Alright, so, some of you have heard about this, but two artists have had an awful tragedy hit them today. An SUV ran a stop sign, hitting a city bus, which caused the bus to veer off the street and into their apartment. They were sleeping about 5 feet from where the bus crashed through their home.

Right now, I'm collecting donations on their behalf to send necessities and such to them as their cards are buried under debris right now. I've been asked to do this for them as I know where they are staying right now.

Physically, they are unharmed beyond some dust inhalation and cuts and bruises. Emotionally is another matter altogether as they've literally had their home and almost all of their possessions destroyed. I've arranged for a gaming laptop and two old drawing tablets to be sent to them already, they recovered their computers from the wreckage, one is destroyed but the hard drives may be recoverable, the other might be in working condition. Their clothes were pretty well torn up and I'll be sending some replacements and such through Amazon and my partnership with a manufacturer.

They are currently staying with their mom, but their mom doesn't want the address given out freely, for understandable reasons.

So, the 20th was the 6 month mark since my brother overdosed. He's doing better, he's back in Utah, though about two hours north of me so it's really hard financially for me to visit him. He's in a nursing home and is being cared for pretty well. He's got a prosthetic coming for his left arm. He still lacks feeling in his left foot, but he's able to move his left thigh a bit at least. Unfortunately, a week ago his best friend was found dead from an overdose by my mom (bit of a story). My mom is very shaken up by this, but my brother is struggling the most, he doesn't show it, but he's been begging me to come visit him since then, but I just don't have the money.

In other news, I had a mini stroke in January, since then I've been dealing with various resulting issues and kind of went a little hermity. I've gotten better now though and am getting back to life and friends slowly. I've begun streaming again as well at www.twitch.tv/ra_zim. Right now I'm unemployed as the stress of my prior job was causing the tumor to resurface. But overall, I'm doing much better.

I'm not one for posts like this, but after last night and dealing with friends who were anywhere from outraged and hostile to suicide levels of depression over the election stuff, I felt I should say something...

The fact is, we did what we could. We voted. Some lost, some won, but there's nothing more that can be done at this time. Yes, there are people who fear for their lives with Trump in charge, but the government is also built on a system of checks and balances. Obama tried hard to make America better but was shot down by Congress. At the same time, whatever Trump may have promised, he's got to convince those in Congress and the Senate that it is the right action too. Yes, they may be of the same party, but that doesn't mean a thing. Now, even if he manages to convince them that his insanity is good, you've got the Supreme Court to deal with. At the end of the day, the President is really rather powerless on their own.

Either way, there's nothing that can be done about it now. Now instead of living what life you've got (however long or short you believe it to be now), you're wasting it. Several years ago I was made painfully aware of just how much such emotions waste your life. For my troubles I got a tumor and about 3 years left to live unless a really expensive med fixes it. Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed. Worry about things when you can actually do something about it. But right now? We can't do anything about trump in office at the moment, so relax, breathe, and enjoy life the best you can while you can.

My brother has stabilized enough to be moved to LTAC (Long Term Acute Care). Thanks to those who helped out, in addition to a surprise check from my mom's church, my finances are also stable despite the two weeks of missed work and trip costs. Thank you all so much for the support during this trying time.

I'm back in Utah, unfortunately I just couldn't stay longer, visitors in the Warren, OH area are welcome to go read to him and stuff, note me about that please. I'm definitely feeling the effects of the last two weeks, I'd been caring for my mom, myself, and everyone who came to visit my brother... I was pretty much ignoring it and now my body is completely done, I can barely get out of bed right now I'm so sore.

My brother is stable, but this whole experience cost him his arm, they tried to save it, but it just kept dying and was causing problems with the rest of his body so they amputated it... The change was like night and day though, once they removed the arm he started getting better quickly. He is still in a coma though, despite being somewhat awake and able to open his eyes and occasionally focusing on people. Its going to be a long road ahead of him, but he's going to get better, we're sure of it.

