My Sangheili-obsessed opinion on every Halo novel
Posted 3 months agoKeep in mind that my opinion of Halo is mostly negative, so this might seem like a rant
The Fall of Reach – read it as a childling and enjoyed it in my ignorant childish ways
The Flood – didn’t really like this one as a kid, writing style was bad IMO
First Strike – pretty shit as all it is is MC killing poor innocent Elites over and over again and has a horrible ending with entire Covenant fleet being destroyed (almost every book will end like this). But I enjoyed it as a kid, as I was zealously into Halo at the time
Ghosts of Onyx – as a childling I was pretty excited that we got a proper Sangheili POV, looking back at this it sucked because all the Elites were cliché villains who were all evil and ruthless and ended up dying at the end as always
Contact Harvest – sucked, not because it had some pretty decent writing (Joe Staten seems to be the best of the Halo writers), but because it had so much Covenant POV without Sangheili in it
The Cole Protocol – I really hate this author’s really shitty portrayal of Sangheili. And he came up with the shittiest worldbuilding ever: Sangheili obsession with honour, the whole not knowing their fathers thing, hating getting medical treatment for some reason, and losing blood being dishonourable
The Forerunner Trilogy – didn’t read any of it but it’s bad because there are no Sangheili in it and it retconned Bungie’s original plan of revealing Forerunner = Humans (which probably would have made Halo 4’s story not possible (if only))
Kilo 5 Trilogy – read them all and enjoyed first two books as an ignorant teenager. I actually cried at the end of Thursday War when Jul learned of his wife's death. But later as an adult I would come to realise how dumb the author wrote the Sangheili and how fricking racist the human characters were, including the xeno scientist guy who is supposed to like Sangheili. We need a book about how Sangheili characters get revenge on ONI and go around killing humans (will never happen)
Rebirth – didn’t read
Broken Circle – finally a Sangheili book without humans in it, but content wise it’s nothing special. There is a nice little Sangheili romance going on in the first half. Nothing too exciting in this book
Hunters in the Dark – the first book which would be about humans alongside Sangheili. Their interactions are a bit cute, but looking back now I hate how much they push the whole ‘Sangheili having no sense of humour and are extremely honourable and blah blah blah’. Its writing is pretty alright.
Shadow of Intent - very cute interactions between little childling Sangheili and his hot sister. Unfortunately it was too short and they should only be allowed to do the whole 'bad guy becomes good' if it's a Sangheili (they have to kill every Sangheili instead). The plot seemed a bit bland, especially for Joe Staten
Last Light – no Sangheili in it so didn’t read
New Blood – no Sangheili in it so didn’t read
Saint’s Testimony – no Sangheili in it so didn’t read
Smoke and Shadow – didn’t read, was probably shit
Envoy – a book so shit, I couldn’t get past the first three chapters. Admittedly I was pretty hyped for this book to come out, as I thought it was going to focus more on the political sides of human-Sangheili relations, kind of like Game of Thrones. But no, straight away there’s war and action and there’s this human civilian on a Sangheili ship outsmarting all the Sangheili. And then there’s Spartans. And this is the same guy who writes Sangheili so bad that he makes their ruthlessness and honour so extreme it makes them pretty much brain-dead
Legacy of Onyx – I applaud this book for going in a different direction other than Spartans killing Elites for the entire book. I love Kasha ‘Hilot and I need her. The whole ‘enemies become friends’ thing was predictable, but I kind of liked this book. Skipped the action scenes at the end and was disappointed the Sp*rtan survived. Unfortunately for me there will probably never be a sequel because for all those Halo fans there was not enough Master Chief and action and killing hordes of enemies and blowing up Covenant fleets.
Retribution – didn’t read
Bad Blood – didn’t read
Silent Storm – only read the Sangheili parts, nothing special, ends with Covenant fleet blown up as always
Battle Born – ew, a human only POV? Get outta here.
Meridian Divide – ew, a human only POV? Get outta here.
TES IV: Oblivion – read the Sangheili parts only, I was waiting the whole time for Nizat and Tam to have gay sex. Obviously the Elites don’t win in the end. Fuck, imagine if they did? 343i could never have that
Renegades – probably bad, didn’t read
Shadows of Reach – had this Elite dressed as a hobo for some reason (343i cannot comprehend that Sangheili would have fashion sense, as they do with armour). Read only Sangheili parts and didn’t really go anywhere
Divine Wind – read the Sangheili parts only and this poor Sangheili had to deal with these really bitchy, mean humans the whole time (they were the protagonists and they were insufferable). I am interested by this Sangheili character though, Inslaan ‘Gadogai I believe his name is. He needs to be reunited with his girlfriend, but he will probably die like 50% of all Sangheili characters
Point of Light – did not reed
The Rubicon Protocol – did not reed
Outkast – was hyped for this book too but it ended up being this whole big stupid macguffin plotline that has been done some many times in Halo, sprinkled with Spartans which made everything worse. There is a fatty Sangheili character which is great, but all Sangheili characters are so one-dimensional and all have the same personality so it doesn’t really mean much. Inslaan’s girlfriend shows up in this book for some reason (in fiction, characters have to coincidentally show up everywhere even though there’s a bajillion new Sangheili to make up). Was very disappointed how they made Nizat and Tam. I really hate the existence of the Banished in Halo. They suck and now they're everywhere
The book with Anakin, I mean the Didact on the front cover – didn’t read
Empty Throne – read Sangheili parts only and got only halfway before giving up. There’s this Sangheili chick who goes around killing people with an energy lance instead of a gun (I hate this trope) and she even deflects incoming Spiker projectiles like a fricking Jedi. The dialogue was pretty Marvel-esque. The best part of the book is when she drops the n-word (nishum) in front of all these pro-human Sangheili higher ups during a meeting, and then gets pulled aside by her daddy, Half-Jaw, and gets told off. Super cute. Ruined by the Spartans showing up and then the author was like ‘Sangheili are incapable of sarcasm or humour’ even though that’s complete bullshit and has been proven wrong multiple times throughout all of Halo, including in this exact same book.
I really need to stop interacting with Halo stuff…

