Head with No Body or Body with No Head?
Posted 2 years agoWhich of the following modular head-off arrangements is your favorite?
1. Head Alone (Bodiless):
You find the head without the body to be the most appealing.
2. Headless:
You find the body without the head to be the most appealing.
3. Just Head Off:
You have no preference for the head without the body or the body without the head; you just like the head to be separate from the body, not leaning to one piece or the other.
For me, I'm a #1. I find the head without the body more appealing than the body without the head. Despite that, I love seeing the two together most: the lone head and the headless body. It's just that in such a modular artwork, my focus goes towards the head than the headless body.
It's because I love all the different shapes of cartoon animal heads, and I like how the head is the part that holds the character's personality. Also, I think it's adorable how the head is the control center of character's body. Whenever a character wants to hand their head off to me, I like to do lots of things to appreciate it, like holding it in my arms, petting it, and even playing with it, like tossing it up and catching it, and rolling it around. It's so adorable to see how the character's body reacts as I'm playing around with their head, and something I really love is when the character's headless body just lies down to make a cushion for you to rest on as you play with their head. It adds to the sweetness of the fact the character wants you to hold their head and play with it.
However, I still like modular art pieces where it's just a headless body. Since the head of an anthro animal is my favorite part, it gets me curious to imagine what the head looks like, where it is, and what it's doing. On top of that, when the head's missing, it does give me some appreciation to the other body parts that I don't normally pay attention to most. When the head can't be found in the piece, I tend to pay attention more to the hands and feet, which is really cool because of all the paws, claws, and hooves. I feel like those parts are a little more unappreciated, so I find mere headless pieces to be nice.

Something fun: it's to see out of all my modular submissions, which character of mine has lost their head the most. The only rule is for duplicate heads, like the "Reptu Infinite Head Texture," they all together will just count as one tally. I'll update this as I go.
Last Updated: 2025_01_12
Total Decapitations: 47
Total Species: 12 (all dinosaur species count as one tally)

How I Feel About Keeping/Buying/Mounting Other's Heads
Posted 3 years agoIf you like those kind of modular things, that's totally cool. I admit they're pretty fun and interesting, and even sometimes cute. We have our preferences when it comes to modular, and who am I to make anyone feel bad or any less of a person about their interests?
But for my scalesona and my characters, I am a bit uncomfortable with the idea of a character owning another's head, and I find it a little sad. It's because the head has the character's face, and their face is pretty much their identity, also the part I interact with when socializing with them. To like own their identity seems a bit sad to me.
Even though I often take the character's head, and hold it and hug it, I always want the character to know their head is ultimately theirs. It can look like I am possessing their head, but I let them know it's all temporary. And that's why I love to return the head back to the character and stick it back on their headless body to make a polite closing, and indicate that their head is always theirs. The hugging is to make the character feel like the head they have looks so awesome, and their mind and thoughts inside are so beautiful, like it's a good thing that the character has whatever type of head they were born with. (Man, that's one heck of an insult: the head you were born with is bad, omg.)
However if the character wants their head to be sold or mounted as a trophy, it's their choice. So go for it.
I think what inspired me to write this topic was the most recent modular piece I've favorited, saying that wolf's head is for display only.
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47446682/
I was kind of relieved that his head wasn't for sale, even though the rest of the body was, which doesn't make sense for me to be so relieved. But the head being the part on sale would strike my heart most.
It's so strange how I feel so passionately about this topic, even though this is all fantasy. But, I am deeply in touch with my scalesona and OCs and I think about them every day.

If I Posted NSFW(ish?) Content Here
Posted 4 years agoI’m a little hesitant about doing this, but I want to. There has been an aspect to my modular interest that I’ve had for a while, but I haven’t shown. It is definitely is sexual, but I put it as NSFW(ish?) because I’m not totally sure if it qualifies for that.
Anyways, this is what I want to post: it’s a character putting a disconnected head right on their crotch, with the ham steak neck stump making contact with it, but without any genitals, gore, pain or death. Thus, from the Submission Guidelines, I’m pretty sure it would fall under the “Mature” setting. It could be the character putting their own head on their crotch or a different character’s head. And of course, if there is such an interaction between two characters, they will have consent from each other, so none of it will be involuntary. As far as I can tell, this will take place with only male cartoon anthro animal characters, pretty much the ones from the other modular content I’ve posted here.
This is bizarre, and I don’t know how you guys would interpret it- maybe comical, goofy, cute, strange, disturbing. Overall, I just wanted to make this journal to give you guys a fair warning before I post a sample of what this new content is. Feel free to express your thoughts, if this is something you’re okay and interested in seeing or not. And you can be honest. If you'd rather not see this, the submission will be under "Mature," so you can just flip the switch to SFW, or you can unwatch me, which I'm okay with.
I’ve considered both sides to posting this kind of content and not. On one hand, this is something I would like to do, because I want to explore more of my modular interests, and know myself more. Also, since this head-to-crotch modular stuff is what I like, I think it would be good to be open and not hold my desires back from posting this kind of work. On the other hand, it’s possible that this kind of work could throw off the overall perception of my scalesona, and characters. Still, they would be polite and gentle, and this modular head-pulling stuff would still be a sign of trust and affection between them. The characters themselves see the head placement on the crotch as an extra level of trust and affection to where it gets to be an intimate connection between them. But, the overall look and feel would be getting a little closer to NSFW territory, because of the specific head placement and their expressions. However, this will be as far as it goes, because there is nothing more in the modular NSFW category that I genuinely like.
But I think it would be best to throw it out there, and if I don’t like the reactions I receive, I could just delete it, and then move on. (The part I can’t undo is you guys knowing that my modular interest goes further than SFW, but I’m okay expressing that.)
But yeah, this is what has been on my mind, and I think it’s a big step for me to even reveal this part of myself by writing this journal.