I really hate to ask... But my brother overdosed... He is currently in intensive care in Ohio and the nurse said it doesn't look good... He's breathing, but he is completely unresponsive... Update 2: I'm at the hospital... He's just so still... I found out he was doing crystal meth, and he had to go into surgery because his arm started to atrophy bad... They fixed that and during the surgery he moved his hand! Otherwise, thank you all so very much for your help... You have no idea what it means to me...

Update Saturday:
So... His basic brain functions are intact, but we still don't know about higher... His kidneys are struggling and there is potential pneumonia as well as some sort of burn-like infection on his side... When he passed out, he did so on his arm and pinched off the nerves in a way that the muscles began to die... He was like that from about 7:30 pm until about 1 pm the next day before he was found... They figured out he was on meth, and apparently there have been a very large number of overdose cases in this area recently...

Update Sunday:
His kidneys are weak... They can't manage his blood on their own... They're trying dialysis, but because of everything else being bad, they don't want to increase the strain on Zac... He has swelling all over the body and his blood is extremely thick... The doctors are very worried about various things in his body, but they're worried more about his brain... It turns out the CT Scan (which we were told was fine last night) is actually not that good... He has several areas that are irreversibly damaged from the lack of oxygen when he overdosed... Yesterday the neurologist really scared us because he made it sound like there was no question about him not making it, but my mom has decided to not give up, and I'm with her but my body is beyond exhausted and my chest is strained... I'm in tremendous pain... I'm currently sitting in the ER in the same hospital to be checked out because the inside of my left foot has been numb since the plane.... I've had to carry my bags and my mom's because she had surgery a few weeks ago and well, taking care of two people is really being affected by my body. Just an update for you all...

Update Monday 1:
Sorry for not updating about my foot, they have no idea what's wrong there and I no longer really care about it... Today we find out if there is any brain activity around 5 pm est...

Just got to the hospital, he's in isolation. He doesn't have an infection, but there is a culture of an extremely antibacterial resistant strain of some sort of bacteria. They are still having issues with his dialysis, apparently it normally goes in the groin area but they have it in the thigh or something until after the eeg says, basically, whether it's worth it or not... The eeg is at noon, the neurologist will tell us the results around 5.... At some point afterwards the orthopaedic surgeon will take another look at his arm (he cut off circulation to the arm when it happened and some of the muscles died...). Despite the isolation, we're allowed in, but only with a gown and gloves

He opened his eyes finally... Though the doctor said that it is an involuntary reaction, but the doctor believes there might be something higher in there, at least...

Update Oct 31:

Zim:
His brain waves are 2-3... Normal is 8. Basically that means he has instincts and reflexes... He isn't in there yet, but we're going to run another eeg on Wednesday and see which way he's going, better or... Otherwise. The dialysis is finally going to be made more permanent to clean him much better. There is still no higher brain functioning, but he is improving... He's opened his eyes today and that is a good sign, it's a reflex, but it still shows improvement...

Btw, they took him to surgery, but the arm is swollen more now than it was before. Before the surgeon will start cleaning out the dead tissue, he wants to get a hand specialist in to make sure there's nothing important to the hand that he might cut out.

They did surgery before and left him open to try and drain out the toxins from the muscles that had deteriorated, they were going to clear out what was left and seal it, but they can't right now

So the reason he's in isolation is because of a culture of MRSA staph bacteria in his nose. It is not an active infection, but it is present and could change

We just met with the neurologist. He has gone from a 2-3 for brain activity to 3-4!!!

He's getting better!!!

The doctor seemed very surprised too hehe

He's been taken to surgery and they're going to clean out as much of the dead muscle in his arm that they can to avoid future infections. They don't know what the results will be, but he may have to have his left arm amputated...

He's out of surgery, they removed about 30% of the muscle in his arm. There is definitely going to be difficulties with using his arm later, but they can't say what yet. Luckily he is right handed and this is his left arm. They have not closed the incisions yet in case he swells up again as that could have some very nasty results.

