldn't have to pay the full price and you can buy just the packs that include things you're interested in ^u^) This is all just an idea right now. And I would really like to hear any thoughts, opinions, or ideas you might have!

Mini Updates
Posted 4 years agoHello!
I hope you all are well! I wanted to drop some small plans and changes really quickly to keep everyone in the loop. Here are the new changes:
1) I will no longer be working on more than three commissions at one time. I used to work on 5 but I feel that slows down progress more than it helps. The queue system is still all the same. I just won't have more than 3 commissions in progress at one time. This way I can give each commissioner plenty of time and I don't feel like I'm hopping around quite so much. I hate when I can't stick to the deadlines I set myself and this should help with that as well! ^u^)
2) The new commission sheet is almost done. I was planning on having it up already but I decided to wait because I want to add one of the commissions I am currently working on as an example piece. All the prices will be the same, however, some new options will be listed. This currently includes stickers, icons, and more variations to the current listings. Also it will have better examples of my work too instead of just one image. Lastly, it will have a quick rundown of guidelines, most of which will stay the same but be better defined.
3) I may start uploading youtube videos again? I used to have a lot of fun making them and I would like to start up again. They won't be anything too impressive... for now at least. Just some speedpaints for SFW art I make. :3
I think that's all ^u^) Have a lovely rest of your day and thank you for reading!
-Alyx
PS: Always feel free to let me know how you feel! Critiques and new ideas are always welcome <3 In both comments and notes!

Some smaller updates ^u^)
Posted 4 years agoHello!
I just wanted to post a Lil update to keep everyone in the loop. ^u^) First of all, I want to apologize for being slower than normal. I've been taking extra time to take lessons, follow tutorials and redo massive sections of commissions that I'm just not happy with. I like to think that my artwork improves from the extra effort but the side effect is that it eats up more time than just pumping out artwork like normal... Usually, I only take about a week to finish commissions and I reply to notes daily but I've fallen a bit behind. To those I haven't responded to yet, I plan on getting back to you shortly!
After I catch up I'm debating closing commissions for a week while I reorganize some things. I would like to make a more detailed and comprehensive version of my commission page(same prices don't worry). As well as take some time to do some experimental personal art and take some more in-depth lessons to make sure the quality of my work stays consistent and efficient from now on.
Lemme know what you think. I haven't been doing commissions for very long and would love to know if anyone has tips or critique they wanna send my way. It's greatly appreciated! Feel free to leave a comment or even send me a note with your thoughts on the subject if you can spare the time. ^u^)
Oh, one last note I forgot to mention. My work hours may be changing? My current work schedule has been 10 pm to about 8 am but I may swap it so that I'm working in the daylight hours. Hence why I'm awake right now haha. This is partially due to some sleep issues I've been having. (and I miss the sunlight ;u; )
Thank you for taking the time to read this,

Updates! {+ Upcoming RAFFLE}
Posted 4 years agoHello Everyone!
I just wanted to post a quick "what's going on?" update. I mentioned in the last one that I would have a raffle planned out for this week and it's finally ready! I just have to set up the post ^u^) I decided on it being a three-part sticker pack, plus a custom extra sticker added to the prize for every 100 participants! I'll be posting it sometime before next Monday as long as I can keep my schedule in line. ^-^)
As for art, I have a few commissions I'm working on with very big pretty backgrounds so they may take more time. I really wanna step up my game for these and I'm very excited for the outcome.
Thanks for reading, and if you ever have any questions or ideas my comments and notes are always open. Thank you!
-Alyx
EDIT: One last thing! How would you all feel about me opening back up small freebies for watchers? I may add it as part of the raffle actually. (for those who want to participate) I used to do free pinup art when I first started and I would love to do a few more every once in a while. They make good stress-free practice :3 And who doesn't love some free stuff? They won't be like commissions tho! And I'll have more freedom than with a commission~ I'll detail it out more in the raffle post :3

