Open Letter to Artists
Posted 3 years agoI was approached by an artist who asked me what commissioners are looking for in an artist and I thought it was inspiring and thought provoking so I decided to post the letter in an open journal! Everyone be sure to check out SexyPleaxy!
I think its important that artists don’t bite off more than they can chew for starters. I don’t want to be #45 on the commission line and be notified a year later that my commission is about to start.
That being said, I don’t mind long turn arounds. Quality over quantity. If a project is gonna take a few weeks to a few months, make sure to regularly update the commissioner so they don’t think you’ve ghosted them with your money. Even if its an update to say “hey, life hit me with a ton of bricks but I’ll have a wip for you in a week or contact you again before the week/month is over” is way better that having the commissioner come and spam attack to find out whats going on.
Price appropriately. I would love to paint a million dollar painting and be out, but that’s just not realistic. I think competitively pricing your art compared to other artists with similar styles is a smart way to go. Also be flashy with one offs. Discounted YCHs with your own characters is a great way for fursonas to be featured in a sexy position with others without having to pay extra character fees.
Definitely establish a terms of service and a price sheet. I personally pass on artists I have to hound to understand the math of a price of art work I’m commissioning. I’m a kinky monkey, but it is so awkward to have an idea for a commission only to be denied for x reasons. Having a terms of service (TOS) and a price sheet really help out.
Also have examples of what certain price points can get. Ive fallen victim to ordering something and it coming out all wonky and I was very unhappy.
In an ideal world, us commissioners would get tons of wips and make sure everything is just right. In reality, that isn’t always the case. Personally I want to see rough lines, clean lines, and added color before the final project.
I think the very last piece of advice I’d offer is to make sure you’re having fun and not burning yourself out. Your art is your art and it should celebrate you rather than just be a means of income. It can be, but don’t lose the fun in it.
I’d love to field comments and questions if you made it this far be ye an artist or commissioner.

Art Sub / Commissions
Posted 4 years agoAlrighty, I am a huge fan of yiff pieces. So this journal serves as information, as I'm seeing my comms on yiff pages on telegram channels and other places. I am by no means a fin sub. I work very hard for my money, and I'm trying to juggle school, rent, and a social life. With that being said, I know a lot of sexy furs out there, especially those new or semi new to the fandom are finding it hard to find good reasonably priced artists. I was lucky enough to have an artist friend who was kind enough to get me my origin arts at an incredibly fair price. Star, if you're reading this, Sam could not be who he is today without your magical hand and artist skills, and I thank you for it. Anyway, the point of this journal is that perhaps you've come across a YCH or an artist you'd like some NSFW from. Obviously, multiple characters start to add up in the commission costs. I wanted to give to the rest of you, that if you agree to my terms and conditions, a discount by contributing to the commission for using my characters. Strictly speaking, I only appear in gay submissive positions, primarily bottoming. Below are some examples of how I can help:
1. You're a top and you want to show off your dominance but you need a bottom character. The artist asks for $70 for two characters. Instead of $70, you would pay $35 and I would the same.
2. You're a bottom and you want to a kinky yiff scene. Perhaps we could be strung up together or riding a double sided dildo. The artist asks for $60 ($10 for the dungeon background, $25 per character). Instead of paying $60, you'd pay $35 and I'd pay $25.
Terms and Conditions: I must be in the constant contact with you AND the artist. The post is NOT private, as in I can post it on my FA or telegram channel. The final most may not be edited without confirmation from me. It cannot be for commercial use. I must be partially credited for the commission. The artist must also be credited for their work. See my F-list for kinks I'm okay with and not okay with (gore, bad endings, etc). I will not pay for the commission and be paid back later for your portion. The artist will have to accept separate payments. If the artist fails to produce the art, the artist will go onto the black list you will be responsible for the refund of my portion of the commission. Options the following: (1) Finding another artist and paying for my proportion of the commission, (2) repaying my proportion, (3) getting the artist back on board with the commission. Subject to change at any time at my discretion. March 2021.

FA Creation
Posted 4 years agoSo, I've sorta have had an FA for sometime. No pics or notes or anything, just floating so I can find comm prices from artists. I very much love furry art, especially yiff but who doesn't! Anyway, this is my entry into creating a full fledged FA profile. In addition to commissions, I also want to write mini stories, comics, and tales for the art that I've accrued. Some will be snippets of roleplay, of which I heavily enjoy. I'll probably write another journal about roleplay. I'm also in quite a few discord servers as an avid gamer! Please please invite me. I'm incredibly bored most of the time. Thanks for reading! Message me on Telegram or Discord if you wanna say hello, inquire about roleplays, or talk about comm work.
