A Change of 'Sona. Recommendations?

So, I hate to say but I've gotten a bit tired of my sergal and am looking at comissioning a brand new sona. However, I'm not sure what species I should be looking into.
Does anyone have any recommendations for ones that I may want to look into? I prefer the more exotic stuff or hybrids.
Also, if you know me personally, your input would be SUPER helpful if it could tie into my personality. :P

A Do-No-Right Two Weeks (Also Contest Info)

I hate updating my journal things with whining stuff, but it's one of the few places I feel safest to do so. However, I'll offset the self-pity with some fun stuff first.
So, I've seen the sketches for the "Win a Date" contest winners and the initial sketches are BEAUTIFUL to say the least. I am absolutely delighted to see how it all turns out! Please bear in mind the artist is currently busy on personal business though, so winners should be aware that it'll still take a bit more time before results are released.
As far as the bummer stuff goes, I dunno. Lately I've been having a real hard time reaching out to people in a meaningful way and getting the reaction I want (which is often just a conversation). Being asked to divulge personal information (which you DO want to share and they ask for), I don't mind. But it seems as of late no one wants to get back to me. I dunno. I know I should be thicker skinned, but recently I just want to be expressive with people and not have that action immediately make me fret that an e-mail penpal is going to just disappear on me.
What do you guys think? Have you ever shared maybe too much and had people up and disappear on you? How have you dealt with it? I know the obvious response is "move on, suck it up" but it's getting tougher over time to just keep doing that over and over.
Anyway, I'm off. I hope all my watchers have a great week. You can look forward to some new art pieces in my gallery in the near future!

I actually exchange a lot of Notes with people on FA (I'm more gregarious than what you may think), but I find the message system can be less than great for actually keeping a candid conversation that feels natural.

I know some of you may just skip past this paragraph just to see the winners, but I want you all to know that it was TOUGH to pick out just one winner - so I went with FOUR winners. Many people put forth a tremendous amount of effort (some less so), and I applaud all of you for it! REMEMBER, if you did not win this contest, there WILL be follow-up ones in the future!
Today's winners were chosen based upon a number of factors: concept, effort, creativity, and enthusiasm. Absolute enthusiasm clinched the decision for some of these winners as they just seemed so invested in their ideas.

In Search of New Furry Males (Requesting Input!)

So, I'm looking at the future YCH contests I'll be holding. Yes, there will be more. Also, winners have been selected, approved, and will be announced at 8 PM EST tonight!
In the meantime, I'm looking at expanding the roster of my characters future entries can choose from. Particularly in the guy or herm category (guy preferred). I have a fair selection of ladies to choose from, but only two guys! That has to change.
So I guess I want to ask is what sort of male characters would you like to see? Buff? Exotic? Scaly? Demure? Femboy/trap? What sort of masculine characters would you like to potentially see in future art or even be paired up with?
Please let me know what you would like to see in new future male characters. I want to give those looking to pair up their own furries with a guy type more options.

This Day Again, Eh?

Just wanted to wish you a happy father's day. This day is brutal for me year after year, and hasn't gotten easier. Miss my father fiercely. His life was cut short at least three decades early. So I don't celebrate like you guys do, unfortunately.
Just wanted to pop my head in not to drum up sympathy but to tell ya'll this: If your loved ones do right by you, appreciate every moment you have. You never know when you might find you have far less time left than you once thought. Respect the people you love and do right by them.

Should you not win this initial round, PLEASE do NOT be discouraged! Due to the popularity of this contest, I will very likely do a follow-up contest in the following weeks once all winners have had their YCHs made. This, of course, depends on my own personal finances at the time.
Due to the number of submissions and the overall quality of A LOT of these potential winners, I'm upping the total winning spots to 3 or 4. That's how out-of-the-park you guys nailed it.
And please, remember that during the follow-up I will be taking submissions again. If the themes are the same, you can use the exact same submissions (or revised) as before. Just note that if you did not win this time, you MAY need to up your game and try a tad harder!

