Update, July & August Schedule
Posted 2 years agoI could have sworn I scheduled a journal for here before my trip... ah well.
So! I'm back from visiting my most wonderfulest boyfriend, and despite nearly breaking a toe and other woes, I'm feeling pretty chipper.
First: welcome to new watchers and fans! I hope I can keep bringing worthwhile reads to your proverbial doorstep. Please do fave and/or vote for stories you enjoy, and if you feel comfortable, I'd appreciate leaving a comment! Even if it's as simple as "I enjoyed the story" it really does brighten my mood. And of course, tell your friends. ^v^
Second: I have a Telegram channel! Part announcement feed, part social-ish media (because SOMEONE is actively demolishing Twitter after I spent years trying to build a following there). It's also a precursor to a more dedicated Telegram and/or Discord server. Check it out here: https://t.me/resolutewrites
Third: so what's the plan for July and August? Why, more stories! Two more parts of Bubble Entendre, a new M/F story titled Fanatic Xenophile, and maybe a few extra journals in the meantime. I will be moving in August so I'm spacing out posts to give me room to work on new stuff. Being able to consistently deliver content is nice, it turns out.
Here's the public posting schedule as it currently stands!
7/21: A Bubble Entendre animation done by the fantastic and talented PB472!
7/22: Bubble Entendre, Part Four.
8/5: Bubble Entendre, Part Five.
8/12: Fanatic Xenophile, Part One.
8/19: TBD.
8/26: Fanatic Xenophile, Part Two.
9/9: Fanatic Xenophile, Part Three.
But wait, there's more! Here's the schedule for Patreon/SubscribeStar posts.
7/19: The aforementioned Bubble Entendre animation!
7/22: Fanatic Xenophile Part One.
7/29: Feathers update - outline delve.
8/5: Fanatic Xenophile Part Two.
8/12: TBD.
8/19: Fanatic Xenophile Part Three.
Stay tuned for more to come!

You Feather Believe It
Posted 2 years agoJust a wee little update... okay, that's a lie.
The outline for the Feathers rewrite is complete.
I've posted before that my outlines are the story without the prose and dialogue; they're draft 0.5, if you will. This helps me get a more organic feel for pacing, structure... it's easier to adjust to things like the events of In Fine Feather working better as the fifth story arc instead of the third. "Wait, how many arcs are there??" Oh, a few. I'll start offering sneak peeks to Patreon/SubscribeStar in the near future :>
The outline clocks in at 25,141 words. For reference, the entirety of Feathers with Benefits, as posted, is 32,189 words. Going by outline-to-final-draft of Salazzle Dazzle and Bubble Entendre (the only other two of my works longer than just the outline), the final drafts are, give or take, 4x larger than their outlines.
Yeah, that's a low-end estimate of 100,000 words. About average for an entire fantasy novel. Writing two novella-length stories was good practice and I learned some valuable lessons, but I've still got my work cut out for me.
It still blows my mind that this story, originally a two-parter porn-with-plot, has grown so much and captured the hearts of so many. I really hope the rewrite will be everything all of you, especially my long-time fans, have been waiting for. If not better.
I guess I'll just have to write it and find out. ^v^

Bubble Entendre, Part Three
Posted 2 years agoEarly access! Early access! Part Three is up on Patreon and SubscribeStar. And as you may have already seen, Part One is now available right here!
Weekly posting will continue, and soon I'll put up a new schedule for July and onward. Progress continueth on the Feathers rewrite (which one of them will win the game of Who Has The Prettiest Feathers?) and I hope, I hope, to be able to hammer that out like I've done for Bubble Entendre and Fanatic Xenophile.
As always, stay tuned for more!

