Devourer has an immense amount of mass available for him, about a few billions times the mass of this universe.
He can keep all that mass because he comes from an earlier universe where there weren't any laws like in this one, explaining why he's able to pull off everything.
That universe was also very unstable and inhospitable, creating barely any life outside of him. He also assimilated everything before leaving the universe for some better place to eat.
Devourer has pretty much infinite power, so is constantly limiting himself.
Devourer has a "true form" of sorts, but it doesn't play very well with reality. And working and solid brains. At least the human and monstrous form work well.

If he didn't eat living beings (which isn't possible, by the way) he'll have to eat over a thousand times as much mass. Living beings counts more for some reason he's yet to figure out (not that he complains about it).
Also, the 5 to 6 people every day is the bare minimum of living beings that Devourer has to eat. So he tends to eat far more than that (doubling this figure is the most common number, but he will easily triplicate it if he gets going, and he has no real limit, so...).
Devourer's hunger increases exponentially: While on a normal being a hypothetical "hunger counter" should increase like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.. Devourer's increases like this: 1, 3, 7, 15, 31, etc.
Also, it never stops, it just decreases and slows down during a meal. He has no way to reset it.
And, if he doesn't eat in a while, he becomes an even more monstrous form than the usual but with a more "instinct-driven" mind, effectively eating everyone and everything he can reach until he's full enough, He'll then quickly digest everything and morph back. He calls this his "berserker form".

In his berserk form, Devourer won't control his "pain level" and speed while producing the acid, unlike usual. This causes the acids to be extremely powerful and painful. He won't even need the other stomachs to digest bones, scales, hair and anything else.
The only way to not get eaten while Devourer he's in the berserk form it's to be in a special white list of people that Devourer will never eat, no matter how hungry he is. It's extremely difficult to end up in here since you need to be either a really close friend to him or a close relative. Good luck with that.
The most realistic way is to just toss someone else in his trajectory, and after that, hope he finds someone with a better smell. still, unless you get very lucky, it won't work, you'll just waste time. Unless you get lucky and he gets full enough before he can come to you.

Devourer reacts very badly to insults to him, his friends and his family. The good thing his, he'll know if you are sarcastic or not if you insult him. Still, his friends can say anything to him and he'll shrug it off, but then you come and call him a poopy head and you get mauled to death.

Thanks to its human side, Devourer has a passion for old and new videogames/consoles/PCs and analog TVs.

Devourer likes to be pet or scratched on the back of his head, his muzzle, his inner maw, and his tongue. But only if he gives you permission or a signal first, so don't try to do it when you feel like it.
It should be obvious that this counts only for the monster part, not the human one. Do it if you feel like being eaten messily.

Devourer has a slightly acidic drool. but this is compared to his standards: in actuality, it's as powerful as the one that humans use to digest their food. He considers it weak compared to the ones he uses for the actual digestion.

Devourer's fangs are sharp everywhere, not only on top. That's why his preys get so scratched even if they are careful about not touching the top of the fangs.
Also, both the claws on his hands and paws are extremely sharp (Like the fangs), but are even sharper on the tip, to the point that even very slight pressure can cause a very deep and painful scratch.

In his monster form, Devourer can't feel pain, but he knows if he was supposed to have felt it. If you are fighting him and he reacts like he felt pain after an attack, you are in for a very painful ass-kicking and death.

Devourer is actually pretty playful: if the play is tickling or being vivisected in an alley while unable to die and covered in acid and pain enhancer he produces depends on the context.

You don't try to steal food from Devourer.

Despite being more of a "supreme leader" kind of guy, he'll collaborate with other preds if the goal he has to reach is facilitated for him this way. He also enjoys their company, since he can talk about how he eats without being judged or traumatizing his friends.

If he wants to taste a big prey, Devourer can create multiple tongues.

The entire digestive tract of Devourer can feel the taste, but the tongue is more powerful and precise, while the esophagus and stomachs are duller.

