A great furry year!
Posted 12 years agoAs we close out 2013, I have to say that this has certainly been a good year for me in regards to things furry. From attending my first meet to making lots of new friends in this terrific fandom, it's definitely been a blast.
People who have meant a lot to me in the past year:
ugacoyote
alms4purgie
vance_warsaw
ryuuyouki
akirolyall
kiaraavesu
fluffehdeer
arc_flash
chaos386
T-Rose

If you don't see your name on this list, don't think I'm leaving you out. Everyone I've met here in the fandom, no matter how brief, has been terrific and I hope to spend a lot more time with all of you in the coming year!
That being said, everyone's been so amazing and I wish you all peace and prosperity next year and in the years that follow. Onward to 2014! :)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!
Posted 12 years agoI already said this to those whose phone numbers I had but now I'm saying it to everyone else, Happy Thanksgiving to one and all! I've been so thankful for having such amazing people enter my life this year. I won't say names simply because there are so many of you and I don't want to leave anyone out accidentally but you know who you are. :)
That being said, don't OD on turkey guys! ;D

Happy Halloween!
Posted 12 years agoHappy Halloween to all my furiends out there! Hope you all have lots of spooky fun whether it be going to Halloween parties (as I know a few of you here have) or causing a little mischief! Have a good time as the spooky night creeps upon us! Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha!
P.S. BOO! :P
P.S. BOO! :P
A first for me...
Posted 12 years agoSo at this past Saturday's furmeet I got to try on a fursuit head for the first time. All I can say is this; I now know what it's like for fursuiters and even partial fursuiters to actually be in suit. Even though I only had on the head, it felt a little claustrophobic and uncomfortable, and everything I heard about fursuiters being practically blind does hold true. Now I know why I don't own a fursuit in the first place. :P Sadly, I don't have a picture of me in said fursuit head as I didn't have my camera in the room where the fursuiter's were changing.
Special thanks goes out to
Jyaki for letting me try on the head.
Special thanks goes out to

Anthrocon
Posted 12 years agoTo all my fellow furiends who are going to Anthrocon this year,
I am sure that many of you are already there or will be there soon. I myself unfortunately am not going to be able to make it this year. Hopefully I'll be able to come next year, from what I've heard the con sounds awesome. Nevertheless, I hope you all have fun, take care of yourselves, meet new people, take lots of photos of the con, and above all...STAY SAFE!
Cheers!

Fun day with a fellow fur
Posted 12 years agoWhile today wasn't the best day in my life, I did get to enjoy myself today, thanks to
JacenDKM arranging a little get-together for just the two of us.
To be honest man, it was planned perfectly. My power went out just before I left and apparently was off and on all afternoon. So yeah, thanks for rescuing me from the boredom of no electricity. Your hugs were also greatly appreciated!

First furmeet was a blast!
Posted 12 years agoTonight I went to my first ever furmeet at Limerick Bowling Alley and Limerick Diner, and boy did I have FUN! I meet a bunch of great people including
ryuuyouki (I'm so glad I got to meet you, glad I found a spot at your table at the Diner, and glad we got the chance to chat),
kiaraavesu (We both like photography),
Akiro_Lyall (love your fursuit man!),
aryia (I have to get you to do me a raccoon tail soon!), and
mikauZePi, you (and everyone else I mentioned) were all interesting people to talk too and I'm glad I got to talk to ya before I left. Though I was nervous at first, by the end of the night I am proud to say that I've had the time of my life and I can't wait for the next meet!
Honorable mentions go out to:
ArcFlash - Glad I finally got to meet ya, your squeaking was just too cute!
RoamingWulf - I loved your costume, and it was too bad we didn't get to spend more time together. Maybe the next meet it'll happen.
ToddFawx - Minus the costume bit, pretty much what I said to RoamingWulf
chaos386 - BIG HUGS!!!!! (FYI, I was in the black hoodie in case you need a refresher)
And as a side note, the people who came with me also enjoyed themselves.

Spread the word and come together on this guys!
Posted 12 years agoThis was brought to my attention earlier this evening, and given the seriousness of the issue, I feel it needs to reach as many people as possible. Some people on FA are considering leaving over this.