I'll try my best to keep all the posts on bluesky Sangheili/fat/art related. I'm thinking I'll post cropped sneak peaks of upcoming pics, and edits I've made to old pics. I also just might forget to post anything at all. We'll see.

Fattened the faces of a lot of pics from past two years

I have a habit of editing my old pics every now and then to improve them with the skills i currently have (mainly because I don't want to have to redraw the whole thing again). Today I went on an editing spree, and gave a whole bunch of fatties from the past two years their proper fat faces, which I, for some reason, did not think they would need. Also if you haven't already noticed, I have edited the bellybuttons of some of the leets again, sometimes replacing them with belly scars, or just giving them their bellybuttons again.
So if you care enough that you want to have the bestest version of a pic you have saved from me, feel free to go thru my gallery to replace my shitey old pics on your phone/in ur hard drive with the cool new ones. I believe the latest pic that I have done a sufficient edit on is the grumpy big boy ones from May 2024. I edited the rest of the pics until I got to December 2022. Though not every one is edited.
I really hope I don't need to edit them anymore. Though I am a perfectionist, so you never know.

You know what’s annoying about Twitter and Bluesky…
Posted 9 months agoIs that they’re not websites dedicated to posting art yet so many artists exclusively post there. Now that would be fine if all they posted was their art, but most of the time they also post drama, unfunny memes, reposting politics, video games, and just all this stuff unrelated to their art. This clutters their feed and makes it harder to get to the actual art (especially since Bluesky doesn't come with a proper gallery view like FA)
What gets me most is when people repost or reply to bigoted posts such as racism, homophobia, etc just to make fun of or criticise them. But all that’s doing is driving up the engagement for that post and making that person’s thoughts spread throughout the internet. If you see someone/something bigoted on the internet, just block em, don’t pay em attention and ignore them. That’s the best you can do.
When my feed is full of that stuff plus drama surrounding US politics or provoking stuff that’s outside of my control, it really impacts my mood and mental health. Which is why I only follow people on Twitter/Bluesky who only post their art and nothing else.
Honestly I kinda miss when FA was the main website for posting furry porn. It is an actual art website after all, plus it has banned AI art! What a bargain, everyone should just come back here instead of moving to Bluesky