Devourer doesn't have any kind of bacteria or viruses: everything that comes in contact with his skin is absorbed, and the ones that get in contact with his internals are digested by the drool.

Despite the fact that Devourer has eyes, he can see with his entire body. He mostly has eyes to not cause the uncanny valley and because the area they cover is good enough for most purposes. The remaining area is used as a background, Only becoming important if something happens.

Devourer has what he calls automatic reflexes: they use the background signals he gathers (unimportant visuals, radar, more sensitive parts of hearing and smell) to react if the main signals are busy or unavailable (he's being attacked from behind or he's sleeping, mostly).
They consist of mostly the creation of tentacles to attack a disturbance, followed by eating it. They can be more complicated if necessary (in case of a robbery they could use the entire body by having it moving towards the thief).
People he's more familiar with tend to not cause them, or use a softer version of them.
The automatic reaction in case of attempted rape (or anything that abuses his private parts) is EXTREMELY brutal. Just don't cause them.

As I said, this is a permanently open Q&A about Devourer. Ask anything you want to know and he'll respond (or maybe I'll do it out of character, I'll see).

Favorite prey type? Prey that catches me in my low profile form and tries to eat me. Nothing better than showing that the pred can become prey in a matter of seconds. Even better if I don't transform immediately and listen to its speech about food, how weak I am compared to him, how I should surrender, etc just to then transform and do the same to it and see how it panics.

Since Devourer has virtual unlimited mass (you said that once, I think) why not give him a few more ‘fun’ stomachs? Alternate routes for the prey he likes so he can entertain them before sending them back to the first one for digestion? Yes, this sounds like a fun idea. I could also add some more stomachs to further traumatize or torture preys that pissed me off. and also some sort of crop.

I don’t remember if you covered this in the slime journal but if you were somehow cut in two would each part be fully autonomous? Yes, they would be somewhat autonomous. They would still follow the orders of the main piece.

I made this journal because I want to write more characteristics and other stuff for lore etc in the form of journals and I want to use some sort of index so that I and other people that are interested in Devourer's background information can access them easily.

What's your full name?

Do you have a default form? Or do you take many forms? Any favorites?
*awkward laugh* This question it's somewhat complicated too: being a human and an eldritch abomination fused together either the human form or the monstrous one can be considered a default. We both prefer the eldritch one though.

Is that form/are those forms solid, a little bit melty or completely liquid?
Depends. My human form is extremely similar to well, a human. Try it for yourself! *interviewer awkwardly touches the arm I extended, just to notice that it's pretty much normal: hair, skin, muscles, and bones are in the correct order and consistency* The other form, though *quickly morphs into it, startling the interviewer* is slightly more gooey on the outside, and much more on the insides. I'm pretty sure you don't want to test the insides for yourself, though. *Sort of forced collective laughter, while Devourer thinks about getting a less scary sense of humor*

Can you harden your goo to make weapons, armor or tools? Or at least make yourself more solid?
I can do pretty much everything I want with my body, I know no limits, unlike some weaklings.

What are you made of? How would you describe your “goo?”
I'm a bunch of cells and general-purpose biomass with a blueish color. Veins are decorative, not part of my goo. there are lots of other details, but they are very difficult to explain.
Let's just say that I'm a one body hive mind, with each cell being somewhat independent but all working towards the same goal.

How were you made? Do you even know? In a lab? Magic? Another gooey character? Etc.
As far as the abomination goes, I don't really know, I only know that I come from a different universe without universal laws.
And neither of us remembers the exact circumstances of our fusion since it fucked up our memories *looks at the camera crew* can I say that? Will it air after the watershed? *listens to the response* ok, thank god I didn't have to shoot that again, I'm getting hungry.
I should also buy a new decoder for the TV since apparently, it was necessary to change from DVB-T to DVB-T2 *listens to a voice from behind the camera* ok, I'll stop complaining and going off track.
But only if you tell me why cable TV was banned in 1977. *Long explanation starts*

Sure a bullet might pass through you, but what would electricity do? Can you be frozen? Burned? Cemented? Dissolved with acid? Can someone simply drink you? Etc.
*Intentionally hamming it up* ACTUALLY, pretty much nothing can damage me, I'm pretty much immune to everything.
And a bullet will not go through me, It will get stopped and end up in the stomach for inorganic materials to be digested. the same thing will happen to any kind of extraneous material that comes in contact with me.

