Announcing the Furry Femme Photoshoot at MFF!

Furry female fursuits are invited to join us Friday night at 10pm in the Grand Foyer. This is not on the official schedule, but we have permission to use the space and we will have an enlarged backdrop for group photos! Digital copies of the photos will be available online immediately after the event. Come join us and pose for the camera!

Have you ever really thought about all the things you've done in fursuit? Here's a list of questions to help you figure out just how much fursuiting you've engaged in ;3

No rules (apart from having fursuited at one point or another), just answer the questions any way you'd like!

Posed in front of a mirror?
Definitely. Helps to get into character and lots of fun.

Been shopping/to a supermarket/store in fursuit?
Rarely - only if near or part of a con hotel. And I wouldn't want to damage a display with Samantha's tail.

Been group suiting?
Oh yes, bowling, furry cons, dancing, etc.

Ever put on your fursuit for no reason and worn it for an extended period of time?
Well, with Samantha you don't start a one hour process for "no reason" but I have suited up on speculation.
With Tesla, it's a lot easier.

Have you walked around your hometown in fursuit?
No.

Fursuited in a different country?
Not yet.

Fursuited at a con? If so, how many times?
Yes. Hundreds.

Drank in fursuit?
Yes. Samantha even carries a water bottle with a long straw. Nothing alcoholic though.

Eaten something?
Yes. Usually something neat like candy.

Put on someone else's fursuit?
Yes. But not often and not for long.

Ruined the magic in public?
A couple of times when there was no alternative. A male head sticking out of a female body looks REALLY tacky.

Gone to a furmeet in suit?
OF course.

Been in a moving car while in suit?
Yes. Samantha's tail is really hard to fit in a seat but we did it.

Been glomped while in suit?
Oh yes.

Glomped someone while in suit?
Yes, but not too vigorously. More like a high speed hug.

Made a child smile?
Of course - many times. Especially with Tesla greeting children on Halloween - so cute!

Danced?
Hell yes! Samantha loves the dance floor.

Been in a fursuit dance competition?
Nope. I can't really do that kind of dancing.

Done something that attracted a large group of people while in suit?
Somewhat. Not MOB size, but a fun little group.

Experienced a hater?
Oh yes. Samantha has had her life threatened on a couple of occasions. Usually young punks shouting from their vehicle.

Longest time in fursuit? (what counts as being in suit is up to you)
six hours on a few occasions. Usually during cool weather.

And finally...
Most memorable moment in fursuit?
Wow - so many I can't choose one: Tesla making children smile. Samantha making adults smile. Samantha's Sweet 16 Birthday Party. Having a line of people waiting to pose for a picture with you. Shaking booty on the dance floor. Doing comedy sketches on stage. Meeting fursuiters from around the world.

Also, Samantha getting locked out of her room at AC and having to prove identity to the hotel *blush*

Samantha's Sweet 16 Birthday Party will be held in Hyatt 2440 (the enormous VIP suite - Woo Hoo!) on Friday evening from 9pm to midnight. The green screen is ready and I'm told that the photographer has some new backdrops (but our stock pool scene is still available). There will be Pina Colada punch (non-alcoholic), cake, furry grrl conversation, more outfits and a few surprises.

Samantha is holding her Sweet 16 birthday party (again!) at MFF on Friday from 9pm to midnight.
This time we have a much larger suite as well!
We will have Cake, Portrait photo equipment & props, and Games. Only the gift of your attendance is expected. Costumes welcome (of course). Room number will be announced when known.

Wow! Thanks to everyone who came to Samantha's Sweet 16 party. It was a lot of fun. Sorry the room wasn't big enough to hold everyone - I suppose we should have gotten a bigger suite, but it was still great fun! I think Hera and Tiffany got the best photo runs. And the swimsuits did go well with the pool backgrounds and beachballs. Chantilly Cat also had a lot of fun being Winfoxi's proxy.

Thanks again everybody - we'll probably be holding an after-party party at MFF this fall. *hugs*

Sorry for going quiet for so long. I've actually been creating photos and I have about a year's backlog of all sorts of things. But the unpredictable rule situation here for animated gifs (slideshow gifs banned no matter the size?) and fursuit pinups (if a suit has breasts, is it sexually modified?) and latex suits (because latex is fetish and fetish is porn) has rather demoralized me about posting. But I will snap out of it.

I don't do explicit porn. But I love a good sexy pin-up. And a good pin-up can be done without showing more "anatomy" than you can see on a typical walk through the general public. Still, there are people out there who feel that fursuits should never try to look sexy and anyone who tries should be opposed.

