I would very much love to table at FC 2013, and it would behoove me to practice making badges. The more I think of it...the more I think I'm going to have more fun with the fonts than with the pictures. XD

Last time I asked for people's ideas in the form of free commissions--and therefore ones that might never get finished--I finished one of the two and then decided that maybe free art isn't for me. Or maybe not full scenes of free art, anyway. I got one of them done! I did! Or inked, anyway. I could save myself a lot of grief if I get over this idea that art isn't done until the pencil is erased, the lines are down, the color is on, and the background is at least there in token. XD

What kind of paws do you want to see on the bottoms of your feet? Generic canine feet are easy, and feline feet too, and I think this year I will try a slightly more complicated dragon foot, if I can find a pleasing reference (or happen to be hit with a bolt of inspiration).

I didn't even know him, but it touched me that someone with his artistic talent would watch my page. My heart goes out to the grieving friends and family; I'm so sorry for your loss. For what its worth, he was a stranger, and I still liked him.

In nine weeks exactly, I am going to be crossing the pond to go on a trip to Scotland avec la familia. I dunno what we're gonna be doing up there, 'cause the itinerary is unstable and subject to change. We'll be hitting Edinburgh for a few days, and then spending some time north and west of that. Anyone from the area? I want to take pictures of all the ruins and castles and abbeys and such, and gift myself with the arduous task of scrapbooking my adventure when I come home. I need to know where all the best photo ops are. <3

And THEN, when I come home, I'll get to rest for two weeks and then putter off to Burning Man for the first time ever! I have begun production on some pretty sweet polymer claws recently, and I have a whole mess of 'em ready to be sized and shipped out! Significantly cheaper than any metal claws you'll find, these also remain classy and awesome without making you pay through the nose.

Each claw is hand-sculpted in polymer clay of your color preference and affixed to the hand with aluminum wire, also of your color preference. I can size them for anyone!

Claws are $40 a hand of five, or $50 a set of ten, plus about $7 for shipping.

Bad Dragon released their new Faerie Dragon sculpt while I'm still waiting on them to get around to making my order for something NOT a Faerie Dragon. Wednesday
I had Wednesday off, which was just dandy. I did some ACEO cards and finished a few sculptures, and generally got things packed. I tried baking some bread for the con, but I sort of forgot yeast in one batch, so that was sad. (We ended up throwing most of it away by the end...*sad*)

I don't think I realized how much stuff I had to do until I tried getting to sleep on time and realized I was TOO EXCITED and had FAR TOO MUCH TO DO that night. Work even called in to ask if I wanted to pick up a shift; I could have used the money, but I would have left me with NO time to get shit done. Finally got to sleep, though.

Thursday
We actually stayed fairly true to schedule. Aazhie and I picked up Gin around 8, drove to Taen's, met up with the other boys, and mulled around while Taen finished packing. We were on the road by 9:33! ...in the rain. Of course we were; we live in Humboldt
But anyway, I had Gin in the car with me, so there was music and
chatting most of the way down.

I'm just going to say this right now; I did not have a single comfortable pee after I left Eureka. Toilets were all contoured to fit some magical perfect ass, by which I mean 'NO ONE'S ASS AT ALL'. It was very frustrating to run in and pee on an uncomfortable seat.

We didn't get lost, which I count as a win every time I drive through San Francisco. Gin passed out for a bit once we were on the highway down to San Jose, and then navigated me right to the hotel.

Skipping all the boring moving-in part, except for the bit where I mention how nice Aazhie was for letting me share her table like an FC newb....

We hauled our stuff up to the dealer's room (next to Dook, who is awesome and a blast to hang around), got set up, ya, da yada, and explored a bit before going back to the room and chilling with some food. There may have been wandering involved; I don't actually remember this part of the weekend very well. We ran into someone advertising KGB badges and got my hopes up.

Friday
Woke up super excited! Today was the day I dressed in my Devi shirt, with the purple and rainbows. I believe I spent most of the day in the dealer's room, lurking off to the side of Aazhie's table. All day I made a measely eight dollars; I felt crummy about that until I was informed that Friday is usually commission day. That helped a lot. I think I don't remember much about this day either, except--

I was super stoked when Taen came running back with a teeny-weeny Bad Dragon cock in an Easter egg. SO EXCITED. I was, of course, quick to run over and throw my money at them, but lo--when I opened MY egg, there was just shitty candy inside! I was crushed. (They hadn't written that it was a 'mystery' grab at that point yet, sigh.) No worries; I came home with three lil' cocks, so no harm done. <3 I LEARNED my lesson about those eggs, the sneaky little bitches.... And seriously, Bad Dragon; you guys really oughta make those into little collectables. Seriously. That shit will be bigger than POKEMON, despite the tiny, tiny size. <3

I WILL COLLECT THEM ALL.

