Deviant art page up!
Posted 9 years agoThanks to my very best friend
OminoustheUnknown, my deviant art page is up and running. I still have some things to tweak here and there, submissions to add, etc., but for now I'm finally on DA.

In other news, I've got my computer screen fixed. I'm still taking commissions, and I'm getting more comfortable with Clip Studio Paint the more I work with it. I'll be uploading an updated pricing sheet soon with some better quality artwork.

Art delay! Computer repairs!
Posted 9 years agoSorry guys! My commissions will be delayed for a couple days, my computer monitor on my laptop finally kicked the bucket, so I'm in need of a replacement. I'm using an LCD TV I had on hand as a replacement, but the image quality is awful, the colors all off. As such, I'm not confident the color quality of any images I do will be any good, so I'm going to put that on the back burner for now. I mean, yeah, I may try to get some more art done, in particular black and white images, (Looking at you, Furx!), but... we'll just have to see!
The Elephant in the Room
Posted 9 years agoSo I know that my recent trek into the snuff territory has had both some positive and some negative feedback. First and foremost, let me say snuff and gore are not interests of mine.
Basically, I'm poor. I only make income through commission work. It's just enough to make it through the month. Well, it was. Now that I've left New York State and pay rent in Oregon, I've come across more expenses than before, and I'm not quite capable of affording it all as it stands. So that's where the snuff thing comes in. My boyfriend,
stripedcrocodile is also an artist here on FA. We both draw bondage art. It's actually how we first met. However, he also draws snuff art, mostly in the breath play scene. Since I was low on cash, he suggested I start doing snuff commissions as well to gain more followers and more commissions. Seemed like a good idea.
Unfortunately, while I did make a lot of commissions in that vain in a relatively short amount of time, I also received some backlash. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it all. I'm actually, admittedly, a little annoyed that some people couldn't handle a little excess. After all one of the greatest appeals to the furry fandom to me was the general welcoming atmosphere, the acceptance of others and their more personal ideas and, often times, kinks. So to have people unwatch me for some graphic art was... well, I guess part of me expected it, but I still find it unfortunate.
I guess now I plan on just picking up where I left off. I'm going to continue drawing the stuff I like, like bondage and pornography of my favorite characters. I'm going to try and not worry about the people that backed away from me when they saw the snuff art. And if I get asked to draw more of it, then I suppose I will, though within a limit I myself have set. I originally thought it might be fun to see what sort of gruesome and disturbing things my watchers could come up with. Like watching a horror movie. But I found myself having a hard time with some of the images. Some were too much, or even too boring for me to feel any investment in. I don't mean to accuse the commissioners. We all have different wants and ideas, and there's nothing wrong with that. I just might not be the right guy for all of it. So as always, if you want me to draw something on the edge of iffy, then just drop me a note and ask. I won't bite or judge. I know what it's like to say you like something and have the response be "eww," and I promise I won't do that to you.

I will be raising my prices soon
Posted 9 years agoIn a week or so, I'm going to bump my prices higher. I need to be able to feed myself. Also, I'll be offering a new list of commission types. In particular I'm adding line art back into the mix. Also I may consider art slave streaming, among other ideas I've cooked up.
Lastly, I have a comic I want to work on, a project my friend
ominoustheunknown and I have been planning for months now. Issue is without some stability in my income I don't feel safe taking into such a venture. As such, I'm looking for some support, I'm thinking in the form of patreon and paid cameo appearances.
I'm mostly interested in hearing back about what you guys think is fair pricing and what ideas you might have in terms of commissioning and comic writing you'd like to see.