Wow! Only 3 days in to the total 6 and already there are a lot of entries and some REAL great ideas to boot!
At this rate, I may revamp the contest prizes to include more than just one winner. Hmm. We will see. Again, so many great ideas and I would hate to see them wasted. And there's a wonderful variety of sexy, sweet, and just randy.
Remember, if you didn't win one round you can send submissions for next contest week (and can re-use previous ideas too). Also, more characters may be added as time goes on (I may have original characters created and added if demand is there!).
Anyway, I've received a few questions about the contest, mostly pertaining to how I'm choosing the winner. If you want some awesome art, here's a few tips about the contest!
1) Submissions can be just sweet or mature or just straight-up ADULT. Your type of entry does not affect your odds of winning.
2) Multiple references to a character help me get more concrete ideas for design and do some mental designing of the piece, so sending multiple samples of a character DOES help.
3) BE DESCRIPTIVE! When describing the date, more is MORE. Don't simply say "I dunno...um...bondage??" Paint me a word picture! I know it can be a shy and awkward experience to go into detail about how things might play it (particularly for adult stuff), but I want to see a good effort with idea submissions! Simply having a cute character isn't going to win so use your imagination. ^_^
4) Be creative! If you're looking for something like a candlelit dinner or a naughty bedroom scene, that's alright, but try to be unique about your date idea. Is the date a night time picnic in a field overlooking the sea? Is the naughty scene going to involve toys and whatnot? Again, make the date your own! I will be giving feedback to the winner but having a good starting point is vital! ^_^

Terri-bad Week Leads to Questionable Decisions

On the plus side to sergal fans, I ended up on a whim submitting a request for a high-end tone piece of Ryaht from a favorite artist of mine who produces ABSURDLY good art at pretty high prices. No guarantee my piece will be picked for her next commission, but if it does you can all look forward to something that will literally be incredible.
Now I'm going to go to sleep before this night turns into me feeling sorry for myself even more as I do and being in a dark place as I've been for the last week.

Darkest of Days (Summer)

Does anyone find the heat of summer to make them feel worse? I'm not talking sweaty and gross, but rather depressed and broken. I tend to be a pretty downcast person in general, but something about being constantly exposed to 93 F weather REALLY makes me bummed out.
Does anyone else here feel like the heat makes them more unhappy, or does the constant chipper sunshine and "beach weather" actually raise their spirits?

Heartbreak.

I'm pretty sure I lost a friend tonight. It's hard to explain the circumstances and situation, but where once I had a good friend who would send me words of encouragement, I now think I might just have a stoic affiliate who treats me with utter apathy.
I've not been this depressed in a very long time. It actually feels like my heart is breaking.
I don't even know why I'm writing this. Just have to tell someone. Even if no one will listen.

Sorry I've been so inactive as of late. Life has been pretty hectic recently and I've been away from FA for a darn long time. I actually had a few more commissions sent through to me recently, so they'll be posted in the near future.
In other news, I just grabbed a large queue of commission time from a favorite FA artist of mine. I'm looking for ideas on what to commission!
Is there a character in my gallery you'd like to see more of? Any sort of fetish? Or maybe something cutesy and fun instead of smutty. I'm up for anything, so please, just comment below!

Nearly moved in! (Progress, slow and steady)

Sorry to be a ghost around these parts. After a week's delay, the damn moving company delivered my furniture to my Portland apartment. About time, but I'll leave the grumbling aside for now. Tonight is my first time in nearly three weeks where I am actually sleeping in my bed again (a month of nights in the sleeping bag is poor for rest and worse for sex).
Anyway, I look forward to being active on both here and the FA forums by the end of the week. Big apologies to my artist friends (I will post the commissions you did for me and read your journal updates!) and to my comrades on the FA boards (I'll be back to my tongue-in-cheek remarks and flirtatious ways before you know it). To everyone else, I'll have a few new commissions you might enjoy.
Anyway, freshly showered up and hitting the hay for tonight. Much love to all my friends and fellow weirdos on FA!

Anyway, not here for a pity party. Just wanted to see what everyone is up to. I have a bunch new commissioned art sitting in my inbox, but since my only electronics at present are my smartphone and my 3DS/Vita (a nerd needs his toys) I'm going to have to wait until early week after next to post the new art once I unpack and set up my computer.
But yeah. There you go. Big hugs to my furry friends!

So, I've actually had a number of people given me very generous compliments on Ryaht (my sergal fursona) so far. I'm utterly flattered by these kind words, and I appreciate the watches I've gotten so far. I hope to eventually get good enough at drawing to create additional sergal-based characters and my own pics of Ryaht.
In the meanwhile though, I'd love to ask - if I were to commission any more pics for Ryaht, is there anything you want to see? I'm waiting on a few final commissions I have out, but would like to keep the gallery growing.

Art and Discipline
Posted 10 years agoPhew. Woke up this morning for my first snowstorm trek of 2015. Ended up doing a loop around my town. FINALLY got to Barnes & Noble after completing my 10 km walk. Rewarded myself with some new figure books. Now it's time to walk 5 km back to my town and have a nice sushi lunch.
Not a bad day so far. Hope everyone else's is going well !
And as per promise, I'll finally upload some of my sketches - once I'm even remotely pleased with the results, of course!