Bubble Entendre, Part Two
Posted 2 years agoAn anthro wolf takes on an unusual Monster Hunt: to help defend the territory of a talking Mizutsune. Will their growing rapport prove enough to face a threat greater than either could handle alone? And, more importantly: how do you ask a scaled, four-legged leviathan four times your size if they're male or female? He really can't tell. Especially as the two get closer and start finding their differences might not keep them from sharing more than just words...
Part Two is up on Patreon and SubscribeStar! Why wait when you could be reading it right now?? You get early access to all of my stories, e̵x̴c̴l̵u̴s̴i̶v̸e̸ ̵a̸c̷c̸e̸s̴s̵ ̶t̶o̷ ̶p̸u̴b̶l̵i̸s̴h̸e̸d̵ ̴w̶o̸r̷k̸, ȃ̴̜̝̕n̶̗̱̈́ḏ̸̚͝ ̸̡̈́o̴̝̼̔̽t̸͈̃h̸̲͌͌ë̶́ͅř̷͇̚ ̵̣͂̃͜b̶̛͇̓ẹ̷̗̄͊ń̴̘ḙ̸̏f̷̻̝̏̅i̵̦͚̾͊t̵̺̑s̸̯̀̀ ̷̡̫̉̏ḟ̷̢ọ̴̙͌̎r̷̞̝͐̕ ̴͙̿b̶̡̅e̶̬̥̽i̵̖͗ṅ̸̬g̶͍̞̀ ̸̮̈͋a̸͓͗ ̵̟̈́p̸̡̈̓ä̴̳́̍t̶͉͆̔r̴̢̩̽̒ö̴̱̣́n̷̻̗̾.

The first part is currently up on Patreon and SubscribeStar for your early access enjoyment! For those who can't or won't pay, fret not (too much), you will start seeing it here in two weeks. But, two weeks is a long time, isn't it? You could be whetting your appetite for Mizutsune right now. :V

Bubble Entendre release schedule
Posted 2 years agoSo, who wants some gender confusion Mizutsune (NSFW link)?
Patreon and SubscribeStar will get parts early; I'll likely be doing early access via link or other distribution for the former just in case they get tetchy about quality NSFW content. Details TBD. But!
June 10th - Bubble Entendre, Part One (M/M and M/F) on Patreon and SubscribeStar
June 17th - Bubble Entendre, Part Two on Patreon and SubscribeStar
June 24th - Bubble Entendre, Part Three on Patreon and SubscribeStar... and Part One posted here.
That schedule will continue until every part is up. Weekly posts! I almost feel like a prolific writer.
I will also figure out scheduling for a couple other stories. Steady drip-stream of content.
Speaking of steady: outlining for the fourth arc of the Feathers rewrite is underway. :D

Quick update before Sunday
Posted 2 years agoNothing major, nothing major... you know, aside from finishing the outlines (draft 0.5) of the new "Feathers with Benefits" and "In Fine Feather." That makes three arcs done so far, out of five or six total. Halfway there, if not more. Whee.
I also have an artist lined up for cover art, and possibly a title for the series as a whole.
More news later. Carry on!

Late May update
Posted 2 years agoI meant to get this out Saturday but medication adjustments are kicking my ass.
So, I don't want to finalize my June schedule just yet. Deadlines make whooshing sounds as they go by. But, can't miss a deadline if you don't set it, right? Or something like that.
I do want to announce a few upcoming stories (as in, completely finished and in editing):
"Bubble Entendre" - M/M and M/F versions
An anthro wolf takes on an unusual Monster Hunt: to help defend the territory of a talking Mizutsune.
"Better Than Expected" - M/F witnessed, then M/M
A moderately grumpy dragon and his mate have to spend the days and nights apart during her heat. Their anthro rabbit friend can help with that—in more ways than one, it turns out.
"Fanatic Xenophile" - M/F
On an otherwise average station, there's a nightclub called Magenta. Plenty of clubs offer hookup and relationship services. If you're open to a little something different, something exotic, to embrace the unknown—or to put it bluntly, if you're looking for interspecies sex—then Magenta is for you. Ashton, one of the regulars, would have to stop and think when he was last with another human. Once in a while, he gets a real treat: a match with a species he's never been with. The profile warns that their appearance may be discomforting. He looks forward to finding what's attractive.
For Featherverse fans: any suggestions for games two bored people could play while essentially camping are welcome! Right now, Riane is challenging Torio to a game of 'who has the prettiest feathers' and there might be a slight imbalance between the players... :V

