If you haven't noticed, I've been absent from many a fur meet lately. Wanted to let everyone know that I've been really sick all through later 2019 into 2020. Not only was I having repeated complications from unexpected internal bleeding, but my grandfather, a handful of friends, and my fav cat Puffy died all in sequence (all from different reasons). Due to mostly the health probs I had to take an unexpected and impromptu hiatus for roughly 8 months. Back into things currently, and slowly getting back to clearing the queue. My mother had to go into surgery and I had to take care of her, my aunt died, and my sister was rushed to the ER for an epipen because of a severe allergic reaction. I've also seen a doctor because Trump decided that there are too many Medicaid freeloaders who are abusing the therapy system and now I need to get screened to see if I 'deserve' therapy twice a year. Btw, I sorta do. See above sentences. So far it's been a real shoddy, real busy 2019.

Update: My mother recovered, so did my sister. Then I had to deal with the polar vortex nonsense and 3ft of snow. Recovering from that. However! I've been arting again! :D


But hey, enough about that and more about these images I've been doing. Because I've been working completely on commissions the last two weeks. I'm currently focusing on stuff that's been partially done to finish all that before I focus on stuff I haven't started yet. That means I'm working on Nargacuga, Impala, KnightOwl, the Skyrim pic, Gradient, Piper, the Nora RWBY pic, the Mimic, and the dog painting in the bg.

I dropped off the face of the world for a month or two there with intermittent art splotches in between. What happened? Where did I go? God, this is very unlike you.

Honestly, I didn't know what happened initially. I didn't know if I was depressed, or fell into a funk, or what. But I did know I was being way too hard on myself, spending all my free time thinking about what I needed to do, getting nothing done, and excessively hating myself. I tried all sorts of remedies. Exercise, eating better, focus, different teas and herbs, crying it out with a therapist, routines, taking a break or five. Discovered that part of the problem was I was focusing so hard on commissions for both individuals and work 24/7 that I would only apply my talents to them and nothing for myself anymore - not anything for myself. Not going out to see friends, playing games, watching shows I liked. Was literally just me and the art, and the art that needed to get done wasn't getting done. I wasn't doing art to funnel my emotions, and those emotions ended up turning in on me and wreaking havoc over my self-esteem and will to live. I didn't only hate myself, I also felt excessive amounts of dread and was basically rendered into this walking anxiety attack. And the only way I kept sane later one (during my journey to fix the problem) was by squeezing in those random inked pics in between stuff, which felt a lot like doing art in a fog.

So... That was stupid of me. Spend the last three weeks unwinding myself forcefully. Spent a whole weekend sitting in one place, reading mangas, and doing art between chapters. Any art. Art my muse wanted to be free to do. And I let it. Expect batches of that sketch fun. I also drew protosketches for multiple commissions as well. I played piano, I played guitar. I watched many movies, and played steam.

Dec 21-25 I set up for doing commissions nonstop. Then my bro came over early for the holiday season and brought with him a wailing, sick, hacking, screaming 1 year old. From Dec 21-30 I got virtually no sleep. My sister is also over, but she's way more understanding that I have work to do.

We can call this time a mental health break.


To be clear, I'm not completely over this dread/anxiety bullshit, however it's now more controlled than it was and I can get back to swashing through the commissions fast-like. This also isn't a physical health issue, like that prob I had last year with the blood clot or getting hit by the car. This is a newer issue to me. Sometimes a commission can slip between the cracks, don't get me wrong. I'm not 100% perfect all the time. But my entire queue not being done is different. And uncool. That makes me a terrible person, not having all of these done by now. Time to fix this prob and ascend back to cloud-status.

Short announcement for those who find me at MCFC:

Due to the events of last year's MCFC, I don't remember what anyone looks like unless you happen to be that dude with the hat, that chick in the shirt, that guy I got into a dance battle with, a beaver, a panda, you're secretly made of balloons, or you fixed my car. There's a chance even then I might remember you, but I'll need my memory jogged (like saying you're that guy I gave the white castle to). There is no way I'll be able to tell who goes into who's suit. Sometimes you people switch suits on me.

If I am oblivious to who you are when you're in a suit, you will get nowhere trying to tell me who you are while in that suit. I have no idea what you're saying.

So please don't take offense if I don't remember what you look like. I'll remember what you do, or what you say, or your life story, or your name.

This year I am cross referencing commissioneers with their phone #'s. Chance are I've already texted you. This is so I do not spend hours in dread wondering if I accidentally gave a free print to someone. If you find me and demand your sketch, please tell me what you got and what your phone # is.