Can you feel pain?
*Laughing a little* No, but if I do anything that looks like pain response you better kill yourself before I can get to you because otherwise, I will cause quite a lot of pain just for you.

Do you need to breathe? Sleep? Eat? Do you get tired? Sick? Etc.
I only need to eat a lot of biomass and at least 5 or six living beings, weirdly enough. And while I don't need to sleep, the human side forces me to do it anyway because of "taxes".

Can you morph into another person? Mimic an object perfectly? Or does everything still kind of have your colors and look like you?
Yes to the first two questions, no for the last one. When I replicate something I'm impossible to distinguish from the real thing.
If I want to morph into a person, however, I must either have eaten or absorbed it before to get access to the DNA and memories, otherwise I can do it from memory of from reference, but it will be less accurate.

Can you assimilate others? Consume them?
Sure, either trough a more standard digestion progress or something like "The Thing", the 1982 version not the ugly one, which is frankly horrifying and painful for whoever is getting assimilated, since he can feel anything that is happening to his body but can't do anything about it, and fire won't stop me, it will just make my cells angry. *Nervous and terrorized staring from the people that know the movie I'm talking about*

Can you regenerate? Do you need to consume matter to replace it or can you even get more goo if it’s lost?
Yes, I can regenerate, but it's not that necessary because my actual mass is roughly a few billion times more than the mass of this universe.
Also, following the whole hive mind thing, all the cells I loose will get to me eventually, no matter how much time it takes.

If someone touched you, are you slippery, sticky or somewhere in the middle?
When I'm human, I'm exactly like one, but in my preferred form I'm more like wet, hairless skin and sticky to the touch, leaving behind trails, tentacles, or whatever you want to call it that snap back to me after you get far enough away, usually just a few centimeters. The only exception is my drool, it likes to stick far more than everything else.
Not that is a problem, because if you have drool anywhere on your body it means that you will be eaten. *Mildly concerned laughter from the TV crew*


If you oozed around a corner, are you thick and slow-flowing, thin and fast flowing or somewhere in between?
It sounds like an oxymoron, but I'm thick and fast-moving.
It would be difficult to hunt food in any other way.

If someone picked you up are you heavy, light or something like water?
As I said, I'm very heavy, I have to constantly manipulate reality to not cause anything bad.
If you are able to pick me up, that's only because I'm allowing you.

Are you hot, warm or cold to the touch?
I'm pretty warm, in the realm of high 40's/low 50's on the outside.
For the inside, generally speaking, just add 20 degrees more.
And for the future translation, I'm using celsius.

What do you consume to live/grow? Do you even have to?
I need both big live creaturs and biomass in general, and it's obligatory, otherwise, I'll enter a berzerk like state, which is one of the worst things that can happen.

What is your preferred way of movement? Walking? Oozing? Jumping? Etc.
I mostly walk, but if the circumstances are right I'll just liquefy and quickly ooze around.

Can you form tentacles? Extra limbs? Etc.
As I said, I can do anything I want with my body.

How much concentration do you need to morph into complex shapes and do crazy things? Is even your default form difficult to maintain? Or can you, for example, melt and have 20 different tentacles doing 21 different things?
Very little. I can control everything with my body, so it's very easy for me.

If you become splattered, separated or even just split in two, how easy or difficult is it to reform? How do you make your pieces come back?
Very easy.
As a hive mind, I will always know where all my cells are, and they naturally want to come back with me.