More disappointingly, I didn't get my KGB badge.... Perhaps next year. I was gonna draw Seth in it. Someone else can have my booze; I just wanted the badge. XD

Um...I THINK that's all of Friday. Could be more, but I'll fix it as necessary.

Saturday
Saturday was GOAT PANTS DAY, but before I put those on and got all fauny, Taen and I had to go move our cars to avoid being towed. And guess what? We managed to slip out (and back in again) before the guy came back from break. Two days of parking free; whoohoo!

But anyway, back to goaty pants. Shoes kept falling off; eventually I just taped them back together with electrical tape and called it good. That held much better than anything else I had used before.

Again, mostly sat around the dealer's room today. I didn't make it to any panel except the Adult Dragon Panel, so I guess I missed that experience, but I don't feel it was a loss. I made lots of friends in the dealer's room, and got to see a lot of cool people. And some people that made me cringe a bit, sadly. Whatever. I was happy to be proven wrong about a lot of them, though. Books and covers, y'see; hardly indicative of each other.

Saturday was fun. I made a lot more today; it was nice to earn something after how bleak Friday was. I also got some pretty art to take home. After the Dealers' Den shut down, I was gonna go to the Communist Party--I even drew my OWN KGB badge--but I spent the night in the Creators' Lounge painting penises and shmoozing up with some pretty fabulous people. <3 I got to sleep too late. I think I ate Baja Fresh today.... We haven't got that up in Humboldt. Makes me sad.

Sunday
We all kinda slept late on Sunday.... I dressed semi-fancy, dress shirt and vest and pocketwatch, etc. I haven't got much furry stuff that I could have worn, or none that I brought. Sometimes I just like looking like a genderqueer fag. Dressing and trying to pass is just a slightly less furry form of fursuiting, right...?

Again, no panels, but it was great anyway. Sold some stuff, talked with people--can you tell I'm starting to get tired of writing?--collected some business cards. I commissioned an art card watercolor painting of Deviant, and I bought some porn, a pair of ears that match my hair, and another Bad Dragon cock....

I was sad to see the Dealers' Den packed up so quickly; I was going to go over and drop a fistful of cash at the Bad Dragon table and say 'What kinda cocks you got left?' They packed up too fast though.... God damnit, what's a queer gotta do to get some DICK around here? I DID make a trade for a Cthulhu scarf, though; it'll be really fun getting stuff in the mail in a week or two!

(The answer is 'order it online', by the way. I placed said order last night, heh.)

And then Taen and I went for pitas and baked goods for dinner. The pitas were decent, but they left tzatziki off our falafel pita and the eggplant off of our babaganoush. Babaganoush IS eggplant, Pita Pit. WTF? Too tired by far to walk back to fix it, though. We dined on lettuce and hummus.

But oh my GAWD, Bijan is a fabulous little bakery. I had the fruit tart there, and the 'fancy mango'--which is mango mousse on sponge cake wrapped in a curl of white chocolate--and I just about peed myself with glee. That shit is delicious. Got into a long conversation about religion with Niles...that was interesting. Made me tired. Or maybe I was tired because it was 1 AM and I had to drive the next day.

Monday
I ended up driving only until we got to Novato, and Gin took over for the rest. Getting out of San Jose was a little nuts; the streets are nearly as confusing as those in London despite the convenient grid. Got lost in San Francisco; I hate that city some days.

Not much else to add, except that, returning home, I was struck with the desire to make stuff for FC NEXT year. God damnit, Dreamous, you and your everlasting thirst for cock. FINE, I'LL PRACTICE DRAWING PORN. XD

I am so tired. Nearly had no voice. Bought Popsicles, ginger ale, and lemons. Why did I write lemons? I bought oranges. So tired.... Am hoping to knock it out quickly. Seriously, writing this made me fall asleep. I'm gonna see if I can persuade myself to dream about buttsex.

So, I'm making a satyr outfit for Further Confusion. While there are OTHER parties where I'd walk around with nothing more than a scarf on, I think I need a better top to wear to the con. ^^' That being said, I am a fashion FAIL. My idea of AWESOME STYLE consists of a t-shirt and a hoodie all the time. I don't want to look girly--fuck that shit. I DO want to look FANCY though, so here's where I need help. What would look good with big puffy pants? Points if it covers enough for me to wear a good boob-binder under it. Extra points if it lets me show off the tattoo on my back. FIVE BILLION POINTS if it does both. XD

Also, I haven't posted a journal in a while, and I felt like I wasn't doing my part to contribute to the pollution of the blogosphere.

From my submissions, you'd think I haven't been doing anything worth posting all summer. It's not true, though--I've been doing nothing BUT art, the whole time! I'm painting, sculpting, paper macheing, drawing, painting more things, sewing.... It's nigh on tiring. But because of my living situation, I can't get things scanned and photographed and posted for another week at least, until I have a chance to move in.
