Going to MFF this year - it'll be my first time back since 2012 and my husband's first time ever. Last time I was there the attendance was ~3,200, so I'm not sure what to expect at current 10k levels. Our strategy is to not make too many plans and just go with the flow. Like most cons I'll probably end up mostly in hotel rooms being pretend animals while socializing and/or cuddling, and sparsely attending events and dances. Really looking forward to the food, seeing old friends, and getting to spend the week after the con exploring Chicago with my seal and friends.

Coming with me will be Wooz (plush woozle) and my purple spandex husky (with outfits both sissy and toony).

I don't really use journals, so mostly I'm posting just so the post about our cancer cat isn't on my user front page forever.

Probably the reason I haven't updated is that life has been pretty good to me. Since I posted last I moved in with my bf  rayce, and last July I asked him to marry me. The ceremony will take place later this year. Work has been challenging but good - I've been promoted a few times and have my own office. Since 2014 I've been a Board Member for AAE Inc., the parent organization to Further Confusion/FurCon, and I will be the Chair of FurCon2020 (with an amazing group of execs and staff around me). I also am the Board Treasurer for a local Boys & Girls Club. I get on great with my parents, I still hang out with my high school friends, and I live in a place where being gay and kinky is pretty darn well accepted.

...and the best part is that the cat who had cancer (Korbin) is still very much alive and kicking, albeit with one less leg to kick. (He's our bumpy cat!)

I don't want to it to sound like I'm bragging, but I must say I feel very blessed and lucky to be where I am. I've been incredibly fortunate to have a seemly endless stream of loving supporting people in my life. My only hope is that I can spread some of the joy I feel to others.

I've been part of FA since 2006, and a furry since 1997. I love all of y'all wacky furries, and thank you for helping make me feel like the luckiest fox/frog/momma bear/bug/bird/pool toy ever :)

Long story short, my boyfriend  rayce's cat Korbin just went through chemo and left him with an $8k+ vet bill. (If you knew this cat, you'd know that it was worth every penny.)

So I am holding a benefit auction for a fursuit commission, with 100% of the proceeds going to pay for Korbin's vet bill.

The auction will be a step up/milestone auction, meaning that it starts at $500 as a fursuit head commission only, then steps up all the way to a full suit if it reaches $3K.

As with ALL cons I go to, it was a mix of good and bad. Loved seeing friends, didn't love feeling stressed. Had a great time collaborating on a fursuit with a friend before the con, though the event itself was far too short. I will be staying through Monday next year instead of trying to leave Sunday to get back for work. ugh.

I haven't updated my gallery in months, and have been swamped with work and real life distractions that have eliminated most of my free time that I used to devote to lounging around in my drawers and trying to draw all the odd kinky ideas I have in my head.

It's been a mixed bag - on one hand it's been sad, because I really do enjoy drawing and writing, and not having an outlet for these thoughts in my head gives me a case of mental blue balls. However, the silver lining has been that with my limited free time, I'm forced to put a value on all my kinks and ask myself which ones give me the most overall satisfaction.

I've been with my mate for coming on 9 years now, and I realize that the pursuit of some of my kinks has made it harder to interface on a real-life level. I mean, I love soft vore, but the logistics of acting it out in real life is pretty complicated (not that I haven't thought about that a lot, heh)

My focus right now is to start putting more energy into things to play with my mate and other folks in real life. Fursuits has been. and likely always will be, my number one interest. It plays into so many of my other kinks - trasformation, vore, inflation, embarassment, sissification, and role-play of bouncy toony critters. I'm finding that the more energy I put into suiting up and playing out a scene, whether playing dom or sub, really helps me be comfortable with interfacing with my kinks in real life.

I've realized that for so many years, I was working to become comfortable with getting off in front of a computer. When it came time to interact with people, even when they had the same interests as me, it was awkward and uncomfortable and I had a hard time really getting into it. It sucked, especially when I considered how much of my life I devoted to pursuing my sexuality and how little I was enjoying sharing it because it made me feel uncomfortable.

A lot of that is because I'm less interested in the physical side of sex and more in the headspace aspects of it. For a time, I had resigned myself to never really enjoying physical contact, but now I've come to realize that the physical side is an integral part of creating the headspace. It's annoying that it took me so long to figure that out, but better late than never ;)

So what does this mean for my FA (and DA) accounts? Probably just that I'll be drawing less and making fursuits more. Now that being said, I do want to try and incorporate some of my favorite ideas into fursuits...like pink cutesy fursuits or inflated or plushie-style costumes, but everything will be, for the most part, a way to integrate my ideas and desire for that perfect headspace into a format that I can better interact with my mate and all the wonderful people I meet in the fandom who share the same loves and passions as me. It'd be lonely otherwise.

As I get older I come to realize a few things about myself and how I operate that I had either been ignorant of in the past or just outright denied because it meant that I am kinda an asshole.

In this sense, I think about my drawing. When I draw, I do it for me because that is what I feel like drawing. I hate taking requests unless it's something that I would want to draw anyways. If I'm asked to do something that doesn't get me off, I just won't do it.

I like doing things for friends and drawing things I know they'd like, but I've done more pics for other people without being asked at all than I have for people who have asked.

I think part of it is that I'm neurotic, and part of it is that drawing can be a frustrating annoying hair-pulling process for me. I know anything worth doing and improving on is worth the pain and struggle, but I have chosen other things in my life I want to struggle on - mainly working and making fursuits.

I NEED drawing to be masturbatory, a place where I can just dick around and fulfill my own selfish desires. I'm tense enough as it is in my real life, and having that stress-free zone is very important to me. (knowing of course, that I'm the one who puts the stress on myself. But that's just how I am a lot of the time.)

So my sanity-improving guidelines for those who would like me to draw something:

-I DO NOT take art commissions

-I DO take requests, as long as it's something I like anyways

*(check my art gallery or ask me for clarification. I can get picky too - eg: I like vore but hate digestion so be warned)

-I DO NOT work on any time schedule


However, if there's something I always like hearing, it's ideas. Post em to a picture of how you think the pic should have gone or where it should go from there, or send me a note with ideas. I'm creative to a point, but I'm inspired so often by other people's ideas because they show me new ways to enjoy what I like :)

I like to write, I like to draw, and I like to sew and make fursuits. It seems like it's a priority case in reverse order, because when I work on fursuits I can't draw, and when I draw I can't write....darndest thing :P

Fursuits help pay that rent, so I gotta give that precedence, but unfortunatley that doesn't stop me from promising to draw for people...so if you're one of the unfortunate ones to fall victim to my "Sure I'll draw that!" promise, I apologize in advance. I'll get to them sooner or later, but probably more later than soone r :P

Well I'm back on and happy to see FA in a relatively stable position *crosses fingers* I'm doubly glad because FA was the only place I put my sketches (due to my lazyness, really) so I'm going to slowly reupload my old stuff and hopefully have something new to show in the coming weeks :)
