Not dead
Posted 2 years agoI kinda vanished from here, didn't I?
A lot lot of real life stuff came at me and I had to step away from everything for quite awhile. I have mostly migrated over to soundcloud ( https://soundcloud.com/quell-ironheart ) when I have time to work on new music (which is not nearly as frequently as I would like).
I really appreciate the comments and support that were left in my absence, you folks are all awesome!
I might consider uploading some stuff here in tandem with when I upload to SC but we'll see how things go.
Keep kicking ass, folks!

Furry sellling his house in Athens for under 4000. [sold]
Posted 13 years agoNo joke here. A good friend of mine is needing to relocate ASAP for a career opportunity and needs to get rid of his house in the next couple of weeks. Because of this he's selling it for under $4000. (and is willing to go lower)
If you think you might be interested the info is here:http://athensohio.craigslist.org/re.....309833645.html
Move quickly, it will probably go fast.

Back Home Con 2012
Posted 13 years agoMy GAWD, what a weekend! I swear AC gets crazier every year and this was absolutely no exception. In my next available free time I'll be going through the video I was taking over the weekend and I'll hopefully uploading the highlights for everyone.
I roomed at the Omni with
atreya and her sister who just this year joined the ranks of the fandom,
Dante_Fox,
ozzy-wildwind, and Roman Blackpaw (http://www.sofurry.com/browse/user/music?by=110612)
It was awesome that we could all hang out together as its been awhile.
And for all you crazy folk who were at the dances this year...I love all of you. Yes, I do mean in that way.
This has been and still remains my favorite venue to play as you guys are absolutely amazing.
If its possible, I'll be uploading audio from one or both of my sets as soon as I can. In the meantime, for those who asked, set lists were as follows:
Thu Night (Industrial/Aggrotech)
dB Soundworks - Those Responsible
Rotersand - Exterminate, Annihilate, Destroy
Komor Kommando - Das Oontz
Breath and Decay - Alive Right Now [Roll Call mix]
Aesthetic Perfection - The 11th Hour [Hocico Remix]
Mindless Faith - Independence Day
Be My Enemy - The New Wave [Club Mix]
Unheilig - Lampenfieber
Eisbrecher - Angst?
Cyanotic - Alt Machine (Edit)
16volt - Somebody to Hate [Hate Hegel Mix]
Chemlab - Exiled ["Suck on This" Mix]
Ministry - Just One Fix
Sun Night (Hardstyle)
Donkey Rollers - Silver Bullet [Toneshifterz Remix]
Noisecontrollers - Marlboro Man [The Pitcher Re-Amp]
Technoboy Meets Ruffian - The Undersound (Audiofreq Remix]
Ash9 - Spongebob Hardstyle
Jack of Sound - Eternal Night [Original Mix]
Headhunterz - Dragonborn [Ironheart Edit]
The order might be a bit off on Sunday, that night is a bit hazy from booze and sleep dep.
Anyway, all of you get some rest. You need to be ready for next year.

AC: Last Minuts Change of Plans
Posted 13 years agoSo it would seem that I will be cursing the ballroom with my presence once again this year. Thu night at 10 I will be filling the rather unfortunate void left by the wildly talented Dan Veytia. Instead of him, you get me sharing my collection of rivethead garbage of the worst kind and possibly some hardstyle if the mood strikes me.
Either way, I'm going to be loud and obnoxious for an hour or so. So it might be a good time to check out The Zoo or something.
Apologies,

Room space available for AC
Posted 13 years agoFor all those looking for crash space at AC, I have a last minute opening at the Omni. Contact me for details.
No DJ Ironheart at AC this year
Posted 13 years agoSadly, it looks like I didn't make the cut this year.
Oh well, I had a good five year run and there's always next year.
Good luck to those who will be performing, it looks like quite a talented lineup!
I will still be attending, hope to see everyone there. :)