Or if I were to spend a year creating a Gigeresque alien goat anthro and discover that I can't even post a picture of her fully clothed because she's "fetish latex" then the utility of this site to me as an artist would drop a lot.

OK - I'm done grousing. I just had to get that out of my system. I know that many of those things are insolvable problems for this site. And tomorrow the rules could all change again! ;)

I was recently conspiring with  tlightly about making some fursuit photos using a greenscreen and a variety of fun backgrounds. He rigged up a proof of concept system last night and it shows a lot of promise.

Do folks have an interest in making pics with this like:
--Pic of your fursuit in front of the pyramids of Egypt or similar exotic locale?
--Pic of your fursuit in a famous movie setting? e.g. Hogwarts castle
--Pic of your fursuit with friend driving cross country in a convertible? (yes, multi-layer does work)
--Pic of your fursuit in front of most any high resolution background you bring with you?

I know this can already be done with photoshop. But the special greenscreen software and proper lighting can make it easy, quick, and almost seamless.

Thoughts?

PS. We also have a bluescreen if your suit happens to be green ;)
PPS. If your suit is both blue and green - you're going to look really funky no matter what we do.

Two weeks before we had a great photo session with taffypinktriceratops and I have more pics to post from there -- But they need to be animated gifs and it's taking me some time to get the hang of making those with the challenging alignment and sizing requirements. Yes, I'm a perfectionist.

In the mean time, I was very flattered to receive some gift art from the artist Tailsteak ( see http://tailsteak.com ) at Anthrocon. He did a nice sketch of Samantha at the dance - I now have permission to scan it and I'll post that later tonight.

My apologies for the delay, but I've had to slow the posting of my Samantha photos. One reason is just that I've been very busy. But another big reason is that FA has announced an AUP policy change to the effect that we are only allowed to post no more than 10 photographs of a particular fursuit. The intent is to inhibit mindless dumping of hundreds of artless low-grade fursuit photos.

Upon closer examination, the rule has complications and exceptions:

1. In some cases, pre-existing older photos can be grandfathered in if they are moved to scraps. (I have done this for my older Samantha pics)

2. The rule does allow exceptions for unique combinations of fursuit subjects - if I include fursuit A and B in a picture, it starts a new category and doesn't add to the count of pictures of fursuit A all alone.

Based on this complexity - I am under the impression that this rule structure is still evolving. I will probably move slowly over the next few months and see where this trend goes. I may also post some new pictures directly to scraps.

At Anthrocon, Samantha had the pleasure of a photo shoot visit from  shujintribble . Shujin decided that all his photographic equipment combined was smaller than Samantha's wardrobe, so he came to her room and we spent a few hours capturing a variety of poses. I'm finally getting the time to process and post some of the photos.

We started with Sam's red sequin gown. Then we proceeded towards some more casual and whimsical outfits. Thanks Shujin for some delightful photos and a pleasant visit!

Several people at AC stepped up and told me that they have really enjoyed the recent Samantha photos -- Thanks! That's great! I hope you enjoyed viewing them as much as we enjoyed making them. There are a few yet to be shown and there are more in production.

Samantha also enjoyed dancing and meeting people at the Sunday night "dead dog" party.

Samantha will be appearing next at Mephit FurMeet, so don't forget to give her a (gentle) hug!

Travis Sebastian came to visit two weeks ago and we decided to dress up and take some pictures.

Travis is quite the girly boy and he likes to look submissive. So it seemed natural for Samantha to look a bit more dominant to complete the picture. Fortunately, Travis loaned Samantha some of his leather gear which accomplished that nicely.

Samantha's "surgery" is finished and the results appear to be a complete success!

Samantha is having surgery in a tender, intimate place: that's right - her armpits. When she was first assembled back in the fall of '95, her armpits were a little too tight and she has always had the limitation that she could not raise her upper arms much above horizontal. But that is soon to be fixed. Soon a variety of poses previously off limits will now be fair game. Maybe she'll even be able to play volleyball!

FA policy on this is sort of muddy. For the most part, I don't want to do any pictures any stronger than what I have done (cheesecake). But occasionally I have considered a tasteful nude in which nipples might be visible (relax - that's all she has). Rumor has it that such a photo would not be allowed in any form for any content rating. Is that true?

Has anyone seen a lasting photo on here of a female fursuit with discreet but accurate exposed nipples?

Last Tuesday I had a photo session in which we took 235 pictures of Samantha -- mostly cheesecake photos. I'll post some here as I pick out and polish the more presentable ones.

It seems the French maid outfit is very popular.

Lauren says I need a new Samantha icon.