I was planning to go to Midwest Fur Fest as my last big convention of the year, but the way things are looking now I wont be able to. Not only am I knee deep in commissions again, and trying to take on work for three different companies at the same time, I'm also very ill. During Youmacon I developed this red welt on my leg from being too awesome, and ended up in the hospital last week due to it. Turns out it's a bloodclot roughly 1.5 inches in diameter. Basically a few veins midway up my calf committed suicide. Since then I've been on stroke watch, taking meds (less starting tomorrow!), wearing a tight compression sock like my life depends on it, and sick on and off. Leg hurts on and off, too. Going into surgery to remove the clot and close any extra veins that caused it on the 21st, then I have to go back the Day Before MFF for a second round.

On top of that, the excessive pills I've taken have done a number on my gut on top of stress from the commissions I've been doing. And I'm supposed to keep my stress down. I can't imagine how 24 some new commissions from MFF and a full week away from the companies I owe is going to alleviate matters.

The Game Company #1 is taking up all my time the last week, and will likely do so with little wiggle room until I'm done with it.

Commissions online are closed until I'm up to par on my Queue.

Depression's been sticking around. Went to a therapist over it because of how bad it was getting and was told the feeling of worthlessness and downhill moods I've been having are not clinical (the kind where the brain requires chemical-shifting mood meds) but a depression with a direct cause and a fix I can do, myself.

The cause is I've taken on way too many art responsibilities at once (and the car accident I was in last summer plus the surgeries backing all my projects up) coupled with trying to do everything at once became a huge burden on my shoulders and drove me tail-spinning into the pit of despair. In short: I got overwhelmed from owing too many people for too long and had an emotional shutdown.

The fix is getting the art done, focusing on one at a time and not overworking myself. I also need to go out of my way to keep my stress levels down and keep weeding out distractions (which is very hard because I'm in the middle of fall convention season). I should also exercise more, and not be so hard on myself. I'm not instantly better since finishing up Piano Fox and Lila, and still prone to bad anxiety attacks.

Commissions are still going to be closed until I do everything.

Life's worthless, you know?


Consolidated my life to remove distractions and stressors down to a bare minimum of 'what can I do to get myself out of bed that would make me beat up on myself less'. I've been reading mangas, I've been playing games, I've been watching anime, I've been doing art.

I gave up on inktober, I stopped talking to many people (especially people who come to confess to me or get suicidal). Dropped out on a convention or three. Stopped going to bars and open mics. Cut down on websites I go to. I've been focusing on art for myself or commissions. I'm focusing on commissions I have partially done and easy commissions to prune down my list so I can focus on the heavy stuff without feeling overwhelmed.

My commissions are closed to future prospects until I'm done with everything (or die trying).

I still owe people commissions, and outside of conventions commissions are still closed until I do at least all sketches I owe people. They're still getting done.

What have I been doing besides not finishing all of my commissions in a timely manner?

Conventions: I've been to many conventions. Game, furry, comic, anime, lots of cons. I wont be at Gencon this year, but I will be at GrandCon, RandomFandom, YoumaCon, maybe the MI RenFest, to name a few.

Work: I've been pulling all nighters on a board/card game for a company, and it's eating all of my free time. I'm so completely almost done with it, in the final stretch if the stars align and Chuck Norris pays a visit.

Car Accident: At the end of June, June 30th to be exact, while biking on the charity for kid's cancer and a week after Origins Game Fair when I had more actual free time, I was slammed into by a car and it sorta ruined a month of my life. Hurt my leg, knee, elbow, and my wrists poofed up, one had a hematoma, bike tire got trashed. What's worse is that the guy wont pay me back for my bike, after stalling me for a month until his guilt dried up. While healing that nonsense, my work and game work got backed up and that backup completely ate me alive.

Surgery: Partially a continuation of life or death surgeries I had at the beginning of this year, and exacerbated by the car crash, my leg's got a new vein problem and I'm going through surgery lately to fix it. Surgery and recover are very painful and it's just another distraction tacked onto my busy life. The next surgery is Aug 17, because they couldn't do everything a week ago.

Update for the last e-ml, and more.