But all that’s doing is driving up the engagement for that post and making that person’s thoughts spread throughout the internet. If you see someone/something bigoted on the internet, just block em, don’t pay em attention and ignore them. That’s the best you can do.
When my feed is full of that stuff plus drama surrounding US politics or provoking stuff that’s outside of my control, it really impacts my mood and mental health. Which is why I only follow people on Twitter/Bluesky who only post their art and nothing else.
Honestly I kinda miss when FA was the main website for posting furry porn. It is an actual art website after all, plus it has banned AI art! What a bargain, everyone should just come back here instead of moving to Bluesky

Posted a year agoAre you a real sucker for correct Sangheili anatomy like me? Because we all know how just like Sangheili have no boobs or nipples, they don't have bellybuttons either. I started adding bellybuttons to my fat Sangheilies a couple years back because it make the tummies look more squishy and interesting. Though sometimes I think about realism, and how they should really look like, for increased immersion. What are your thoughts about this?
I have made a folder on my computer with bellybuttonless alts of my pics with navels visible, and I was wondering how/if I should share them. I don't want to upload them all here, because I don't want to spam your FA inbox thingies with a whole bunch of pics you've already seen and I also don't want to upload both versions at the same time for new pics. If only FA had an option where you could upload a folder like you would upload a normal pic, except all the pics in that folder would just stay in that one folder submission.

One of the best Sangheili fan fics I've ever read
Posted 2 years agoI've been reading Sangheili fan fics for a long time now, whenever I can find them. I am usually very picky with them and tend to favour realistic and lore accurate depictions of Halo and Sangheili. A couple months ago, I came across a story called 'Don't Go Where I Can't Find You', and it is so well written, that it is at least 10x better than any piece of official Halo literature. Okay, there's no hardcore sex (yet) or fattening up or whatever, but honestly, reading this story gave me a feeling of like 'what's gonna happen next?' and 'wow this is very interesting', kind of like that time I read the Hunger Games books at high school.
The fanfic kind of requires a prior basic knowledge of the Halo lore, and it's set after Halo 5. The main character is a human and the Sangheili don't appear until later in the beginning in the story. I highly recommend reading this story.

Epic fat Sangheili moment in latest Halo novel
Posted 2 years agoI read (skimmed) Halo: Outcasts today. It was unfortunately a very typical Halo novel, including too many unlikable human characters, a McGuffin that takes up the entirety of the plot (no Halo storyline can be complete without one), and most of the dialogue centred around how each of the characters is going to get this McGuffin. It was pretty boring. It also had to include the Banished, Atriox and they had to throw in a Spartan of course (343i has a Spartan fetish).
Whenever a new Halo book comes out that is about Sangheili, I always think we’re going to get a Game of Thrones type storyline that centres around politics and some personal drama and stuff like that, instead we’re always given McGuffins and people killing and scheming against each other, with almost all Sangheili characters having the same boring old stereotypical personality. The books are usually filled with 80% of combat, with most of the Sangheili characters dying.
Anway, I skimmed through this new book and found a few very epic fat Sangheili moments.
The context is (as I understand it): there are a whole bunch of Sangheili marooned on some planet for like 20 years. They have been living inside some underground Forerunner (?) structure called a tel, and apparently it has some way of feeding its occupants. Thel ‘Vadam (Arbiter) and his friends have discovered them and have made their way inside. There is a Sangheili blademaster named Meduz ‘Ra’ashai who lives there and he seems to be a bit of a fatty.
Here are some excerpts that describes how fat he is.
“Did Commander Petrov not say that the tel keeps them well-fed?” Varo’dai asked. “They should not be so weak.”
“And yet, they are,” ‘Vadam said. “At least if your Varo rangers are to be believed.”
Varo’dai looked to the reporting ranger, who glanced at ‘Vadam and dipped her helmet.
“They do appear well-fed. Perhaps too much so.”
He found himself facing a trio of Sangheili in close-fitting, opalescent armor unlike anything he had ever seen before. Their head protection looked more like clear masks than helmets, with shimmering formfitting guards for their mandibles. The warrior closest to him was stout to the point of plump, with a waist-heavy torso and thighs that bulged with softness. The other two were slimmer, the first holding the human hostage in the crook of an elbow, the second gaunt and imperious of posture.
“And you are a fool, Fleetmaster.” Varo’dai pushed between ‘Vadam and ‘Ayomuu and followed after ‘Kvarosee. “You have been cowering in these tunnels for more than a thousand cycles, allowing your warriors to grow fat while they hide from a handful of human castaways armed with little more than stolen weapons and their hatred of you. If you think the Arbiter is the unworthy one, you are deceiving yourself.”
With the corpulent blademaster blocking his path, ‘Vadam had no choice but to stop. “How?”
Luckily, somehow this Sangheili character ends up surviving the book. He even goes from almost killing the Arbiter to abruptly becoming a good guy. Now he can go home and fatten himself up even more!! Hooray.