Ringtailed friends
Posted 12 years agoSomething rather unusual happened to me as I drove home tonight. As I got close to home, within less than a mile of each other, I saw not one, but TWO raccoons along the side of the road! I tell ya, it was such a relief for me to see raccoons actually moving! Most of the time I see them as roadkill along the roadside, and I always get a tug at my heartstrings whenever I see that!
Still, seeing two raccoons in one night doesn't happen every night, especially among a raccoon such as myself. :)

Reflections
Posted 13 years agoWell, with less than two hours to go until we reach 2013, I just want to take a moment to reflect on what has happened and where I'll go from here.
First, I'd like to say that I am very pleased to have joined this site since May. I had no idea such a large furry community existed out there that it needed a site such as this to accomodate them all. :) I'm very glad to have found it and find a plethora of furry artists including
cooner and
keenyfox.
I also found it a place to exhibit my furry writing skills. While I have some works finished, I'm trying to decide which ones to publish here.
I also want to take a moment to acknowledge
ugacoyote. If it wasn't for you man, I wouldn't be on this site right now. I've enjoyed all our phone conversations and emails and IMs we've exchanged since we've first met, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I also like the picture of Randy that you did. I'm sure it wasn't easy for ya because you we're setting the style for my character, but Randy looks fantastic! I (and he) thank you for doing him justice.
Second is
jacendkm. I was pleasantly surprised to find out you go to the same college as me, and even more surprised during our initial meeting to find out that we had previously met when I returned to do another production after I graduated a few years ago. I hope to attend more furmeets with ya an meet up with ya in non-furry settings as well.
Finally, to everyone else out there. I look forward to what 2013 has in store as far as things furry go, and I hope to add a few more furry contacts to my list. I also intend to continue my writing and am aiming to have my first novel published in the coming year. Whatever happens, I know things will work out in the end. Happy New Year to everyone! May 2013 be a good year for you all!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!
Posted 13 years ago Merry Christmas everyone! I wish I had more to say than that, but as Christmas Eve is nearly over and Christmas night coming fast, I'll make this sweet and short - everyone have yourselves a Very Merry Christmas, and may your lives be touched by the goodwill of many. And remember, always believe.

What did I tell ya Doomsdayers?
Posted 13 years agoDecember 21st came and went and we're all still here right? So yeah, nothing happened.
That being said, I'm practically laughing my ass off at the new dilemma the Doomsdayers have facing them - the fact that's it's now three days until Christmas and I'll bet the rings on my tail that many, if not all, haven't even started their Christmas shopping yet. XD

I am sick of Doomsday talk!
Posted 13 years agoI have officially had it with all these "the world will end on December 21, 2012" rumors! It just irks and ires me when people take a belief from an ancient civilization and blow it out of proportion. So in order to qulech any rumors or fears, ol' Randy is here to debunk some of the more common theories that are being spread around in the media.
Theory #1: The Earth will be destroyed by a rogue planet.
Fact: If such an object were headed our way, it would be the brightest object in the sky (after the sun and moon) by now.
Theory #2: A planet called Nibiru will align with Earth and send solar flares in our direction.
Fact: There is no planet called Nibiru.
Theory #3: Geomagnetic Reversal (A phenomenon which would cause a shift in the North and South poles) will occur and would result in numerous terrestrial calamities.
Fact: Such an event would take between 1,000 to 10,000 years to complete, and do not start on any particular date.
So stop worrying! I'm sure when December 21 comes along it'll be just like any other day in our lives. Also, start concerning yourselves with more important issues, like climate change, the holidays, and upcoming furmeets and conventions, to name a few.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Posted 13 years agoHappy Thanksgiving to all furries near and far! I myself have a lot to be thankful for this year. First, I'm thankful for finding out that such a fandom existed. I've been exposed to other worlds through people who share an interest in stories and artwork involving animals, and I'd have to say that without it, I think life would be rather dull for some people.
Second, I'm thankful for my good friend,
ugacoyote for sticking by me through the years. Even though we primarily contact each other by email and phone, you are still someone I can talk to if I ever have a problem, and that is why I'm thankful for ya buddy.
Third, I'm thankful for what the future has in store. Though I don't know who I'll meet or where my life will take me, after meeting
jacendkm and finding out that we actually knew each other previously, I feel that whether good or bad, I'll take it in stride.
So Happy Thanksgiving everyone! And if you've already gobble gobbled, hope the turkey was terrific!