Introduction
By commissioning Reptu Anthro, the commissioner must agree to the Terms and Conditions listed. Failure to accept or comply with the Terms of Service will result in the termination of the commission.
Commission Start
All commissioners must be at least 18 years old.
The artist reserves the right to deny any commission for reasons including but not limited to subject matter, description of details, etc.
Payment
The entire payment must be sent upfront through by PayPal. Once the artist has verified that the payment has been sent, the commission will be started. For larger 3D projects, a payment plan is outlined, stating the different stages at which the payment will be made.
Refunds
A full refund may be granted only before the commission has been started. However, after the start of the commission, only a partial refund may be given, depending on how much work is done on the project. After the completion of the project, no refund can be made.
For 3D Projects
• If the project is not started, a full refund may be granted.
• After the 2D turnaround stage is completed, the project total minus $20 may be refunded.
• After the 3D modeling stage is completed (no materials), the project total minus $200 may be refunded.
• After the completion of the project, no refund may be granted.
Add-Ons
In the case that commissioner demands an add-on at the before or in the middle of the commission, (alternate versions, different backgrounds, with or without a prop) a fee will be added to the project total. It is recommended that the commissioner requests this add-on at the initial description of the project, so that this fee will be factored into the total payment.
Content Use
The commissioner may request the artist not to post the project, and not include the project in his portfolio. If not otherwise indicated by the commissioner, the artist will assume permission to display the works on social media and through his portfolio. How I Got Into Modular
Posted 4 years agoA good topic for my first journal on this account -
It all started when I was 12, when I was introduced to a game called Mortal Kombat Armageddon. If you beat a character, you have an opportunity to finish them off by performing a fatality on them, where you can rip their limbs and head off. When a fatality was done to a human, I would get disturbed and disgusted. But when it was done to a fantasy creature, like an animal, robot, or monster, it seemed okay since these creatures aren't real, like you can't actually hurt them. To say why I liked it, that's tough to explain. Maybe it was because it was like "slaying the beast" or something. But, I think it was because I liked the diversity of the non-human characters, how they have different kinds of body parts. Also, on the game there was this one character, Reptile, who was an anthro snake, and it was so cute how he flicked his tongue around as he fought. And when his head came off, it looked really cool, because the back of it was lined with these spikes.
Crazy to think that my modular origin story came from something pretty violent: Mortal Kombat. But, it wasn't the violence that I was into, none of that messy blood and guts. (Even so, the game was released in 2006, so it wasn't too graphic.) It was seeing the different parts alone that I got into. Seeing the parts alone was artistic, like I can appreciate the part for what it is, when it's not connected to anything else. This may sound a bit creepy but, when I pull an anthro animal's head off, it's like plucking an orange off of a tree, like you have the orange all to yourself and you can hold it. Overall, me pulling off one of my character's heads is a strange sign of affection, and that's what I wanted to capture with my piece Antelope Head Hug. By holding and hugging Impax's head, not only am I appreciating the way his head/face looks, but also, I am appreciating his personality, since the head holds the brain and the brain holds his identity. Also, the fact that he would hand his head off for me to hold is a sign he trusts me, since his head is a precious body part, and having his head in another character's arms is somewhat of a vulnerable position. In the end, I always like to give my character's heads back, and reconnect them to be polite, and show our friendship.
All in all, I am happy that I don't feel guilty or ashamed being into modular. I used to think that me taking my characters apart was doing something bad and vicious to them. But to see them happy, unharmed, and alive after being taken apart shows me that they're okay with it, thus I am. And oddly enough, me pulling their heads off became a sign of endearment, a huge turnaround. The fact that they can be alive and move around despite missing their head seems cute, goofy, and hilarious, which makes my heart swell with joy.
Yeah, I know this one was a bit personal, but I think it's good to be open with you guys. After all, being a modular fur, let alone a furry itself is extremely rare, and I couldn't pass up this life opportunity to learn things about myself, as I do with you guys.
