Those, "Your Character Here (YCH)/"This Could Be You" (TCBY)/Pre-Posed/etc commission nonsense.

It feels like it's the next big thing everyone wants to do and it's the dumbest shit ever to me!

I know there are some uncreative people out there, but do they really have nothing better to do than throw money at artists to draw their characters in generic boring pieces of art? Really? Seriously?

The only time I pay for art is when I have an idea I just can't help but get drawn, I simply have to have it! Not just because I have money and stuff...
Maybe I could understand it if there was something really unique being offered, or if there was some insane discount, but no, that's not how it seems to work...

Hell some people have YCH auctions! Where the highest bidder or two get to put their character into generic position #1/2....

Someone explain to me why you would rather buy a YCH sort of commission than put your character into something you thought up yourself?
Seriously, explain the appeal to me?

PS, I also think adoptables are stupid too, but it's the YCH stuff that really irks me the most...

Okay so I've only been hunting for a job for 9 months... I get home from my 6:30 AM class, only to receive a message from a family friend. Turns out his towing company won the RFP they had a bid on, and that I could expect to be approached by the company's hiring manager within the week!

This is so stupendous, I'm still a little bit delirious from the sheer level of awesome.

Seriously, I'm so happy right now, I don't even know how to adequately express it...

Well I must say, it's been FOREVER since I was last here... I mean I've poked my head in a couple of times just to make sure nothing completely insane was happening, but other than that, I've been hiding.

Okay not hiding, but otherwise occupied.
I've spent the better portion of this year looking for (and not finding TT_TT) a job. Before you ask, yes I've tried applying to xxxx or yyyy or what have you. Just not getting hired. (Fast food, restaurants, gas stations, pharmacy technician jobs, supermarkets, convenience stores, you name it.

I've also been on again, off again active over on the Flexible Survival MUD.

I want give a huge thank you to all the folks who have decided to add me to their watches, or who have left favs on any of the stuff I uploaded. I'll try to keep up with my notes, and comments, but seeing as I have no money to spend (especially on commissions), I don't foresee much in the way of new art being uploaded anytime soon... If I can get out of debt, and find a gosh damn job, then maybe I'll become significantly more active, but for now, I'll probably only be checking in every couple weeks or so...

Well, apparently I was keylogged or hacked into, and had journals posted about a "house on fire" and a "dead sister". It's crazy. I would keep a personal death out of the furry fandom.
So the hacker/keylogger stole all this donated money from my PayPal account because literally all my accounts have the same password (d:) and transferred $205 to their bank account. Now people are harassing me for something I never did, and it's becoming insane.

Varenvel linked me to a virus scanner called Spybot - Search & Destroy, which found a few viruses/keylogger and Zebo, as well as my Windows Security being disabled (which I hadn't disabled before). I ran scans from Malwarebytes which found at least 2 more keyloggers and trojans/spyware, and AVG cleaned up the remaining mess that the other two couldn't find.

I have changed my password on everything, as per advice, so this should not ever happen again. The only thing that still is apparently not working is with Yahoo! Mail, because I keep getting emails saying that spam is being sent via my email address. >.<

Recently someone in Poland tried to access my Facebook account, which is confirming my suspicions.

Whelp, my life was not the most fun thing for a while there... It still isn't that wonderful, but it's not the end of the world either I suppose...

I had my school troubles which I seem to remember mentioning earlier... Now I'm enrolled at a local community college, and living out of my parent's house again. This isn't my idea of ideal, but it could have been far worse I suppose...

I got my first speeding ticket driving (by myself) from my dorm in Kansas to my home in California.

I'm trying to get a job of any kind whatsoever.... I recently finished the paperwork needed to get my Pharmacy Technician license from the California Board of Pharmacy (I can expect to hear back from them in 3 months... (they're so fast aren't they? DX)).

I had to sell my old books and get new ones....

I had to get myself re-situated at home. This means setting myself up more permanently than the air mattress and not unpacking...

My parents weren't exactly thrilled when I told them that I'd spent the last four months, not going to classes they had paid for, but in the end I lived, and I'm probably a little stronger for the experience....

I recently got dumped by my girl, but really I was being distant and uncommunicative, so I deserved it, and she deserves better than I'm able to give her at this point in my life....

Some of you may be wondering where I've been for the past 10 days. Well I've been trying to get my life back in order. Turns out I got F's in all 5 of my classes this semester (my first semester of college, out of state). Merry Christmas eh?

It's not the end of the world per se... but instead of taking 2 years to complete the pre-req course work to apply to KU's school of Pharmacy, I've now got five courses to retake, I need to find somewhere different to go to school (this one is a personal choice), get a job, and a whole bunch of other stuff all in a very short period of time. So instead of 2 years, I'm looking more at 5 or years to get a BA, and then being able to apply to a different school of Pharmacy. I'm slowly but surely figuring out what needs to happen to make sure my life isn't screwed up, but I'm far too busy to be online right now.

I'm playing Dungeons and Dragons Online (DDO) and having a blast...

Yes this is a rant, if you'd like to choose to skip it, scroll down and listen to the youtube song I like at the bottom...

Mainly because I'm a private (sorta, kinda more than most people...) kind of person. I'm all for telling complete strangers tidbits about my life and about me, just not enough for anyone to ever figure out who I really am, or any other information that could be used to effectively stalk me...

Now to clarify, I say I don't use Facebook or twitter, but in fact, I do have one account on each site. The reason I can still claim to not use the two sites, is thus:

Facebook: I have an account because my parents begged me to get one for a good year and a half, and I gave in finally when I was leaving home to go to college out of state. I have less than 20 friends, and at least 15 of which are directly related to me (2 for sisters, 1 for brother, 2 for parents, 1 for grandparents, 5 or 6 for cousins, and some more for aunts and uncles). I've also only ever visited and logged onto the site less than 5 times (I've had an account for at least half a year)...

Twitter: I follow 3 different users (and have 0 followers), one of which is for digimon battle online, another is Ray William Johnson's account (guy who does "=3" on youtube), and the third is... nevermind it was someone following me (a bot, who I blocked(after logging in to figure out who the third person I followed was...)) I've only ever made (posted?) 2 tweets (I think I can't check might have been 3...) and those were to RWJ to try and suggest vids for him to review....


Okay with that out of the way I can move on.

I personally have a irrational (aka mostly not founded on logic) dislike of a lot of popular cultural phenomenon (like Starbucks, Football, Baseball, Apple, etc.) and Facebook and twitter are both in that category and things I started out with an unfounded disliking of...

Also why would I want to be connected to so many people?
