It's been forever, I wonder how many of you are still here? anyway, would any of yall be interested if I uploaded a few pieces here and there of commissions I've gotten in the past few years? I have some new characters and I kinda miss the community of commissioners/OC lovers that FA fosters haha

Posted 5 years agogod I feel weird posting this journal but, hey. You never know... anyone here used to play Furcadia? It is, miraculously, still kicking - I rejoined recently to hang out and while it's pretty dead, it's still got some of the nicer people hanging around. I might make this post more detailed with some info about Furc for new players but right now I'm actually looking to see if anyone used to play and still has some lifer digos kicking around - cus I'd like to buy them, if so LOL

Changes to this account + Artist reccommendations?
Posted 7 years agoSo after doing some thinking I decided to purge this account of pretty much everything, though I left a small handful of pieces uploaded. I used to religiously upload character art here - commissions I got from users on FA or at least artists who had FA accounts. But I just haven't felt very connected to FA lately and I got super behind on uploading stuff, so it just stopped feeling worth it.
I do upload my characters and their art more regularly on my TH account here: http://toyhou.se/Elissinia
I only allow logged in users to view my profile or my characters though, so I apologize if you don't have/want a TH account and can't follow me over there. (I do have invite codes if anyone would like some.)
I might still upload a piece here every now and then, but I don't expect it will happen very often. I used to use FA to commission artists all the time, but honestly, I haven't really seen any comm openings that have interested me in a while? Even YCHs feel super sparse, like everyone has drifted offsite and I've followed them elsewhere.
So with that in mind, if you have any artists here you'd recommend, please let me know!

Posted 8 years agoHappy new year everyone!! 2017 fukkin sucked but I'm looking forward to becoming a happier and healthier person in 2018. I hope the same for all of you, too!! I'm well overdue for an art dump on here, so I'll try to do some uploading soon. o/
On a different note, I'm going to be doing some Vday cards this year. If you'd like to receive one, lemme know -- I'm happy to send some out to pretty much anybody! I might be including small prints of my OCs in them as a little extra, or some doodles if I have time/confidence in my ability. Otherwise it might just be some cute stationery and stickers and whatnot. I don't need anything in return, also -- I just like sending mail!!

If you're looking for an artist you can trust, I absolutely think you should work with Julien. Trust is a big thing with me when commissioning people because I've had so many bad experiences when buying, and I have no complaints about Julien or any aspect of working with him.
AND IF you're like me and have only human/oid characters and look at his gallery and see how much furry art there is and think "there's no way he'll want to draw my character" or "he must not like drawing humans much" that's absolutely not the case. Julien is one of those rare artists I've met who can pretty much draw ANYTHING and enjoy it, and I've never seen his work suffer for taking on something unique. Plus, trust me... I've made him draw humans a ton of times at this point and I can confirm he is very good at them lol
Have I said enough?? I don't even think so, I love working with this guy so much that I could probably go on for a lot longer.
But to sum it up -- his queue for March is open, treat yourself to something nice and consider ordering from him!! (or u could always buy me a gift too. i won't say no to more julien art. i never will)

On the off chance anyone is reading this, what -IS- FA's rule about selling stuff? I've seen people with gallery submissions with stuff for sale get those submissions removed [ie selling old manga or video games] but are journals listing stuff for sale kosher? I have quite a bit I need to get rid of during the move and would love to give my watchers first dibs on stuff like my old Wacom tablet and video game consoles and whatnot.

Posted 9 years agoEYYYYY EVERYONE! so I just got back from Metrocon, which was pretty fun! I actually got to meet multiple mutuals and some old friends, so it was a new experience for sure. but I'm really glad to be home!! traveling is always super tiring for me kdsjhfakjds
in other news I ALMOST HAVE... 800 WATCHERS...??? like it was just a few days ago that I had passed 700 so that's amazing, thanks so much, guys!! I guess I have another excuse to do another giveaway soon since both of the ones I've done have gone so well!! ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿
so my question is -- any suggestions what artist I should commission for the next giveaway? or, if you're an artist and you watch me, you can always volunteer and I will pay you $$$ for this to happen? comment with your suggestions if you have any and I'll see what I can do!!

Well guys, it looks like I may have a new addiction... congrats to akira_misaki for winning the bust from Gibbons, but since there was so much interest I couldn't really help myself -- SOOOO here's another little art giveaway!

When I first started posting art of my characters to FA, I never imagined I'd get very much attention and just thought it would be fun to share my commissioned works with friends. But I've somehow accumulated over 700 watchers and I've met some really amazing people during my time on FA!
I've received multiple comments from people saying they enjoy seeing the art I commission, and I know not everyone has the money to commission art of their characters as often as they might like. And since I'm really thankful for all of the positivity, love, and support I've received from all you lovely people, I'd like to give a little something back!
I've spoken with gibbons and purchased an extra commission slot from them to raffle off to one of my watchers -- cus who doesn't love getting free art???

You can also visit their gallery to see more examples. Julien has always been a pure joy to work with and has a really lovely style, and in my opinion, the more people who know about him, the better!