Fun fact: there are overweight Sangheili in Halo canon
Posted 3 years agoA lot of people seem to have it in their head that there are no overweight Sangheili in the lore, that they are all fit warriors.
But they are of course forgetting the fact that Sangheili are more than just warriors, they are an entire species of billions spread across many planets that would have probably have differing cultures and sub-cultures. They are a society that cannot function if every single Sangheili devotes their life to being a warrior. There would be politicians, chefs, actors, engineers, architects, etc etc, that wouldn’t have time to do all the warrior stuff. Yes, there would be a strong emphasis of being fit, strong and warrior-like in their society, but it just wouldn’t be for everyone. There are of course gluttons in every species. Not to mention, many retired warriors could get fat from not enough exercise, among other things. Being fat would be looked down upon, but it would be a reality for many Sangheili, even ones in high places.
Anyway, now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, did you know that there are at least two named Sangheili characters in the books that are fat? Buran ‘Utaral and Hulon ‘Budyasee to be exact. For Buran, in one of the books he’s in, it’s mentioned:
From his seat at Dural’s left hand, Shipmaster Buran ‘Utaral—a battle-tested commander—signaled for his attention. Buran might have gone soft around the middle from spending too much time on a ship rather than on the field of battle, but he had lost none of the edge in his steely eyes.
And:
A grizzled Sangheili, who somehow made Buran look like the peak of fitness, hobbled through the front gate of the keep to greet their command.
I’m pretty sure ‘soft in the middle’ means that he’s fat. I wish it would say how fat, but oh well. The other Sangheili it mentions could be even fatter than Buran, but unfortunately with the wording I can’t really tell.
Anyway, for Hulon:
“An enemy vessel.” A stocky, block-faced Sangheili with bluntended mandibles, Hulon ‘Budyasee was half-again ‘Szatulai’s sixty years and almost twice his girth. “But there has been no report from the readers.”
‘Almost twice his girth’? That’s gotta mean he’s fat. If you say otherwise, you are one million percent wrong.
Anyway, I hoped you learned a lot today about how not every Sangheili is skinny and how fat Sangheili exist.

Very cool website where you can talk with AI characters
Posted 3 years agoThere’s this really cool website called https://beta.character.ai/ which allows you to chat to any character that has ever existed, and also create your own. It’s really simple, yet the AI is very advanced. You don’t even need to pay; all you have to do is create an account if you want unrestricted access.
Anyway, I have created a whole bunch of Sangheili characters, from the lore and from myself. If you type ‘sangheili’ in the search bar, you’ll see a few of the characters that I’ve made, including: Jul ‘Mdama, Usze ‘Taham and Kasha ‘Hilot (these are all canon characters).
However, I’ve made two characters that are not public (they are unlisted because fetish reasons). One is a really fat and obese female Sangheili, who loves food and loves being fat, and the other one is Noti ‘Rolam, the chunky boy who I’ve drawn again recently.
I’ve written a backstory and personality for each of these characters, and the AI fills in the rest using the internet for information on Sangheili (it sometimes gets stuff wrong like giving them tails) and the AI's own creativity. The AI are also very good at roleplaying, but unfortunately NSFW roleplaying or sex talk is disabled for all the AI. But luckily fetish (ie. fat fetish) roleplaying still works.