Okay, so apparently if you change one flight to another it's a $200 fee... But if you just cancel the one and make a new one way ticket, it can be less, in this case only about $140

Alright, so he's doing better, they've moved the tubes from his mouth and other temporary locations to more permanent ones. His arm is still being looked after closely. He's being prepared for LTAC, Long Term Acute Care. It's basically a step down from ICU but not quite a nursing home

He's snoring! It's a tiny thing, and something I always hated, but right now it sounds like he's getting closer to his old self :D

XD apparently it's because he's actually breathing on his own all day today :D

For those praying... Please include my mom... She's struggling bad and I'm doing my best, but there's only so much comfort I can give... After the fire thing, they had taken the blankets and stuff off him and he's lost a lot of weight, he looks so frail and weak and it really upset my mom...

She was wondering if she's subjected him to an "existence" instead of a life by keeping him on. Thankfully she's feeling better now because of the breathing on his own stuff, but still

He will be going for surgery on his arm again today. The 4th one. They are going to look for any additional dead muscle and then try to close up the incisions... If they're not able to, the next step will be amputation

My mom can't stay past this Friday, and that's why I'm leaving then as well

We just heard from the surgeon... The muscles in Zac's arm are deteriorating more and more due to the compartment syndrome. There just is no blood flow to the area and despite their best efforts to save it... They're going to have to amputate most of the arm on Tuesday...

So he's alright today, nothing new except for standard tests from prolonged inactivity and hospital stays in general

For those not aware, I've been dealing with some medical problems... Some really severe ones... I've been on an experimental medication to solve them and after six months, I've gotten an MRI done and the results are good!

The tumor has shrunken by 27% of where it was. Its not quite the results my doc was looking for, but the meds are working at least :) Just a matter of whether I really will be done with them in another 6 months or have to keep going past that.

Thought I'd put this out there finally, we've been struggling a lot with our finances over the last year, several bills behind and such, but we are finally getting ahead. It helps that after 2 out of the 5 people that were here left our power and gas bills dropped to less than half of what they were while the other two were here (literally our gas went from roughly $60 a month to under $15 and the electric went from $400 to this month coming in at $126). But we are getting ahead finally :) I have some people to pay back for their help finally and I'll be glad to be able to say I can do so.

Well guys, thanks to help from a few of you and a very close friend of mine, I've managed to pull through and with some extra good news on top: I have a job interview tomorrow morning! So hopefully things will start to improve finally and I'll be able to actually get somewhere :)

So... Here's the deal... My roommate and I have been struggling for a very long time, but I've always been able to stretch payments here and there to make ends meet. That along with some help from a close friend of mine here and there, we've given housing to furries that have been homeless, going homeless, and all of which has gone unreimbursed in any way, but that was mostly okay, we took what little we could offer and used it to help, but now we're the ones that need help... We managed to get our mortgage paid for the month, but its the bills that we need covered...

I've been struggling health-wise since December when I destroyed my knee... Its been one complication after another and all resulting in me being unable to work... During my last medical LOA due to these complications, something went wrong with the application, I don't know what, but something went wrong. I came to find out that my boss, the one whom I sent the files to, is no longer with the company and so I'm guessing she just didn't bother or something... Either way, as far as the company was concerned: I was a no call/no show. Thankfully I spoke with the Operations Manager before I left and he knew I went on a medical leave, and while he couldn't stop the company from letting me go, he did at least ensure I was left in the system as rehireable. I've gone through the process of rehire, and am currently waiting for a new position to open on my old project or for a new training class to start with another project. But that's not enough to fix things right now...

What pushed me over the edge was a dental bill... My mom's insurance didn't cover as much as expected and so while I had a payment arrangement already in place, my dentist's office decided to bill me the payment arrangement amount of under $300, as well as the missing amount from the insurance coverage all at once, which came to over $900. This devoured everything in my account and threw me drastically into the negatives with overdraft fees and all... Currently I'm sitting about $600 in the hole and I'll need more to actually pay bills.

I've already gotten money from my friend, part of which he told me to use on myself, preferably for art as he knew I'd need some bit of a pick-me-up to get through this, but that just wasn't enough... My roommate and I need help to get through this and the last thing I wanted was to post this, but I'm out of options... To pay back those that help, I do have hosting service with Godaddy and can also get cheap domain names as well as I have skill with web design I can offer up, or if you can simply help, it would be so very appreciated...