May update
Posted 2 years agoWell, this has been a somewhat crazy month. After the posting of Salazzle Dazzle Part Four up to about a week ago, my brain decided to spray some WD-40 on the gears of my writing output. Cue deluge. How much of a deluge?
In roughly three and a half weeks, I wrote over 52,000 words across two stories and three outlines. NaNoWriMo in November calls for 50,000 words in 30 days, about 1,667 words per day. I didn't even write on two of those weekends, so I was just about doubling that output.
I don't know how I did that, lol. A thousand words a day is usually a high amount for me. It's slowed down now but still going. Madness. Madness is the only possible answer.
36,000 of those words turned into 61,000, just about evenly split between an M/M and M/F version of the same story. So, look forward to that in the coming weeks. Are you a fan of Monster Hunter? Size difference? Gender confusion? Frotting and/or knot-fucking? Boy, are you in for a treat. :>
Feather fans will be pleased to know the Featherverse is among the projects being worked on, though the lack of a proper name for the series as a whole annoys me. I'm brainshopping and workstorming a couple candidates.
For the rest of May:
5/20 - I'll post a meaty progress update and timeline for June.
5/27-28 - Age is always advancing and is likely up to no good. I should probably plan a fun and/or special birthmas event.
As always, stay tuned for more!

A Featherverse Update!
Posted 2 years agoI meant to post this last weekend, apologies.
As of last week, I finished a complete plotting of the new beginning arc up to the events of the old "Feathers with Benefits, Part One". It will alternate POV between Torio and Riane throughout the story, as will subsequent arcs. Outlines aren't 1:1 with the actual rough draft, but: this outline is almost as long as the entire outline for Salazzle Dazzle. Meaning, the first part of the story could be anywhere from 30-50,000 words.
I wasn't kidding when I said I'd do it better. :D
A bit about my process: I put down ideas, scenes and/or dialogue, names, and other bits I want to see in a story. The result is closer to a traditional bullet-point outline, albeit less structured. From there I write what I call an outline. In actuality, it's more like draft 0.5: I type up the entire story from start to finish without prose or dialogue. For reference (and to maybe make up for posting this late) how about a rare sneak peek into what I normally never show anyone? This is what part of one scene looks like:
Riane admits she was imagining Torio as a gryphon, earlier, and he smiles a bit bashfully; he was imagining her as a woman. She teases him about her curves being as large as her haunches, and he laughs, saying they'd be human-proportioned... though she is, of course, a lovely gryphon. She huffs in the "oh, stop, you" way; she's not sure what women look for in a man, but knows enough to confidently say Torio is handsome. He smiles, jokes that he's had more than a few women look past him (touch on height later), but he holds his own. Probably not as endowed as a gryphon, though. Riane (equivalently) blushes, says she didn't want to stare, but from what she saw he's pretty close. He's flattered, didn't want to stare either but admits his curiosity.
Very rough around the edges, I know. It gives me the story and pacing that I can then reference when writing the actual rough draft: just add prose and stir. It also makes it easier to change things around before I'm stuck with a lot of actual wordy words to rework. So what does all this mean? I didn't want anyone reading the word "outline" and thinking I'd just thrown some bullet points together. This is a concrete step in making the rewrite a reality, and I am very happy with the way it's turning out.
Now I just have to figure out if I'm writing the rough draft or outlining the next arcs first... longer project, new territory for my madness method!
Speaking of which. The first three story arcs will be titled as follows:
- Ruffled Feathers
- Feathers with Benefits
- In Fine Feather
I've got a theme, I'm sticking to it! I'm waiting until closer to release to announce the names of subsequent arcs. "Feathers with Benefits" will follow a pretty similar course to its namesake, as should the start of "In Fine Feather" until we pass the point where I ran into a wall so many years back.
I'm still workshopping a title for the story as a whole since Featherverse is just a placeholder. I've got a couple candidates already, though I won't turn down suggestions. Titles are haaard. Weh.
In other news, I've somehow put down 16,000 words for a different story (hint: a bubbly leviathan) in the last six days, not counting whatever I work on tonight. I'm not sure I've ever written so much, so fast. No small part of that is thanks to my outline method above: while I've changed a few things already from outline to rough, all I have to do is write out the story beats in long form. It's so great to see more stories moving from my overflowing "outlined" and "restart" categories into "awaiting edits" and beyond. Barring catastrophe, it won't be long until I buckle down on the aforementioned very long, very overdue project.
Stay tuned for more to come :)