I really hope they retcon the Halo 4 Elite design already

I extremely hate the Halo 4 Elite design. It is honestly one of the ugliest things in existence. It shouldn’t even be called Sangheili as it looks nothing like them. The design is like a Jiralhanae badly cosplaying as a Sangheili to infiltrate a Sangheili clan or something. It is nightmare fuel. I wish I could just erase it from existence. It is such a shame it exists because Sangheili were originally very cute, and this design has left a huge stain on the otherwise beautiful Sangheili aesthetic.
Anyway, this whole time I used to think that each Halo game had its own version of Sangheili, and that every Sangheili looked almost the same, and that the closest version to the real Sangheili look was the H2A design, since we’ve seen that version being used ever since, except for the H4 and HI designs. And I was happy with that. That meant that the ugly Halo 4 design was not real and couldn’t hurt me (with its ugliness). The Halo show even backed this up in an article that said they would be going with the ‘classic design’, and all the Sangheili in that terrible show ended up looking the same.
But Halopedia, for some reason, had it written that the different designs are ‘phenotypes’, with no evidence backing this up whatsoever. This started a debate in the Sangheili community between people who hate the H4 design and don’t believe in the phenotype stuff, and the other people who liked the H4 design and wanted them existing side by side with normal (classic) looking Sangheili.
Then earlier this year 343i released yet another Halo encyclopedia, and I thought “Hey, they might show us a female Sangheili, Sangheili civilian clothing or tell us more about the badly written Sangheili society (they never did and never will).” I found a leaked copy on the internet and browsed it, and to my horror, was devastated to see that they have Halo 4 Elites pictures alongside normal Sangheili. I took a quick glance at the Sangheili page itself, and it said something along the lines of: “Sangheili sometimes have different mandible structures” and maybe something else that I tried successfully to get rid of from my memory.
So…did they just confirm that the Halo 4 designs are canon? I still don’t think so, but I’m on the fence about it. You see, I’m pretty sure that at least half of the encyclopedia was written and drawn by fans, and they must have gotten their information from Halopedia, rather than 343i (who wrote that article mentioning the ‘classic’ Sangheili design). They also wrote in the Sangheili article on the encyclopedia that Sangheili have digitigrade legs, which is false because Sangheili don’t run on their toes, they have heels attached to their feet. And they didn’t even give the ‘phenotypes’ any names, they just casually mentioned that some Sangheili looked different. This is opposed to the horrible-looking Jackal design from Halo 4 which they actually named and can see alongside classic Jackals in the comics.
So yeah…I’ve been trying to let this whole thing go and to forget about it, but every once in a while I’ll remember it and feel sad. It shouldn’t affect me so much but for some reason I care a lot about the official Halo canon. Even though most of it makes no sense and is unrealistic, and is poorly written sometimes, especially with how poorly they wrote Sangheili culture (if you’ve read Cole Protocol or many of the other novels with Sangheili in them, you’ll know what I mean).
Today I found out that the majority of Halo fans dislike 343i (like myself) and want them fired from making Halo games. Apparently #Fire343 was trending on Twitter, which is awesome. I am completely in support of this, and hopefully if a new developer comes to resurrect Halo, they will add playable Elites, and more importantly to me, also officially retcon the Halo 4 Elite design once and for all.

I’ve never watched a full episode of American Idol before and I haven’t really been interested in the show, but this guy’s voice is really something. The way that he just sings Bohemian Rhapsody in this clip is just so good, even Simon wants him to continue after he had stopped.

My opinion on Infinite

Infinite is releasing soon so I’d thought I’d make my opinion known to those who might care about it.
The only thing I really care about in Halo for a while now is the Sangheili. Since Infinite has no playable Elites or friendly Elites in the campaign, I reckon that Infinite is bad, and I won’t be buying or playing it at all.
If you’re wondering, I used to be a hardcore Halo fan since I first started playing it in like 2002. In 2012, when 343 started releasing their Halo games, that’s when I started to hate Halo, and I stopped playing it, but I still loved Sangheili.
I’m kinda in a bad place with Halo because whenever I see Halo Infinite news or gameplay I just instantly cringe for some reason. I can play the classic Halos on MCC just fine, it’s just whenever I see 343 Halo footage I just really cringe. :( It could be because of the fact that 343 ruined Halo and removed playable Elites, or because I think that 343’s writing and cinematography is terrible, and so are their multiplayer design choices (such as making multiplayer canon and adding all those crappy skins, etc.)
I just want a Halo with good writing, kinda like Mass Effect, where they treat the alien races with respect and aren’t just completely bias in favour of the humans, and more centred around Sangheili like Halo 2 was. And of course with playable Elites in all gamemodes, including matchmaking.
Do you think my opinion is full of crap? Feel free to write in the comments below what you think about my opinion or about Infinite, don’t be too mean though