I've ridden the Great Cycle Challenge for June this year and wanted to let everyone know that I successfully raised 525 to help children with cancer. I also successfully biked 100 miles in 6 days! In other news, during the trip on Thursday I had been unfortunately hit by a car. The guy basically tboned me and took out my back tire. I'm okay, no broken bones or sprains. I originally had wrist pains that went away, a soft muscle injury to the ankle, knee, elbow, and left hand, and I grew a tiny hematoma on my left palm. My bike needed a new back tire and rim, which the already insanely busy bike shop fixed while I stood there. So I'm insanely lucky, and was able to quietly pedal out the last 10 miles on day 6 without killing myself. The guy that hit me agreed to pay me back for the bike (and hopefully my pants that were ripped).


Update 1 - So the people behind the great cycle challenge decided to extent it to July 28. `` Bucker, that one. I'm debating if I'll continue gathering miles or make a new goal for myself to bike before that time. Until then everyone is still welcome to donate.

Update 2 - I've finally fully healed and have been on and off back to doing art for everyone.

Update 3 - I've decided to continue the bike challenge til the 28th and need to raise 250 more bucks for cancer kids, as well as bike roughly 50 more miles (200 total).

What's this about cancer in pupsters? For the next five days (until the end of June) I am striving to attain 100 miles of bicycling in order to get people (you guys) to donate to the child cancer research fund. Any donations you make will go directly to the kids cancer deal and I will see none of it. You can donate more than my set goal (currently at 500 dollars).

For anyone that knows me, I have a 'Yes, Sir' attitude when it comes to taking on commissions. I will create art for anyone that wants it and can fork over a little cash.

But lately I've been swamped something fierce by jack tons of them, as well as got back into the groove for the one company I've been arting for. Think a God in the middle of lightning bolts and unable to choose which one to shoot out of the damn clouds here.

Once I get the main commission list under control, or at least sketch everything on it, I'll be in better control of my queue and will reopen commissions again.

I will do these out of order. Dog is on the top of my priority list, and the one game cover will eat up tons of my free time because I'll be doing that no matter what's on the list. But I'll very likely fish out a few sketches faster than the rest.

If you were one of the peeps at MCFC or GLFC that commissioned me and are on this list, you'll know I'm doing you because I'll text you right beforehand telling you so. MCFC will come before GLFC for obvious reasons unless otherwise stated. I've been very busy with the company art lately and it's taking up lots of my free time, so everything is taking longer than originally anticipated.

UPDATE!!!: Due to hilarity and madness happening at MCFC, I officially have something between 14 and 16 more commissions I'll be doing on top of the list below. Possibly more if I get post-con commission spillage. I'll be updating the list and doing those on top of everything else. I would be doing that now, but I have a hangover of the gods and have to consult the list and what I've already done (since there were 20+ total commissions from mcfc with 7 I did already during the con and haven't posted up)

That said, getting the raptors inked and colored is my top priority, alongside a gaming cover I have to stay up long hours to finish. Dog is also up there on my priority list.

This is outside of random shit I do of dragons or spontaneous sketches/inks/pastels - which I do on a whim, to loosen up, to practice, or to warm up to bigger stuff. Or because I want to. Artists love freedom.



Biggest one on the list is the raptors pic, which I'm working to get done stat.

I've been absent lately and wanted to let everyone know that I'm ok. I got really bad off sick the last three months, to the extent of almost dying, and I've been through multiple surgeries since. The biggest of the surgeries was to repair a major broken vein on my leg that, over time, had been responsible for my blood pressure constantly bottoming out, feinting, and gradual blood poisoning/thickening/issues (since the blood wasn't reaching my heart after an extended period). Since collapsing the vein and removing others that went spastic due to it, I'm going to survive and my health has been going up in leaps and bounds. I've also had to go in for other vein surgeries on my leg that involve getting stabbed with a sharp, painful needle 20+ times per leg, and I'm since done with that. My right leg looks like a warzone since the last stabbaton, but I'm otherwise healing up. Left leg is the one that had the real bad vein, and that's looking great now short of a few stitch areas and some bruising.

The other big surgery had to do with removing a tumor from me, unrelated to the first. This was done on the side, and took me a week post surgery to recover from short of this wicked scar I now have that's healing. Tumor's benign. Don't fret, I'm good.

Ever since the big vein surgery, my bp has shot up to around 100/75 sitting, I've stopped feinting, my vision stopped blurring out, and I'm doing way better. I can also walk spiffily now :D

On top of that, my car broke something hard. The good news is that on the later half of the breaking Rena the Jackal and Aura the winged wolfy stopped by and helped me fix it :D Now it works great, cept I"m in the hole with the first half, which involved a new cylinder head. Ouch.

I really am sorry for disappearing on my commissioneers like I did. Will start catching up. I haven't forgotten anyone and I still have the art or have been working on it on and off.