A fun evening last night!
Posted 13 years agoLast night, I got to travel up to my old alma mater Immaculata University to see some old friends and also to attend the fall theater production they were putting on there. This year, it was "Mame", and boy was it fun to watch! The cast really put their best foot forward here!
What made the evening all the more special was meeting
jacendkm in person, and we discovered that we actually knew each other from another production at IU a few years back! I had already graduated then, but they needed male extras so I stepped up to the task at hand. But it was nice to see ya again and to actually meet a local furry!

A whole new image!
Posted 13 years agoThanks to my good Georgia buddy,
ugacoyote, I now have a completed icon of my fursona Randy Ringtail! He did it for me as a birthday present and I'll tell ya, though progress was slow, it was well worth the wait! (My birthday was a few months ago.) I really like how it turned out!
As you can probably tell, I have made his image my avatar (the main reason he did it for me), and I have favorited the picture in my favorites, so make sure to check out the whole thing.
And if any artist out there is interested in drawing Randy, drop me a line and we'll see if we can work something out as far as pricing and picture settings go.
Once again, thanks

Oh Sandy...
Posted 13 years ago"Sandy my darling, you're hurting us real bad..."
Now, before all of ya start getting any thoughts about showing sympathy, I'm not lamenting about someone who did me wrong in the past. I'm lamenting about the storm that's making it's way towards the Eastern seaboard, and it looks like it's gonna be a wet and wild one from the news reports.
Fortunately, I live on high ground so flooding won't be an issue; but if I lose power, can't say for sure when I'll be back on the site. said that we could be without power anywhere from a few days to a few weeks (Hopefully not THAT long). So yeah, I'm seriously praying that we don't lose power.
Coincidentally, this comes exactly one year after the East Coast was struck by a mosntrous snowstorm that brought down several trees (many of which still had leaves on them), and knocked out power to millions in the region. I still have fresh memories of that one, and I've heard reports of snow coming to Eastern Ohio/Western Pennsylvania, and they're even expecting up to 2 FEET in the mountains of West Virginia! I'm glad it's not coming this way again. Snow on Halloween was scary enough! :P
Still, to all Pennsylvania and East Coast furs out there, stay safe ok? See ya when the storm blows over.
OK that was really bad, but I couldn't resist. :P

Fursonas: What do you view them as?
Posted 13 years agoI had this pop into my head today. Nearly everyone has a fursona within the furry community, but why do we create them in the first place? Do we view them as extensions of ourselves? In other words, do they stem from a part of our personality? Other questions that came to me regarding this were, do we create them as a bit of an alter ego, do we make them up as an imaginary friend we can turn too privately when life gets rough? Or do we simply create them just for the sake of fitting in to the furry community? I'd like to know how and why other furries created their fursonas and how they view them.
Oh, and in case you're wondering my fursona, the raccoon named Randy Ringtail (hance the name), I created as an alter ego of myself. :)

Hello to everyone!
Posted 13 years agoHey everyone! My name is Randy Ringtail! Future furry writer extraordinaire! I've been surfing around Fur Affinity for the past two months, but I realized I've never made a formal introduction to myself! So Hello to everyone here at FA!
Now a little bit about myself and my fursona. As stated I am a writer, specializing in short stories, though I am currently at work on a non-furry novel (no tears please). I am however beginning to write my first furry short story. No details on that yet as I don't want to spoil it for all of ya, plus I'm still in the process of writing it. However, I plan to write a few stories related to furry tv shows like C.O.W.Boys of Moo Mesa, Swat Kats and Road Rovers. I am also an aspiring voice actor. Haven't landed anything as of yet, but one of these days I'll accomplish my goal of doing animation voice over work! In terms of personality, I'm generally pretty laid back and easy to get along with, and I like meeting new people, especially new furries since I only have one chief contact at the moment, my good friend
UGACoyote, who I should point out is a terrific artist.
As for Randy himself, he's a raccoon with a very muscular build, he's from a rich family where his father is CEO of a major watercraft company. He's 5'10" has deep blue eyes and is very popular with both the ladies and guys alike. In other words, I guess you could say he's bi. He likes listening to contemporary 80s and 90s music, though he generally like songs from all decades and genres (except rap and heavy metal) And like myself, Randy is also laid back and likeable. I'm currently having a pic of Randy being drawn by UGACoyote. When he's finished, I plan to make it my avatar.
As far as Furry Work goes, I like the artwork of Blotch, KeenyFox and a few others and the literary works of Kyell Gold and Blotch. Here's hoping to expand my furry horizons in both visual and literary form.
Well, that's me in a nutshell. Hope to meet more people here soon! Later!