Things I want to draw
Posted 9 years agoSo this journal is less like a journal and more like a personal reference. These are things I've wanted to draw, or have been meaning to draw, but haven't done yet. Well, some I may have already drawn but I want to draw more of.
-Tails and Rouge, a kinky picture involving the pair with Rouge as a dominatrix
-Rarity and Spike, basically the same deal as Tails and Rouge (What can I say? I love cute innocents and domineering seductress pairs)
-More Fizz and Teemo. They're my favorite League champions, and the thought of them together is so pleasant to me
-Stitch. Just because he's cute.
-Serperior wrapping up... someone. I actually really like snake coils. A lot. I've never been commissioned for it, and have only draw snake constriction once. Serperior has the added bonus of having vines that can also wrap its prey further.
-Seviper doing the same as above. Seviper is one of my long time faves, and his appearence being intimidating, dangerous, makes it darkly sexy.
-More adventure pictures. I really enjoy crafting fantasy backgrounds. I'm not particularly good at it, but that's why I want to give it more effort.
-Monsters. All shapes and sizes, monsters always have exciting and unique designs. I really like the more grotesque creatures and aliens, like Xenomorphs and Brundlefly, not because they're gross or anything, but because they capture the imagination. I also like to think of the more hideous monstrosities, and what a reasoning mind would be like in their bodies. Why do 'monsters' have to be the things we fear?
Robots- Because it's cool.
Other things I want to improve as an artist:
-Line art. I suck at it. I see so many artists utilize line art and I feel both admiration and envy. Sometimes I wonder if it's the program they use, the tablet they own, or just the steadiness of their hands. Whatever it is, I lack it. It's why I use a more painted style, with reliance on shading and texture.
-Backgrounds. I actually have a grasp on many of the fundamentals of perspective and positioning. However, filling a page out and making it all look good in the end is hard.
-Leather texture. I've got Latex down pretty well. I've drawn it many different ways and I like each one for different reasons. Leather however eludes me.
-refined sketches. Anoyone that's seen how I work knows I don't put a lot of effort in my base sketch. Often times I leave out key details, or reposition parts far from the original. I fix things as I go. I want to be able to refine my sketches a bit more though, especially for my customers' sake when i'm showing them a work-in-progress of a commissioned image.

First Stream a success
Posted 9 years agoTonight I hosted my very first art stream! I feel like it was quite a success, and I had a lot of fun doing it! As such, I plan on doing this a LOT more often, like, about every night maybe! Tomorrow I plan on doing a sketch stream, donate and I'll draw for you! I'm thinking $5 for a 15 minute sketch or so. Prior to this I wanted to see what my watchers thought about the idea, or if you guys have any suggestions about it.
Commissions still open!
Posted 9 years agoI'm still accepting commissions, my workload is getting rather light. I still have some sales going on, including:

Settling in
Posted 10 years agoI've been in Oregon for almost a week now. I gotta say, it's been rough. While I love being here I can't deny that being across the country has given me some anxiety. I keep dreaming that I need to go back, or haven't made the trip yet. Then I wake up and realize all over again that I'm here, and that's not about to change. I guess I'm feeling overwhelmed.
At any rate, I'm hoping to just get back into my art commissions. I want to continue doing what I was doing, albeit at a faster rate.

final stretch
Posted 10 years agoI'm at a cozy little hotel on the border of Utah and Wyoming. 800 miles to go!
Nebraska!
Posted 10 years agoI made it to Nebraska last night, a town called York. Little over 1500 miles to go, two days travel. Hopefully traffic is good! Interestingly, because of time zones I got an extra hour travel time yesterday. I should be able to get another today as I pass through Nebraska, then one more in Oregon.
Update on my travel
Posted 10 years agoI left New York yesterday, and at the time of posting this I am in Indiana. I hope to reach Nebraska by tonight.
Thank you guys so much!
Posted 10 years agoMajor shout out to
Rubbervixen,
Dragonspike16, and
TY604 for helping me out in my time of need. I'm going to make sure I put extra effort into making these commissions the best I can. Unfortunately with the move the time when I'm able to actually post the images will be delayed, but once I'm safe and sound in Oregon with my love
StripedCrocodile my art will be of top priority.