Something old, something new
Posted 3 years agoAnd an exciting announcement!
Hello everyone, time to finally become active here too! Thankfully I am growing more and more productive, enough that I feel confident in making three (hopefully) exciting announcements!
1. Something old: over a decade ago, I got my start in furry writing co-authoring Pokémon stories with Pokegirl. Unfortunately, a mix of "oh god, old writing of mine," depression, and some weird idea that I was 'beyond' writing fanfic and needed to focus on 'real' writing led me to delete them on SoFurry. We all make dumb mistakes. With one exception I will be reposting those older stories, starting with My Summer Flame, a F/M human/Ninetales one-shot. Forgive any flaws, they're probably mine!
2. Something new: for at least half a decade now since not long after her announcement, I've had an evolving idea for a M/F human/Salazzle story. It is now complete. At 122 pages and 37.8k words across four parts, with at least two more installments planned, it is the longest project I have tackled since Feathers with Benefits. In fact, it's something of a dry run for my impending rewrite of that series; I wanted to be sure I could tackle the challenges of a longer work this time! See the posting schedule below. Also, art.
3. And a big announcement: I am officially launching my Patreon and SubscribeStar. As I'm still working on that whole "consistency" and "deadlines" thing, each is functionally a monthly tip jar. Due to the former's rather more draconian (and not in the fun way) content restrictions I may have to get creative with providing certain stories there. For one-time donations, I also have a Ko-fi!
The posting schedule is as follows:
Today: Art, NSFW art, more NSFW art, My Summer Flame, and Salazzle Dazzle Part One posted here; Part Two and an unrelated NSFW art (Resolute x vixen) are available early on Patreon and SubscribeStar.
Sat. 2/4: Salazzle Dazzle Part Two posted here. Salazzle Dazzle Part Three available early on Patreon and SubscribeStar.
Sat. 2/11: Art!
Sat. 2/18: NSFW art posted here!
Sat. 2/25: TBD.
Thu. 3/2: Salazzle Dazzle Part Three posted here. Salazzle Dazzle Part Four posted to Patreon and SubscribeStar.
Salazzle Dazzle Part Four TBD.
I have one other, shorter, multi-part story about ready to post, several stand-alones close to done, and am wrapping up the third and fourth part of Centaur for Disease Control. Once I have a better sense of where those chips fall, I will put out a revised schedule for y'all. If all goes well, I can have something new each month. Maybe more often! But, maybe less, I won't lie. Given I am of the Douglas Adams school of deadlines (whoosh), I don't want to commit to anything without having it actually ready first.
For Featherverse fans (though that's on SoFurry, likely won't migrate the old ones here), as mentioned above, Salazzle Dazzle was very successful practice for outlining, writing, editing, and reviewing a multi-part novella-length series. Centaur for Disease Control got away from me a bit (one part… no, two! Four! HELP) but the same is true there. I have updated my original worldbuilding 'story bible'—which, as further incentive, in part or in whole may make its way onto Pay/Sub (StarTreon? PayStar?).
In short, my great hope is to have it started before spring and start posting later this year. Again, can't promise until it's in my hands, but I have not forgotten y'all. I want the story as much as you do!
Until next time, enjoy today's posts, and stay tuned for more excitement down the road!
But, maybe less, I won't lie. Given I am of the Douglas Adams school of deadlines (whoosh), I don't want to commit to anything without having it actually ready first.
