Well I'm selling the Cadillac!
Posted 10 years agoPutting up the ad this weekend. Had a couple of people come look at it through local contacts, but with little interest. Going to use the money I make on the sale to buy a new jeep, or buy an old Mercedes 300 turbo diesel!
Thoughts of moving back to Minnesota...
Posted 14 years agoBeen missing home lately. Think after a few years of saving I am gonna move back to Minnesota. Don't really know why I moved out to Colorado to begin with, but looking back at it now I regret it. I spent thousands, & set myself back a long ways from getting myself into college & pursuing my photography career. I love my driving gig now, & might just stick with this career from here on out. All my family & some of my best friends are a thousand miles away. I have made friends here that are irreplaceable & would hate to say goodbye, but I can't cope with this bitter feeling inside that has been consuming me slowly the past year. I am just now getting my life together with something good that I might not be able to get back in MN. With the economy being dumpy, I might not be able to get a minimum wage job in Faribault. Last thing I wanna do is put myself in that position again. Maybe I'm just in fear of being in a position to where I can't just get up & go when I please, I don't like being held down & having to stay in one place for too long, & I have been in CO to long to be able to withhold this feeling anymore. I know eventually this will pass, & I will forget about it. Right now though I just can't get it shaken out of my head. Financially I would be better off not only in the long run, but in now as well. Keeping in mind all the work it took to get out here, would be just as much, or not more to go back. Now that I have a life here I can't imagine going back to the life I had before of jumping around place to place. This freebird is no more & will not be for a long time, but hey it could always be worse. I am greatfull for what I have here. I have worked too hard to just let it go & start a new. When the time comes I will try to continue my life back in Minnesota, I just need to be patient. Realistically though, that might not be for another ten years, & the thought of that kills me. I chose this road & I must play the cards I dealt, & when the game is done... I'm gonna take the money & run....
Getting another TT today!!!
Posted 14 years agoGonna drive up to Boulder today & pickup a really nice Pioneer Direct Drive Turn Table for $225. Will probably also pickup some more records while I'm at it!
Another RTD update, & misc crap.
Posted 14 years agoWell I've got two weeks of training & conversion left before I go into service. Basically doing random routes till I get seniority in for the next vote in 4 months. Its been a long few weeks, but its pretty nice so far.
Now that I am finally making money I can get what I need done to my car. Brakes & AC are first on the list, then I need to install a new stereo. Also want to get the body parts that need it, replaced. The interior is the last thing I want to get done since I need to get her painted. I would ideally get the body blasted so I can take care of any rust that I haven't seen yet.
So far all seems to be good, & I am finally getting in a position to were I am not worrying about my financial crap everyday. Now I just gotta keep my self out of this depressed feeling that's been looming over me for no reason...

My week of boredom!
Posted 14 years agoWhile My housemates Hyper & Lagarto are away, I've done nothing but sit inside the house & go to work! Finished the last things I needed to get started with RTD, which if things go right I will be starting Next Monday! My last day of work at the shithole I'm at now is tomorrow! Thank Fuck! haha. Trying to plan a party this Sat & invite all my work buddy's over if things go right. Now I gotta do more brake work on the Caddy. Didn't do anything with the rear drum brakes when I overhauled the system, & they aren't working like they should. The shoes & drum itself is probably worn down to nothing. Last time I was told they were touched was over 4 years ago! xD Least I can stop with the new front system. Only a matter of time before the worn out old drums stop working all together, hoping to get that dealt with by the end of this month at the latest.
Cool music I found while looking at Cadillacs!
Posted 14 years agoRTD Update!
Posted 14 years agoSo I got my CDL Permit, background check, & DOT physical done. All I have to do now is see if my references cleared, & I should have the job! If I do I will start on the 6th. My last day for my current shitty job is the 1st. Whoohoo!
RTD
Posted 14 years agoWell took the driver testing for RTD last Friday, & I have an interview tomorrow morning for the job. Gonna prep all night for it. Now I just wish I had an iron for my suit.
Another Cadillac?!
Posted 14 years agoWell the caddy I had prospects on for parts is to old for me to use on my Coupe Deville. However I am told that it only needs a starter, flywheel, & a new carb, or carb rebuild to get her running again. The body is supposed to be in decent condition. If its not gonna end up being a big money pit, I might just take on the challenge of getting her going again. The guy doesn't want or need her, so he said he would just give it to me!
Brakes are nice to have!
Posted 14 years agoWas coming off the freeway a couple of weeks ago with Lagarto & Hyper, & my brakes finally gave out rendering me unable to stop. Lost all my brake fluid in the master cylinder. Ended up replacing both front calipers & passenger rotor, as well as the master cylinder. Luckily the drums in the rear end were fine. After bleeding all the lines they felt better than before the master cylinder started leaking! Glad I got it done, put it off way too long. Funny how they went out the day before I planned on working on it. The only real hassle about it was getting a wrong caliper & finding that it wasn't just the master that was bad.
Just changed out the oil today, & a couple of defunct plugs. for only having about 10,000 miles on the rebuild, was surprised to see that they went. Also replaced the air filter today, that made a big difference as well. Now just to get the bumper fillers & rear bumper replaced, & Angie will start looking better again. Got a prospect on a old caddy for parts, not sure on the year yet though...

Spin Out
Posted 14 years agoDriving down the freeway last week after some snow fall, and hit some black ice. My car spun completely around three times before I was able to correct her. A rather jolting experience to say the least. What was more amazing about it, is that I did not hit any of the cars I was surrounded by. Didn't even go in the ditch, just spun right down the center lane & kept on going after I was able to quickly restart the engine in neutral & continue on my way.
MN to CO
Posted 14 years agoMade the 867 mile drive to Denver, CO from Faribault, MN in about 13 1/2 hours. Pretty good timing I'd say. Was a brutal drive thou. haha.
Glad to have a car for myself. Its quite a treat from taking the bus for the last year & a half.
Now I can cruise around in my 84' Coupe De ville. :P