Posted 10 years agoI've been saving up to move out for a while now, And as my income from commissions increased, things were looking up. Unfortunately, my move date has been moved closer than originally intended, and I don't have the funds to leave yet. I have to leave within a week.
I need help. I need commissions. I need money badly. Anyone who wants a commission from me, now's the time. The only drawback is that it might be a while before I can get the art out due to moving, but I will get the art out to anyone that helps me out, guaranteed. I've been doing a lot of trades lately, but I need commissions.
I hate asking like this, I hate being desperate, but this is something I can no longer afford to let grow on its own.

Commissions open, lots of free space
Posted 10 years agoSo I've just about run out of commissions to work on. Unfortunately, my income hinges entirely on art production. As such, I need more commissions. However, I'd also like to ask what my watchers would like to see in regards to my art. What kinks? What aspects? What characters? Should I do streams? I do have a plan to do a comic, but I'm not sure how I'll profit off of it. would a patreon work out? I need ideas
Help an artist out!

Kinky sketches:

It's getting lonely here
Posted 10 years agoI'm feeling... under appreciated I suppose. It's making it hard to want to draw when my feedback is almost nonexistent. It's been about a year now since I upped my game and really started making artwork that I feel are quality. Seriously, if you dig deep enough in my gallery some of the stuff I posted prior is kinda embarrassing. That said, despite my improvements, despite the extra effort and increased production, the lack of comments per picture is starting to get me down. Constructive criticism is appreciated as much as praise. Even just an emoticon would help. I was really excited to see what feedback I'd get from my most recent YCH auction, and while there was quite a bit of participation, and I put a bunch of extra stuff I didn't plan on originally including in the picture, the final result I feel just got completely blown over. If there's something missing from my artwork, be it line work or expression, even color choice, I'd like to hear from you guys what exactly it is. I know I'm no Rembrandt, but I'd like to think I'm improving, and I want that motivation to keep me going.
Let's all be Silly Together <3
Posted 10 years agoSo my boyfriend Mettle posted this and he had some serious fun with it. Like him, I'll not restrain myself when making offensive replies, but do know it's nothing personal! It's all just to be silly, promise <3
Leave a comment below and I will tell you the following things (or make things up randomly if I don't really know much about you):
1. Tell you what animal/creature you remind me of that ISN'T your fursona's species.
2. Tell you what color I think fits you.
3. Tell you how I feel about you.
4. Insult you.
5. Tell you my favorite character of yours. (If you have more than one...)
6. Tell you what season you remind me of.
7. Tell you what you smell like in my head.
8. Think of a random nickname for you.
9. Tell you what element you remind me of.
10. Tell you what weapon I'd equip you with in a fantasy dungeon crawl
11. Assign you a super power and super-hero/villain name.
12. Tell you what kind of bondage I think you'd put me in.
13. Ask you to put this in your journal without using the word 'tag'

Commission update
Posted 10 years agoTaking into account some of the comments I received in my previous journal, I decided to update my commission list with some of my own preferences when it comes to drawing. You can take a look at the updated journal HERE
I am still open for more commissions, and actually really need them. Any an all help is appreciated, even if it's just sketchwork.

Drawing what I want to
Posted 10 years agoSo... I feel bad saying this stuff, but it's something I need to start doing. I'm getting commissions, but the content of the commissions doesn't tend to appeal to me. As an artist, I want to draw things that I'm good at, things that I enjoy drawing. Unfortunately almost every time I open a commission slot I end up getting requests for things that do not fall under the scope of things I want to draw. Usually they're very specific things, or very small subtle things that, while I'm not particularly against, I'm not fond of drawing either. I understand there's some give and take in these things, people have a diverse array of things they like and no two people will like exactly the same thing, but there are common grounds that I want to appeal to.
I guess what I'm saying is that I'm going to start limiting what I draw to things that I want to draw. Right now, as it is, I'm feeling down about drawing because of all these requests I'm getting that I'm just outright uninterested in. As such I'm far less productive than I want to be, and my ability to actually profit from any of this is plummeting. I need some freedoms in my work, and I'm going to start implementing that into my commissions. I'll still work hard to ensure my work satisfies my customers. I want the reason for people to commission me to be both for quality and content, not because I'm cheap and will draw whatever.

