Wow. This year has KICKED MY ASS. Seriously.

Since my last post I have:
Gotten my game accepted as my senior capstone, Won a little bit of grant money for said game, got a job offer to be an artist for a big-name's video game, graduated with my Bachelor's degree, had my part time 'get me by' job forcibly roll me into a full time position, watched my game dissolve because my programmer and I have no free time anymore, had the job offer yanked out from under me because the entire game was based on approval from a 3rd party - which never happened, and have now been working on my art portfolio in the hours I can squeak by while not at work.

Whew.

As always.. I can't promise I'll be able to update quickly.. but now more then ever there's a fire under my ass to do good art work. And I want to share it with you guys. I've got something coming up relatively soon and after that? Who knows. Building a portfolio is a big task.

So, I know it's been a long time... like.. TOO long.. but here's the situation: I'm moving. Like..tomorrow. It's only to an apartment in the middle of town, but my folks are going clear to North Dakota. The whole family is upset..especially my mom. I'm doing my best to hold it together, fake a smile and try to prop everyone's spirits up as my brother move into our new place to finish our collective senior years at college.

It's going to be a lot of work, and both my schedule and finances scare the crap out of me.

I have to keep pushing though, even though the worry makes it hard to move, let alone do homework.


So.. for art stuff: I am not dead... just dead tired. I'm pushing to have my video game project taken up as my senior capstone project, and it's my highest priority right now other then paying rent and keeping food in the fridge.

It's still early, and I'll probably post a lot of boring stuff that my class requires in the beginning, but here's the dev blog. Come say hi some time!

Ok, so I've been something of a ghost around here for a while. "How is this different from usual?" I hear you ask? Well... I'm making a vidja game! In addition to the Legends of Equestria stuff, that is. In addition to my usual character work, I'm making animations, UI stuff, the whole art shtick. I'm under NDA right now, so no spoilers, but when I can I'll upload stuff!

Hey all! Do any of you guys have, or know someone that has a 3d printer? I've been wanting to make one for the longest time, and I actually have some bits and pieces that I can use for it, but I never have the spare cash to get the printed parts I need.

It's finally happened folks, I am officially open for sculpture commissions! This is my first attempt at this sort of thing, so bear with me if I'm a bit clunky at first here.

SO

How it works: I currently offer two types of sculpture commission (because I can't really think of anything else at the moment;) Busts and Full character commissions.

Busts will be between 4 and 6 inches tall, painted (unless you specify otherwise), non-adult, and made from super sculpey. Depending on how busy I get, they usually take about a month or so to finish.

Busts come with two flavors of base (the bottom part of the sculpt), classical and custom. Classical is simple and stylish, while custom is pretty much whatever you want. I haven't made any classical bases yet, but here are a couple with custom bases:

Classical Busts will run about $150 + shipping, and Custom Busts run about $200 + shipping, as I tend to spend about as much time on the base as the character itself! Price will vary a little depending on complexity, things like wings or very intricate bases would be examples of this. If you don't have any usable pictures of your character that I can use as ref, I charge $20 to whip up a sketch (which you approve, and acts as the blueprint of the sculpt.)

Full characters: These are a bit more tricky as I don't have much experience with them (something I'm working on changing, shhhhh!) These are non-adult sculptures of your character in any pose you like, painted, and will be roughly 4-6 inches tall. If you don't have any good ref for the pose or your character, I'll make up a sketch based on any info you provide for $20.

Full character sculptures will start at $200 + shipping. These will vary based on complexity as well. As I get more used to full character modeling, these prices may change accordingly.

Ok! So I've been noodling around with my clay again, and an idea hit me.

Would any of you guys be interested in custom sculpted character keychains? I was thinking of offering customs at a higher price (with option for duplicates), and generics with a custom paint-job at a lower price.

Ok.. so I'm a little under the weather. The real reason I haven't been around lately is actually because I'm working on my professional portfolio though! So.. with the exception of the last few days where I've been single-handedly using up all the tissue-paper on the planet, I've been pushing my ability to paint! I'm gonna do some studies including furry work in the near future, but I gotta finish up what I'm working on first.

Just a little update: It turns out I can go on a payment plan for the whole "My school is out for blood" bit. I'm still a tad concerned about my monthly income paying for all this (especially with my other student loans looming on the horizon) .. but at least I don't have to pull 2k out of my rear.

So it seems the university wants me to pay them the 2k I owe them for last semester by the end of the month, or they're calling in a collection agency. *sigh* I wasn't sitting on my ass this whole summer. I was working as much as I could get paid for..and it all went back to STUDENT LOANS. I'm not magically gonna make 2k in 10 days. It's just not possible even if you guys help.

My folks wont help. They never do. Another loan is out of the question, as they would both require a cosigner.. and add to my monthly bills. It's looking like my only option is to continue looking for a full time job, pray to god they'll let me use a credit transfer check thingy to put it on my credit card for 0% apr.. and hope to god I get that job by the time my REAL student loans kick in. The ones that haven't gone into repayment yet.

*sigh* I'm NINE credits from graduation.


Anyway..thats enough emoing from me. I've got something nice in the works for you guys, but it might go on the backburner with all this crap going on. Commissions, as always, are still open. Thanks for the read, guys.

I don't know exactly the reason WHY it occurs.. but it seems every day I start off rust. I suppose it makes sense though: Runners don't run without stretching first, my brain doesn't get into creative mode without a good deal of warming up. The problem is that it takes so damn long that I end up stopping before I get to the good part.

BUT YOU GAIS!!! It's so friggin' awesome when you get into that good frame of mind! If any of you guys draw.. I seriously recommend turning on some awesome music and just slugging it out for as long as you can. If you keep going without any serious distractions (put down that video game, mister!), I think the odds of getting into the zone get higher.

Hey all! It's been a bit since I updated.. but I HAS REZUN! All of the sudden about two days ago my lappy, which I use as my main computer at this point, started humming a tune of it's own. LOUDLY.

Now, I'm not a certified computer technition.. but I know a thing or two. I've run a defrag.. and unknowingly I set it on thurough scandisk (It's still scanning.. and on hour friggin 28 now!), so once I get the results, I can finally rule out my hard-drive. That'll leave me with just the fan and the processor.

I'm crossing my fingers for it being the fan. I just hope it explains the heat build up on the left side of the lappy as well. I guess macbook pros dont enjoy having windows run on them XD

Hey folks! I know it's been like... a billion years since I last updated. Here's the state of things at the Bunny Ranch:

First off...decidedly less woman and way more actual bunnies here then I first thought. Oh well. They look so cute with their little saddles on.

Second: It turns out I need $1500 in order to even register for my classes next semester... of which I need TWO to graduate.

Third: Thanks to #2 up there, I'm scrambling for cash. Commissions are, and perpetually will be open, but what it boils down to is that I need to get some full-time work. >.>

I'm not giving up though! Even though it's gonna be tough, I'm going to try and actually get work DONE around here. I may or may not even end up as colorist for a friend's comic. She just has to actually send it to me first *cough* HINT *cough*.

Hey folks! Easter is rolling around so naturally ..... my job refuses to pay me. Yup, the supermarket I work at doesn't give paid vacations for the day they kick us all out, and thanks to a sick day last week, my paychecks are netting me a grand total of...well...squat. I guess that's what I get for working only weekends.

To that end, I've opened commissions for a limited time! Throw me a note and I'll work up a sketch for $5! Full body, one character, my only stipulation being that it isn't pr0n. Got a question? Send a note! If you want anything else, It'll be at the normal rates, but I'm open for those as well :3
