Ah it's that time of the year again, a brand new year! Welcome to 2025 and the year of the snake! I've been spending some days in a holiday cottage, so I haven't been too active. On the 30th of December I also celebrated my birthday, so it's always busy around year's end.

Onto business: I haven't written much last year, and I am working on two stories right now: a shorter story accompanying a commission I got, and more importantly: a way overdue birthday gift for a friend! I hope to upload both very soon for you guys'enjoyment.

I hope you all will have a lot of fun in the new year, and here's to a great 2025!

So you guys may have noticed a sudden absence from all kinds of websites. On top of that, I suddenly stopped posting on social media too.
Well... I got COVID on the 22nd, and have recovered only a few days ago. I missed out on celebrating Christmas with family, but I did see my parents during my 32nd birthday on the 30th. Over on social media I was posting daily TF stories to get my writing spirit back a bit. Needless to say, the micro fiction project has been put on hold. I plan on compiling the stories in a single file, so that other places I post to can read them too. I might throw in some extra stories, but the idea hasn't been set in stone yet.

Currently I'm working on a story for a friend which involves muscle growth. After that, there are a lot of other stories on the backburner I need to get back to. So yeah, loads of things happened, but I still am working on projects!

2023 ended very bumpy for me, but I won't let that deter me from having fun!

Ok, it's time I explain what the hell has been going on.

The past few months I've not been uploading any story, only posting some art I've commissioned or got from others...
Thing is that since the start of June, after my vacation in Germany, my motivation absolutely tanked. I couldn't put words to paper easily: I was in a writer's block. But how did that happen?

Well, I didn't know either at the time, writing just seemed like an incredibly daunting task, but after thinking about it, it's likely because there were some projects earlier that year that didn't go anywhere:

* There was a trade with an artist that didn't pan out, and I'm still sitting on a half-finished story.
* Someone wanted to commission me for a story, but I had to drop it due to new information coming to light.
* A writing collaboration did not get off the ground, because the person I'm working with is also in writer's block

It wasn't until  Rhett-Thenos started on a sketch that I picked up the pen again. I wanted to give him something back in return. The premise was fun and we had some good back and forth. It still took me months to finish it, missing his late July birthday in the process.

I'm still trying to find my own rhythm, the writing block doesn't feel over. I don't think I can keep up with my bi-weekly upload schedule, but I'm not giving up on writing. I still have stories I want to tell, and I want to share those with you guys.

Just don't expect me to be fast.

With the confusion and fear around FA changing its upload policy, I'm letting you all know that I'm staying here. I am intending to upload my stories to Sofurry, just in case, but I haven't gotten around to doing so yet.

In other news, I have moved off of Twitter and am now using Mastodon over on https://meow.social/@randomwolfguy
The Discord server is still going strong and I use it a lot, despite its small size. :p

The year rolled by, and I turned 31 on the penultimate day. Number goes up, no time to feel old!

I've got a few projects I'll work on the next few weeks, updates to concoct and maybe even write a sequel. I don't know what the new year has in store, and if my tenuous schedule will hold, but I'm going to make the best of it!

 MalicTheWriter and  yafath are hosting a transformation game jam over on Itch! Considering the subject manner, I couldn't let that one slide.

For those unfamiliar with the concept: a game jam is a challenge where you create a game within limited time. It usually doesn't matter how you make the game, as long as you have fun! Even if you aren't going to participate, there are still the games people made which you can play afterwards!

I am planning on participating. I have a Twine game prototype I have lying around, which I can probably wrangle into shape. No promises though, as my pace is usually glacial. Nonetheless, this will be a good exercise in using Twine!

I kind of missed my one-year anniversary of writing stories and posting them here.... Oops.

Anyways! Since the 10th of October 2021 I've made an effort to post a story here every two weeks. That kind of didn't pan out, what with my low amounts of energy and not really sticking to plans. Speaking of plans, in the far and distant past of half a year ago, I was thinking of doing this giant recap with all the characters in my stories. It never came farther than the wistful thinking phase. So have this journal instead!

*Whistle and popping noises*

I do have made measurable progress to show though! I'm now confident enough to write and post smut! No really, that was a giant concern of mine! I just didn't think I could do smut justice. However, it seems like the story that people really, really like is also incredibly horny xD. (It's werewolf familiar, if you didn't know)

I'm also much more in contact with others in the community. Although this account is ten years old, I was pretty sheltered on the furry side of things up until more than a year ago. I just favorited my days away on this account. It wasn't until I connected with others that I mustered the courage to post actual stories.

I've talked a lot with others on Discord, and I really, truly appreciate all the people who vocally and silently support me. Even if you silently favorite and/or watch me, I love your support! It might sound trite and sappy, but I doubt myself constantly. Seeing those little acknowledgements that people actually do care about what I throw into the ether.

I would shout out the people I talk a lot with, but because it's one big server by zen and my own small-time server, it's just too many people to shout out! Just know that if we talked lots, it means I care lots in return! Hell, without you people, I wouldn't even have made my sona, Ruweg, to begin with! I just wanted to give myself a face in the community, and I've grown more and more attached to him ever since!

A lot has happened in this past year, and to be honest, I was in one of my heavily doubting spells again. But thinking back to it. Sincerely, I have to thank you all for this! I don't think I would've held out for a year without the people in the community!

In regard to the standard fare: I'm planning to post a short story SFW by Sunday, but I don't know whether or not it's panning out right now. But I will try!

Mid-November, and I will mark my calendar on this, I will start something. I might regret it. I might love it. Either way it's something I've done exactly once, but now I want to do it for real. Keep an eye on my journals around then. You might like it...

Hey there! Long time no journal!

It's already the first of May and it's time to reflect on April. Something I haven't done yet, but it will be a good exercise!
With my two-weekly upload schedule, I've managed to post two stories. One was part of a collaboration with others, the other was written to coincide with King's day.

But we're going over Ruweg first!
Yes, he's my fursona from now on. I only intended his ref to be a base for a commission, but negatheimpmon9508's reference grew on me.
Ruweg is a brown wolf with beige accents, and let's not forget the orange toepads and nose! Personality-wise he's mostly me though :p

As for stories, here's a quick recap:
Who's wolves Is a short story about shapeshifters trying to protect wolves who are slowly settling down in the Netherlands. This one was part of a collaboration project from over on zen's Discord server.

Thrifting for a change Is yet another short story, this one is on the silly side. A witch is looking for a pair of eyeballs

While chattng on Zen's discord server, the topic of haikus came up. It being a TF focused server, they were naturally gravitating towards transformation. We had quite some fun coming up with poetry, and I couldn't just let it go. It even got me thinking: why don't I post a daily TF haiku for a whole month? It's the festive season after all, capped off by my birthday.

That's why I'm going to post one haiku every day in December. Starting tomorrow, I will post the first haiku at around 7PM UTC+2. I intend to post them daily, until the end of the year has been reached.

A second writing project is also in the works, but that one is "on hold" for now, but I intend it to be finished before the end of the year as well.