Great big pile of news:
Posted 13 years agoI haven't done this in awhile, so I think its about time I played catch up with everything that's going on.
Astaroth is still a go, just moving rather slowly due to each member's personal lives. New music will be coming soon, hopefully.
My DJ career kinda got knocked for a loop when I irrecoverably blew a hard drive containing most of my music. Sadly, I did not, at the time, have a backup for various reasons. I'm working on getting as much of it back as I can, but its made me start experimenting in spinning some other genres and its rather likely that you may see me stepping outside of my usual industrial stylings if you come to one of my gigs.
I'm working on a new solo album. It will not stick to a particular genre and it will be a more accessible release than the last (I'm not done with 1nferi0r, but I'm giving it a break for a bit). It will likely be awhile yet before its finished as I have very little free time these days, but I will also be releasing some other tracks in the meantime to tide over all 3 of you who have been clamoring for new tunes. :p
Also I helped out my bro and fellow Astaroth member Roman with some vocal recording/production on one of his new track located here: http://soundcloud.com/roman_hoskins.....ll-in-progress
He's one hell of a talented guy and a pleasure to work with.
I'll be attending Anthrocon this year from Thu until Mon. I'll be staying at the Omni with a bunch of folks so be sure to stop me and say hi or the insult of your preference depending on your personal opinions.
I'm sure I'm forgetting things, but I'll post later if I think of anything.
Back in the saddle again

Sorry for the extended disappearance. We're not out of the woods entirely yet, but things are a quite a bit better.
In the news, I will be returning to DJ at Anthrocon again this year, be sure to come party with us! I'll post the schedule when I have it.
I'm also appearing in a documentary about furries being shot at OU, some of my music may be making its way to the soundtrack as well. It focuses on clearing up a lot of the negative connotations we deal with.
I honestly don't know when new music will be coming, I have waaay too much on my plate lately. But I'm hoping to find some time to get my ass back to work soon.
TURN IT UP!

Big Problems
Posted 15 years agoI know I haven't been here much lately, I've had some massive IRL problems to deal with.
I may disappear for awhile again, because as it stands right now I don't have the money to make my rent payment this month and if I don't come up with about $300 bucks in a week, we're gonna be hosed.
I can't find a damned job anywhere, and this is getting ridiculous. Over the last three months I have systematically burned through every penny I had due to the lack of income.
So, I apologize if you guys don't see or hear much from me for awhile, I don't know what's going to happen in the next few weeks. But you'll hear from me whenever its possible.

Peter Christopherson
Posted 15 years agoSadly, Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson died in his sleep last night. For those unaware, Sleazy was a founding member of Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, and Coil as well as a Music video director and Photographer. The man had his hands in a lot of brilliant projects and on a personal level, changed the way I look at music and even art.
I wouldn't be doing what I do today if it weren't for the work he took part in.
He will be greatly missed.
RIP Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson (1955-2010)

Posted 15 years agoLast week a tornado went right over top of where we live. Thankfully for us it didn't touch down here and the damages were minimal, but sadly for a lot of other people it did touch down a couple of miles away and wreaked a path of havoc through town. We only just got power back and quite a few people lost their homes or are facing some serious repairs.
I'm keeping those less fortunate in my thoughts, and hope the best for all of them.

Athens, OH
Posted 15 years agoAtreya and I have successfully relocated to Athens and are pretty much settled in.
The job I had lined up is evidently not as certain as I had thought, so the great job hunt may be beginning. But, otherwise things are going fairly well.

Athens, OH - teh big move
Posted 15 years agoSo next week I'll be moving to Athens, OH with Atreya so she can go to school up there. I'm likely gonna be without net svc for awhile until we get everything straightened out with bills and such. I know I've been quiet for awhile, but I'll be more so until we get connected.
See you guys when I get back :D

Homophobia
Posted 15 years agoHomophobia means:
* I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.
* I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.
* I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.
* We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.
* I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room.
* I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me.
* I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again.
* I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.
* We are the couple who had the Realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.
* I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me.
* I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman.
* I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.
* I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male.
* I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.
* I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.
* I am the man who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual.
* I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I did not have to always deal with society hating me.
* I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.
* I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.
* I am the person who is afraid of telling his loving Christian parents he loves another male.
Re-post this if you believe homophobia is wrong. Please do your part to end it.
