1. Go to Google and type, "You know you're from (your city or state [Louisiana]) when...." (hit "I'm feeling lucky")
2. Cut and paste the list.
3. Bold the items that apply to you
Your last name isn't pronounced the way it's spelled.
You judge a po-boy by the number of napkins used.
The four seasons in your year are: crawfish, shrimp, crab, and King Cake.
You know those big roaches can fly, but you're able to sleep at night anyway.
You discover that you can get a sunburn through your car window...
You learn that a seat belt makes a pretty good branding iron...
You consider a Bloody Mary a light breakfast.
You measure distance in minutes.
Your first sentence was "Throw me something mistah" and your first drink was from a go-cup.
Your sunglasses fog up when you step outside.
No matter where else you go in the world, you are always disappointed in the food.
You fall asleep to the soothing sounds of four box fans.
Sorry for the lack of attention
Posted 16 years ago I know that a lot of people make a "Coming Home" post that means their return to their journals, or their art or to the attention of their fans, but this one is a little different.
I'm going to be more of a member myself, since I seem to have just dumped a few of my drawings on here without giving many people the attention that they deserve on their sites since they were nice enough to pay attention to mine.
And I am very thankful if you favorite'd something and gave me a comment. I just get absent minded about them because I see them as words on the Internet that will always be there and forget that people are attached to them.
I don't know if I'm trying to be more prudent on online etiquette than necessary, but I'm just sharing my opinion for now. We should talk more, you know?
I went to Mechacon last weekend, which is a three-day long anime and mecha convention held in Southern Louisiana. I had a really nice time, too.
I spent most of my time playing in a free Street Fighter IV tourney with some of the con-goers. The day before the event I played someone's E. Honda that was wearing (which I found out afterward) a Night Trap costume of the badguys [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MphWBulid9I Warning: this link is excessively campy ].
He and a few of his friends really committed to the role and went about miming scenes from the movie, even though it was over my head at the time, but we made up for it later on and I got to know him outside of his role. This guy went on to get 2nd place, and myself 4th, just playing as Balrog.
There was some VALVe love too, with a few people dressed as the Scout, Engineer, Spy(even complete with the cardboard masks of the other classes) and even someone rep-ing Left 4 Dead as the Hunter.
Sorry to say that the game room was where I spent most of my time, as there were a lot of people that I could have talk about their costumes with, and more events I could have seen.
I did see a 'So, You Want To Become a Voice Actor' panel, though, and a little bit of a cast panel from people in Full Metal Alchemist. But, my head was in the Game Room most of the time, watching my friends compete in BlazBlue and SSBB. :p
This might be going on a bit long, so I'll talk more about it another time.