Dearest Commissioners:
Posted 10 years agoI would like to apologize first and foremost for my delayed commissions. But there's a good reason! I swear! Basically, months ago
StripedCrocodile and I decided that he would come to New York State to visit me for a week. We're boyfriends, but up until that point we'd never actually met in person. Lots of video chats, talked every day, but person to person, we both realized, can be quite a different experience.
I'm happy to say for us, that was not the case. He melded so well together, and this past week has been an absolute blast! Unfortunately all good things come to an end, and he had to fly back to Oregon. During that week we wanted to make the most out of our visit, and though I was running a YCH auction at the time, I didn't have the time to actually work on much. However, now that he's gone and things are going back to normal, I'm back in the saddle and will devote most my time into doing these commissions.
Some of you may know that I lost my job recently, so I don't have a steady income. However, I'm improving at my speed of production and my art quality, so I honestly feel if I devote the same energy that I did at work into commissions and art I can actually turn this around into a good thing. Art is my passion, always has been, and if I can turn that passion into a meaningful, profitable profession, then I'm living the dream.
So fear not! All the pending commissions I have will be finished soon! I've already completed a bunch of them in a single sitting, and I plan on dropping more on you guys as fast as possible!

Commissions and pricing
Posted 10 years agoRight now I'm kind of doing this 'do the best work that I can' spree. While I'd like to maintain reasonable pricing, I do feel I undersell myself for the amount of work I put into these drawings. As such, I'd like to know what you're willing to pay for my quality of work. All prices are negotiable, and if what I charge feels like too much I can always tone it down within reason, but right now I feel like my work is worth at least 50, though I only even plan on asking for about 35 base price (all USD). I know I'm not the best artist or the fastest, but I do believe I have my own unique and well-developed style that is fit for commissions.
Thing is, Mettle, my boyfriend, is coming to visit me in a couple weeks and I need to be able to afford to do the things I want to with him. I'm trying to raise money through these commissions and train myself to get into the groove of regularly drawing and finishing projects in a timely manner. If anyone has any thoughts, gripes, or suggestions, please feel free to drop a comment.
Also, on a side note, I don't do sketches often, as I am the kind of artist who uses only the basest of sketch mapping before I start coloring and finalizing my pieces. However, I'm willing to do flat-color sketch commissions for $10, and no-color sketches for $5. These I will put the extra effort into making visually pleasing by smoothing out the sketches and making sure the final product is fit for display. Basically linework, but with a more hand-made feel.

Commissions and future aspirations
Posted 10 years agoAs it turns out, I hate working. Maybe I'm just unlucky in the jobs I've been getting, as they're all corporate hell holes that act as if they care about their employees and customers yet seem to have no interest once the money gets passed around. As such, I want to quit my job. I'm figuring that if I can get some serious commissioning done, I can make as much if not more than I have been. I'd be home, so I can actually communicate with those I care about. I'd be doing something I'm passionate about rather than always feeling like wasted potential mixed with depression. Unfortunately, I feel what held me back in the past was my view of art as a hobby. I did it because I enjoyed it while at the same time searched for work. I never committed to it in full, never actively pursued it as a way of earning an honest living. Doing the math though, I think I could pull it off. I just need to get off the ground.
So here's where the important thing is: I need a serious list of interested commissioners. I won't be able to get this thing started without help. My art quality has improved drastically in a very short amount of time, and I can only get better as I go. I want to know who's interested in being a part of this with me, and what is considered a reasonable purchase.