Thank you all! {Update journal}
Posted 4 years agoHello everyone!
I wanted to send out a quick message to everyone so that you're all in the loop about what I've been up to and what I'm planning for in the future.
I was planning on doing another raffle for 500 watchers... but we've zoomed right past the milestone to almost 600. To be honest I'm shocked and amazed! I want to thank you all for the support. It really helps me to keep pushing through the art blocks and progress slumps when I know so many people are appreciative of what I do. I cannot thank you enough.
I greatly apologize for being so slow to get around to the raffle. I've done a few ych sketches but none of them felt right. I have a few ideas but nothing is set in stone quite yet. I'm planning on taking the next week to dwell on it and hopefully have something out up by the end of next week once I'm caught up with commission work.
Speaking of commission work, I wanted to highlight a few things. I'm changing my T.O.S. very slightly. It shouldn't affect anyone who's already commissioning me, and it's mostly for clarity and readability. The biggest change is that you must be +18 to commission me. Not just NSFW. This is largely due to the fact most of my work is NSFW and I only take PayPal which you must be +18 to use. If anyone has suggestions or concerns feel free to let me know. As of posting this, I haven't updated anything quite yet but it should be done in the next 24 hours.
Lastly, I want to talk about work hours. I want to have set-in-stone work hours from now on and I want to make them public for full transparency. I have been working these hours for a few weeks now so I know I can stick to it. :3 The hours are as follows:
10:00 PM to 8 AM Monday through Friday
My partner works night shifts so I wake up with him around 9:30 pm ~ And I tend to be at my computer by 10 pm-10:30 pm. I would like to not have pressure to work over the weekend since I have IRL chores and would like to spend that time with my partner. I hope that is understandable. Always feel free to message me outside of my work hours. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I may still choose to work overtime as well depending on where I am in commissions and how burnt out I may feel by the weekend.
As it stands I don't plan on having more than 5 commissions in progress at a given time. Feel free to pm me anyways if you see that the queue is full. I will gladly hold a spot in line for you. And my Trello will be edited to reflect that so you can see where in line you are. This is a new process I'm adding to keep from being overwhelmed and to make sure I get everything done promptly but without rushing.
I hope you're all having a wonderful day.
-Alyx
P.S. If you have raffle ideas, feel free to post them down in the comments. As I said, I already had a few ideas but more ideas are always welcome! It is a gift to you guys after all. So it should be something you all will enjoy. <3 Any other suggestions or critiques are welcome too! I'm doing my best to keep my work process efficient and fair but I'm only one person ^-^, and any help is greatly appreciated.

Trying to solidify a "style"
Posted 5 years agoThis is the same as my most recent post. I thought a journal version would be nice to make as well so it would be easier to find in the future.
Down below I'm going to go into detail about some of my thoughts over the past little while regarding my art, styles of drawing and such. Its not super important or anything but I thought it would at the very least be helpful to put it all into written words to help me organize my thoughts. If you would like to, feel free to read through it and put your thoughts in the comments. Even if you decide not to read it I would really appreciate your input. Any critiques are helpful. Let me know what you enjoy or don't enjoy with my work. What should I continue doing, and what should I do less of? Thank you!
(There's also a TLDR at the bottom)
----
Through the past month and a half I have been experimenting a ton with my work. I haven't been able to decide what kind of style I want to commit to. I kept looking at other artists and would think "I want to do something like that". That's not necessarily a bad thing but when I'm so focused on the style I'm using, I can't focus on the fundamentals. It also ends up taking at least twice as long to finish something and that can be super frustrating for everyone(less art posted, wild variety in quality, slower on projects/commissions etc.).
I've been doing so many new things that even when I find something that works, that I want to keep doing, I often forget about it. The majority of it can be broken down into 2 major categories: Shading and Line work.
Shading:
I used to always just use a shade of blue or purple on a multiply layer to do all of my shading but I just wasn't satisfied with it. Recently for a few of my works I've tried doing the whole thing in grey scale first then overlaying the color back on. It worked really well sometimes but most of the time it ended up being super time consuming and frustrating. Even though I kept telling myself I would stop the grey scale method I kept trying to do it again and again? It seems like it would work well in theory but it just doesn't work well for me and I lose a lot of control over my colors. I will say however that drawing in grey scale is super helpful for learning how to shade better. I feel like I can understand textures and lighting better when I don't have to worry about color choices so I guess in the end I don't feel like I've been wasting my time at all with it. I will eventually do more gray scale work but I wont try and color it afterwards. It will just be posted as grey scale.
What I think I'm going to commit to is just picking all my colors by hand. Well I might use blending layers to "pick" the colors but I'll be shading it all by hand. After all the research and practice I've done this month it shouldn't be as huge of a learning curve as I thought and surprisingly, It's not as time consuming as I thought either. The only issues are going to be when doing characters with complicated patterns or rainbow gradients. I might have to resort to blending layers so those parts of the drawing look unified but only for those sections.
Lineart:
I don't have as much to say about this. Its mostly just one realization that I've had. The size of my brush is really important. I personally, can't use a tiny lineart brush. It takes hours to lineart and makes later stages of the drawing so much harder. I end up with so much empty space that I have no idea what to do with. Also any dynamic brush work really isn't noticeable . For the doodles above I doubled the normal size I use and I feel it works just so much better. I also only used one brush. I used to switch between a ton of brushes but honestly its so much easier to just focus on learning one and maybe use fancier ones for special effects at the end.
Thanks for listening to my rambles! These are all just my personal opinions and thoughts of course. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments if you're willing to share. What style works for you? What kind of brushes do you like to use? What pet peeves do you have in regards to certain art styles or tutorials you see online?
TLDR;
*I'm going to shade manually and not heavily depend on blending layers or grey scale.
*I'll be using a chunkier lineart brush so you can actually see the variation of line width.
*Also there will be less big empty spaces with no details.
